I enjoyed this book very much. The three storylines were interesting to follow to varying degrees but i really liked the overall world and atmosphere created in this book.
Bishta's story is intriguing to read about and her motivations for the most part are hidden behind "spirits and humans don't deserve this world" so i am very interested to see where her part of the story goes. Dorrick's story was my least favorite in this book because the whole thing just felt like a set up for the rest of his story not actual development in itself but seeing the differences in thinking between him and Tuni and what happened when they met was very interesting. Tuni's story was my favorite :) i just loved her whimsical attitude and her love of nature and life and the way that her story developed made me very excited to see where she goes in the next book.
Overall i really liked this book, i have to take some points off because this book is too short to have the level of world and character building needed for the story to be perfect but i enjoyed this very much. 7.5/10
An introduction into the lives of three characters. Bishta is on a mission. She is the Sage of the Dark and she is on a mission to keep the balance on Earth. But to do it she summons a demon. Tuni is a young girl who loves nature and wandering in the wilds. When her life is save by the Sage of the Earth she decides to stay with her and help her. Sir Dorrick is a Knight and in love with a fellow knight. While on a mission everything goes wrong and a magic user aids the spirit that his unit was supposed to kill, and his lover dies. How they lives of these three characters will eventually intersect will hopefully be revealed in the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
My summary of the first novel of Bishta, Dorrick and the Green Sage follows.
The individuals ,demons and sages in this novel are so well described in this first novel of a series that promises a great and memorable read. This book is so inventive and
imaginative that it seems to defy one's most creative thought processes. I anxiously await Jada's next novel. Jeanne Quist
The first part was difficult to read, to much explaining the story and not enough of telling the story. It did get better as it went one. Not a huge fan of the whole jumping around from character to character. Makes it difficult to follow the story line. Basically 3 stories in one book all cut up.
I had no idea what to expect with this book. But it is an interesting world with interesting characters. I would have liked more backstory on Bishta the dark sage. But I am sure that will come in future books.
I have this three stars because the story was disjointed and the reasoning nowhere to be found. The descriptions of the creatures was beautiful and parts of the story made sense in small chunks.
At first I thought it was going to be confusing with the characters changing around in most chapters. It came together fairly well and I was able to understand the changes.
It's a good story, I'm wondering why Bishta started this war against other sages. I do like a powerful villain with good reasons not just trying to get more power. I hope she is one of them.
I read the 9 book series that Jada Fisher released and it was awesome so I expected this one to be the same, started out a little slow but now I can't wait to read on!!
meh... it seems to be written for young children. big descriptions about things that have little bearing on the story... i wont be reading the further books
