Recker’s weary, tired, and ready for a break. Believing that Recker might leave for an extended vacation, and instead of letting Haley fly solo for a while, Jones goes hunting to add another member to the team. He settles on a former CIA agent named Paxton Phillips.
They are all hopeful that Phillips will blend into the group as easily as Haley once did. Unfortunately, they are not so lucky. Phillips does not necessarily share the same beliefs as the rest of the team, and he instantly clashes with Vincent’s men.
Could this be the last anyone sees of The Silencer? Will he return to guide the new team into a new era? Or, will he ride into the sunset, leaving Jones, Haley, and Phillips to settle into their new dynamic?

So. You Think You Are Having a Bad Day...Well Even "The Silencer" Has Them Too!
Leave it to Mike Ryan, the author, to "shake things up" after 13 previous books in the series, our hero's "angst" begins to overwhelm him, and he finds himself questioning, not only his actions, but those of all around him.
I really don't want to give away anything, but I truly found this an exceptionally well thought out book by the author. It is a book that truly made me think of some of my own "life decisions". Those past that have led me to where I am, as well as those that may affect my future. Chilling stuff.
Mike Ryan, in "Recoil", has outdone himself with this one, and while I would not say it was a "relaxing" read, it certainly was a "thought inducing" one.
Yes I recommend this book, as I personally believe it is the best one in the series to date. Of course if you have not read the other 13 books you are not going to know just what brought all this "angst" and "thought" to the fore. Start with book one, and read your way though them. They are all well written, and enjoyable reads. I am certain that if you do you shall enjoy "Recoil" all the more.
Thank you, Mike Ryan, for sharing "The Silencer's" thoughts with us. I will be looking forward to the next book. If there is a "next book" in this series.
This novel puts the series back on track. While I applaud the Professor bringing on more members to the Silencer team, I am not crazy about the newest member and most don't, including Haley and Recker. The Professor hopes the new Silencer will be able to work within their operations, but it remains iffy as the whether he is a good fit. If he is not a good fit after giving him time to adjust, hopefully they'll cut him loose sooner than later. Also, after he is dismissed, it is also hopeful that he doesn't become a new problem they'd have to deal with down the road. Adding this new character along with new threats helps shakes things up which is always needed throughout the course of any series to keep it fresh. This novel delivers what I come to expect from the series. Recommended. Off to the next novel.
The latest story in the Silencer series sees Recker deciding he needs a break and a new person is brought in by Jones who has a very different attitude to the rest of the team which puts strain on the relationship built up with Vincent. Plenty of action and close encounters with Jerrick's criminal group and questions about what will happen in future stories.
Ok this one was frustrating and yet I couldn’t put it down. As they add a new member to the team with lots of attitude, I found myself frustrated with him and frustrated with Jones.
They really did a nice job of building out Haily a bit more in this novel.
Lots of the same battles but with a bit of twist here and there. When will they get that Jericho??
Story ok not up to previous ones. Not much depth a lot of angst just sort of blah. But if u read this series you have to read so any future books make sense

★★★¼: It was alright. I'm not a fan of the new guy, Paxton Phillips.
