Retirement is all about Income not Assets. If you are out of time and need a boost to your retirement income, this may be the most important book you can read in order to create the income you need for your retirement.

In just 9 months, Michelle Kulp, created $2,300 per month in passive income and has replaced her social security income by writing one short book per month.

Michelle is creating Wealth Through Words and wants to invite you on this incredible journey with her.

Answer the following

Would you like to retire sooner rather than later? Are you unprepared for retirement?Have you lost thousands of dollars in your 401K and are fearful for your future?Do you worry that social security might not be around when you’re ready to collect?Would you like to retire in the next 12 months? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then Digital Retirement will give you a proven strategy for creating a brand new financial future.

If you want to maintain your lifestyle when you retire, then it’s time to take matters into your own hands…literally.

Meh

Not much in the way of information. Google would've provided better info. This book was useless for fiction writers. Pass

All sizzle, no steak.

This "book" is more like a pamphlet that reads like an infomercial. I bailed at 25% because I kept thinking that surely she'd be done with the hype but nah. It's a total waste of time as the bulk of the material is all about the material she found in online articles and blog posts about how poorly underfunded people are with an "expert" aka one of her students explaining how people aren't approaching retirement properly. Of course, both authors keep harping on about the courses and Facebook group that can address all the issues and problems laid out.

There are no real solutions presented in this material because they only direct you elsewhere.
It's like they haven't even figured out who their readers are or why we might pick up this title. We already know that retirement planning is important. We already know we could be doing more to save up for retirement. That's why the title appealed in the first place and they're so busy selling us the book without comprehending the fact that I got it and I'm reading it.

With all self-help books, there's a certain structure - it's a trope of the genre - to have the author lay out a general overview followed up by a chapter about how they came to develop their method or criteria plus a section of personal story to explain to the reader why the author can be trusted. The sketch of that is included but there are so many exclamation marks! So much hype! So much trying too hard! To justify the existence of the author and her book! Then there's an advert for a FB group presented as a "Freebie" that comes out of nowhere like a pop-up window on a website followed up by a "guest post" by a successful student! He's an 'expert' in retirement planning! He can vouch for her! I think you get the point, it all gets to be way too much.

I'm ready to supplement my retirement

I had to retire years before I had planned to due disability. Yes, I currently receive enough income to cover most of my expenses but I think that social security may not last too much longer. I'd like to have some things paid off and a nice nest egg in the bank for whenever that day comes.

Thanks so much for giving me this idea.

She definitely got better at this with practice! Her later books are a lot better. The ones I’ve read all feel like collections of poorly-glued-together ideas, though, and this one is no exception.

Also, I’m realizing that part of what makes it easier to write a book a month is reusing the same content over and over. I’d say at least 60% of this one is stuff I’ve already read in her other books, and this is only the third book of hers I’ve read.

Also, in one of these books (I think it was Write your way to $100k) she specifically advises people to stay more inspirational/what to do, and avoid writing about the “how” because her end goal is high-ticket clients and she thinks only DIYers will read the “how.”

Maybe, but I’m not so sure. I have heard others say the same—stick with the foo-foo and don’t teach too much, or you’ll just flood people and they won’t buy. That was for webinars and VSLs though. I don’t know if I can really get behind creating a non-actionable book.

Anyway, this author practices what she preaches. These books aren’t actionable unless you already know what you’re doing. And like I said, there’s a ton of repeated material from book to book, even when some of it doesn’t seem like it 100% fits the topic.

I’m not opposed to repeated material per se. I talk about the same things over and over in my programs, too. Sometimes I even reuse the same videos. But thinking strategically as an author, I do want to try writing a book a month like she said. I was planning on writing series and trying to maximize through-reads. I guess some people like reading the same information over and over, but I don’t. I would think all this copying and pasting ends up costing you in the long run. I may skim one or two more of this author’s books just to see if there’s anything I missed, but I sure wouldn’t if I was paying per copy for them. As it is, they’re in Kindle Unlimited, so it’s like, whatever.

But going back to this book, if the idea of online business is new to you, this might be a really exciting and useful book. For everyone else, probably not.

Kudos for the great possibilities

Truly it's hard to imagine that just one generation I go a whole bunch of writers dedicated their entire writing lives to be published.

Of course as self-publishing wasn't a thing, you'd be surprised at how much time of their lives where dedicated to it. But their work wasn't in vain since throughout time they created demand for new services.

Now with Kindle you can not only self-publish your books, which - as surprising as it may be to you - have many secondary benefits that can be more profitable than selling the books.

That being said, much of the value of the books besides the practical how-tos are an example of what you can achieve financially. In marketing terms which may be unown to many writers, it's akin to a sales forecast.

What's left is not only to get the job done and leave it as a project, but to take some time every single day to achieve your goals.

Hoping that one day my husband and I will live off the rest of our years on his 401k is a pipe dream. We both know retirement is unlikely, so looking in to different ways to make money in our later years, or better yet, starting now, (I’m 34 and he’s 39) sounds much better than praying social security will still exists when we’re of retirement age, whatever that ends up being when we get there.

So you may be wondering. Is this books information even do-able or is it just a long ad for Kulps own products? Well, while the author certainly promotes her own work, which is only smart business, she also gives plenty of information that you can easily take away and make use of. I personally intend to give her book a month idea some heavy effort in the near future.

Interesting ideas with realistic numbers

This book was pretty eye-opening. I always like the idea of writing a book or a series of books. I know the field of digital books is extremely crowded. By pointing out that you should only realistically expect to make a few hundred dollars a month for each book it set my sights well. I currently sell a product that I invented on Amazon and while it is not breaking any records I’m pulling in a few hundred dollars a month from hard work that I did 12 years ago. This book has inspired me to think I could possibly do the same thing by writing books.

A book on writing your way into retirement

I love Michelle Kulp! All of her books are inspiring for would-be writers like myself and provide step by step instructions for getting started. The title is a little deceiving, though. This book is about retiring early, but it also contains a lot of the same information as her other books on the “Book A Month” method. All useful information, of course.

Passive income

This is a book and passive income. Basically it’s about writing books how you can write books in the software you can get to help you write books. She does a good job showing you how she got involved in it and she has a lot of resources to help you. This is a good book if you’re a writer

Don’t get me wrong. The idea is a good one and possible.

However, after reading this short book I feel like I didn’t learnt anything and that I just read a big ad for the other books and programs this author has.

She has a chapter called “How to not write crappy books”.

However, this is a crappy book.

Good information

Good insights into the KDP process as well as the problems facing us as we approach retirement. Written with a pleasant, conversational tone. Some areas were a little over-explained, but those areas presented information with which I was already familiar. This may not be the case for other readers. Overall, the book is an enjoyable read.

Got to try to know if strategy will work

It seems the information is solid and sounds realistic. Insider tips and real life examples to help plan success. Yes, I'd recommend this read to retires for a balanced evaluation of the information included in this book. I don't see this book as a unrealistic get rich scheme, but an option to consider to make ends meet and
more.

Food for thought...

Kulp brings to light a real problem for millions of Americans: retirement. It is a scary, complicated subject with no easy answers in this tumultuous economy. However, she does offer some very solid advice and some clear cut strategies if you are an author or an aspiring writer.

Quantified Retirement

This book explains that retirement is not about age but rather it is about passive income and life choices. Michelle Kulp outlines what must be done to create sufficient ongoing income to retire. In a no-holds-barred style she lays bare the methodology to achieve this in the shortest possible time by using a deliberate plan. Highly recommended.

I’m already an indy writer but this book helped me see the potential in publishing a larger number of shorter books.

Because of this book, I’ve mapped out a timeline and schedule to help bring in additional revenue.

Quick read and very helpful.

Wow!

Michelle Kulp has the blueprint for earning passive income. I wish I had this book a decade ago when I was just starting out. It’s geared toward non-fiction authors, but fiction authors can use its advice effectively.

Very informative!

I have been considering and over thinking self-publishing the past few weeks. For some reason "Digital Retirement" has resonated the most for me. Tomorrow morning (01/24/2022) I will start a deep dive into the resource list. See you in the Fb group.

good but not what I was expecting

I expected an honest breakdown. I got that kudos for not overselling hype. However she admits a lot of her success was coding backend which amazon can mess up anytime

This is a book about writing books like this one. It describes how to write and publish short books that sell. I found it interesting but not really what I thought it would be about. I hope everyone doesn't follow the advice or books won't be that interesting.

90% Why you should. Less than 10% how to.

Plus, the author references a certain success story author more than once and doesn't even get his name right. Either time.
