Tex Mostly by Raymond E. Tatten is a short story from his childhood memory. It is a story about him and his beloved pony Tex. Raymond had to move to the farmhouse with his brother Hank along with his family. There one day, while riding the ponies both the brothers had met the accident and that had made a strong mark on Raymond for the rest of his life.

I kind of reminded about the famous "Black Beauty" adventures from my childhood while reading it. I felt the emotions and the attachment Raymond felt for his pony and his anger as a child at the tragedy seemed justified from a child's perspective. But, of course I am sure now he must have found it a part of a mishap rather than a deliberate act.

The rest story is simple and easily comprehensible with a simple language. It shows the strong bonding between children with their pets. I felt Raymond's attachment with his pony to be innocent like any other child. It stirred good emotions in the reader and am sure many will be reminded of their own childhood's pets after reading it. I will rate it a good 4 stars read!
