Mr. Right

Rate this book
Landon Trask is the biggest movie star in the world.
Everyone knows who he is.
Everyone wants a piece of him.
Everyone wants to either be him or be with him.
Any detail or aspect of his private life is voraciously gobbled up by the masses.
Just standing next to him at a red-carpet event is Hollywood Goals.
He’s that kind of famous.

It doesn’t hurt that he’s drop-dead gorgeous, ridiculously talented or that since the death of his wife six years ago, he’s all but turned his back on the very entity that made him famous in the first place.

So when Landon Trask finds you half-naked in his bedroom, he has every right in the world to assume you’re a stalker and when he shows up on your doorstep the very next day and asks you to dinner, you say, just let me grab my purse.

Imagine my surprise, and monumental disappointment, when Hollywood’s favorite leading man turns out to be a cold, ruthless bastard who all but blackmails me into accepting the indecent proposal of the century—play the role of his girlfriend and shoot to the top of A-lister royalty.

If I accept, he’ll see to it that I’m given the lead role in his latest blockbuster.

And if I refuse, he’s made it clear he’ll use his considerable amount of Hollywood influence to see that I never land so much as a laxative commercial again.

When I accept his proposal and agree to his terms, he seems angry.
When he kisses me in public it seems like a fairy tale.
When he touches me in private it feels like something else altogether.
It feels dangerous.

Because this business arrangement isn’t just business anymore.
It’s something else.
Something real.
Something right.
Something that could destroy me if I forget that this is all pretend and let myself fall.

Landon Trask has been the hottest thing in Hollywood for years, but ever since the tragic death of his wife, he's been surly and standoffish, unreachable to fans. And his ratings are starting to show it. His agent gives him an ultimatum: find a woman to take out in public...dinner, red carpet events, whatever gains the attention of the paparazzi. Fans like to feel like celebrities are just like them and a new romance could be the best thing for his image. He never expected to find the perfect fake girlfriend in his beach house, topless and sunburt, with his young daughter and her nanny just outside.
It seems like Danika's been trying to make it in Hollywood forever. She finally landed a role in a soap opera only to have it ripped away by a jealous costar. Looking for comfort, she joins Elle and her young charge, Cassie, at the Malibu beach house. She never expected to meet Hollywood royalty practically nude while searching for burn cream in his private, off limits to guests bathroom. Nor did she expect the shocking agreement that followed.
After reading the first book about Landon's brother and Elle, I never expected to actually like Landon. He was so cold and definitely a bosshole workaholic, completely ignoring his daughter. Dani sees through his bad attitude to the soft heart underneath. I like the chapters told in dual POV because it shows their true feelings and motivations instead of making the reader guess. I wasn't sure how the blackmail was going to get resolved until the very end and I was so happy with their HEA! I've loved Killian in both books and I can't wait to read his story... hopefully next?! Pretty please? Lol

Landon Trask is the biggest movie star in the world; the typical "girls want to be with him and boys want to be him" actor. But he's beginning to lose his shine because he's being accused of being aloof and unexciting. Something has to be done and soon in order to keep him a box office success. Danika Sawyer is in a coma; well, on her soap opera she's in a coma. Her job is in jeopardy because she had the audacity to report on Brent Chase who made a pass at her in her dressing room, because her boss just happens to be the all-powerful Julia Chase...wife of Brent! What's going to happen to her career when Julia gets her under her thumb. With a twist of fate, Landon's need for a woman to improve his image is right at his fingertips. Danika is best friends with Elle who happens to be Landon's brother's girlfriend. How was that for convoluted! When Landon asks Dani to be his fake girlfriend to save his reputation and shoot her to the top of the A-list actresses, she can't help but feel like this is the answer. It's not smooth sailing, especially since Landon gets side-tracked a lot in his memories of his dead wife. I really disliked him at times, when his thoughts would go to the "bachelor pad" hotel, commisserating that he wasn't getting much use out of it with his growing feelings for Dani. He never crossed the line but Julia Chase sure tried. A well-written story with a nice HEA.

This was my first book by Megyn Ward and I was not disappointed! Mr.Right is the second book in the series and can be read as standalone but I’ll definitely be going back to read the first book.

This book follows Landon who is a huge movie star that needs to fix his image and Danika, an actress who’s down on her luck. They start a fake relationship to get some positive press for him and he promises a leading role for her.

When things start to feel too real and they’re facing demons from their past and present they need to figure out a way to overcome them so that they can move forward without being destroyed.

This steamy romance was a fantastic read and definitely worth picking up, it had so many fantastic tropes in one book. I only wish the daughter was in it more, she’s a little firecracker! Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Mr. Right—Landon Trask, widower, overprotective father, and the hottest star in Hollywood, except his appeal is cooling, and his agent has ordered him to heat things up or risk everything.

Danika Sawyer—Aspiring actress, working her way up the right way until an unfortunate encounter with her co-star’s sleazy husband puts everything she’s worked for at risk.

Can a fake relationship save them both? Maybe, but it is never that easy.

Fake relationship meets grumpy-sunshine, in book two in the Hollywood Knights world we fell in love with in Mr. Wrong, and the love fest continues. Steamy, with a bit of angst, a bit of intrigue, tons of heart, and a total tease for side character spinoffs that I am already lobbying for.

I recommend this book, which is a complete story and can be read on its own but is, I think, best enjoyed in order.

Mr. Right left me totally speechless. This book had everything I wanted to feel, the drama, suspense, finding love and of course a HEA. If you have read any book by Megyn Ward you know that she gives her all in each book she writes and this one is breathtaking to say in the least!
Landon and Danika are both head strong characters and both afraid of what lies ahead. Landon fell in love once and has no desire to ever do it again after his wife died and Danika, after seeing her parents’ relationship over the years of her growing up, just can’t trust a man to be honest and faithful. Can they each set aside their pasts and find true love?.

Although this can be read as a complete standalone, it is the second book in the Hollywood Knights series and characters overlap with some background on their personalities etc established in Lex's book 1.
I feel like I have waited forever for Landon's story after reading about him in his brothers book Mr Wrong and man was he worth the wait!
Landon is not exactly known for his winning personality despite having a winning Hollywood smile. But Danika is more than a strong independent woman, she's also first AF and isn't afraid to call him and others out on their attitude and behaviour.
The heat between them simmers under the surface until eventually is has to explode and man.....they are fire!
Loved this book. Killian calls to me....I hope he's next 😏

I have been waiting for this book impatiently since reading Mr. Wrong and let me tell you that is was worth the wait and then some!!! Megyn knows how to pull you in to a story and not want to put that book down til you are done reading the very last page! I COULD NOT put this book down!

Danika and Landon’s love story was fast, messy and oh so hot! If you like a hot and grumpy alpha type- you will love Landon and Danika is a caring, witty and sharp young lady that just wants to make it in the Hollywood scene. When their worlds collide, will they get burned by the aftershock or will it result in a fortunate stroke of serendipity? Don’t miss this little gem!

The not really clean Hollywood's secrets
4.5
It's a very good romance, all betrayals, lies, pretenses, and despite that torrid, which develops between Danika, a young B actress who risks having her career cut from under her feet, and Landon, a famous actor, widower, single father, but falling in popularity with young women, therefore his fans. Both therefore have a perfect contract for a false relationship of which they would both be beneficiaries.
Their romance is both tender, torrid, well written, full of twists and moving in a Hollywood that is not always very tender and which presses where it hurts.

The fake romance hate to love mixed with the flawed characters of this story make it an unforgettable romance. The open door love scenes had me sweating. I really enjoyed the mystery of figuring out what happened to Rachel (Landon's wife), and Danika coming to terms with her upbringing.

Absolutely loved Danika and Landon's story. Their chemistry and angst made for a hot and steamy one sitting read that nearly melted my kindle. A fantastic book!!!!
