Gauri is an unpretentious story of a woman who handles the hurdles of life with courage and profound thinking. Her character is similar to that of many women we see in our lives. But what is different is the dramatic twist in the tale, which you won’t see coming.
The protagonist Gauri is patient and persistent, with an undying love and affection for her husband, much like many women in the country. Indeed, Gauri’s story is the tale of many women in India, who sacrifice their needs, desires and dreams for the sake of people dear to them.
This work of fiction is a tribute to every unsung woman in every household. A big salute to these strong women, without whom society will perish.
The author is a regular blogger and runs an exclusive website to express his ideologies about the world. The author is known for his quick wit among his friends. He is a motivational speaker who has spoken at several institutions, inspiring youngsters with his realistic articulation. Sathya Sam is an avid reader, who especially likes brain-twister stories. He strongly believes that if a story and its characters do not occupy the mind space of readers when they wake up the next day, the author hasn’t done justice to the piece of writing.
I would say this book is such a fun entertaining read inspite of all the heavy societal issues it deals with.
The book delivered more than I had expected in terms of character development, the plot progression as well as the ending.
I didn't expect the twists in the story when I wasn't at all expecting them!
The story portrays the lives of Gauri and Shiva who have faced enough drama and hatred from everyone around, most importantly from Shiva's family and relatives alike.
At first, I thought it would be a contemporary fiction dealing with a normal family life and the main female character, Gauri, suffering throughout the story.
How wrong I was!
It's this main character who has changed the outlook of women overall.
This character showcases well how smart, how determined, how caring, how devoted, how selfless, how a woman can change the lives of many around her!
Kudos to the author for bringing up real life issues that the youth of today are facing, specially those with unsupportive parents, regarding their career choices, their marriage plans and their future. I appreciate how the sensitive issue of marital relationship and infertility have been handled quite well.
Each of the characters are given equal strong presence and role, both the good and the bad. The character of Gauri comes out more stronger because of Shiva, his family, his job and his overly affectionate ways to others. How Gauri handled matters from the very beginning till the end totally took me by surprise! How I wish every woman has her capability and maturity to handle things and not take things impulsively.
I find the writing quite simple and straightforward. It's so easy to get into the book and get engrossed in the story till the end.
I find the romance quite realistic and happening. Amazingly well done I say. It's tons apart from the usual contemporary romances I have read from Indian authors so far.
Some parts get quite sad regarding Shiva's family issues as well as things getting complicated because of an innocent relationship, things turned a bit tragic now and then but what surprised me was the timely humour out of nowhere! There's this particular scene towards the end that I actually laughed out loud while reading the book with tears in my eyes (as the characters were suffering a lot) and then I knew everything was going to be alright.
I enjoyed this book so much. What I got to learn from the writing and the story was great things come from simple things and we as human need to be quite patient and think using our utmost capabilities in handling our problems rather than giving into thinking about revenge, easy ways or unwanted paths and self-harming thoughts and actions. Ultimately, the good ones triumphs over the evil. So well written. The writing improved quite a lot throughout the book.
I find the cover quite apt and relevant.
Kudos to the author for writing something quite relevant and realistic and not something just focussed on romance and unrealistic perfect lives.
And yes, this is a debut novel! I see lots of potential in the author.
Looking forward for more books in the future, author.
Gauri is a debut book written by Sathya Sam, who is a blogger and artist. He devotes this book to all the women who strive in their conjugal lives, especially Indian women. The story is a work of fiction, but it is relatable on multiple levels if you were ever given attention to the struggles a woman faces in her entire lifetime.
The protagonist Gauri and Shiva fell in love, and they married without the blessing of Shiva's parents. They boycotted and cursed them. Both the characters have their fair share of struggles, but they find solace in each other's company until one day Shalini came into their life. She was Shiva's student pursuing MTech from CVR College. She considers Shiva as a father figure, but their conversation gives the vibe of something else to me. Then start all the lying and hiding, which creates trouble in paradise.
The story has a few twists and turns that make it interesting, but the end disappoints me, not because it was a felicitous ending, but I felt that Gauri should choose her own path and not wasting her time on someone as ignorant as Shiva. The story has some grammatical flaws that I always find if the publisher is Notion Press. They seriously need to change their proof-readers. Apart from this, it is a fast-paced fiction story that will help you to ponder over the sacrifices a woman made. I recommend it.
Gauri is the story of a woman who battles the world and society for what she thinks is right. Her love for her husband Shiva is unconditional and selfless, almost bordering on devotion. Gauri is the story of one woman and at the same time many women who often sacrifice their dreams and aspirations for the sake of their loved ones.
This book revolves around Gauri and Shiva. They meet in college and fortunately fall in love and soon get married. They become the happiest couple ever but eventually, something happens and it changes everything in their lives.
What changes everything? Who did wrong? Did anything get back to normal? To know these answers go grab a copy for yourself.
Through this book, the author has described what all hurdles women have to go through in their lives, how they cope up with everyone. I liked the way the story is narrated. The characters are very well developed. The characters felt like real-life people. The twist in the story is amazing. It kept me hooked till the end.
I must say the author has done a very good job with his debut novel. It was a good read.
The book Gauri by Sathya Sam is an emotional ride that comprises of different life events from the life of Shiva where Gauri acts as a catalyst to his life and another girl Shalini is also a huge part that shapes the overall destiny of Shiva. Shiva and Gauri falls for each other and against the family’s opinion, Shiva somehow gets married to his love of life. Gauri is an understanding and simple girl who always encourages Shiva to do what is right rather than what is easy. This is the quality that forces Shiva to make his career as an educationist. He becomes lecturer in a very prestigious college and there he meets Shalini who derails the life of Shiva. The unexpected attention that Shiva gives to his student Shalini, becomes the seed of a big problem between lives of both the characters. Another issue that Gauri and Shiva were battling in their life was the issue of not being able to become parents. They were trying everything but something was not right. Gauri was now trying to understand her husband but was failing to do so. This sums up the whole story of Gauri – The Book. Now coming to the review of the book. PROS: The story is good. I liked that the story is having good depth in it. The characters are well described. Specially the character of Shiva, it grows with the story and that connects you more with him. The language is lucid. The prologue is intriguing. It holds your attention instantly. The role of Gauri in the climax was also something that came as unexpected twist in the tale. CONS: The flow of the book. For me the overall flow of the story was somehow disturbed. Coming back to the book, as the story of the book was quite lovely I would definitely recommend everyone to read it once. I would love to read more from the author in the coming future soon. My Ratings: 4/5
Let me start of by saying that this is not just a book, it is much more than that. You'll see yourself becoming a part of this when you'll start reading this. It talks about family, drama, love, relationships, dogmas of the society, breakups and everything what you've seen or felt. It is a good novel that develops lightness and darkness in the souls of its characters. You may want to rush through this book at a sprinting pace because it is delicious, but it's no good that way.
Plot The story is about Gauri and Shiva. Shiva and Gauri fall for each other and against the family’s opinion, Shiva somehow gets married to the love of his life. The protagonist, Gauri is a portrayal of calm, smart, caring, passionate, everything. Gauri works at a IT firm and Shiva is a Professor in a very reputed university.
Enters Shalini, a student in Shiva's class. Shiva and Shalini create a bond. They started talking, eating food together and Shalini became an important part of his life. Gauri first objected to the relationship between her husband and Shalini, but later agreed by realizing her husband’s clear intentions. Turn of events, depicts how harshly Shalini left their lives and how Shiva’s actions turned unruly due to this. This book had me laughing, smiling, and crying all at the same time
Completed the entire book in a day. Gauri.. What a lady she is! There's so much to learn from her character. Kudos to the author for a great work! Keep telling your stories, Dear Author!

What mskes Gauri to accept everything with a smile and not give up? Will Gauri be able to solve everything?
•Best debut novel which deals with some important societal issues like marital life and difficult pregnancies; the burden given to them by the society, the way women get treated.
•The writing of the story is engaging and crisp The plot and the storyline are outstanding. Actually I have no words to describe it. Author has done a great job by creating this story.
•Gauri is my most favorite character, not that I didn't like other characters but I genuinely feel Gauri is a character who has been portrayed with extreme intricacy and complexity with a certain depth. Really loved how strong a character she is. Gauri potrays each and every women.
This book feels right at home, it portraits real and raw characters. In the modern era where everything is just a touch away, distance between people had grown widely. The modern human feels lonely most of the time, friendship and relationships have become selfish and depends on what you’re willing to provide in return.I won’t say that this is a story of Gauri alone, but Shiva- a man living in 21st century, who failed his family’s expectations and now living a life of an orphan, because he chose Gauri over anyone else, the same girl who made him what he is today, the reason behind his success. This modern orphan man feels lonely as a wife alone cannot provide the comfort of many other relationships that are vital for our survival. Hence, he got abused by a girl, who needed emotional support and treats him as family only to leave him once her needs are fulfilled. At this very point, I expect Gauri to never forgive Shiva, even though I understand his relation with this girl was purely guardian-kid one but still, I felt betrayed but Gauri overcame this emotion and tackled the problem smartly, she not only reunites Shiva with his family but she makes sure that he won’t let anyone take advantage of him. It’s not just a love story- but it forces you to think about the importance of family, friends and special ones. It forces you to think that there are people out there who isn’t looking for companionship to get laid or to satisfy their lust but just for the sake of companionship. At last, Gauri taught me to think outside the box, to feel for the others but still not ignore your own worth. There were few grammatical errors that could’ve been avoided for better reading experience.
Being a woman isn't easy. And this book kinda shows how a woman who suffers through hell still stays strong and happy. . The book revolves around two people, Gauri and Shiva. Both of them were in the Same college and fell in love with each other but Shiva's parents reject their relationship and they had to marry without their blessings. . While everything was going smooth between them as Gauri is a very understanding and supportive wife. She encourages Shiva for his future and teaches him to do what's right not what's easy. And to make his career she completely forgets herself. . Shiva becomes the professor in a very prestigious college and here he meets Shalini one of her students. He gives her special attention and this creates the seed of problems in the life of Gauri and Shiva. . Do you think Shiva isn't loyal? What would be the end of the book? . Well, irrespective of what their relationship is like, Gauri always stands for right. She is the kind of girl who is an inspiration to many others. I just want to appreciate the author for writing Gauri's character so beautifully making her my inspiration. . This book is a must-read for all the ladies out there. I loved the story and the writing style of the author is also great.
▪️What all women has to sacrifice to fulfill others needs ? ▪️Do people realize women too have their own lives ?
▪️So Gauri our protoganist is a modest young woman who has gone through so much in life and only with her courage and profound thinking she was able to overcome all hurdles.she is no special she is one among the million faces of women. Her character is similar to that of many women we see in our lives. So there is lots of twists and turns in this story. It's a fast paced story with strong narration in a contemporary style of writing. The characters make a deep and intense connection with you till the end of the book.so gauri and her husband Shiva is happily married and then that days comes of despair and they not happy again.
▪️What had happen?
▪️Will all the things get right Back as it was?
▪️Well to know these things just go grab this amazing book and read...
What can I say about this book??? It was a truly magnificent experience reading it. The book was nicely written and the storyline was smooth and easy to read. The author did a great job in conceptualising the characters and the characters' development could be seen throughout the book. The book was a great experience for me. The best part was the ending of the novel as it was very emotional and touching. The story had many elements of real-life and the flow of the tale was very interesting. I was hooked till the end and can't wait to read more of this author's novels.
The paperback version of the book was really nice and had easy to read font and the book was very interesting. Overall I loved the novel. I wish the best to the author and will keep my eyes out for his next novel. A must read from my side.
A simple family story is well structured and narrated with swift turn and twist ...Reluctantly started but thrilling sequences made me glued to the fiction till the end .The author graduated to be a good writer in his first book itself. At the end, the protagonist and articulate Gauri risked her self to teach hard lesson -good message ...Shiva at fault to give too much leeway to his student and suffered stress as a result ...drunk and become exhibitionist with out inhibitions.....college showed the door.. ...Finally to land him job he deserves richly .....Being professor in a college is tiresome... hill station scenario spell binding ..mind-blowing sensual rather sexual sequences in the story is vivid . ....treat for honeymoon couples. ... Language flow is quite marvellous and indeed a value addition. ...stong recommendation to read once and celebrate family reunion. ...
On the whole the story is just like a incident happening to a girl next door. The characters are very friendly and familiar and I could relate then easily to the people around me. It was really a pleasure to read such a realistic story and it has become so close to my heart. My overall experience was fabulous, I really enjoyed each and every part of the story.
Gauri - Is definitely worth reading, it is a family story recommended for all husband's and wives to understand themselves and to be aware about the people who they interact with and also to have the trust and love on each other and be loyal to one another.
This is a beautiful fictional story. This is a beautiful blend of reality and contemporary world. The book focuses on our protagonist, Gauri and her husband, Shiva. They are similar to any regular couple of the current Indian society. A young couple who faces the real life issues. I won't give you any spoilers but I must appreciate that the author has penned down the reflection of real life society in this book. The focus goes straight to the role of women that how a modern woman can and is managing herself and her family. She is capable of handling her role well. The narration is good. The language used is lucid. The words selection is easy and simple making it a good read for all.
*Recieved as a review copy* . As the blurb already suggests, 'Gauri' is the story of a strong typical female protagonist. It is a story about the relationship between Gauri and Shiva and how they overcome all their financial, emotional obstacles together. How they fell in love, how they get married regardless of their parents disapproval, how a certain character enters into Shiva's life and their lives become upside down....all these add spice to the story. This book is filled with lust, romance, modern issues faced by younger generation and so much more..the story had so much potential ngl. The first part of the story was quite impressive. It was very relevant to real life scenarios. What disappointed me was the ending. I found it quite unrealistic. Sure the many twists and turns of the book keep the overall story pretty interesting, I wanted to read more about Gauri as she seemed to me such a strong protagonist and such a beautiful representation of Indian women. On the other hand, her husband seemed pretty immature to me. The story is filled with so many characters and how their lives intertwine together because of the decisions taken by the lead. I loved reading about Anjali and Ahmed, they were very wholesome ❤️✨. The language is lucid and simple that makes you flow with the storyline so easily, making it a perfect read for the beginners.

Gauri, a woman with a million lives. The title is enough to pull the readers to the book because tales of women are unprecedentedly accepted of late. But as the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. It is not the story of Gauri. It is the story of Shiva and how Gauri became an inevitable part of Shiva's life and how she, remaining in the background changed his life forever.
Gauri by Sathya Sam Book Review
Knowing Gauri through Shiva Shiva is born in a typical middle-class family to an irresponsible and abusive father and a submissive mother. Growing up seeing a toxic relationship between his parents, Shiva craved love. As much as it is expected, he finds his love in Gauri. Like the love-stricken teenager that he is, he proposes to her. But Gauri being her is taken aback by this insolence of proposing a girl without knowing her. The author directly points to the clarity of vision and strong headedness of Gauri. the same can be seen when she recognizes Shiva's teaching talent and urges him to take it as a career option.
Familial protests against a relationship is not a rarity even now. Shiva's mother's character is a multi-dimensional one and the color of the character changes when he proclaims his love for a girl whom she doesn't approve of. This mother can be seen anywhere. The representative of the opportunistic humans who decides to shake hands with the enemy just t get even with someone else whom they hate more. Thus Shiva and Gauri start living together and build a small universe. Small, because the Gauri could not conceive due to reasons unfathomable to the couple. There is a sequence where Gauri is being publicly humiliated about her infertility. The sequence would make the readers want to see Gauri's trauma of being humiliated. But the author stands out in his approach of not doing so. Because if the plot has maneuvered into the track the book would have fallen into the category of a daily sop screenplay.
The twist that is left to the readers' perception: Further, Shiva meets Shalini and the plot has a steep twist. The author has left it to the readers to decided what the connection between Shiva and Shalini is. The perception of the readers decides whether it is an extramarital relationship, or an overboard friendship, or just a toxic relationship. For nowhere in the book, the author mentions any romantic interest by Shiva or lack of interest towards Gauri. On the contrary, he is transparent towards her. Hence I like to perceive it as a special friendship that happened because of Shiva's fragile mental frame or imbecile emotions state. The climax is controversial. There could be arguments like Gauri should have done more, Gauri should not have done as much or any preference the readers would have.
The controversial Climax: As a reader, I loved Gauri for what she did but I would have put my foot forward way earlier. The title and the blurb are misleading. Reading those if you are expecting a daily sop heroine's story of tribulations, you will be disappointed. One should approach the book without prejudice. The narration is simple and vernacular and hence would be appealing to the masses. Personally, I would like to see more experiments from the author in terms of literature. Or a sequel maybe!
Title: Gauri Author: Sathya Sam The format I read: Ebook Publication: Notion Press

✨
My review:
Gauri is such a wonderful book which talks about how girls sacrifices so much for their family. It talks about the the societal pressures which girls have to go through start from the marriage to pregnancy till the end. The way woman gets treated and how they have to live up to everybody's expectations.
The book focuses on the lovers i.e. Gauri and Shiva, who feel in love in college and gets married soon but no happiness is long lived. Soon after their marriage, starts the battle, the hurdles and they way they try to cope up with the obstacles left me speechless. I like the romance and moreover I love the way author portrayed the other beautiful relationships and friendship, it is worth reading. How beautiful and pure these are!!
Talking about the characters, I m so impressed the way the author portrayed the characters, they aren't looking like fictional character. They looks so realistic that for a second I thought I was reading someone's real life story. I mean, author has such a beautiful way to organise and give life to fictional characters. They are shown as such mature and realistic. A book requires the best work on portraying the characters and the author did the great work.
Let's come to Gauri, the best part was that Gauri wasn't portrayed as catastrophe woman but as a mature and a smart one who is handling the obstacles given by the society so maturely while society tries to rip her apart, but she is the kind of a woman who would fight toes to heel without getting shunned.
The language is easy to understand and it is a fast paced book which doesn't waste time by over writing the things which are not needed! Everything in the book looks so perfect. As much as you read it, you will want to read it more and more. This is the best part of the book.
This book gives so much than just an insight of what woman goes through on daily basis. To know more about this book, you have to grab a copy of it.
The story begins with the love story of Gauri and Shiva. They were in college and always in love kind of couple eventually. Gauri, the protagonist, works at a firm and is a caring, loving, passionate, understanding women and is always there with Shiva through his thick and thin. Whereas Shiva is doing excellent at his age and is an assistant professor at a renowned college. However, life isn’t as easy as it always looks from the outside and their happiness start fading away when they were not able to have a child. Afterwards, the entry of Shalini, his student, changed a lot of things in the couple’s married life.
I did not expect to love this story so much but I did. It’s hard to believe that it’s author’s debut novel because he has done a terrific job. The way he wrote all the characters, those were too realistic and believable, somewhere we all can relate with this story at some point. Also, he let those characters develop in this story in their own pace which is worth applauding. I’d say that it’s not romantic novel rather a realistic novel. Moreover, we read and understand the various stages of a marital life. How society treats men and women differently? A lot of societal problems and important issues have been highlighted well through this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and its worth a read. It’s one of those books which you don’t get on with much expectation but by the end, it shakes you from within. It’s a memorable read and journey of Gauri and Shiva was truly remarkable. I must add that I liked the ‘writer’s note’ in the end. It’s intriguing. I never expected a male author to write about the hardships of women at this length. Kudos to the author! We need more authors like Sathya Sam. If you guys haven’t read it yet, then you should now then you’ll know what I’m really talking about. MUST READ.

Once i picked this book it was tough to keep it aside or rather stop thinking about it. Author has portrayed real life struggles of a woman. Many questions arise in my mind often, Can a man switch house after wedding and stay with strangers? Can a man stay away from his parents forever? No right, why? I really want to question this to anybody who has made this rule that only women have to shift houses after marriage.
This book really got on to my nerves. It was a fictional piece however it has more of non fictional elements in it. The book showcases struggles a women faces in her life at different stages yet manages to swim through those with a smile.
The book showcases true depth in characters i fell in love with Gauri who is a strong and dedicated women in the book. The books shows various struggles that pilled in Gauri's life one after the other which included marriage with Shiva, unsupportive in-laws, having issues getting pregnant, unfaithful husband and what not.
Gauri portrays each and every women, the things that happened with her I am sure is happening with 20% of the married women or maybe more. Is that why girls from young age are taught to “ADJUST”? because parents know her life can change into a tsunami at a blink of an eye. I would recommend this book to all women out there because I am sure you would learn a lot from it, and to all men so that you know what not to do in a married life.
The book is simple, the writing is lucid, the font size, quality of papers everything is top notch. I would say it is a perfect fiction that teaches you a lot on emotional level.
World would be a better place if more authors wrote about real life issues.
FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF ''Gauri..!!: One Woman. One Story. A Million Lives" by Sathya Sam
Genre - Fiction(Contemporary Romance)
Rating - 4/5
QOTD: A book that has spoken volumes to you?
When I say books can say anything and everything, I couldn't give you the best example till now though they are a few that I have already recommended. I need more and more because having books is never more. I mean, you got it, right? Just our booklovers' stuff, bro! And yeah, this book that one kind that will make you peak volumes of it! This book touched my heart, and I mean, this is so beautiful to the extent that I can't even explain about. I just love this book, and that's it. . This book is about Gauri and Shiva, a very ordinary love story without any drama, which should be appreciated. Otherwise, it will be tough to read the same plot in all the books, you know? Ya! So later, there are many challenges that they should face in their lives, which has beautifully written. Those events were also so beautifully described, which should be appreciated for the efforts. The author has also mentioned all the issues that women are facing these days and e.t. This book has given this book a new perspective and turns to look at it, which is fantastic. . The language is lucid so does the writing, which is beautifully simple but elegant at the same time. The characters were developed so well that e wonder why this book has ended instead; you just want to be with those characters. But I have some issues with some errors in the book, editing, and the cover page, which could be improved to reach a broader audience.

There are a few books where the story can be connected to million readers. This is one such book. Title : Gauri : One woman , One story – million lives , like I mentioned above this one story can be connected to millions of women , considering the similar situations in their lives. The title makes us more inquisitive to know about the story of Gauri. Cover page : The cover page is very crucial considering the importance of beach in the story. Cover page is pleasant and simple. Plot : The book revolves around the story of Shiva and Gauri , who are sweethearts since college. Shiva , comes from a struggling family where he has to tolerate irresponsible father. They face a lot of hurdle to get married , only to get a separation from the parents. Gauri motivates Shiva to become a teacher and he in turn becomes an excellent professor in no time. Gauri too climbs the ladder of success in her IT company. After a few years they are depressed as they are childless. Somehow life goes on smooth and ordinary until Shiva gets close with his student Shalini. Shalini , Shiva’s student involves him in every part of her life. The life will never be the same for Gauri and Shiva again. There is a twist in the story because of the help and suggestion by Dr. Sanjana , the couple’s counsellor. Writing style : The story has the capacity to glue the readers. The style of narration is simple and gripping. This is definitely a good read. What happens in the lives of Shiva and Gauri? Will they get back to their parents? How Shalini impacts Shiva’s life? What was Dr.Sanjana’s suggestion ? Do read the book to co-journey with Shiva and Gauri.
The protagonist; Gauri, is a portrayal of calm, caring, passionate and loving woman; who loved a boy Shiva and stuck by his side through all the obstacles life throws at them.
The story starts between Gauri & Shiva from being a college love couple, and ends with being the most understanding married couple. Shiva, an assistant professor in a renowned college, was achieving the greater heights of his professional career at a very small age, but the fateful setback of not having a child even after years of marriage was keeping the couple at a distressed level. Shiva met Shalini (a student from one of his class), during one of these upsetting days. Being younger than Shiva, Shalini filled the vacuum, created by absence of child in Shiva’s life.
Gauri; a passionate worker at one technical firm, first objected to the relationship between her husband and Shalini, but later agreed by realizing her husband’s clear intentions. Turn of events, depicts how harshly Shalini left their lives and how Shiva’s actions turned unruly due to this. Being a protagonist, Gauri’s part played a crucial role towards the end of book; when she took a passionate, deep yet vicious way to punish her husband. The climax is like a hurried wrap up of a still going on story; where everything falls right in the place.
Overall, an easy, engaging story which could have been a fantastic one if not ended rapidly. It might sound weird, but the ‘Writer’s note’ at the end of story was much more enticing than the whole story. Where he explained the general things about what a woman has to do when she got married, and a man doesn’t have to. But what will happen if the situation got reversed.
👉Shiva Ramakrishnan, an MBA student falls in love with Gauri Chandrashekhar, who is pursuing her graduation, within 7 days of their meeting at one of his friend's place in a birthday party.
👉Shiva's family is a slightly dysfunctional one, with Pratap, his father being jobless and Saranya, his mother being snatched away with all her savings by her husband, Anu and Arjun being his siblings, aren't vocal in the family issues unlike their elder brother Shiva.
👉Shiva's life changed for good after Gauri's entry into his life. She had the charm of sprinkling soulful colors to his worrisome life. Gauri always believed that Shiva could be a great teacher and was pretty sure that he would scale great heights in that profession. To his surprise things turn out to be likewise and he ends up being a lecturer and then being promoted to an assistant professor!
👉Shiva's and Gauri's life takes twists for two reasons, one, not having a child even after 6 years of their marriage, and two, his new relationship with Shalini, first year M.Tech student of his college who desperately wanted to be with Shiva. How will the society name this relationship, will they accept it, will Gauri accept it?!
👉Moreover, why is Shiva so excited about this new relationship, when he had already married the love of his life Gauri? And why is Shalini being so desperate? Will Shiva be able to tackle both of them and the society?
The author answers all these questions in a very lucid manner, the twists in the story keep the reader hooked till the end. Do give it a try🤗
Gauri is a romantic story of a couple named Shiva and Gauri who together form a beautiful match. The whole story revolves around our main character Gauri who is beautiful, smart and sensible but his partner Shiva act as immature and emotional guy. Couple has left their house because their parents haven't accepted their marriage. After their marriage they are having a very stressful life because they are feeling themselves like orphans. There is another problem in their life that Gauri is not getting pregnant even after 5 years of their marriage. What will happen next ? Will family ever accept them ? Will Gauri ever give birth to child . To know all these you have to grab the book.
Pros:- 1. It's a romantic book having many flavours of lust, love and emotion. 2. Language is lucid that makes you flow with the realms of the book 3. Author has described the story in such a way that you can imagine characters moving in front of your eyes. 4.It is suitable for begginers because of simple language. 5.Title is apt There are many twist and turns in the book which will not let you keep the book in the middle once you start reading it . Ending is very interesting which will definitely bring smile on your face. The way couple tackled the problems of their life is praiseworthy. The story gives a beautiful message of women empowerment. Cons:- The story needs proof reading as there are many grammatical flaws in it. But overall it's a good book . I will definitely recommend it.
This book is a powerful work on an important subject .The best part about the book is , though it is female oriented the author is a male and the way he understood and expressed the struggles and experiences with a female point of view and managed to struck me right at the places where it should have , kudos for that. The storyline is fast paced and very engrossing, never a dull moment , you’ll keep on turning the pages until you’re at the absolute end , cause it really manages to absorb you. It starts of as a cutesy love story but obviously eventually develops into a deeper storyline , reading it made me realize that the main problem with us is that we live in our illusional worlds with absolutely dismal misinterpretations of so many issues. It also throws light on the separate problems men and women , husband and wife have to deal with as individuals. The author attempts to bring us to a table and initiate a conversation , through this book he delves in our system and Indian culture. How we let the society control us in so many aspects, we’re basically puppets living in fear of judgement, how every individual constantly seeks validation and how it ruins our mental health and the most important topic , the sacrifices of the female in any relationship. With the use of subtle language and impeccable finesse, he drives home the point of equality of sexes , along side a beautiful love story. He advocates the voice of women to be heard and the need to give it a room. I definitely recommend you give this book a read. The author has done a commendable job.
"Women can never be referred to as the weaker sex".
This story is happening between Shiva and Gauri.
Shiva is working as a lecturer in a reputed college. But he did an MBA to become a business entrepreneur. Before he completed his degree, he met Gauri and fell in love with her. Gauri wanted to take time as both of their family situations were not stable. After a few years, they got married without Shiva's family support as they are not satisfied with Shiva liking Gauri.
They lived happily yet they didn't have a child for almost five years after their marriage life. Both of them went to the doctor and tried many possibilities. However, nothing worked out. In the meantime, Shalini came into their life as she was one of the students of Shiva. How her presence changes their life is the remaining story.
A simple storyline with complicated plots. It shows the importance of the family and their support. Even so, they lived without them, it'd be great if they had them by their side. Also, Shalini's part is the one I hate the most in this story as she has a vile character.
Gauri is such a woman who would do anything for the sake of her family's happiness. Gauri was always there for everyone. She was Shiva's pillar of strength. Every family has such a person who is similar to Gauri. But they are not acknowledged for their role or for their efforts they are putting. So Author presented this book to show all the women ( in the name of Gauri) out there who are doing their best for their family. Overall a good book with a nice message.
Very first things which come to our intellects after giving attention to the hyped virtual crusades which claim to work for the empowerment of women at every level.
It’s not our fault. In fact preponderance of the people in today’s society is not able to see beyond these apparent campaigns which are filled with much fanfare and charm.
Therefore, we see female celebrities as ’empowered women’.
If we want to pay homage to the women of, we must have to acknowledge the endeavours and impediments in the life of every single woman in every household.
This is the story of Gauri Chandrasekhar and Shiva Ramakrishnan's. This is the story of sacrifice and subjective conflict between Shiva and Gauri. Gauri's story is the prominent tale of many women in our country.
The thought process of this book is incredibly assertive. Although there is a complete plot in this story and not a deprived female character has been crafted. The protagonist Gauri is a patient, courageous and smart. The story is relatable, especially for Indian households.
Language is regular. There's a lack of accurate narration and sharp verbiage. This is a kind of story which can be read in more than one connotation. The language is easy, the story is moving with pace, there is no place you feel like it is going.
Loved the ending which gave a completely new feel about the entire story. And the message conveyed is good too. A worth reading tale.

Gauri..!! : One Woman. One Story. A Million Lives is engraved by Sathya Sam. This book "GAURI" is a debut novel by Sathya Sam. The saga revolves around Gauri and Shiva. This is a sentimental saga of these mates Gauri and Shiva.

Then shiva decided to take another step for his desire. But his step has changed all the saga and circumstances in a different door.
Clench the book to know about the saga.
If I barely tell you about the plot. It's very remarkable and an asunder for me. The way by which the author has illustrated the occurrences and the crises in the women's life is truly appreciated. All responsibilities that she carries on her shoulders about her husband, family, children and society and in the last for herself is flawlessly portrayed in the saga by the author.
The book cover is fascinating to notice. It has designed in such a marvellous way. The title of the book is also precise. The narration of the book has made on sight with the elegant depiction of the characters. Language is lucid and easy to understand.
