4.25 stars. I’ve been digging this run. Loved both flashback sequences and the new character we get introduced to here. Bring on issue 3.

Intriguing

Shows more of the alternative timeline in which Michelangelo is the only surviving Turtle. This issue introduces April O’Neil’s daughter. Mostly exposition between her and Mikey. A little let down that there wasn’t more progression in the story, nothing really happened in this one. The writing and art are good and compensate for that. It would still be better if at least the flashbacks had more of a twist or at least something unexpected. Pretty straightforward plot line. One complaint is that these issues are coming out months apart. The release date was pushed out 3 or more times from the date when originally pre-ordered.

Good enough to keep going. So far this has great images. I’d consider picking up a physical copy once the whole series is released and bound into one volume. Hopefully the writing picks up in future issues.

Read issue one via Comixology Unlimited. Got hooked. Read issue #2 from my son's collection.

Not quite the surprise and action as the first issue, but I am into the story. One last turtle! Glad to have April back and let's see what this new Casey can do.

Might pick up the completed collection in large hardback once it is all done.

Continuation of the last issue, the story continues we know who the last turtle is and there some other familiar faces ;) i think the last ronin has a potential to be a good tmnt reboot. A story for a good movie.

Ok so I knew from the last issue this wasn’t going to be happy. The dark series fans had wanted. Well written, brilliantly illustrated and as I said before it hurt my heart. However I thought I was ready. I’m old, an OG fan, prepared...and I was wrong. Oh I was wrong. Never has a graphic novel made me have feelings! What’s THAT about?! There’s still twists, the dark got darker and the looming ending I know is coming makes me need it more.

The moves between scenes are well balanced. There’s no “time skip” feel to it and I hope this quality keeps up. I was afraid it would go downhill after issue 1 but 2 was quite possibly better. I know it was pushed back but I don’t mind if this is what we get!

In this issue, we get more backstory on the lone turtle and how one of his brothers fell. The foot clan has reached new heights in its power over the city. This is issue is darker in color and tone than the first issue!

I'm really loving this story, but it also makes the kid in me very sad.

Amazing

Our Heroes as we grow older sometimes we need to see them age too. See that they are not infallible.

Good follow up, I like the idea of seeing the Turtles fall as the story goes on. This one smelled a little like there could be a prequel series in the works (which I wouldn’t like) but maybe I’m just reading too much into it. This issue convinced me to finish the series even if I don’t like the way it’s going. I’m a fan of lone samurai stories and dystopian scifi futures, so what’s not to like here. I loved the drop into original art style, but I’m longing for a little more with the dialogue (less exposition, more character development, etc) But, in saying that I’m being very nit picky. If you’re questioning it, pick up the series. Also, I learned it’s only supposed to be Five issues, so that’s a +1 in the Positives column too.

An excellent second volume to this series. The pieces are being put together of what happened to his family and how he became the skilled Ronin that he is today.

It was again a little short for my liking but I found the pacing much better with the cool flashback sequences between the present day conversations. There wasn’t much in the way of story progression but I enjoyed the conversations with April and her daughter who we are just introduced to.

I really appreciated the amazing artwork in this volume too. The sequence with Raphael had some incredible shots and I liked the different art style used for Michey’s. It makes me excited for any more creative elements to come.

This issue was much better than the 1st issue. The story is much more engaging, has a certain sadness to it, aand it delves more into what happened in the past. I had an issue with the art (especially the fighting) in the 1st issue, and now i know for certain why. I much prefer Ben Bishop's art style and fighting dinamic than the Escorza brothers rendition. Bishop does the past while the Escorzas do the present story. Also nice addition, for a few pages, from Kevin Eastman (depicting a period in the past).

There is a certain addition of a young female character, which might get annoying if not done right.

Overall, a step up and a much better story. Hope it continues on this path.

This is a good follow up to the first issue, providing background to the events taking place in the narrative's present, while further developing the story. It takes some of the characters from the original comics in an interesting direction, while also developing some new ones well. It also features some good dialogue.

The last book was an interesting introduction, but this is clearly the issue where we get into the meat of the story.

I’ve never read any TMNT before, so I don’t know if they usually take the story this seriously, but I’m loving the depth to this story. Its not pulling any punches and it’s definitely got me hooked. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Excited for what's next

Hope it continues rather than dying or becoming something else. So many comics today just throw stuff at the wall to see what doesn't stick, and then double down on it. So far this is a good start though.

Loved it. A little less action with more backstory and character development than the first issue made this more personal. Dark and somber with a sprinkle of hope that feels like it's building towards heroically tragic redemption.

Big flashback time, including a chunk at the end done in the style of the OG turtle comics. I liked this issue a bit more than the first. April was cool, it was all good stuff. Made me interested to see how it all goes.

A bit short but another great entry. The origin of the ronin is well realized and the artwork is even better than vol 1.

I'm loving this new TMNT series! Even though this story paints a grim, gut-wrenching future, where only one turtle is left alive to avenge his fallen brothers and father.
