DRAMA!!!! This book had a similar vibe as Kings of Napa. I liked the characters a lot, but there are some conversations around fertility and mental health that I wish were worded with a bit more empathy. I will be reading the siblings’ sequels.

Psychologist Shantel finds herself at a bachelor auction, at the request of her best friend Julian Lockett. She’s there to support and bid on him. Unfortunately, he's a no-show at the event. Julian's older brother Roman is at the auction as well. When he spots her from across the room, he's extremely intrigued. But he doesn't recognize her until he attempts to introduce himself. Realizing Julian is a no-show and that Shantel is on her own, he begs her to bid on him. He even provides her with the money to do so. For Roman, the amount is no object, as long as no other woman wins a date with him and he can be alone when Shantel.
Shantel is different from other women Roman is usually attracted to. This is something they both know. While Roman knows he should stay away from Shantel because of his brother, he just can't. Roman offers Shantel one night of pleasure, hoping she takes him up on the offer. Shantel is what you would call a forever woman. She doesn't do one-night stands and is selective about who she’s with. But she's willing to accept the one-night Roman offers.
To her dismay, Shantel discovers she's pregnant with Roman’s baby. When Roman finds out, he demands that she marries him. He's not a man who is used to or accepts the word no. And that’s what makes Roman and Shantel such a good couple. Shantal is strong and independent. She's the opposite of what or who Roman thought he wanted. However, she's everything he needs. Their chemistry is off the charts. But more importantly, Shantel really sees him, and especially the part he desperately tries to hide from the world.
Shantel's life hasn't been a fairy tale. In fact, having a family of her own was never in her plans. But life seldom follows our plans. Just like Cinderella's bumpy journey to be with her prince, Shantel and Roman are going to have to deal with interfering family members and their own self doubts.
Consequences of Passion was a great story. I love being introduced to Shantel and Roman’s families. Shantel’s family is tight, close-knit, and owns a working farm in Georgia. The Locketts own the Atlanta Cougars football team. Romans’s father Josiah, brother Julian, sister Giana and Roman himself all work for the team. His younger brother Xavier used to play for the team until an injury ended his career. Consequences of Passion sets up the series nicely and I can’t wait to read the other books.

Bachelor auction done the right way or not. Have someone waiting to bid on you as the highway bid. Have one incredible night of passion and connection Roman and Shantel find that even after years of being acquainted was nothing compared I one night of complete surrender. There are ups and downs in every relationship. More so in a rushed relationship with an unexpected baby. Some family provide love without conditions or reservations. Other family have to be on the brink of losing something or someone to get it together.

Being The Favourite Doesn’t Mean You Get Respect!
I went back and read this after reading the second book in the series and it didn’t disappoint! Their ‘one night’ together was hot as hell (fans self) and I couldn’t wait to see them interact in the light of day! I loved that the moment he finds out she’s pregnant he steps up to the plate, he wants their child to have both parents in its life together which is admirable. She was such a strong character and I really admired the way that she stood up for herself in situations. Also let’s just say I knew the prenup would come back to haunt him! And I still DESPISE his father on a visceral level. Definitely give this series a read!

Lovely read! Really enjoyed the characters and I'm a sucker for a sweet relationship and an accidental pregnancy. Loved reading about Black love and all in all the book just warmed my heart. Only downside was the writing felt a bit stilted and rushed in some parts but nothing that I couldn't overlook. Can't wait for more in this series!

Oh my goodness! I can definitely say I enjoyed this book with that being said I was feeling like it was a soap opera for me Two successful people come together for a night of passion then that passion turned to bundles of joy that they were both wasn't expecting at all! I mean one night stand are supposed to be just one night stands however like they always say all it takes is one time lol ! Shantel & Roman's story was very interesting I must say with that being Shantel was willing to co-parent with Roman however Roman felt the opposite he wanted his child to be in a two parent home it was very interesting rollercoaster ride the fact that the passion between them never died Shantel was falling for Roman but Roman hasn't quite figured out his true feelings for Shantel its like this have you ever been the first person to tell someone you love them but they didn't say it back but they do care for you that would break my heart if that happened to me however I don't want to give out all the juicy details but I will say this both of their families were opinionated about the pregnancy and marriage proposal especially Roman's father! I can't wait to read the next installment coming in August ! Until next time

Passionate, intense and unputdownable! With the first book in her Locketts of Tuxedo Park series Yahray St. John quickly nabbed my attention with her relatable down-to-earth characters and the fast paced storyline had me hooked in no time. I loved their connection, and the family drama surrounding their own relationship development made for a thrilling read. I'm looking forward to more from this delectable family!
Roman is confident and self-assured, but as we dig into his character we see the adversity he faces every day from a familial source. He knows what he wants out of life, but becoming close with Shantel shows him even more of what is waiting for him if he can muster the courage to try.
Shantel is accomplished and serene until someone riles her up and then she doesn't hesitate to speak her mind. She's suffered loss in her life, and the last thing she wants to do is set herself up for more ... but she can't resist the pull of all that is Roman!
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys family drama and red hot chemistry front and center in your romance.

My first time reading this author and was glad I was able to get to see the start of this series.
Shantel has been friends with Julian since college so she didn't mind when he asked her to bid on him for his sister charity ball. While waiting on Julian to make his entrance his brother Roman sees her and is enthralled with her. As time goes by for the bidding of the bachelors Shantel realizes Julian never showed and so Roman begs her to bid on him because of the barracudas of women who already wanting to bid on him. Shantel thought her work was done after bidding on him only to have him ask her out to dinner. One thing leads to another and they have a one night stand. Shantel is left hurt and saddened that Roman only wanted that from her. She later find outs she is pregnant and when Roman finds out he wants to do the right thing. I loved the set up the Lockett's family dynamic the patriarch Josiah is no holds barr character with his children. Loved seeing a black family with money and prestige doing their thing. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Amazing ❤️
What can I say about this beautiful love story simply wonderful ❣️🔥🔥🔥 the chemistry between them both shantel and Roman omg ❤️❤️ I absolutely love the best friend relationship between her and jillian he really care about her and wanted the best for her and when he stood up to his big brother I was like yessss that took alot at heart for jillan he knew that his brother had selfish gain in the beginning was to just bed shantel but once Roman got to really know her it was an amazing love he had for her. When ronan when to her home town to express his love omg 😭💕💕🔥🙌🏾 that scene was everything 🙌🏾❤️ their father is a jerk and I can't wait for jillian story 😍 my heart broke for shantel actually for both of them because they were dealing with alot hurt and pain but they overcome it with the 💕 I so excited and loving this series already Yahrah St. John did her thang yesss 🙌🏾 she's the best . Oh my goodness ! I can definitely say that I really enjoyed this novel it really felt like a soap opera I would say for me ! Two successful people come together for a night of passion turned into bundles of joy that wasn’t expected I mean one night stands are supposed to be just one night stand however as they say it only takes one time ! Shantel & Roman’s love story was definitely a emotional Rollercoaster Shantel wanted to just co-parent with Roman but however Roman didn’t wanted to be separated and he wanted their child to be in a two parent household then Roman offers marriage proposal to Shantel as well but i don’t want to give away all of the book no spoilers but you must read Shantel and Roman’s love story and then be ready for his brother Julian’s love story in the next installment coming in August 2021 until next time

A great story to read.
When Shantel goes to a Bachelor's Auction as a favor to her best friend Julian, she doesn't get to help out Julian because he was a no show. In turn she ends up helping his older brother Roman. One thing leads to another and Shantel Roman's chemistry leads to a surprise that neither saw coming. Shantel physiologist on a mission to help other people suffering from mental health issues that she blames herself for not being able to help her own mom who suffered and lost her battle with her mental health issues. Roman the COO of his family's football franchise and in charge of players personnel, he wants to his father's approval and respect. Roman and Shantel each decide to do the best thing their baby. I love the fact that both Shantel and Roman each bring out the best in one another. Great story I would definitely reread this book again and again.

First thing, I loved how much melanin was on the couple on the cover. It was really refreshing to see that. I loved the chemistry between Shantel and Roman. I especially loved how Shantel stood her ground and did not allow anyone to force her to be the only one compromising. The pace and flow of the story was great, and I didn't want to put the book down. The only reason I did is I was a little worn and wanted to make sure I was wide awake to finish so I didn't miss anything. This was such a good book, and I am so ready for the next book in the series. And I appreciated the fact that both of them didn't have normal careers that many romance stories have between the main characters. The Drama was off the chain. I didn't realize how much I could hate a character until I met Roman's Father, Julian. Great job with the story.

Shantel Wilson was asked to attend a bachelor auction by her friend Julian Lockett. Shantel rarely went out so she was looking foward to helping her friend. Unfortunately Julian was a no show. Roman Lockett had never noticed how beautiful Shantel was until that night. She was the only woman there not flirting with him or trying to get his attention. He asked her to bid on him and he would pay the bid.
Once they went out, Roman realized there was a lot more to Shantel. She was also a very kind and compassionte person. They brought out the best in each other. They helped each other work through issues in their life. I enjoyed the story and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Wonderful start to the series Shantel and Roman were hot like fire. The pregnancy was an added bonus to this couple. Ms. St. John did her thing with this story. The best part in this story was when Shantel let Roman know she was her own woman and their would be compromises with her also Roman's growth in this story he finally became the man he wanted to be for the woman he loves and their baby on the way. Oh and he finally stood up to his father and was no longer going to be in his shadow or allow him to dictate to him how things were going to be. Priceless.

Their one night stand resulted in her becoming pregnant. She decides to marry Roman. There was some little problems especially Roman dad Josiah. He was wrong for what he said about Shantel. In the everything worked out for Shanel and Roman. Very good book. Can't wait to read about the rest of the Pocket siblings.

Bravo
This book was my introduction to Yahrah’s writing and I couldn’t be happier. I have always been a fan of Brenda Jackson so when I saw this book was published through Harlequin I just knew it was a go. It’s well written with a good plot and believable characters. It also has the hot and steamy intimate scenes that I found myself reading over twice if not thrice. There was not a ton of unnecessary fluff and just enough details to paint the picture of the characters and their environment. I will continue to read more of Yahrah’s books.

Loving This Series and This is Just The First One!! 🤗🔥🤗
I absolutely loved this book. I was on this journey with Shantel and Roman from the beginning throughout the end!! There were parts that just pulled my heartstrings...so emotional!

Roman and Shantel definitely make opposites attract. Their chemistry is undeniable. Both stubborn and in need of each other. They bring out the best in each other. An unexpected pregnancy forces them to face their fears and acknowledge their weakness. This book has me from the first chapter. Accepting their past and embracing their future with the help of family and complete strangers. This is an absolute must read. I look forward to the next installment.

Beautiful love story.
Roman Lockett and Shantel Wilson were meant to be together. They were different but connected and brought something into each other's life. Romans dad was horrible, he spoke his mind and enjoyed intimidating folks. His brother, Julian was something else. Roman and Julian were playas. The sister got into everyone s business. I enjoyed the book, story was well developed.

A very good start
This is the 1st book in the series and it didn’t disappoint. This is the 1st time I have read a book by this author and she is fantastic. The characters were very well written and the plot was good. I couldn’t put it down. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Great epilogue.

The consequences of Roman and Shantel's passion was a baby. She and Roman both has issues. I think Mr Lockett should have gotten that punch Julian gave Roman. The man was just hateful you do whatever I say and ask no questions. But love finally made Roman strand up to him.

This is a beautiful love story. The author gives the right amount of suspense to keep you interested. I also love the family history that kept the story believable. Thumbs up. I can't wait to read the next book in this new series!
