TAMING ELIJAH

A passion born in danger but destined to flame into love.

Sheridan Wentworth left London's polite society for the wild, savage west. She is harassed by unwanted suitors desiring both her body and her fortune. Sheridan turns to Elijah Kincaid for his protection, except he is determined to run from her perceived fragility, instead of toward her willing arms. Determined to show him she is the right woman with whom to build a future rich with love and family, she boldly sets out to court and seduces a man as untamed and savage as the land itself.

TEMPTING BETHANY

Miss Bethany Galloway has had enough of the perilous and savage beauty of the West, and she is determined to travel to Boston, leaving the regret and pains of the past behind. Except, to her distress, Joshua Kincaid has other ideas, namely courting and then marrying her. Although she is passionately drawn to Joshua’s dangerous charm, he represents everything Beth is running from—lawlessness. She struggles to escape the desires awakened by his touch. However, his kisses and gentle seduction ignites within her an irresistible, aching need to stay with him, despite wanting to flee from the dangerous men hunting her.

LAWLESS: NOAH KINCAID

Noah Kincaid has a ruthless reputation, known in the untamed West as ‘Lawless.’ He does not seek distractions or attachments, especially one as lovely, fierce, and passionate as Miss Ada Bancroft. Rescuing her from a gang bent on mayhem, they are forced to flee together. Now Noah has a mystery to unravel, to evade outlaws seeking to kill him, and fight the irresistible attraction he feels for the stunningly sensual and gutsy lady.

As Noah and his dog Dutch, protect Ada through the perilous wilds of Wyoming, she finds herself drawn to the taciturn but dangerously enigmatic man. A man, her father would never approve of her marrying. Everything is complicated by raw passion, and Ada has resolved only to marry Noah Kincaid. Except she would need to seduce Noah’s cold, careful heart into taking a gamble on true love.

I am an unapologetic romance lover. I read it. I write it. Enough said. Well..I also have a warrior way "Never give up on my dreams." I spend a copious amount of time drooling over Rick Grimes from Walking Dead, watching Japanese anime and playing video games with my love, Dusean.

Taming Elijah
I love going to back to reading Westerns. Elijah and Sheridan were such a great couple and the their story is sexy and an adventure. Great story.

Tempting Bethany
I read Taming Elijah and loved it and thought this would be just as wonderful. Let me say, it surpassed it. I really loved this book. The emotions of living in the West during this time period are brought out to perfection. You can feel the love of Joshua and Bethany right from the beginning of the story. Bethany is strong and rises over the tragedy of an emotional marriage but Joshua steals the book, he is loyal, kind, honorable and (sigh) swoon-worthy.

Lawless
WOW! Ada wanted to experience an outlaw and boy did she. Noah is definitely a very protective swoon-worthy hero. He is quiet and deadly. I love a hero who is tortured (which Noah kind of is but not too much) but sees that love will help him through his troubles. And what can you say about Dutch but loyal to a fault. Ada experiences quite a bit and I love her take-no-prisoners attitude. They are so cute and sweet together. This is my favorite Kincaid story.

Wonder what will happen with Sarah??? Will she get a story?

Taming Elijah 4.5 stars
Although I enjoyed this story, I did feel like shaking Elijah at times. I can understand to a certain extent where he fears stemmed from but surely he realised not all women were the same. Sheridan was certainly persistent and knew what she wanted. I did feel sorry for her due to her early life, her marriage and Elijah’s stubbornness. It takes a number of dangerous events and some strong words before Elijah can come to terms with how he feels. This was an entertaining read.
Tempting Bethany 5*
What a captivating read! The two main characters are Joshua and Bethany. Joshua was handsome in a rugged way and had a wildness about him but he’smalso very protective of those he loved. His family was very important to him. Bethany was used to Boston and found the West much too lawless for her liking. However, Joshua and Bethany had more than an attraction to each other but how could they resolve their differences. They are a number of dangerous events in the story. This was a fast paced story that kept me entertained until the end.
Lawless; Noah Kincaid
4.5 stars
This was certainly action packed, right from the beginning. Ada is thought of as being wilful by her family and she is bold, determined and goes after what she wants. She dreams of being a writer. For some unknown reason, Ada is being targeted by a group of outlaws but the reason is a mystery. Noah Kincaid comes to her aid. Their attraction deepens as they spend time together. However, Noah’s background makes it dangerous for him to commit to Ada. There are a number of passion moments. This was an engaging read but I would have liked an epilogue. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Three stories, three brother, three steamy western romances

Ms. Reid’s trilogy of the three Kincaid brothers is excellently done. This is not her usual fare, which is regency romance. The characters have real depth. The brothers have compassion for women who are wronged or attacked and they want to protect them. The women are complex and very loving in nature. The intimate scenes are intense with and an extra measure of steam. The stories are entertaining and with just enough twists to keep the reader involves in the story.

“Taming Elijah” -- A wealthy English girl, Sheridan, comes to Wyoming after being abandoned by her family. She marries into a loveless marriage with a man who is only interested in her wealth After acquiring a ranch with her substantial dowry he abandons her on the ranch. She longs for a real love and finds it in Elijah. They spend a few weeks in intimate bliss until Elijah discovers that she is married to someone. Feeling betrayed and lied to he gives up and move on. After he husband dies she is claimed by a cruel man. She turns to Elijah for protection and seeks his forgiveness As his protection progresses she admits her love for Elijah and he eventually realizes his love for her.

“Tempting Bethany” -- Bethany was wed to a horrific man who only intends to sell him in his saloon. He loses her in a card game to Joshua Kincaid and they spend a very intimate hour together, where he discovers she is a virgin. He leaves because he is mad with himself about his actions with this girl. Bethany manages to escape from her husband and travels to her brother’s ranch in Wyoming near the Kincaid ranch. She is followed by a man who wants her and after two years not seeing her Joshua takes it upon himself to protect Bethany from the evil and cruel man. This protection develops into a delayed romance and true love.

“Lawless: Noah Kincaid” -- Noah meets Ada during a train robbery where he realizes that the outlaws are trying to kidnap Ada. He rescues her and on the six week trip as he brings her to her father’s ranch they develop affections for each other. Even on her father’s ranch Noah discovers the outlaws are still after her and he becomes her protector/ This develops into a steamy romantic relationship and true love. It is a great story by a wonderful story teller and you need to read it to find out the details.

Enjoy these action adventure stories of the Wild West featuring the Kincaids. Titles included are: TAMING ELIJAH, TEMPTING BETHANY, and LAWLESS: NOAH KINCAID. Below is a review of one of the books to give you an idea of what you’ll find in this set.

*** Reviewing “LAWLESS: NOAH KINCAID (BOOK 3)” ***
Miss Ada Heide Bancroft admired the man sitting across from her on the train. He was exactly as she described an outlaw in the unpublished novels she wrote – handsome, dashing, with a rakish air of danger and menace. She sketched him in her sketch pad with charcoal to help refresh her memory as she returned to her writing later. She wished she could see his face and later got her wish as he rested his head back on the seat. When his eyes opened, she noted aloud that they were green. And she talked to him about his dog, much to her step-mother’s dismay.

Noah Kincaid has the reputation of a ruthless, lawless man. The young woman speaks to him on a journey by train, and shakes his dog’s paw in greeting! The dog’s easy acceptance of her made Noah more receptive as well. When a gang makes an attempt to kidnap Ada, Noah comes to her rescue and the two of them flee from the train to escape. Noah and his dog, Dutch, keep Ada safe while he tries to get her home, and she begins to feel a strong attraction to the brave protective man. Ada herself is fearless and strong, not the frail flower her family would wish her to be. She is willing to fight against the bad guys alongside Noah. Mutual respect pulls them even closer to each other. Their path to happiness will not be an easy one, but deeply knowing and understanding each other will put them on a very strong foundation if she can convince Noah that he’s perfect for her!

This was a wonderful story that keeps the reader’s attention from the start. Such an independent woman as Ada would not be happy with the arranged marriage her father has set up. Fate’s intervention with the strong, protective Noah came at the perfect time to give both of them a chance at something very real. Grab your copy and see if they take advantage of a chance to find each other and the HEA that may be waiting for them. Then read the other two books – you’ll love this box set!

Outstanding all the way!
These books are wonderful westerns I reviewed one of the book Lawless below is that review. I have also included notes on the other two outstanding pieces. These books will captivate and entertain you. Deep in passion and showing the struggles that the characters go through was brilliantly written. This is a group of books that I highly recommend. I did receive a free copy of this story and voluntarily chose to review it.
TAMING ELIJAH: The first time I read this book it blew me away by how good it was so when I got to revisit it for this review it was like a visit with an old friend Sheridan needs Elijah in so many ways, but Elijah needs her too. What they faced was horrible and savage. Full of passion and showcasing a wide range of emotions this was a splendid book. In this one, you will meet Elijah brothers too and their stories are below
TEMPTING BETHANY: This installment to the series was new to me. In the first book, you will meet Bethany an abused woman and mother. Joshua Kincaid wants her for a number of reasons and in the first book, you will get a clue about a twist involving Bethany and Joshua. Like the first book, this one is full of passion and showing the savageness of the west. Right from the start, you will know who this man is and what he will do. It was an excellent beginning. This was the only book of the three I had not had the pleasure to have read and it outstanding.
And now below is the review I did for Lawless
LAWLESS: NOAH KINCAID
Stacy Reid is one of my favorite historical western writers. Like the other books, I have read of hers this one is realistic and not in any way a sweet romance. There is a great deal of violence in the story with some very complex characters. Noah Kincaid is just what the title says he is lawless and hard as nails. Now, Ada is an artist who wants to be a writer and she has a strong and determined way about her. She may have been raised in the East but was in no way a powder puff. Their relationship was so honest and this story took hold of me and would not let go.
These books were so good high praise for each and every one. Believe me, picking up a series is not a bad idea!

What a collection! Three tough as nails brothers, who can kill without battng an eye, are ‘tamed’ by the women of their dreams. These stories are full of action, danger, heartache and forgiveness. Each character embarks on a volitile and emotional journey culminating in the mating of two hearts and lives. In all three stories, the women are refined and educated, and considered too frail for the wilds of the West. The brothers are inexplicably drawn to them, but love and marriage is not them...or so they believe. Fabulous stories that you are likely to read more than once!
Taming Elijah
Sheridan, a transplant from London, is hounded by a man who always gets what he wants, and if it is not given willingly, he takes it. She turns to Elijah with whom she had an amazing three week liasion before she ‘betrayed’ him. He is torn since she gets to him like no other has, but he is unwilling to let his guard down....but innocent lives are at stake. This is a fast moving story with lots of action, strong characters and emotional turmoil.
Tempting Bethany
Oh this is so good! Bethany was from Virginia, married a man who turned out to be a brute, and moved out west with him. Unable to tolerate her husband’s beatings, and fearing for her life, Bethany made plans to escape. That was the night she met Joshua Kincaid. What follows is a cat and mouse game involving secrets, danger, revenge, love and forgiveness.
Lawless Noah Kincaid
During a train robbery, Ada was shot and Noah manged to get her to a doctor. He escorted her home, forcing them to travel alone together for many days. However, trouble followed them. This is an amazing story full of action, emotion, heartached and forgiveness.

Three action-packed steamy western romances featuring the Kincaid brothers.

Taming Elijah
Sheridan needs help and protection when a cruel businessman threatens not only her ranch, but means to marry her for her wealth and land. She turns to a man she loves, and who loved her not long ago. Elijah Kincaid reluctantly agrees to help the woman he loved and thought betrayed him. Strong characters with a complicated past and a story filled with action, danger, regret, and forgiveness make this one not to miss,

Tempting Bethany
What kind of man sells his wife in his saloon? Bethany ran to her brother’s ranch in Wyoming hoping to escape him. She is not there alone, but has with her the son of her only “client” at her husband’s saloon, Joshua Kincaid. He now feels he must protect Beth and their baby. Can Joshua protect her from Abraham Hardin? How will handle her departure to Boston? The future and happiness of two stubborn people and their sweet baby are at stake. If and when it happens, this HEA will be hard won and well-traveled. Good read.

Lawless: Noah Kincaid
If Ada learns anything from her experience on the way to her father’s ranch, it’s to be careful what you wish for. She wanted to meet an outlaw and have an adventure. When her wish came more than true, Noah Kincaid, Known as Lawless, comes to her rescue. Now the gang is after both of them. How will they get out of this? Ada has fallen in love with Noah and is determined to marry him. Noah is not only known as Lawless, but leery. The attraction and passion is there, but turning it into happily ever after will not be easy. Mystery, danger, and great characters hold your attention beginning to end.

This series of 3 books are about the Kincaid brothers. They are western romances set in CO/WY around 1870.
Book 1 is about Elijah and Sheridan (my least favorite book) Elijah is struggling with the demons in his head and can't let the past go. Sheridan came from England but wants nothing to do with it and loves the wild west...and Elijah. She struggles to get him to see that they have a future.
Book 2 is about Joshua and Bethany (Beth) Joshua rescues Beth from an abusive husband and then she flees in to the night. Beth wants nothing to do with the west and wants to move back east. Once they meet again can Joshua show Beth the west is just as good as the east
Book 3 is about Noah and Ada (my favorite story) Noah has men after him. Ada is constantly doing things she really shouldn't be doing. Noah rescues Ada from bank robbers...or are they bank robbers??? Noah protects Ada until he can get her home. Can these two make love work when someone seems to be always trying to abduct or kill one of them. Ada is such a spunk, I love her.
For some reason I had a hard time getting through book one, after that I enjoyed book 2 and 3. I love Stacy Reid's books so I thought I'd give her western romances a try (normally I read her historical romances set in England). Just not a fan of them I guess and I struggled to get past book one, which is why its getting 4.5 stars instead of 5.

Too Upsetting

I have read this author’s Regency books, and I have enjoyed them. But I was not aware she wrote historical Western romance as well. I actually couldn't read the first book beyond the initial scene because it made me too upset. If you have issues reading about attempted rape, the threat of physical violence, and intimidation, you want to skip that book. Unfortunately, my feelings about this first book tainted the way I felt about the others. I feel like the author created a West that was far too harsh, made her heroines have to put up with too much...and she certainly should have warned about potential triggers. Also, these are novel-length stories, but the author still had info dumps here and there that could have been woven into the stories better. There is also some profanity in the books, which I never like to see in novels. If you don't have the same triggers I do and don't mind a somewhat warped, too lawless version of the American West, you might like this set of books better than I did. I think I will stick to her Regency!

TRIGGERS: threatened rape, physical violence

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

This was a great western bundle. It had intense stories with plenty of action, adventure and some mystery. I love westerns. The author was able to build the American West as if you were there. The characters actually had dimension to them. Some foul language if that bothers you and there was some violence towards the female character, attempted rape, so be warned. This was just the way the west was back then. Women were either treated with respect and placed on a pedestal or they were assaulted and treated like garbage. Don't fool yourself into believing the west was some romantic time. It's great reading.
