Tao of Your Game is a book I wrote for you to share that I see life as a game where playing is living and living is constant movement – this is to be alive. In this sense, life is a game and the game is life, meaning that you need to grow your imagination and discover new ways of doing things in order to achieve results you couldn’t achieve before and see views you haven’t seen yet. I’m willing to share with you what I’ve learned – my way of living, the methods and mindset that work for me, but the best I can do is to encourage you to listen to yourself, explore and recognize what works for you.
It is a difficult task to find a balance in one's own life. "TAO OF YOUR GAME" by Dr. Bozhana Ilieva Ivanova is a book that helps you to achieve your balance in life on your terms.
She has handpicked the life experiences that motivated her to live the life she lives. All she wants is to share her tools with the whole world about how she has managed to balance her life so well. She has few tools to handle the deeply rooted patterns of behaviors that hampers our way of life. In the first half of the book, she describes her way of life and explains why she thinks that way. I loved the use of examples that have showcased her way of life with unerring honesty and in easy to understand conversational style. The final part provides her strategies and tools to conquer any habits limiting her to live the best life. The tools that she has mentioned are adaptable to our life, provided we have clarity in our dreams and values we cherish.
I will like to recommend this book to all the action takers. I invite them to find balance in life and to take action with consistent efforts. The thing that I love about this book is that you are the main hero. You can discover methods that suit you. She never forces the readers to follow blindly but to devise their understanding of the Tao of the Game. "This isn't what Tao of your Game wants to deliver." I want to leave this review with her beautiful statement in the book, "Life is a game where playing is living, and living is constant movement – this is what it means to be alive."
Tao of your Game by Bozhana Ivanova is a manifesto of self-exploration.
The book is a first-person narrative of the author’s personal methods and outlook on life, collected and revised from a mix of influences including Taoist principles, generational stories, and surprisingly, Agile methodology. There are two sections — the Mindset section which is the why and how behind choosing and setting up a goal, and instilling values and discipline to work towards the goal; and then the Performance section which details how to implement and act towards the goal.
While some of the methods are standard tips on personal growth, the book largely reads fresh with new takeaways. I found the sections on Cycles of Activation and Transference of Energy were illuminating and gave me something to think about. The book is dotted with helpful illustrations and exercises to pause and reflect on the questions in the reader’s own life.
There is a slight disconnect in the approach in the two sections of the book, with a sudden jump into Agile methodologies. Perhaps with a more thorough attempt at the exercises or with another reading, the book may read cohesively to me.
The book doesn’t go into a spiritual approach or superficial positivity that books on self-improvement tend to push. Tao of your Game simply enunciates practical, implementable ways to train your thoughts and actions into building a meaningful life, relationships, and interests.
The first person voice and straightforward language, often seems hypnotic, as if the “I” is an embodiment of my own conscience and not just the author’s narrative, which I found rather calming.
There is massive value in reading and implementing this book. As the author mentions, this book is for someone willing to put in the work to effect changes in their lives and creating new methods with this framework, and to find their own way.
(I received a copy of this book to review on Discovery by Reedsy)
I love this book! I read it every day and I started applying the organisation methods in my everyday life. It feels awesome! I can only recommend reading it and if you are not acquainted to the methods inside you can research them separately.
The book is fantastic. I just love this read it give me courage to set my goals and achievements. There are many good lines that inspire me but this line was amazing. "Every change creates a wave and effect many aspects of life, this is why it is important to wisely choose the direction of change". I like it very much.
A tiny book with a big meaning. Easy to read. One of the most import books I have read. The premise of the book is bases of cognitive psychology, self development, including some tools for daily improving. I realised what I believe affects my whole life. Wenn I start to change my beliefs, ie , my mindset my life somehow start to change. I watched my entire life how I reacted to relationships, sports, arts as well as my business. Now I constantly ask my self and probe my brain for reactions. This book will change the reader and people around him. What we need is dedication, effort and discipline. Tao of your Game constitutes my daily reminder. Many congratulations to the Author Mrs. Ivanova.
