This book was given to me by a friend, which was written by one of their friends. I don't know the author personally, but I think this book was self-published and was maybe this person's first book. That said, it wasn't a bad book, in my opinion. I resonated with the themes and understood most of the characters' thought-processes. Most of the story is sort of told from the point-of-view of thoughts, however, making it kind of confusing and convoluted at times. But that really captures stream-of-consciousness, doesn't it? It took me a really long time to read this book because I had to re-read paragraphs a few times to figure out who was thinking what, and what characters were interacting since there was not a whole of exposition going on the whole time. The structure of the chapters is also confusing. The ending is kind of lackluster, but at the same time a blah ending is one of the many struggles of life, which is kind of the whole point. If you're looking for a book that pushes you to feel a certain set of emotions in a certain order, or that is more of a story, this book is not for you. But, if you want to examine your own thoughts and emotions about your own existential feelings, this book can take you there. Also there were very few typos, if any, which I always appreciate in anything I read.

I met Kyle after booking his band Crafter. He's an incredible lyricist and friend. I'm excited to see where he goes as an author.
