I Like the Story's, but

If you don't believe a single man can carry a gatling gun down a ladder and across a western street by himself, that cowboys swear all the "freakin' time", and that head shots of a bandidos are relatively easy when both shooter and target are galloping on horses, then these books aren't for you.
If you don't think a 30's something cowboy and his early 20's something female bounty hunter friend can have sex over the course of 3-5 years and she not get pregnant, these books aren't for you.
But the stories are good.

More gritty work from Lou Prophet

Volume two has even more gritty detail than the first. One novel goes beyond believable but the rest contains enough scene and character development that you can smell the men and feel the action!

Outstanding, doesn't leave any stone unturned!

Look I read volume 1. Couldn't put it down. Had to grab volume 2. Now I'm hooked. Grandchild knows how to cover a western, and detail, unbelievable!!! You can't stop.. Where's number 3. Gotta have it.

Non-stop action

This trilogy is hard to put down. The action is non-stop and kept me engaged. Great heroine and interesting hero. Sometimes the shoot out was unbelievable. No one is that lucky! Great entertainment.

What a true western story should be.

A excellent read that keeps the reader trying to figure out how the story is going to keep the good guys alive. Both books have been enjoying to read. The story details are excellent and fit well with the story. Looking forward to next book.

The Trails Of Lou Profit

This book was a compilation of five complete novels. Each was action packed and hard to put down. Each was well written and a complete novel in itself and by no means a short story. I would highly recommend it! I look forward to volume thre

Great Series

Nonstop action, bawdy wenches, twisty plots and mysteres galore in a hot dry desert setting. Need I say mote. Lots of entertainment in these stories.

Rip snorting tales.

Entertaining reading, colorful characters, detailed location descriptions. Just picked up vol.3. Back to the reading and a respite from the modern-day problems.

Truly a must read

Makes for one hell of a story. Love how they grouped the books into a novel size 2 book series. Great story line can't wait for the next one.

Peter Brandvold – Lou Prophet Vol 2 – Reviewed 10/20/20 – Read 10/15/20

Lou and Louisa are on the trail again, in and out of trouble, they take it all on!

Lou Prophet had been trailing the robbers in the network of the ups and downs in Western Colorado mountains for the last two weeks. Finally, he came upon a cabin near a slow-moving creek, must have been an old prospector’s place at one time or another. He spotted their horses in a corral near the cabin. After having a serious talk with Mean & Ugly, his hammer-headed line-back dun, and surviving another nip to his shoulder, he took off after the stage robbers. The gang had killed nine drivers and stage passengers in the past six months, including a young girl that had caught a ricochet. They were certainly a deadly bunch of riders.

He found them all in the stream, remembering that all four of the Sanderson boys had gotten married not long ago. Well, they were all there lollygagging in the water, naked and cavorting. This bunch had stayed a step ahead of the law for the past five or six years. Not only that, but they had also killed two sheriffs and three U.S. Marshals during that time.

Now he was trying to figure out just how he was going to take down all four. They were spread out in the water with the women all near them. They may have been enjoying themselves, but they were not far from the reach of a gun. If Louisa were here it would be no problem, but since he was on his own, he might have to wait until the women were gone, and the men a little more bunched up.

And the story begins…

Lou Prophet: The Complete Series, Volume 2 includes – The Graves at Seven Devils, Helldorado, The Devil's Winchester, The Devil's Laughter, and The Devil's Ambush.

What did I like? This is my second volume of Lou Prophet stories and they are just as exciting as the first ones were. I love the connection between Lou and Louisa. Now today, you might think that the relationship that they have together would be a little strange, but back then it was quite common for people of the same background/work would find themselves teamed up. Both being bounty hunters and wanting to rid the world of the scum of the earth. Of course, Louisa had a little bit of help finding her life's work, but Lou understands her needs and tries to work to help her through it. His feelings go deeper than just the companionship, he certainly cares for her and his book shows us how much!

What will you like? End your search right here for that best western around for action, excitement, emotions, outlaws, with the scenery of the west all around you. From Mexico to the north of the wonderful US, Lou and Louisa will take you on a journey you most definitely will enjoy. The characters are incredible, and some will make you want to shoot them yourself. The storyline is exciting, action-filled, emotional, and awe-inspiring. I love the way that Peter uses his descriptions to reach out and take my hand and pull me through his book. I feel like the woods, streams, mountains, and towns are just an arm’s length away. Join Lou and Louisa on another emotional ride through the lives of bounty hunters!
