Кодекс самурая, правила и нормы поведения человека, вступившего на Путь Воина - Бусидо, своими корнями уходят глубоко в древность. Философия самурайства формировалась как под воздействием рациональных факторов - исторических, географических, социальных, так и под влиянием духовных основ японского общества - буддизма, синтоизма, учения дзэн. Все это нашло отражение в трудах великих воинов Ямамото Цунэтомо (1659-1719) и Миямото Мусаси (1584-1645). "Хагакурэ" ("Сокрытое в листве"), "Книга Пяти Колец", сочинения других выдающихся полководцев составляют Кодекс самурая - свод правил и норм поведения, которым следовали многие поколения японских воинов.

About the author

Miyamoto Musashi (宮本 武蔵, c. 1584 – June 13, 1645), also known as Shinmen Takezō, Miyamoto Bennosuke or, by his Buddhist name, Niten Dōraku, was an expert Japanese swordsman and rōnin. Musashi, as he was often simply known, became renowned through stories of his excellent swordsmanship in numerous duels, even from a very young age. He was the founder of the Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū or Niten-ryū style of swordsmanship and the author of The Book of Five Rings (五輪の書 Go Rin No Sho), a book on strategy, tactics, and philosophy that is still studied today.

The book of five rings - don't mistake obscurity for wisdom, the king wears no clothes. Or i got a bad translation, either way, meh.

Hagakure - toxic masculinity, only Japanese. Questionable ethics and rules. Tendency to bloviate. Not great.

Bushido: The Soul of Japan - Magnifique! Made up for what the others lacked. Describes the Japanese philosophy of Bushido, how it relates to western thought and notions of duty, honor, and the Knight-errant. Beautifully written, pulls from a pool of very diverse subjects.
