Sisters of the Resistance

Rate this book
Set in the thick of the Paris Resistance movement during WWII, this exciting novel tells of the deep involvement of Catherine Dior and two young women who risked their lives to support her efforts—perfect for fans of Kate Quinn and Jennifer Chiaverini.

France, 1944: The Nazis still occupy Paris, and twenty-five-year-old Gabby Foucher hates these enemies, though, as the concierge of ten rue Royale, she makes it a point to avoid trouble, unlike her sister Yvette. Until she, like her sister, is recruited into the Resistance by Catherine Dior—sister of the fashion designer, Christian Dior.

Gabby and Yvette are both swept into the world of spies, fugitives, and Resistance workers, and it doesn't take long for the sisters to realize that their lives are in danger.

Gabby discovers an elderly tenant is hiding a wounded British fugitive, and Yvette becomes a messenger for the Resistance. But as Gabby begins to fall in love with her patient and Yvette’s impulsiveness lead her into intrigue at an ever-higher level, both women will discover that their hearts and even their souls hang in the balance as well.

This page-turning novel is perfect for any reader fascinated by the role of women during World War II, whose stories are often untold, and introduces us to Catherine Dior, the fearless real-life Resistance hero.

Christine Wells

Christine Wells is a former corporate lawyer who exchanged contracts and prospectuses for a different kind of fiction.

Undergoing life-saving brain surgery as a 2 year old made her want to be a brain surgeon when she grew up. However, a love of the humanities, particularly English history and literature, not to mention the fact she wasn’t great with blood, made her revise that plan.

Christine had always been interested in the law and after winning a half-scholarship to Bond University in a high school moot competition, she decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a solicitor. Having completed her Bachelor’s degree, Christine worked for city law firms advising on capital raising and mergers and acquisitions.

While still working as a lawyer, she started her first novel, a historical murder mystery which is now (thankfully) lost in the bowels of a defunct hard drive. Eventually, Christine set her sights on publication in the United States, where it seemed British-set historical romance was highly popular. A keen devotee of Georgette Heyer novels, Christine decided to give these a try.

Ten years later, she is an award-winning author with ten novels published by major New York publishers, St. Martin’s Press and Penguin. These novels have been translated (variously) into German, Japanese, Dutch, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese.

Now, a change in direction sees Christine combining her abiding interest in the law and her passion for English history in one novel, THE WIFE’S TALE.

Christine lives with her husband (also a lawyer) and two sons in Brisbane, Australia.

I enjoyed this WWII historical fiction but think I would have enjoyed it a bit more if I hadn't come in expecting to learn more about Catherine Dior, sister of Christine Dior. Most of what I learned about her came from my internet searches and those searches helped me to understand her value to the story, that I wouldn't have gotten from just reading the book. I know I'm going to read more about her now that I know the part she played as a Resistance fighter.

The book starts in 1947, where we are introduced to Yvette, just arriving in France from New York, where she made her home after escaping France, late in the war. We also meet Yvette's sister, Gabby, who still lives with their mother, where she works as as the concierge of ten rue Royale. Yvette is back in France so that she can testify at the trial of a woman who is accused of war crimes. She's never answered any of Gabby's letters since she left France three years ago. She's racked with guilt because of things she did or neglected to do during her time as a Resistance Fighter.

Gabby has accepted her fate in life. She long ago lost her father and her fiancé and never hoped to love again. And now her sister seems to be lost to her. There is also another person she has lost although she doesn't know if he is dead or has just forgotten her.

The other timeline in this story takes place in 1944. Everything is related to us by jumping back and forth between 1944 and 1947 and jumping between the viewpoint of Yvette and Gabby, in each of those timelines. We see all the deprivations of living in wartime France, the brutality inflicted on the people by the Nazis, gangs, those in power over those who are oppressed. In 1944, nineteen year old Yvette is so extremely naïve despite having endured so much of wartime France and being a member of the Resistance. Twenty five year old Gabby is already weary of a life that doesn't look to ever get better. She's always worried about her rash, headstrong, and reckless sister. Little does she know she'll be taking on similar risks once she realizes what is going on in the building that she runs.

I think the story would have been less confusing it it had been told from 1944 to 1947, without the back and forth in the timeline. But, still, it's very interesting as we see how the war is waged, not just on the front lines but behind the scenes, by people who are not what they seem and by people who have nothing left to give but their lives. Both sisters have so much to give, if they can figure out who they can trust.

Clearly I missed something other readers found to like in this book. I didn’t care for the idea that the author used the name of Catherine Dior as a hook which would obviously draw readers to this book.
The book is not about Catherine Dior! She appears like a shadow on the wall.

2* only because I actually read to the end.

Alternating 1944 and 1947 - told in the alternating voices of sisters Yvette and Gabby.

Some of the scenarios presented in this book are so ridiculous it is almost laughable.

In 1944 after carrying out some resistance work Yvette was smuggled out of France and has lived in NYC for 2 years.
In 1947 she arrives in Paris having been summoned to testify at the trial of a suspected traitor to France – a person who Yvette feels had betrayed her.

Within the first few pages and within hours of arriving in Paris Yvette is discovered outside Christian Dior’s atelier where Dior’s first show since the war is about to begin. Whereupon she is invited inside and by some incredible coincidence and bonne chance becomes a part of the show.

Gabby’s story is even more absurd. To be honest I never really got a grasp on Gabby at all. She appeared to fall into resistance work reluctantly until she fell in love.

All ending in a romance for both sisters that the reader saw coming way back when.

If you are interested in learning about Catherine Dior and her work with the resistance during WWII you will have to read another book.

Both Yvette and her older sister Gabby Foucher were embroiled in the war in Paris of 1944. Yvette worked for the House of Lelong, ferrying parcels through the streets to fashionable women who could still afford to dress well. Gabby was concierge of 10 rue Royale, working with her mother to keep the tenants as safe as was possible. When both young women were recruited into the Resistance – unbeknown to each other – it was Catherine Dior who set their tasks. Catherine was also a tenant of 10 rue Royale, perfectly positioned for what she needed to do.

Yvette and Gabby both hated the Bosch, but their roles in the Resistance saw courage neither were aware they possessed. Yvette put her own life on the line, naively insisting she could handle herself. Gabby continued to face danger on a daily basis, protecting, nursing and feeding the wounded fugitive – until the raid on the night when everything went wrong.

1947 saw Yvette return to Paris, both dreading and anxious to see her sister and mother. But what would she find when she returned to 10 rue Royale? Christian Dior, fashion designer of the rich and famous, and brother to Catherine, was holding his first show the day after Yvette arrived – her desire to be involved, to see the new fashions, saw her head there. But it was Yvette’s role as a witness that was daunting her – did she really want to defend that person?

Sisters of the Resistance by Aussie author Christine Wells (her first since 2018!) was brilliant historical fiction! Set in two time frames only three years apart, it shows what the women who were involved in the war had to do. They put their own lives at risk to achieve what seemed unachievable; their patriotism shone through and while many lost their lives, those who didn’t found their lives changed forever. Yvette and Gabby are excellent characters, strong, courageous, naïve and incredibly daring; Catherine Dior was another such person. Highly recommended.

With thanks to the author for my uncorrected proof ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 spy stars

With such a treasure trove of material, this one is another WWII story set in Paris and featuring the Resistance efforts. The two sisters are Gabby and Yvette, and each woman gets involved in the war in different ways and unbeknownst to the other. Gabby serves as the concierge at a small apartment building, and she gets to know all the residents. Yvette makes deliveries all over Paris on her bicycle.

There are two timelines (from 1944 and then a few years after the war) and that was mostly successful. There were a few times I got confused and I think it might have been better if it was written as a straight-through chronology.

There are some interesting sections featuring the Dior family and that always is an interesting twist. In fact, the Dior family lives at the apartment building where Gabby is the concierge. Interestingly, Catherine (sister to Christian) Dior is highly involved in the Resistance and that was fascinating.

This one has the usual elements with hiding people, rations, and spying. I was definitely interested enough to keep reading, but I was not completely pulled into this one. I did see that this author has several other highly rated books. I’ll be checking those out someday!

Thank you to NetGalley and Book Club Girls/William Morrow/Custom House for the early copy of this one to read.

This is an entertaining, well-written, informative, WWII historical fiction novel which is based on actual persons and events. It is describes the fascinating story of Catherine Dior and the resistance fighters in France during WWII. It has likable, engaging, strong and courageous female protagonists, intrigue, suspense, and romance. I listened to the audio version of this book, and the narrator, Ms. Saskia Maarleveld, has a captivating voice and does an outstanding job depicting the characters and their personalities.

Yvette and Gabby Foucher are sisters who aided the French Resistance during World War II. The story begins in 1947 when Yvette returns to Paris to testify at the trial of a famous film star accused of war crimes. Yvette has been living in New York City and harbors so much guilt about some of her actions during the war that she has severed ties with her family and has destroyed all of the letters Gabby has sent to her. Once back in Paris, Yvette finds herself working at the new House of Dior as a mannequin (now referred to as a model). The book shifts back to 1944. The sisters are living in a building owned by their mother. Gabby works in the building servings its residents and Yvette works for the House of Lelong and its fashion designer Christian Dior. His sister Catherine lives in their building and the sisters become involved in her Resistance spy network. The timelines go back and forth to tell the wartime story and the post-war lives of these interesting characters as many secrets are revealed.

Sisters of the Resistance is a very appealing book and if you are a reader who seeks stories set during this period, it will not disappoint. While the story revolves around the lives of the fictional sisters, the true and heroic story of Catherine Dior is especially fascinating. There are so many brave, smart and tough women in this book that it serves as a reminder that women played invaluable roles in winning the war. The world of haute couture provides a luxurious backdrop to an entertaining story of espionage, courage, love and sisterhood.

Many thanks to William Morrow and Custom House, Book Club Girl Early Reads, NetGalley and author Christine Wells for the opportunity to read this book in advance of its June 8, 2021 publication.

What more could one want? Catherine Dior, sister of the famous designer and a real-life heroine of the French Resistance, recruits two sisters for the famous guerilla movement. Set in Paris before and after WWII, with spies and double spies, love and heartbreak, and of course, haute couture adding spice to it all. An enthralling tale that kept me page-turning!

Such an inspiring and captivating story of friendship, sisterhood, and determination. I really enjoyed this novel, and this reimagining was written to well, with amazing characters.

Although there were some questions along the way, and sometimes the plot moved so suddenly at times with unanswered questions, it all comes together nicely at the end. Definitely a strong novel for historical fiction fans!

Sisters of the Resistance by Christine Wells. (2021).

Paris, 1944. The war is nearly over but it's still dangerous for members of the resistance in occupied France. Gabby loathes the Nazis but as the concierge of a building, she tries to avoid conflict - unlike her bolder sister Yvette. Both sisters end up recruited into the resistance by Catherine Dior. Gabby risks everything hiding a man, and Yvette isn't sure if she can trust an enigmatic diplomat.
Paris, 1947. Yvette returns from New York and reunites with Gabby while starting a new job as a mannequin for Christian Dior. But first she must uncover the truth behind Catherine's terrible fate, while Gabby finds that there are many types of courage and love is worth fighting for.

This story was inspired by the real life bravery of Catherine Dior and thus includes a mix of real and fictional characters. The narrative alternates between the perspectives of sisters Gabby and Yvette, as well as alternating between the years 1944 and 1947. Both Gabby and Yvette end up working for the resistance, the difference being Yvette does so willingly and excitedly whereas Gabby is reluctantly drawn in before becoming committed. The sisters are unaware of what each are doing, with Catherine Dior playing a pivotal role for each sister. This is an intriguing and engrossing novel, and realistically depicts the stress and dangers people would have had in this time period while showcasing the bravery of female spies.
Overall: I would happily recommend this engrossing book for any reader who enjoys historical fiction, in particular WWII era.

What an amazing, brilliant, fabulous and beautiful story, I loved it from the start, I savoured every word I felt part of the story, my stomach was in my heart in so many places while these woman that we get to know sisters Gabby and Yvette Foucher and Catherine Dior as well as many other courageous and strong woman who stood up to the Germans and did what they could for France and its allies by becoming Resistance workers.

It is France 1944 and the Germans are occupying Paris a young Gabby is concierge of 10 rue Royale, she has no love for the Germans but does not like to be noticed unlike her younger sister Yvette who is happy to make her feelings known. Gabby cares about the tenants in the building doing what she can for them Christian Dior and his sister Catherine live there as well and it is not long before Gabby and Yvette are helping Catherine with work for the Resistance.

Yvette works delivering packages for designer, House of Lelong this makes it good for her to become a messenger and she is always wanting to do more for the resistance and opportunity comes to her and she jumps at it. With Gabby she finds one of her elderly neighbours hiding a wounded British soldier this becomes Gabby’s way to help. Both sisters are doing what they can to help in their own way and so very bravely.

In 1947 Yvette returns to Paris after being spirited away from danger but it is a long time since she has seen her mother and sister and her guilt is causing her to worry so much about other people and testifying in a huge trial. The sister’s reunion is filled with honesty and openness and it is a joy to see them together again, they have both changed so much, but will they be able to put the past behind them and look to the future with what has happened, will they find love and happiness?

This was a compelling and captivating story, the characters are so real their feelings and emotions come to life on the pages, there were so many times I held my breath for them, I cried for them and I cheered them on with the strength and courage they show. MS Wells has bought to life occupied Paris during WW2 and also the beautiful fashions described it was like I could see these dresses. This is a must read story, a story that I found really hard to put down, I loved it and I do highly recommend it.

My thanks to the author and publisher for my copy to read and review

Full of spies and harrowing near-misses, Christine Wells's SISTERS OF THE RESISTANCE shifts effortlessly between the desperation of the final months of World War II to the glamour of Dior's post-war collection in this page-turner of a tale. Based on Catherine Dior's real-life resistance movement, this is a powerful story of the impact women have had on history.

Resistor or traitor? Yvette was summoned back to Paris to testify at the trial of Louise Dulac.

When Yvette arrived in Paris, she couldn’t face her mother or sister, Gabby, but went instead to a show Christian Dior was putting on and the place where she had worked during the war.

She was hired as a fill-in as well as a permanent model/mannequin, but her past kept coming back along with people from her past.

Her past along with her sister’s is told in alternating chapters during and after the war.

Gabby and Yvette worked for the resistance headed by Catherine Dior.

SISTERS OF THE RESISTANCE is a fascinating account that keeps you on edge as you are left hanging at the end of chapters to see what is going to happen next.

Ms. Wells’ writing keeps the reader interested with the tension of the war and the opportunity to hear about the fashions of Christian Dior. And we can’t forget romance - it is always a part of a war story.

Enjoy when you read SISTERS OF THE RESISTANCE.

Historical fiction fans will be captivated with the story line and the characters. 4/5

I really, REALLY liked this story about Catherine Dior's Paris spy network. Probably not many knew about this spy story. I didn't. The two sisters, Cabby and Yvette, slowly got dangerously involved in helping France to get rid of the Nazis.

Sisters of the Resistance by Christine Wells is an excellent WWII era historical fiction novel that kept me riveted throughout.

This book weaves a tale between 1944 Paris, France and 1947 pos-war England and France. The novel alternates between two narrators: sisters Gabby and Yvette Foucher. Each tell the story from their point of view how each one became wrapped up within the resistance. Each woman played their own part separately and as the story progresses the reader sees not only how each woman’s actions intertwine, but also how it all comes together within past and present. We also get to see Catherine Dior be a part of this narrative, and the author has impressively placed within the book her own story based on true events involving her own part within the French Resistance.

I loved the mystery, the intrigue, the suspense, the well-developed and complex characters and their respective personalities. I loved the small springs of romance that bubbled up every now and then, and the twists and turns the author placed within the story.

I loved the ending, which honestly while was satisfying, could easily be used to launch into a follow up.

I also loved all of the lovely descriptions of the Dior gowns, fabrics, designs, and fashion at its pivotal point in France at this time. The details were meticulous and stunning.

All in all a wonderful historical fiction novel that I highly recommend. Excellent.

This was a really intriguing novel. I loved that the two sisters, Gabby and Yvette have conflict, but are really there for each other. The book was especially good b/c it added in the element of glamour and excitement about working for the House of Dior.

Both sisters have people in their life they are uncertain about. I liked that this is fiction, but addressed the role Catherine Dior and several others around her took to help with WWII resistance. Gabby and Yvette both must make crucial decisions about deciding if each wants to help the resistance or not. Obviously, anyone involved puts themselves and family at great risk.

Family plays a big role in this book. Gabby and Yvette also have to think about the well being of their mother, who lives in France.

Powerful story that I really loved.

Thank You NetGalley, Christine Wells, and William Morrow for giving me an ARC of this book. Much appreciated.

Yvette and Gabby are as different as sisters can be. In German occupied Paris, both get involved with the resistance...unbeknownst to each other...in very different way. Yvette becomes a courier and Gabby hides and cares for a wounded English man. The choices they make put their lives and the lives of their family at risk but to each sister, the risks are worth it.

I loved this story. It was emotional yet suspenseful. There are very strong female characters throughout this story. I love how it sheds light on the women that were involved within the resistance...one even had a very famous last name, Dior. What is even more great about this story is that it really sheds light on the fact that WWII was very different for everyone...even members of the same family.

This is a must read for a wintery weekend!

Thank you NetGalley and Christine Wells for early access to this unforgettable novel!

Sisters of the Resistance is a great WWII historical fiction read - a story filled with suspense, intrigue and some romance as well. Set in two time periods - but only three years apart - it highlights what women went through in their efforts to fight Nazism and also the immediate impact once the war was over. If you love this time period you will not be disappointed with Christine’s book.

Always looking for something fresh that sets stories from this era apart, on this occasion it was the inclusion of the very real Catherine Dior - sister of the famous designer and a real-life heroine of the French Resistance. This book is filled with many brave and courageous women - sisters in its many forms - who played such valuable roles in helping swing the tide against the Nazis.

‘Sometimes turning away from a fight is the bravest thing to do.’

If you make reference to the Dior’s then, of course, the world of haute couture is included providing a luxurious backdrop to this otherwise chilling tale. The descriptions of the fabrics, designs and gowns provide not only light to the dark but also a perfect entry to a tale of resistance and espionage.

‘Once she left the Maison Dior, the spell would be broken for good. By contrast with this wonderland of exquisite and extraordinary beauty, her ordinary life seemed to yawn before her like a desert canyon.’

The two sisters are fictional but once again provide that yin and yang of the female trope from the period. Both strong and patriotic in their own unique ways, they play their part in the guerilla tactics with a world full of spies and double agents, never knowing who to trust. The story comes full circle with the sisters' actions combining to highlight the strength of female bonds in the fight against the enemy. Sisters of the Resistance is a well developed, complex tale inspiring to all women of any era.

‘… the door handle rattled. She was about to call out to ask what the landlady wanted when Gabby walked in. The look on her face made Yvette’s heart give a single, hard ache. "Let’s go home,’’ she said, opening her arms to her sister. Gabby nodded and walked into her embrace.’

A powerful story of resistance and patriotism set in Paris during the final months of and post WWII. Ordinary women performing extraordinarily brave acts of resistance. Inspired by Catherine Dior’s real life spy network, Sisters of the Resistance is an enthralling novel of heartbreak and hope, truth and deception, love and loss.

Christine Wells has long established herself as an evocative storyteller. Her focus within this latest novel shifts between the final months of WWII in occupied Paris and the immediate years after, when Paris was still feeling the effects of occupation, collaboration, and reprisals. I enjoy novels that include the immediate years after the war, it’s so much more interesting to me than only reading about the war years. The recovery of countries occupied and razed was long and complicated; life did not just magically go back to normal once peace was declared. I enjoyed the way Christine shifted between her two timelines, unfolding the story in pieces.

The two sisters in this novel were motivated to contribute to the resistance by vastly different forces, but both of them demonstrated that all acts, from small-scale to large-scale, made a difference, and were not without risk, the threat of torture and death an ever-present reality. While this novel was inspired by Catherine Dior’s spy network, Catherine herself was a secondary character, with the two fictional sisters at the lead, allowing the author to incorporate the history of Dior without fictitiously tampering with the life of a real woman from history – always a tricky minefield.

Novels about the heroic actions of women during WWII are becoming abundant, but I do think they are far from becoming stale. The heroism of men has been written about for decades without pause. I welcome more novels like this, ones that demonstrate that bravery and heroism was not limited to men, but that both men and women worked alongside each other and together to bring about peace. I am quite certain that there are many more women who are yet to have their stories told. Sisters of the Resistance is a fine addition to this growing historical fiction niche. Highly recommended.

Sisters of the Resistance
By: Christine Wells
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The amazing story of two sisters working in Paris. Inspired by the true story of Catherine Dior, the sister of the famous designer.
👗 🇫🇷
Gabby and Yvette live in Paris as the war is winding down in 1944. Danger is everywhere! They are both recruited by Catherine Dior and quickly find themselves as part of the Resistance. Gabby ends up risking everything for a man she is hiding from the Nazis. Ivett’s life becomes intwined with a diplomat. They are both harboring secrets, and a life that could jeopardize all that they know.
👗🇫🇷
In 1947 Paris, Yvette joins Gabby in New York to work for Dior as a mannequin. Dior is taking the fashion world over. Yvette wants to find out what happened to Catherine during the war. Too many secrets and not enough answers. This novel is fascinating and and fast paced. I look forward to more novels by this author. #sistersoftheresistance, #christinewells, #bookstagram, #booksconnectus, #stamperlady50, #williammorrow

‘With that, the realization hit her anew. Finally, finally, she was working for the resistance. At last, she would be doing something to make a difference in this war.’

A story that author Christine Wells felt needed to be told widely, Sisters of the Resistance charts the involvement, brave efforts and great sacrifices made by women during the Second World War. Inspired by Catherine Dior, sister of the famous fashion designer and French resistance icon, this exceptional historical fiction tale shines with brilliance.

Crossing the dual time periods of 1944 and 1947, Sisters of the Resistance successfully plants the reader in occupied Paris. We meet two sisters who have dedicated their lives to the French cell of the resistance movement. Yvette is the bold and daring sister who takes on any challenge issued to her. On the other hand, Gabby is the quiet but no less courageous sister. Balancing her resistance work with her role as a concierge, Gabby tries hard to keep out of trouble. However, when the sisters are acquainted with the formidable Catherine Dior, they are swept up in a world of lies, risk, danger and intrigue. Gabby takes a big chance in love and life, through her efforts in concealing a wanted man from the Nazis. Meanwhile, her younger sister is caught up in a game of truth and lies with a diplomat. The sisters must make the right moves, or they will find themselves in extreme peril, bringing everyone down around them. Moving forward in time to post war France, Sisters of the Resistance sees the two sisters in a very different light, as they prepare to take on the New York fashion world. Can the sisters successfully take on their new post war challenges?

Christine Wells is an author who is well versed in the historical fiction industry. With her keen interest in history, which was established at a young age through her father’s tales, Christine Wells presents another riveting novel about a group of fascinating women from the Second World War period. Enthralling, educative, inspiring and empowering, I have a great deal of admiration for Sisters of the Resistance.

Combining two close time periods, 1944 and 1947 respectively, Sisters of the Resistance moves deftly between both time pockets. Wells carefully presents the closing moments of the war in France, alongside the tumultuous aftermath of this dark time in history. We receive a strong and sharp account of both moments in time, thanks to the generous wartime descriptions offered up by Christine Wells. With plenty of danger, peril, intrigue, information, spies, underhanded deeds and bravery ruling this narrative, there is plenty of excitement to be had in this historical fiction presentation. For me personally, the post war time period focus seemed to have a greater impact in this novel and I was completely drawn in to the events set in the 1947 storyline. Thanks to the expressive writing of Christine Wells, I was able to fully immerse myself in this time of great upheaval, uncertainty, adversity and restoration. Sisters of the Resistance works hard to illuminate the key movements of two different but interlinked time periods. I appreciated how Wells presented her latest historical fiction tale to her readers.

Christine Wells devotes plenty of air time to lead characters Gabby and Yvette in her new novel. Through alternating viewpoints, we are easily able to step into the lives of these inspiring figures. I had plenty of admiration for both sisters, but I think Gabby occupied a greater place in my heart. Along the way the reader follows the colourful lives of Yevette and Gabby as they negotiate a series of trials, that directly places their lives in great danger. Wells gifts her readers with a powerful story with excellent characters to match. While Yvette and Gabby are fictional protagonists, influential figure Catherine Dior is a real-life insertion. Catherine is a secondary character in this novel, but she makes her mark on this novel. I really enjoyed learning more about this fascinating historical icon. Wells has excelled in her ability to blend a real-life figure within a fictional format presentation. It is never easy to combine factual elements with fiction, but Wells has succeeded in Sisters of the Resistance.

With glamour, fashion, beauty, modelling, sophistication, recreation, restitution, acceptance, matters of the heart, decision making, risk, truth, secrets, empowerment and courage leading the way in Sisters of the Resistance, Christine Wells has composed a rousing story. Turn to Sisters of the Resistance if you love an engrossing and high-quality historical fiction tale.
