Another dark and brutal book showcasing the end of the human world and the Faes make their way around the world destroying, burning and slaughtering.

Another survivor to the plague, Coralie and her human team attempts to strike the enemy by building a bomb. Falling at odds she and a fellow team mate is taken captive. Now to survive with the enraged Fae who is vehemently repulsed by humans and is wounded by their attempt attack. There is only misery and hopelessness.

Coralie's resolve to survive despite her conflicts whether she should die or not. Her words,

'I need to fill it.
I need this all to be over.
I need to die—on my own terms.'

As Cliff and Coralie's journey brackets with sarcasm, abuse and challenges Cliff eventually displays unexpected compassion towards Coralie.

Another horrid female from this series. I cannot like Coralie but she is a tad bit better than Vale. Her vomiting moments gets on my nerves all the time and she complains about mouth breath: says the girl whose mouth smells of gutter.
I like my heroines strong with good rebrutal for whatever the hero makes her go through but when she is a nagging and selfish witch I'm going to pass on.

Set in a dark and dismal world after the Dark Fae come to wreak chaos and death of the apocalyptic variety on the human world. As the fae make their way through Europe,  they pillage and burn every town they encounter. It's not pretty for the few remaining survivors left.

While this is a rather short book, like all of this authors books, it packs a punch. Blackbird is a master of conveying the dark side of human survival in all it's misery, creating a sense of foreboding that encompasses the hopelessness of the whole situation of a broken world.

The series is a spinoff of the other dark Fae series by the same author. Both are brilliant in their simplistic view of a race of aliens, or at least not of this world, warriors set on the absolute destruction of the human world for reasons we can't yet understand.

Definitely recommend this for fans of dark Fae stories.

Set to release every two weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Shadow Fae is the first book/novella in the Dark Fae Extinction series. I really loved Quinn's The Dark Fae series and it's good to be back in this brutal apocalyptical world with a new fierce heroine and a new villainous hero. The story takes place in Europe and our dark fae are on their usual job destroying every human village they pass through. The story follows Coralie who's been surviving with her own group and when the dark Fae finally finds them, she isn't ready to give up without a fight. I really loved Coralie! She's fierce, stubborn, and brave. Unlike vale, Coralie comes from a privileged wealthy family and after the pandemic, she's on her own struggling to survive. The world is even more brutal than the one in Dark Fae series. Besides the dark fae's wrath, there's eternal darkness and a razored tentacle critters wandering in the dark sky. It's so spooky and horrifying! The first book focuses on Coralie and her group planning to fight against the dark fae. It was a short read and I flew through it pretty fast. The story was addicting and I highly recommend it to Laura Thalassa's Four Horsemen fans. I can't wait to jump in to the next book!

Dark Skies is the second in the Dark Fae: Extinction series by Quinn Blackbird. This series releases every two weeks so we don't have to wait long for each new installation.

The world is dark and dismal, showcasing the worst end of the world situations after the Dark Fae travel from their world to ours burning it down and slaughtering almost everyone in their path.

This is a dark and seemingly hopeless life for our FMC. She has all but given up, but wants to take her captor out first.

Definitely recommend this series for those who appreciate dark reads with fae characters.

Dark Days is the third installment in the Dark Fae: Extinction series by Quinn Blackbird. This series releases every two weeks so we don't have to wait long for each new book. Trust me when I say, they are worth the wait if you like dark stories about the Fae.

As I've said before, while this is a rather short book, like all of this authors books, it packs quite a punch. Blackbird is a master of conveying the dark side of human survival in all it's misery, creating a sense of foreboding that encompasses the hopelessness of the whole situation of a broken world.

The Dark Fae are burning and murdering their way through Europe. This is a story of hopelessness and survival. It's dark so of you have triggers, maybe avoid it.

I love it. Its inventive and desolate. Things get a bit more close and personal in this one. Definitely a 5 star highly recommended series by me. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Coralie is living a dystopian nightmare. Come unto them as a plague, the Dark Fae have risen and are upon them all. No longer a story meant to frighten children, the Dark Fae are here to end the human race.

Coralie and some other humans have managed to survive, but just barely. Until one night they are caught in the wrong place at the wrong time attempting to make a strike against the enemy. While half of their number die hideously, Coralie is taken prisoner by one of the Fae after she tries to end his life.

And … that’s where we basically leave things for the rest of the story.

I’m not sure what I was expecting from this two-book set, but it wasn’t this. Coralie’s story reminded me a lot of living through a zombie apocalypse, and I had to keep reminding myself these were Fae, not zombies.

The blurbs about the book led me to believe there would be some hot Dark Fae romance, but instead, there was … nothing. I didn’t notice a kiss or even a smoldering glance.

There was a lot of blustering about by Coralie and the Fae, as well as copious amounts of vomit happening from all involved parties, but nothing sexy. Nothing seductive. Nothing much of anything really.

So, yeah, I’m really glad this was free.

The epic conclusion of the Dark Fae: Extinction series is this 5th installation. Things were left in quite a tense situation at the end of the last book. This book picks up right where it left off and starts off with a bang. I am going to miss these characters! But I have to say, I love the name drops of the main characters from the other Dark Fae series.

I adore this series and Quinn Blackbird definitely has a way with words. Her stories always leave me wanting the next book or mourning the end of a series when the last is finished.

Definitely recommend for fans of dark paranormal romance who like the dismal dark side of humanity and those who aren't quite so human as well.

This is a keeper of a series. LOVE IT!

Wow.. ok.. we are clearly starting off Feb really bloody strong.

I know I keep saying it after every book but I did NOT expect anything other than some quick read fun from this series, but I am fully invested and dare I say slightly obsessed. This is definitely the best one yet; things have turned spicy and the danger to Coralee is increasing, which only adds to the tension.

Whyyyyy did Quinn Blackbird have to end this on such a cliffhanger..?! Does she not understand that I have a read-along book to finish arrgggg!!

Dark Skies is the second installment in the Dark Fae Extinction. It's a rapid release series. The story continues from where it was left off in the first book. Coralie gets captured by the dark Fae when Spike(the creep who's also human) reveals that she's a Kuri. Despite her captivity, Coralie refuses to give up and promises herself that she'll kill the Dark Fae. I really admired Coralie's strong determination and I'm glad that she didn't give up hope. Her only vulnerability is her weak stomach that can't handle gore. The sight of gore makes her vomit easily. Her captor the dark fae warrior was an intriguing character. He's ruthless but I still love him. I'm glad he wasn't too cruel. During their journey, he promises to punish her for trying to kill him. Spike was a total creep. He's another human from Coralie's group. He tries to take advantage of Coralie and boy, did I loved the way she kicked him? It was hilarious! The romance was a slow burn. I enjoyed every interaction between the Dark Fae and Coralie. After that cliffy ending, I can't wait to know how their relationship progresses further in the next book. So far, the story was addicting and Captivating! I can't stop turning the pages. I just finished it in one sitting! I seriously can't wait to read the next book!

2.5 stars.

I didn't like this one. rtc. Basic points I want to remember are 1) Lack of character depth for the heroine Coralie (especially compared to Vale) 2) The heroine had personality traits I found extremely annoying 3) Cliff is a lame name for a fae. The name Cliff makes me think of Clifford the Big Red Dog or an accountant 4) The amount of vomiting in this series was ridiculous 5) I simply didn't find the plot compelling and I couldn't buy into the H/h's connection.

I do like this author's writing style & talent for worldbuilding. I enjoyed The Dark Fae series so much, I'm thinking I may need to give up this world and try a completely different universe because no other couple is going to live up to Vale & Caspan. I'm obviously the odd man out since many of my GR friends liked Coralie more than Vale, but I did not.

Shadow World is the 4th book in the Dark Fae: Extinction series and continues just after the previous book ends. I am a huge fan of this world and these characters. Blackbird is very talented with her writing; it grabbed me and didn't let go.

This is one of those series I don't want to end. I really hope there are several spin off series. I feel like there must be so much more to learn about the fae, the kuris, and the desolation of the world by the hands of the fae. I even understand their reasoning. It's quite thought provoking.

I definitely recommend this series, but make sure you read all the others before starting this one. I love it!

I was I initially drawn to this series because Blackbird’s previous series, “Dark Fae” blew me away so I was excited to get back in to this deliciously, dark apocalyptic world! Her rapid releases tend to be short but combined together, have always produced an amazing story. The world building & character development is one of my “must haves” & Shadow Fae hit all of the right spots to make this a 5 star read yet leave me yearning for how the plot will unfold! I can’t wait to experience more of Coralie’s survival & journey in the Dark Fae realm!

The second series in the Dark Fae universe starts off slow and steady for an apocalyptic novel. You don't need to have read Dark Fae to understand this, but if you have just know that it's quite a different beastie.

We don't dwell on the world ending, survivors getting together and close companionships forming - no, this is a character-led story, and our protagonist Coralie is an unashamedly cowardly narcissist. Her self-centred narration flicks between telling us about her situation in a world where the skies are night black and her own recollections of life before. Much like the first series, she's not your average leading lady. She has a difficult past to match her uncertain future, and her mental health troubles still dog her.

I loved the flickers of eccentricity in her narration style, coloured by the idea that English isn't her first language (not that it reads like a bad translation). There's something almost poetic at times, blunt and to the point at others. Maybe I would have liked a little more about the people Coralie got together with and their group dynamic, but to her they're unimportant unless they have a function (i.e protecting her) so it makes sense she just doesn't pay them much mind.

There is some action as things go along, but it's towards the end of the episode where things really hot up. It sets the stage for part two, where finally there are some people Coralie deems worthy of her attention... If just because, for what it's worth to her still, they hold her life in their hands.

Definitely a different approach to an apocalyptic survival story.

Read : Dark Fae Extinction # 1-5

This was actually not much different from the previous book. It looks like the same book but different characters. Coralie had so many injuries it actually started to get ridiculous, especially since she could go on like she had Duracell batteries up her ass.

With so little food and drink, you won't be able to vomit, urinate or shit as much as she did.
Kissing.....with all that blood, vomit and no toothpaste......

Just nooooo!!!!
Chemistry between her and Cliff

Ending....rushed!

I am really disappointed because i loved the dark Fae (Vale's story), but i guess this was just too repetitive, the author did not deliver anything new, it was same old, just different characters. The characters from previous book had more chemistry and banter that i really felt, these two are just forced love couple.

Before I begin my review for Shadow Fae (Dark Fae Extinction book one) by Quinn Blackbird, I would personally like to thank the author, the publishers and Booksprout for the opportunity to read this ARC and I have reviewed it honestly.

Return to the intense, apocalyptic world of darkness of the Dark Fae with a brand new novella series featuring new characters, an endless night, an unforgiving fae army and the death of human kind. The endless dark is spreading; prepare your soul for corruption.

Shadow Fae features, but is not limited to, the following themes:
○ NA fantasy
○ Dark fantasy
○ Fae
○ Fae army
○ Graffic violence
○ Apocalyptic
○ Dystopian

My overall rating for Shadow Fae is…

4.5 Stars!

Set in the same world as Dark Fae, Shadow Fae is just as exciting, just as spooky and all the more violent. It's incredible, really, how the bleak blackness of the apocalyptic land reaches right into your soul as you traverse the tale. Blackbirds' impeccable writing draws you in and snatches you up in maws of shadows and gore. As a reader, I wouldn't want it any other way.

Dark Days is the third installment in the Dark Fae Extinction. It's a rapid releases series. Dark Days continues from where it was left off in Dark Skies. Once again fails to kill the Dark Fae warrior and now she must face his wrath. He kills spike and makes her responsible for his death. He mentally tortures her for her defiance.
Well, this series is getting better with each installment. We finally get the dark and twisted side of our characters. Their attraction is forbidden and I'm glad that we finally get some action. With his hot and cold personality, the dark fae isn't ready to give up on her. He might be her protector, but he's not her savior either. Things get pretty intense when Carolie and the Fae warrior's path collides with two dark Fae who're wicked and monstrous. That ending just killed me! I need the fourth book right now!

I highly recommend this series if you're into dark and twisted NA romance, dark fae, flawed characters, and post-apocalyptic setting.

So this is the first book in the second Dark Fae Series. I loved the first series so was so excited to hear that a second series was coming.
This book is about Coralie, one of the few humans left in the world. She has spent so long trying to survive but has decided to take death on her own terms, especially if she can take some Dark Fae with her.
I think Coralie is a brilliant and strong character, she looks out for herself and trust very few if any! This book is setting up the series with some Dark Fae encounters. It ends on a good cliffhanger ready for book 2. I am looking forward to reading more of Coralie and the Dark Fae

OK I fully did not expect this to be as good as it was...

It's a Dark Fae novella (just realised there is a Dark Fae series that I haven't read yet oops) but it can definitely be read alone. It was so fast paced and I fully felt immersed in the apocalyptic world with Corralie; the author creates a very vivid picture in your mind from the off-set.

Highly recommend this if you fancy a fast-paced, apocalyptic novella series for in-between your chunky bois. Who can resist dark fae though?!

There is no steam in this first one as it is setting up the world but you can definitely tell it's coming... and I am fully invested.

After the cliff hanger of book 4 I HAD to read book 5 straight after work today!

Although I'm giving this one 4 stars, the series as a whole gets 5 stars from me. There are 5 novella books of around 120 pages each. It follows Coralie on earth as she fights to survive the devastation and destruction caused by the invasion of the dark fae. Humans are either killed by the dark fae or taken as slaves, but Cora has no intention of going quietly.

This series was SO BLOODY GOOD we had the best time reading it. Don't you just love when books get you giddy!

WARNING: This series is quite gory and also has a fair bit of vomiting so if you are squeamish it might not be for you 😅

You could cut the tension in this episode with a knife.

After the slower pace of part 1, here we get more into the "action" - or at least, Coralie's journey with the creepy Spike and the even creepier dark fae warrior whose actions are as unreadable as his chiselled face. I loved the little details about Coralie's old life and how little things reminded her of the times before the fae-pocalypse. They made her seem more real, more relatable. Her narration has that feeling of someone speaking English as a second language, and the quirks come across as creative rather the awkward. The atmosphere is so grim and brooding as the group travel together.

And the ending. Mind the cliff indeed; I need to know what happens next!

Short but held my interest.

Not a super fan of Coralie. Liked Cliff although I found his name distinctly not fae like.

Her constant desire to die and take everyone down with her was annoying but I liked his constant need to save her-even against his better judgement. He was a bit opaque. Wasn’t a lot of feels as we didn’t really know what he was thinking and he wasn’t particularly expressive but his love her was obvious through his actions. The “touch her and die” attitude is always a welcome component in the story.

Liked his wings and the “evate” mates part of the story. Of course, it’s the same world as cursed shadows so recognized the world.

Wasn’t invested like the cursed shadows, given it was short but liked the ending.

Would recommend this as a short but good read.

I received this book as an ARC review & immediately cleared out my afternoon to read this! In Book 1 in her rapid release focused on introducing the characters, the world building (Quinn is absolutely phenomenal at this) & the beginnings of the plot! Book 2, Dark Skies allowed us to get to know the characters more thoroughly which only makes me hungrier to know more as each of these characters develop!

I absolutely love Coralee, she has a depth to her that I find most authors struggle with. Her good traits & bad traits make her that much more relatable and I am very invested to find out where this journey takes her!

As this story is unraveling, I 10/10 recommend. It’s everything I love in a good dark romance. I’ll be on the edge of my seat awaiting the next release after that ending!

Book two starts right where book one ended. We're following Coralie and spike as they start a journey with the dreaded dark fae warrior. The story flows beautifully, not rushing the scenes to give us insight on the fae, the dark warrior himself and the thought processes of what it's like to be a captive in this dark world. I loved the small conversations between Coralie and the warrior, giving us lots of angst and discovery. The ending will have you gasping and needing the next book, as you'll crave to know what will happen. It's a great read, touching of subjects and thoughts that are dark, tragic and real.

Ahhh I'm loving this series so much I NEED to know what happens after that last page omg..

When I started this series I thought it was just going to be one of those classic short & steamy reads that would get the usual 3 stars. Boy was I wrong! I am absolutely loving the plot, the apocalyptic setting and Quinn Blackbird's writing.

I've been so pleasantly surprised by how good this novella series is! What a great choice for a spontaneous buddy read with Katherine ❤

Dark Skies is book 2 in the Dark Fae Extinction Series and continues exactly where book 1 finished. Coralie (and another human called Spike) was been captured by a Dark Fae. Coralie has had enough of her life, trying to keep herself safe from the Dark Fae and after the last attempt failed wants it all to just end. Buts this she refuses to cower to the Dark Fae that has captured and is determined to stop him even if it ends herself in the process.
I love Coralie's character in this series, just a strong character despite even that she goes through, refusing to give up. Looking out for herself in a world where that is the only way to survive.
This is a series that i would recommend especially if you love reading dark books. This series has hooked me and i cant wait for the next book in the series
