This five-week, in-depth study of 1 Peter points us to themes of grace, suffering, and the hope of the gospel. The book of 1 Peter is filled with rich theological truth that compels us to live the Christian life with purpose and conviction. Through the study of 1 Peter, we will find that God gives grace right in the midst of the wilderness. The book contains the daily study material as well as study suggestions and extra features like timelines, maps, and charts to help you dig deeper. Each week contains five days of study material, including daily study questions. Each week also has a memory verse day and a weekly reflection day to help dig deeper into Scripture. The study is perfect for individuals or groups.
4.5🌟 I enjoyed this Bible study book. While it wasn't as in-depth as some Bible studies she did a good job of going over the context as well as what the people that Peter was writing to would have known and understood. I liked the questions at the end of each day's reading, it helped me to think more deeply. Her summation of this book is that as God's people we are set apart for obedience, we are chosen and elect by God but we are also exiles and strangers in this world, this world is not our home. We are living for a kingdom that is not of this earth.
FINALLY FINISHED THIS!!!!! I know I took literally forever but this was a great read and I love how in depth it went. I feel like I have a much better understanding of 1 peter and the main ideas and it was just so nice being able to do a deep dive! last year I did the Bible in a year and this was just such a nice change of pace to really take my time in one book. highly recommend the daily grace, I feel like I learned so much!
This was the fourth study that I've done through The Daily Grace Co and as always I've grown so much through the reading and devotionals. Having finished this one though I felt I missed quite a bit so I'm jumping right back in at the beginning and starting over. There is so much depth in this short little book of I Peter that's very relevant for today and I don't want to miss anything.
Beautiful companion study on the book of 1 Peter. Per usual, The Daily Grace does a wonderful job of instilling the overall theme of suffering and standing firm, but I would have liked the author to go more in depth at times. The main points had a tendency to be repetitive. Nonetheless, this is a good supplemental resource for studying 1 Peter.
As I did this study, I also wrote out the book of 1 Peter as I studied each section. It really helped me to understand and to feel closer to God in the Word. I really enjoyed this study. Most of it was done during independent studies while camping, so I had few distractions and Bible study was my focus. I appreciated the author explaining what the readers of the past would have known and understood, too. It helped put things in perspective.
First study I've done by daily grace co, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the depth of the study and the emphasis on the gospel. I learned something new each week and am leaving the study with a better understanding of 1 Peter as a whole.
Wonderful study! A little bit deeper commentary (especially on the marriage chapter) might have been good, but then again, having it so short made it much easier to get through the daily devotional sections. Very encouraging in any case!
