4-stars (this book & overall Duet) **SPOILERS**

Book 2: Good plot/emo/char dev/sex scenes/char development

Good exciting continuation of Book1, with 18yo popular senior H desperate to find 18yo senior h after her identical twin-sister (OW) told him that h left their house after a confrontation with their parents. When he found h & saw her bruises and scars, it was the moment of his great humility and grovel. Loved that big part of book2 was H's long grovel towards the wrong he'd done h and proving that he'd become a changed man because of her. Loved that h didn't mince word but told him that he was partly responsible for her getting physically abused by her parents. Also liked that h wasn't easily impressed by H's promises and actions. She was wise to be wary of his turnaround, given that they've only known each other for a couple weeks. She made him prove his worth without demand. h's character as brave/candid/simple/carefree/quiet became solidified in Book2.

Good character development for H too. Loved how he became OTT alpha-dominant with h and jealous-possessive & protective over her and he wanted to repeatedly show his claim on her publicly. Loved & thought it funny yet sweet how hurt & bothered he'd be whenever h called their romance “fake” and diminished their sex as a hookup or a friends-with-benefits thing. Their detailed bareback Sex scenes were hot, even the awkward yet rough de-virginizing of h. Their sex scenes showed H's increasing obsession with h and h's openness as well as their increasing closeness.

By 50%, their romance was quite solid and was only a matter of either 1 saying their ILYs.

By 60%, OW made more appearances with H&h and their group of friends, as she becomes their accomplice and trying to get out from their parents' inheritance greed.

By 94%, we get OW's POV as a prologue/teaser for her own book.

At the end, H told h ILY and proposed marriage at whichever date she'd marry him.

Sexual History:
18yo virgin h was homeschooled with her twin sister before they began attending their private high school 3.5 years ago. She didn't have any friend nor had she ever dated or been kissed by another than H since she isolated herself when she wasn't in classes pretending to be her sister. H was a player with casual hookups among the girls in their private school. He'd never had a GF until h. He'd de-virginized other girls before h but never took the care he did as he did with h during and after sex. He's never been as sexually voracious as he was with h.

The spare part two. The chemical reaction.

This is a great instalment to the series but the story is not over yet.

This duet is one of the best that I’ve read in new adult stories lately.
It was great to go back and feel all the heartbreaking moments and how love can always find a way to put back together all the broken pieces of a heart because they definitely are like one single heart beating. Love it .

The proposal to her rather than her sister set everything in motion.

She can't believe her parents struck out at her, don't they love her at all..?

He sent her back and felt nothing, but now he regrets it.

He was wrong, they were wrong and now he's going to fix it all.

This series is killing me. It's well and truly stolen my heart.

The first book in the series The spare part one shows you the life she led before Arlo. Part two shows the life she leads after Arlo forced his way in.

There's so much pain and anguish in this book, that if the pages could literally bleed they would.

I felt her heartache as if it were my own as I read this. The words might break you but her inner strength will more than rebuild you.

Arlo was unrepentant in the first book, but now he's seen the error of his ways and oh my gosh he's beautiful both on the inside and out.

Her insecurity and doubt brought tears to my eyes. I wanted her to see what I see, what you will see.

This book is amazing and I'm loving their journey so much. I can't wait for the story to continue.

Left off where book one ended. Tallulah was out in the open now she was always considered the spare sister but that’s all changed. Tallulah family make sure she knows what they think of her, she never thought her parents be so cruel leaving her with not option but to leave.
Tally just wanted to run and hide and leave it all behind, she had her trust fund and she would be fine, but when she opened the hotel door she didn’t expect a very angry Arlo and friends to have found her or that they would be willing to make it their goal to help her with her revenge.
Tallulah starts to see that she didn’t see the real Arlo when he thought she was her sister, there are so many more layers to him.
Arlo can see that Tallulah is everything her sister isn’t and can’t help but wonder what it would be like if this wasn’t fake. One thing he knows he may be rich and privileged and normally gets what he wants and what he wants is Tally and the lies to be real.

Well I started this book at 10pm ! Totally my mistake ! I couldn’t put it down I need to read more and more and before I knew it it was stupid o’clock in the morning and I was left wanting more !

This book picked up right where part 1 finished, with a bang and just kept going ! I loved seeing the character development of Tally and her new steely attitude with what she needed to do ! Her determination and grit all combined with her new found freedom and style, she found her self worth and took it !

Combine that with Arlo and the boys, with their money, know how and adoration, respect and loyalty for each other and for Tally and the book was fabulous !

By the end of the book, I was left wanting, turning pages to find more ! I hope that this isn’t the end of Tally and Arlo ! I need more ! But at the same time can’t wait to see what Gemma brings next !

An easy 5 Stars

I honestly did no think I could love these characters anymore, but Gemma has completely blown my mind with this second installment.
Where book 1 was a straight out bully romance, this one is a flip of the switch and and we see a different side to the guys and a fierceness to Tallulah that honestly makes me swoon! That girl is fire!!
I am 100% invested in Arlo and Tally as a couple. They are the cutest and hottest! My heart was pitter pattering and if I'm honest, I was a tad bit jealous of Tally. I want myself an Arlo to rub circles on my shoulder and look at me like I'm his world, and an Olly, Watson and Carson to keep me safe and make me laugh!
Cannot wait for book 3. I am really looking forward to seeing how Carrigan gets out of her pickle and levels of revenge the group can reek!
Bravo Gemma, another fabulous read... You're getting damn good at them!! 😉😘

Arlo’s actions confirmed that he was focused on one goal and didn’t think through not only the consequences, but that Tally could become collateral damage. Abandoned by those who should protect her she feels alone until Arlo and his band of merry men come to her with a plan. The only thing that remains to be seen is can they be trusted or will Tally once again be caught in the crossfire.

The development of the characters is what makes this story so enticing. Arlo shows that there is much more to him than first appears, the strength and determination of Tally just makes us admire her more and when it comes to her twin sister we have more questions than answers. The surprises keep coming and leave us wondering what could possibly happen next not only for Arlo and Tally but for the rest of the characters as well.

Wow that was intense, gripping and so addictive. give me more...

Teenage drama in a world of riches, greed, lies, and deceit.

Book one needs to be read first, The Spare part 2 picks up where the first book left off with Tally no longer being the ghost, the twin no-one knows about, she's very much out in the open and she's out to get revenge on her parents with the help of Arlo and his band of close friends.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, great characters, lots of hot and humorous moments, so overall a great balance to the plot. I was enraptured from beginning to end and I am looking forward to the next book and seeing how Tally will finally get the justice she deserves.

Amazing addtion

The first book blew me away and this addition exceeded my expectations.

More angst and drama.
Steamy scenes and falling in love.
Friendship and loyalty in this is beautiful.

Arlo and Tally really come together in this, when you know you know! And it doesn't take Arlo long to know Tally is his.
Carrigan shows more of an emotional side with their situation but what will happen next???? Cant wait to find out.

Loving this series.
Story is unfolding beautifully.

This is the second half of Tally and Arlo’s story that begins straight from the end of the previous book, which saw Tallulah Archibald having to deal with the consequences of the fall out from the events of the first book.

I thought the last book may have been a fluke because I wasn’t sure I would like to read a book about teenagers or young adults, especially spoilt rich one’s but this story kept me gripped and I really enjoyed the glimpse into the upper class and rich people’s society and structure.

I loved Tally from the first book and even more so now she is more herself and not living in her sister’s shadow. Arlo also redeemed himself and the camaraderie between all of the characters, but especially the boys were sweet.

Carrigan was an interesting villain especially towards the end of the book and it had you questioning is she really the villain or just another pawn in this game.

The ending was interesting because although Tally and Arlo’s story is kind of complete, there are still a lot of unanswered questions and there is certainly potential for spin-off books with the side characters which I am very excited about.

This was a cracking read and one that was a different read because I had not really read anything like this before. I am waiting not so patiently for what happens next now.

WOW WOW WOW.
I'm almost lost for words. This book felt a long time in waiting while we waited to back Tally and Arlo with there friends behind them to reappear to wreak havac once again.
Having read part one of the spare I was enthralled by the characters. The spare part two did not disappoint in anyway shape or form.
We had drama humour blind love deceit friendship and lies. Tally and Arlo are just brilliant and perfect. Weir did and amazing job with these characters and there story. But also the other characters that play such a huge part Carrigan is a super bleep and you want to hate her but the author has other ideas there's a twist that you kinda see coming but yet your still shocked to see. Wier tells us. Of Tally and Carrigan vicious parents and the lengths they will stoop too. She also shows two sides to Arlo but is clever with him and how she portrays him. You watch the fireworks explode between Arlo and Tally then seamlessly unfold the love hate relationship between Tally and her twin Carrigan. Relationships back and evolve and Weir tells them well it's like a movie in ur mind that you just look away from or will the heroine to say some or the hero to play his part and say something. Even the best friends that have a heavy role you just love them all.

The author has a talent for drawing you into the world she creates. A spell that start with the cover moving to the blurb then snatches you mind body and soul at page one till before you know where the past three or four hours have gone you have finished the book.

Warning this is part two and you Do need to read part one first. I repeat this is not a standalone.

Got to give the author props she has the mind with the perfect amount of imagination to intice any reader.
Whether you have or haven't read this author before I beg you to read this series I can't even express how amazing it is.

Come on!
Don't leave me hanging like this 🙏

I think I'm in love with Tally 🥰 Seriously she's tough, real, honest, what you see - truly see - is what you get. She doesn't pretend to be something she isn't (okay her twin withstanding)
You stand tall young lady - call on your inner goddess for strength -
It is your time to shine and you are beautiful!!

Arlo *drying my tears* I'm so dang proud of you don't make me brat slap you

Olly, Carson, Watson I don't think Tally could have conjured a better group of avenging angels if she had crafted you herself.
And Carson ... You be nice I know what you are up to

Fitzy you are coming home with me

Carrigan, it seems awfully convenient for you to suddenly remove your blinders -
Whatever you do - don't doubt the strength they wield as a team. They may be young but they are the future and just arrogant enough to risk everything to acquire what they want

Egg donor? May the toxic in your Botox peel away your mask so all may look upon the ugliness you hide within

Don't worry sperm donor I send you lots of ill wishes and rest assured I will be standing on the sidelines cheering you on as your kingdom collapses around you

I smiled so much during this journey.
For me seeing Tally finally get her moment ...
*Sigh*
Her world is still fraught with danger but her knights are front and center
They will protect their queen

This ends on a major happy note -
Yes a happy note
but on its heels, the soul-sucking evil that is greed and gluttony is quickly closing in

It’s here, It’s here!!!! The Spare part 2 by Gemma Weir is finally here and it’s soooo good. I once again stayed up past my bedtime to finish this book.  The inside look of New York’s upper crust was magnificent.  I can so see spin off books for the supporting characters as college bully romances because these guys are just *sigh* dreamy, yummy, swoon worthy, well you get the idea.  There is lots of fighting and drama and lots of hot and steamy love in the second installment of The Spare.  Book one is a must read first as these are not stand-alone stories, but not to worry you will LOVE it.  This series is unique and almost mind bending in the twisted world of the rich and powerful. 5-Lexington Diamonds for The Spare part 2 by Gemma Weir.

Tallulah Archibald has been living a lie for three years but now someone has found out.  Living in the shadows wasn’t so bad but what if, just once someone saw her for who she really is?  Being Carrigan’s twin means that Tallulah couldn’t have her own life because whenever the need called for it, Tallulah had to slip into a different character, one she hated being.  Arlo Lexington has found a little ghost that a messed-up family has kept hidden away and he wants her to come out and play.  With Arlo and his friends at her side Tallulah might be able to find the courage to stand up for herself and against her family and maybe even find love?

Out of the shadows a lie has been told and now Tally will have the consequences to deal with. What one simple lie has done has brought her to the ground in a fetal position with blood covering her face. RUN that’s what needs to be done to get away RUN is what she will need to do. The only thing is Arlo won’t allow her too. Arlo and the guys end up tracking Tally down, coming in with promises of protection and a plan of sweet revenge. A plan of distraction planned to a T. The only thing now is play with all the right moves and get back what was taken,FREEDOM. The Archibald’s only care about the WILL and will do what ever to get the inheritance. How low will they stoop and who will suffer. And what cost will this lie take on as now Tally is falling for Arlo and Arlo for Tally. Will these two come out on top or will the Archibald’s win it all. How will Carrigan react to this. After witnessing what her parents have done. Will she bow to them and continue with this inheritance ploy or has she finally had enough to take matters in her own hands and be done. Grab this page turner and see.

Well I know I'm obsessed with night time reads but this one was a pure edge of my seat page turner, I just couldn't put down until I had completed the whole thing. Now I need the next in the series.

The end of part one ended in a dramatic way as we were thrown straight back into Tallulah's cliffhanger - Can she escape the clutches of her families grasp and where will she go?

With Arlo and the guys now protecting her, our little ghost has support from the wealth and power she needs to fight against her families evil plot, her only issue has she the strength to do this alone?

Tallulah now knows she needs them to make them fall from the top and will play Arlo at his own game, but is it really just a game they are playing or is more developing?

With Gemma Weir throwing in twists and turns along the way she has a great way of keeping her readers engaged and wanting more - in my opinion Carrigan may show a persona but her true cards are held close to her chest, she has more to show for sure - but what I'm hopeful we will find out along the way!!

This is the second book in the series. You need to read book one first.

With what happened with her parents, Tallulah needs to move out quick. When Arlo finds her in a hotel, he convinces her to move in with him and his dad. Tallulah needs to find a new normal but she doesn’t know who she can trust and who has ulterior motives.

Opinion

I cannot get enough of this series. I literally woke up in the middle of the night thinking of this book and had to finish it.
The main characters are so alluring. The antagonists are pure evil. You feel like there is a definite line between the good guys and the bad until something happens mid book that makes you think that one character may not be so bad.
I couldn’t help but root for Arlo and Tallulah even though they haven’t been together long and they are super young.
This books ends in another cliffhanger. So yet again, I must wait for the next book to come out.
Many thanks to Bare Naked Words for providing me with an ARC of this book.

This book picked up exactly where part 1 ended, and it did not disappoint! Tally is in a impossible situation, continue to do her families bidding or break free from them. Arlo is feeling incredibly guilty, knowing that his lie is ultimately what put Tally in danger.

Arlo and Tally come up with a plan to exact their revenge upon Tally's family, and hit them right where it hurts. The family wants one thing and one thing only, and their plan ensures that they won't receive any of it.

I couldn't put this book down! Tally really comes in her own and blossoms in this book. She finds a self confidence in herself that is amazing to watch and see develop. Arlo is still his self assured, arrogant self who is willing to do anything to keep Tally safe. However, as they are executing their plan, they both start to have feelings that they are scared to show the other. CANNOT wait for the third part of this series!

I really enjoyed this book and the story that develops, I read a lot! and tend to find storylines seeming familiar. This has blown me out the water, not something I have read before and thoroughly enjoying.

The story continues on from book 1, Tally after being forced to be hidden away, finds the curtain pulled back thanks to Arlo who is playing a game, but one he does not understand and one at Tally's expense. This book continues with the web that an inheritance can weave leaving people's lives managed beyond their control. Tally is now free or is she.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Arlo, who I want to hate but cannot love him more and Tally is a sassy women who knows her own worth and is now fighting for herself.

But really GEMMA PART 3............. nooooooooo I am not a patient person so the wait has been kiling me and now I have to wait again. Well done Gemma best I've read of yours yet!

Holy mother of God. What are you doing to us Gemma? You can't just leave me there waiting to see what is going to happen next.

This book carries on from where we left book 1. As it had been a little while since reading it, at first I was trying to put together the end chapter of the 1st book. It didn't take me long to get back into the story and I then devoured it.

I love the story of these two and how their relationship has changed from the 1st book to this. However is it all real or just for show? You will have to read it to find out.

Carrigan has totally surprised me. She is a charcter you love to hate but you see so many sides of her this time round. I love how Will. Carson and Olly are also there to help fight against her parents and have her back. I am so hoping they all get their own stories.

Bring on book 3 and I am happy it won't be too long away. I need to know what happens next.

In case you didn't pay attention to the Title, this is Part Two so that means YOU MUST READ PART ONE FIRST especially since Part Two picks right up where Part One left off. Tallulah, aka Tally, the spare twin definitely has had to go through the fire to go through with Arlo having a big part, yet she's developing into her own which I couldn't get enough of!  I wasn't sure that I would ever warm to him, but since the brilliant Gemma Weir developed the characters big time I did, but who knows how long it will last, only time will tell.  I don't read a lot of teenage stories, but there's something so special about this author that I won't pass on any of her books.I'm still not so sure about the heir, Carrigan, who is a mystery because there's some (not a lot of course) doubt about her now. Everything was bigger this time around, so I can't even imagine what the next part will do to me but I can't wait! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I’m utterly in love with this series...I think this is by far the best one yet by Gemma Weir. I honestly couldn’t wait for part two and it did not fail me...Gemma has written the story brilliantly.

Tally and Arlo are the best couple I’ve read in a long time and the whole story had me on tender hooks, wanting to know what happened next. Throughout the whole story I was waiting for something big to happen but I’ve got the feeling it’s all going to happen in the next part.

All the characters in the story play a huge part and even Tally’s sister at times I wanted to murder her but by the end everything changed and you can’t help but want to help her fight back with Tally.

I’m so eager now for part three and carry on reading this series and see how it all pans out. Definitely a 5 ⭐️ read for me. Absolutely brilliant.

I have really enjoyed reading this new series by this author and this is the second book in the installment. A peak to see what is behind the scenes of the rich but none is what it seems to be and I definitely liked the twists here and there. Can't wait to see what happens next!

After all that has happened Tallulah doesn't see any other choice than to try and leave her life behind as it just takes her on a road she's not prepared to take. When Arlo finally comes to her rescue, he can't believe what she has been through and tries to do whatever it takes to save her from her parents wrath. In all of the turmoil and with their engagement party coming closer, their feelings for each other get stronger and they make up a plan to get rid of her past once and for all... Will she be able to leave that life behind?...

This is not my genre of choice and never will be but .... I found the story captivating. I wanted to know what happened next I love the premise of the story, not like anything I’ve read.
I think what makes this easier to read and forget they are teens is the vast amount of money these characters have. They do grown up activities because they can with little consequence.

I enjoy the push pull of the story and the fact you have no real idea of where it’s going to go.
The story picks right up from where book one ends and then ends again on a small cliffhanger. Leaving you wanting you know the rest.
Right at the end you finally get a glimpse of Carrigan and her voice.
I can’t wait to see where part 3 goes.

As someone not from money, the idea of selling my daughter to the highest bidder is abhorrent.

The treatment of Tally disgusted me. After years of her own parents chipping away at her self confidence and self worth, it unsurprising she feels like shes not really part of Arlos group.

While Carrigan redeemed herself, their parents did not.

As for Arlo, he finally saw Tally for the jewel she is....pity he didnt scream from the rootops the moment he realised he loved her

I loved that despite everything Carrigan did to Tally, she came to her sisters defence, and tried to help her break the terms of the will.

I desperately want Carrigans story now
