Interesting but rushed
I chose a three star rating because it was entertaining and worth reading but I took away two stars because there is so much missing. There is no challenge so far through both books the difficulty level is about on par of a good 2 hour trip with traffic. Not exactly pleasant but no real trouble and no real surprises for the main character. The real meat and potato parts of the story where you get to have fun seeing the development and growth of everyone and you see the main character grow emotionally and get to know people and have something worth fighting for is pretty much yadda yadda awayed and off to the next easy event. Its still a fun read but neither this story or the previous one had a real conflict or resolution and the protagonist doesn't seem to have a flaw except maybe just not having a real investment in the outcome of any event there's nothing stopping him from shrugging and walking away.

Looking forward to book 3
OP MC, I personally like these kind of stories because it becomes less about the main character surviving in a "fair" world and more about making the world a better place. The world building seems to grow more vivid with every turn of the page, and the MC gathers people close that they and the reader can then come to care for.

Lost 2 stars for NOT writing a Recap.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.

An interesting read
I think I might have liked the first book better but I did appreciate the increased dialogue and action sequences of this book.
