Escaping the Mafia should have been simple. A new life with a new identity in a new location. But that plan was conceived long before Simone captured Maria’s heart. Maria’s love for Simone changes everything. When Maria receives devastating news that sends her world into turmoil, she must overcome her demons and face her toughest adversary to date. Stefano, the head of the rival Amato family, is crazed and power hungry; intent on annihilating his enemies and taking control of Sicily. Maria must eliminate him. But how can she do that when the man is incarcerated, and old allies can’t be trusted? Running from the mafia is no longer an option. Maria must find a way to fight for those she loves and claim her and Simone's freedom. If Cosa Nostra kept you on the edge of your seat, then buckle up. Best-selling lesbian fiction author Emma Nichols is about to take you on one hell of a roller coaster ride with Cosa Nostra 2!
Emma Nichols lives in Buckinghamshire with her partner and two children. She served for 12 years in the British Army, studied Psychology and an MBA, and published several non-fiction books under another name, in sports peak performance, before dipping her toes into the world of lesbian fiction.
Emma's bestselling lesbian romance books are: Finding You, Remember Us, The Hangover, Forbidden, Ariana and Madeleine.
I didn’t think Cosa Nostra could be improved upon. How wrong was I? The plot is edge of your seat stuff complete with the trademark Nichols plot twists, if that wasn’t enough in the midst of all that Emma still manages to portray a truly beautiful and sophisticated love story.
This is Emma Nichols at her finest. Cosa Nostra II is quite simply exceptional and without a doubt in my top 10 favourite books of all time.
What a roller coaster ride this story turned in to. Maria is still a badass but she was losing control with her emotions. Coming back from the dead to Simone was one thing but keeping Simone in Paris was another. As the story unravels, Maria is forced to come out of hiding to go back to Sicily and get Simone and her business back. As the mafia situation gets out of hand and the enemies are trying to snuff out Maria’s family business, things start taking a ugly turn up until the finale of the story. Excellent Read! Emma Collins is a master storyteller.
I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I will be a little vague. In book 2, MC Maria & MC Simone reconnect and begin to live HEA. MC Maria is/was the head of a Mafia family & in book 2 she must go back home to tie up some “business” ! I enjoyed the build up through out the book as it leads up to the final confrontation between Maria and the head of another family (Stefano) but it was that confrontation that was a letdown. The buildup was emotional, exciting, suspenseful ... I couldn’t wait to get up to the final scene between the 2 family heads. We finally get to that part which takes place on Maria’s boat and I was disappointed. The scenes on the boat were okay but I felt there was too much going back and forth between all the characters. Besides the obvious talking between characters, Maria & Simone & attempted to convey messages through their eyes & Maria, Simone & Patrina tried to read the minds of one another - that became tiring. And then after all that, the actual physical, violent confrontation between Maria & Stefano was quick and I felt it just fell short of what I was expecting. I can easily see a 3rd book in this series because there is 1 character who went over the side of the boat and the body was never recovered ... hmmmm. In my opinion, book 2 was ok - book 1 was better. I do hope there is a book 3. I have grown attached to Maria !!!!
Some may ask why there are two books telling this story? I would answer that if there was one long book then the author could not have produced a work of such depth. In the first book the reader is introduced to the main characters and how they meet. Because of a thrilling ending at the end of the first book the reader is left out of breath. In book 2 the story continues the relationship between the two main characters. How they grow even closer in their relationship and how Maria battles with her heritage and implied duties to her family. If the relationship between Maria and Simone was weak then under the circumstances of this book their relationship would fall apart. The author has described the emotions of all the characters in such detail that as a reader you feel deeply for them and respond in kind. I found myself cheering them on or reacting with real fear in the appropriate parts. The ending as in all romance is happy but also very exciting and beautiful.
I enjoyed Cosa Nostra, but I have to say I enjoyed Cosa Nostra 2 even more. The characters and their relationships are already established, so this is pure let’s get right down to it story telling. You can read the blurb for the plot details, I won’t go into it here, but I was glad to check in with Maria and Simone again. Emma Nichols has created two strong female leads, and heaven help anyone who tries to come between them.
Cosa Nostra II is the MUST read book of 2020. If you like action packed on the edge of the seat stories this book is for you. Beautiful start describing two people in love, what could go wrong? This is a high-octane blistering sequel to Cosa Nostra which lays the foundation for this book. The non stop action ensures the book is a riveting page turner. This is Emma Nichols at her best. I highly recommend this brilliant book.
As a reminder, Maria and Simone are part of mafia families in Palermo, Sicily. They were both able to escape that stranglehold at the end of book one, but are now drawn back in and their love continues to be challenged. Emma has filled this book with love, romance, deception, suspense and cognac! Addictive, thrilling and riveting, my heart rate soared in this wonderful conclusion of their love story. Brava, Emma!
Cosa Nostra 2 was an excellent sequel by Emma! It follows Maria and Simone back and forth from their home city to their dream home as they fight their way to true freedom. Emma has a special way of capturing the chemistry and romance of these women, and I found myself rereading a lot of the scenes in this book and the one before it. Hats off to the author for a well rounded love story complete with awesome characters and edge of your seat action!
This is a page turner right from the beginning. Maria and Simone have conflicts, but nothing compares to Stefano. The story turns into a nail biter. Only Emma Nichols could write a story so compelling and interesting. The twists and turns are mind boggling. As with all of Emma's books, I highly reccomend it.
I really enjoyed this book. Book two is just as exciting as the first book. Some parts of this book kept me at the edge of my seat. The love story between Marie and Simone is very well written. The characters are well written. Thanks for another winner.
What a great read! Cosa Nostra 1 & 2 are fantastic books and have it all: romance, mystery, suspense, drama, thriller, action. Full of twists and turns, these stories keep you on the edge of your seat and all the while you're routing for Maria & Simone.
This was an outstanding conclusion to the story that began in "Cosa Nostra" with Maria, Patrina, Simone, and life in the Sicilian mafia. Two very compelling books that belong on you must read list!
I really enjoyed Cosa Nostra 2. A great follow up to the first book. If you think that a group of women working together can’t get things done, this book will remind you that everything is possible. Use your brain, your wits, your patience and love.
Fabulous read. Ms Nichols did it again. A real page Turner. Will need to check out others books that are along the same line of drama. Well written and the feelings of the characters were very thrilling. Loved Cosa Nostra and Cosa Nostra II.

I loved the excitement of this story. The love between the main characters was sweet as they put themselves in danger to protect the other. Great ending.
Emma Nichols does well writing stories of WLW in settings such as Sicily with this two-part “Cosa Nostra” series; and the Vicente series, which follows its main characters between Paris, London and Corsica. Other equally excellent Nichols’ titles written in a similar sensual and sensitive vein are “Madeleine” and “Ariana.” In each of these stories Nichols presents strong, smart, passionate, and principled female characters. In Cosa Nostra, to stay alive and safeguard their future together, Maria and Simone must navigate the violence, omertà (code of silence), shifting allegiances, and the actions of insane, ruthless Dons who’ll do anything to capture more business. However, the pair are buffered by their love for each other and their families, the loyalty of their mafia associates, and their integrity.
