A Paranormal Women’s Fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!
Just when Cricket thought things couldn't get much worse, Mee-maw's a witch now too! And she might be the most powerful of them all.
The Crow's Feet Coven of three is finally complete, but hell if any of them know what to do next. With the Organization still hot on their trail and a new enemy they hadn't expected, their burgeoning powers will be put to the test.
If they succeed?
They will stop the senseless killing of witches around the world.
If they fail, their magic will fall into the hands of a being so evil, humanity itself is at stake.
Christine Gael is the women's fiction writing alter-ego of USA Today Bestselling contemporary romance author, Christine Bell, and NYT Bestselling paranormal romance author, Chloe Cole.
The 3rd in the CFC has been found and, well, Cricket, Zoe and Mee-maw all have a lot to learn still about what they can do with their abilities. Cricket and Zoe are getting the hang of things (mostly), but Mee-maw LITERALLY just found the pocket watch and there is a learning curve.
Meanwhile, the bad guys (or bad girl and her organization, I guess) are stirring up trouble behind the scenes. Throw in some bogus criminal charges the crew have to wiggle out of, a shifty police officer, and family drama on more than one front and things are complicated.
Family of both the blood and found variety, glitter bombs, tragic backstory, a little heartache, and a little clandestine kissing. Rawr!
This is a review for the series, not just the third book. Overall impression: I liked it well enough, I didn't love it. Upside: I didn't not like Cricket and Co (I know, I know double negative, but you know what I mean) - which as bad as it sounds is a plus. Many a (potentially) great book was ruined by its unlikable characters. Downside: I didn't really connect with them either. There were elements of a good story there. A lot of classic tropes (magical objects, items of power, witch hunts). A lot of it reminded me of Charmed - power of three, snarky grandmother, long line of witchy ancestors. Even the powers are similar. It's like Charmed - Twenty Years Later. :) As a big fan of the series I definitely liked that, as well as the different ages, it just felt like there was something missing, something to tie it all together. Maybe it had to do with the pacing... a whole lotta nothing, someone does something stupid, mayhem ensues, the End. Oh yeah, and while I'm all for forgiveness and reconciliation the turnaround with Patrick just about gave me whiplash. Happy for the other two new couples though :D
Now they were a compete coven. Me-Maw completed their group but could she wield her power?
The group has to hone their skills and face the ultimate enemy. A witch so powerful she might take them all down adding to her death toll of witches.
The coven is small and they are all novice witches recently coming into their power through objects. It isn't easy and there are plenty of obstacles thrown in their way. Such as life. You know, a husband on his way to being an ex. A boyfriend who ... well you'll need to read about that one. Kids in danger. And that's just a few. The reader just like Cricket and the gang won't have a minute of peace.
Wholly Cow, Mee-Maw is the 3rd witch and what a hoot she is! The Coven is finally complete just in time to face the biggest threat to all witches. A battle to the death. This book is the 3rd and final in the series and also the one that touched me the most. I admit, I was not sure about this series and almost gave up after book one but am so happy I didn't. Join Cricket, Zoe and of course Mee-Maw along with a few new friends on a wild rollercoaster of a ride. See how the whole thing ends, there are a few laughs, some tears and a few surprises along the way. Stealing Time
To say I loved this Crow's Feet Coven series is an understatement for sure. This third (last?) book was perfect in more than one ways. It's a celebration of women in any age, their family bonds, friendship and relationships that reveals a whole picture and everything underneath visible. I love the way Christine Gael writes and this book wasn't an exception. It started exactly where we've been left from previous book and story line flows seamlessly without any flaws. All the characters are written so well you easily fall in love to love or love to hate them. Every question is answered, lose ends tied up but there's a hope for maybe another book? One can dream, right? Absolutely loved 'Stealing Time' with it's bittersweet ending and highly recommend it (entire trilogy!) to everyone.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this it’s so good to read a fantasy that caters to an adult and not a teenager, don’t get me wrong I’ve read some very good ones but you can’t identify with the characters once you have passed fifty and in my case past seventy but the characters in this series are believable and you can empathise with their aches and pains and self doubts. Only one little criticism why do the family’s younger ones seem to be able to look after themselves without any thought going into it?,but apart from that it was brilliant and I look forward to reading more especially as I read several books a week and I don’t want to run out. So I wish you and yours well and keep writing
This is for the series... Book 1 was a bit slow and then sped up very quickly at the end. The end was enough of a cliff-hanger that I decided to read book 2 and then book 3. The overall story was good, but I had a hard time connecting with the characters.
Book 3 has a preview for Finding Tomorrow: A Bluebird Bay Novel. This series is written by Denise Grover Swank and Christine Gael. I've been reading the series as the books are released -- it's good.
Christine Gael absolutely and irrevocably has a way of seeing each generation for the wonders that they are and then she blends this knowledge into a phenomenal book! This was a strong finish to the Crow’s Feet Coven series with a great segue for a fourth and fifth if she chooses. I really hop she does!
The final member of the Crow's Feet Coven was revealed and comes into her powers with the help of her coven sisters (I love that term). They need to strengthen their powers individually as well as collectively in time for the final showdown. Lots of action, emotion, and secrets uncovered all build up to an ending I felt was perfect for these characters. Great trilogy.
My emotions were all over the place reading this book. I felt joy, grief, fear, and heartbreak all in this one book. It was awesome. Great End to this trilogy, at least an end to the over-arching plotline. There is still room to continue on with the coven's stories. I hope it does continue. Standalone books would work well...
When Lizzie is kidnapped the coven taps all sources for help and many questions are answered during the course of the fight to get her back. A bittersweet ending, but perfectly done.
This series was so good. It touched so many feelings and the Magic was perfect as were all the characters. So much joy, fear, touching moments of learning to live with changes of getting older but also riveting storylines.
Beautiful end to the story of the Crow's Feet Coven. While parts were bittersweet, it was wholly satisfying and I loved the time spent with Cricket, Zoe, Mee-Maw, Trudy, Patrick and the rest.
Crow's Feet Coven was finally whole and then it wasn't and than it was again. This was a fun book. It had adventure, romance, serious stuff and a lot of laughter. Good book.
Loved all the twists and turns of the story, with the unexpected magical items and their powers. One more great series of the Paranormal Women Fiction.
I’m reading my way through this rather odd genre. This book - this series - is inoffensive but fairly pedestrian. It could have been much better than it is. If reading the genre, there are stronger choices.
This last chapter of the series was worth the wait and I loved that there were several unexpected twists. I would definitely recommend this, but only in its entirety as a series.
I rarely write reviews because they are so often misleading. There are scenes in this one that might not be everyone's taste but for the most part it is a cute series.
Christine has made me like this genre of books. The coven finally destroyed the villain that was after them but lost a member in the process but gained one in the form of the friend who has been helping them all along. Great little series that I highly recommend.
Loved this book. I ended up staying up until after 3 am to finish it. The story was great. I hope there is another book! Want to see how Cricket and Zoe do with Trudy!
What a fun read! Who knew that being menopausal could be so dangerous! Not menopause itself but unraveling the magic streak you could carry. Highly recommended!
