„O żeglowaniu” to jednocześnie rozrywka i informacja. Dzięki przejrzystemu indeksowi łatwo odnaleźć potrzebne pojęcia, a lekturę można zaczynać w dowolnym miejscu.

I enjoyed his style, easy to read, almost a page turner, which is saying something for a nonfiction book.

My Amazon Vine review

My husband is the sailor in our house and tries hard to increase my interest and my skills to match his yacht master level. Obviously through his influence I've heard about Robin Knox-Johnson so was interested in reading this book.

It is a collation of articles from Yachting World magazine so the chapters are short often no more than 4 pages so there is not enough time to bewilder with technical jargon and lose my interest. The articles cover a wide range of sailing topics and as Knox-Johnson seems to have a similar view to my husband on technology and traditional sailing it has led to conversations where I've challenged him e.g. what would he do if he lost his rudder.

I think it is very unlikely that I will ever want to read the biographical sailing books my husbands reads e.g. A Voyage For Madmen: Nine men set out to race each other around the world. Only one made it back ..., Trawler: A Journey Through the North Atlantic, but this book is set at the ideal level for someone who knows a bit about sailing and has an interest in knowing more without actually sailing! My husband has also expressed an interest in reading it, so I assume it is likely to be of interest to experienced sailors who are likely to benefit from Knox-Johnson's technical knowledge rather than his story telling.
