Another outstanding story told as only Belcamino can. The writing is crisp and clear. the action is exciting but not gory, all the facets of human experience are on display as extremely realistic characters deal with issues great and small. I was an advanced reviewer for this book for the author. She keeps coming up with new and exciting adventures for her continuing characters while introducing new characters. Gia is searching for Rosalie to tell her of her father's death. The Sultan is searching for Rosalie to exact revenge. These forces create another pulse-pounding tale. Each of the books in this series is equal to or better than the last.
GREAT READ!! I love the Gia series and this one is an excellent addition. Gia heads to Indonesia to find Rose and let her know about her father. When she gets there, she meets a group of surfers who reluctantly tell her about the dark underworld at the island. In her effort to find Rose, she will have to deal with X, the one feared by all the villagers. An action filled adventure that had me finishing this in one sitting. Loved it!
DARK. VENGEANCE. ...Kristi. Belcamino Beach scene with the young ones living for the moment, Gia didn’t spot Rose. The love she had for her and her father, memories now of a family, Rose needed to be told. Rose too, was now running from loosing someone. The surfers took off as did her awaiting taxi, was Rose in it. Her dog had been stabbed and her book they said she wouldn’t leave them behind, she did. An evil has come to this to island and with Gia coming sets off untold evil and deadly bodies, can she stop without weapons. The peace, the stars, the lapping of the ocean water, she could feel why Rose liked it here. Nico her soul mate, both were killers, now only Rose, a part of him was left. A story that begins with a search for Rose and she instead finds herself, and learning now to embrace each moments and life. Living with a new freedom and energy for herself. Letting Rose and others now follow their own path Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Read in one sitting. Gia is anxious to find Rose to tell her Nico has died; but Rose does not want to be found. Arriving on the island where Rose is thought to be hiding, Gia just misses her. Shortly, Gia realizes Rose has been kidnapped. Alone and unarmed, Gia plans to rescue Rose. Gia won't be getting much help, her plan is not well thought out, and there are problems at every turn. By the end of the novel, Gia has made several realizations about her life and what she will do going forward. This book is like a prequel setting up a new direction for Gia to follow in coming books. As always, I hope the next book in this series will be available soon.
A gritty, intense, fast-paced, riveting, artful melding of stunning psychological thrills and nail-biting suspense. An edgy mystery full of dark secrets, shocking plot twists and pulse-pounding, palpable tension. A MUST for fans who thrive on superbly-written, unputdownable thrillers!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
Once again Kristi Belcamino has written an exciting, fast-paced story that I couldn't put down. Gia, who is one of my all-time favorites, sets out to look for Rose to tell her about her father. Her journey takes her to an Indonesian island....almost seems like an island of misfits. Because of her grit and strength, Gia rights the wrongs done to so many by an evil man. Unfortunately though Gia doesn't get to see Rose, which is heartbreaking. Gia hopefully, is now on her own path to healing. This was an outstanding book and I highly recommend it.....in fact the whole series is worth reading. I look forward to more books about Gia, Eva and Rose.

Gia is on a mission to find Rose who has disappeared and may be on an island where the inhabitants are all hiding from someone or something. When she meets many of the locals and asks questions about Rose, she basically gets no response. What she learns is there is an evil psychopath who has taken over the island. Everyone is afraid of him except Gia. She is not about to let this man intimidate her and everyone on the island. You will definitely want to read this book to learn what happens. I really liked this book! Such interesting characters. There is no one like Gia—such a badass!! I read this book in record time and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Grieving from Nico's death, Gia is trying to locate Rose to notify her of his death. But Rose is like Gia, independent and strong minded. Gia definitely seems like a lost soul. Hanging with surfers, getting high and fighting a war with a guy calling himself "X". Her personality has shifted quite a bit over the last few books, becoming more emotional and less aggressive. Just like the rest of us she's getting older and wiser in her older years and maybe reprioritizing her life. Rose is more of the loose cannon that Gia used to be. I highly recommend reading the previous books, not jumping into this book blind. There's so much backstory to the main character that would make the story more enjoyable. I received an early copy and wrote my voluntary review without bias.
MS. BELCAMINO HAS WOVEN A STORY SO DARK AND DANGEROUS THAT IS GOES STRAIGHT TO YOUR HEART AND NEVER LEAVES. DYNAMIC CHARACTERS TELL A HEART-BREAKING STORY OF VIOLENCE, DEPRAVITY, LOSS AND FINDING ONESELF. EMOTIONALLY DRAINING, RIVETING AND TRIUMPHANT. IT IS ONE OF A KIND AND SPELL-BINDING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Nico has passed away. Gia goes to Indonesia to the island where Rose is. Her intension is to let Rose know her father is dead. When Gia gets to the island, Rose is missing and her dog has been stabbed. Rose would never leave her dog. Gia learns about X who takes young women and sells them. This is another page turning thriller that pulls you in from the beginning.
Dark Vengeance: A Vigilante Justice Crime Thriller (Gia Santella Crime Thriller Series Book 12) by Kristi Belcamino is a fantastic story that I have read. This is book number twelve in this fantastic series that I am so hooked on. I can not wait to finish this fantastic series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about thrillers.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Gia is searching for Rose, trying to let her know the recent sad news, but Rose is always a step ahead. On a small island Gia finds a trace but encounters roadblocks at every question. Can she break through the mistrust and find Rose? Can she do this before Rose is taken by a maniac or the Sultan? Another excellent hit in the Gia series. I recommend this.
Dark Vengeance brings us to Indonesia where Gia is in search of Rose. The beach camp where Rose has taken up residence is full of people hiding from one thing or another. But where is Rose and who has taken her upon Gia’s arrival? As Gia searches for Rose she encounters both the Sultan and a character named X. Neither are up to any good. You will love to travel these roads with Gia, she has come so far literally and figuratively. The ending brought tears to my eyes, it is that good!
This is book 12 in this series and gia is back and better than ever. I received this book as an arc in exchange for my honest opinion. This was a great book non stop action and a real page tuner will have you forgetting everything else just to be able to keep going.
Wow! Gia in her search for Rose finds herself involved with all sorts of trouble. What a badass! Gia handles all of her troubles with skill and grace. She never lets her search for for her daughter get sidetracked by all of the issues surrounding her. Great read! Definitely recommend this book.
I was lucky enough to have gotten a ARC copy of this book from the author. I am volunteering to leave this review. Awesome book plenty twist and turns. Wlld roller-coaster ride.
I have to say to my chagrin, that this is the first Gia Santella book I have read and my god have I been missing out. This book got me hooked from the beginning right through to the end. Jus couldn’t put it down it was that good. Cannot wait for the next one. Highly recommended.
Seeking answers at a remote beach, vigilante heiress Gia Santella is shocked to witness her daughter Rose being kidnapped and even more so to find Rose's beloved dog Dylan badly injured and abandoned in the beach hut that she was taken from. As Gia gets help for Dylan, she also starts a slow-building vendetta against Rose's abductor.
Who is the mysterious X? How is Gia's Nemesis The Sheikh involved? Where does Gia turn for help in locating Rose?
With unexpected twists and turns you'll have to really rack your brains to guess how Gia overcomes her enemies and makes a difference to local residents' lives on a remote island...or why not get a copy of Kristi Belcamino's excellent crime-thriller, Dark Vengeance?
Another hit!!! The book moves at a great pace and keeps you hanging on for the whole book. This is one of those books that you can read on it's own but is definitely better if you read the others first. I missed one and now I feel like I want to go back and read it to make sure I know everything that is going on. Gia takes you on wild ride and while there are couple chuckles it is true to KB's style. Give it a chance and you won't be disappointed
I try to read all the Gia Santella books. They are action packed and hard to put down. They all appear to have the same level of action and suspense. I am always trying to figure out who done it but the author keeps me guessing.
I realle nnjoyed reading this book as well as all the others in the Gia Santella series. The Queen of Spades series is also top notch reading.
Omg.. another great read... So hooked on Gia and Rose. Cannot wait for Gia's next adventure. She is a strong woman and hopefully will be into a new relationship with you know who soon...🤭 If you haven't read any of the Gia books yet..what are you waiting on 🤗
Gia is in a dark place, having lost yet another person she loves. She sets off to find Rose to tell her about Nico, only to find herself in another perilous situation on a beautiful island where the local people are being terrified by the mysterious “X”. Rose is no where to be found and worse, she left her beloved dog Dylan behind and injured . Gia knows Rose would never do this and must be in grave danger. Another fast paced great read by Kristi Belcamino. I was given an ARC and I read this in one day. The characters that Gia encounters on the island each add depth to the story and you wonder how they interacted with Rose and Dylan. Gia is not fully prepared for what she finds herself involved in but must draw on other resources within herself and others around her. This leads her to some soul searching and reflections on her life and opens her eyes to what her next steps should be. I can’t wait for the next installment because I’m sure Kristi will have some twists in the story we aren’t expecting. Plus hearing more about where Rose was while Gia was searching for her. Keep em coming please.

I really, really enjoyed the latest Gia book. I have read all of the books in the series and in the past books Eva and Rose have played large roles that overshadowed Gia a little bit in short books as she took a backseat to their development.
I look forward to continuing to following the strong women in this series, however in this book Gia seems to gain back her sense of self after spending so much of her past 5-10 years caring for Rose and her husband. In Dark Vengeance Gia tries to find Rose to tell her of her father’s death but as she gets to the island Rose is kidnapped and Gia races to find her.
It was really disappointing to me that Rose has gone awol in Gia’s life. She is on a mission to kill the sultan because he killed her love, but Gia is still living, has been stuck with being the loving caregiver for a husband with dementia and alone in Spain. I would think that Rose could make the effort to at least send emails to her mom or call her given Rose’s hacking skills and burner phones.
It feels as if she has abandoned Gia, who has been nothing but supportive of her adopted daughter.
Gia has fast become one of my favorite heroines. She is a tough protector of those she loves, often putting her own safety second. Dark Vengeance finds Gia emotionally raw and reeling from the loss of Nico, who brought love, stability and normalcy to her life. Gia sets out to find Rose, Nico's daughter, to inform her of his death. Rose is on her own quest to avenge the death of her fiancee at the hands of a cruel villain "The Sultan". Gia tracks Rose to a remote island, arriving just as Rose is kidnapped and her dog left seriously injured. Gia is filled with feelings of guilt and blame, fearing she may have lead danger to Rose. Gia must draw on her strength and Italian vigilante skills to try and save Rose and her beloved dog by taking down the mysterious "X" who has tormented the islanders and has ties to "The Sultan". I love how the author brings Gia to life in a way that draws me in and keeps me thoroughly engaged until the last page. With each book, Gia seems to mature and I enjoy seeing a character that is intense and focused, yet has some vulnerability. The ending of this book has me so excited to see whats ahead for Gia, especially with the new characters that have been introduced in this book.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my unbiased and unsolicited honest opinion. Kristi Belcamino gives us what I will simply label as nothing less than a fantastic read. Her stories continue to elevate her to the level of Karin Slaughter and Tess Gerritsen. Gia has always been one of my favorite characters and this book satisfies the need for a Gia book since finishing the last one and while waiting for the next one. A well-developed story and characters that are easy to jump into and preclude the necessity to read the others before this, however, you really should (if you haven't yet) for the COMPLETE back story. Full of twists and turns and intertwined storylines that captivates the reader from the first through last words. This book has Gia on a different type of mission to locate Rose, and just proves to us more than ever that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Characters you love to love and love to hate, with edge of your seat, nail biter moments that just won't let you put the book down. Gia is in a super bad place, grief-stricken but manages to press on in her in your face, take no prisoner ways! A fresh clean storyline, that moves at a quick pace, never a dull moment!
Gia's life is once again turned upside down and she has to find new landmarks and meaning in her life. But first, she has to find her daughter Rose in order to announce her father's death. She arrives too late on the island where Rose is, as she has just been kidnapped. Gia will find herself in spite of herself at the heart of a new adventure where time is running out to save lives, including her own. She can't find Rose, but she will reconnect with a part of her old life where she was fighting evil and where nothing could stop her. Gia is a little rusty but she still has the soul of a fighter. She also has the ability to be more in touch with her feelings and to connect with the people she meets. I can't wait to see where this new life will lead Gia and hope to see Rose in the next books. If you are looking for excitement and action, Kristi Belcamino's books are for you. I’m a member of Ms Belcamino's ARC Team and I received a free copy of the book from the author.
Dark vengeance Is the 12 book in the GIa Santella series. Gia leaves Barcelona In search of Rose after losing after losing Nico. She finds her self on an Indonesian island at a surf camp where people go to hide from life and start fresh. In her search there for Rose she finds that rose has disappeared and not of her own accord. She discovers the evil from Roses past has caught up with her and she will do anything ,including killing to get her back. The Gia series from book one to book 12 is a must read for crime thriller fans! Once you get started you wont be able to put it down!
Kristi has done it again. Out searching for Rose who has taken off after training with Eva in Italy, Gia encounters some of the most despicable villains yet. Bunking with beach living surfers in the islands in Rose’s deserted bungalow she tracks her to the home of an evil drug and human trafficker. He wants to trade her to another evil overlord, an arch enemy of Gia’s, in exchange for the pay off of a debt owed. Adventure abounds as Gia finds who she has become now since the loss of Nico and Rose’s newfound independence. Can’t wait for the next one.
I am not prone to tears, but Kristi brought a lot of emotion to this latest look into Gia’s life. The adventure is intense with action that only Gia can bring to life which made me read it through the night. It was so fast paced that I kept saying to myself that I would only read one more chapter before putting it down. And then I was finished. Gia continues to fight the demons of her past losses and come to grip with what her future will bring. This is truly a heart pounding book both in action and emotion.
