When I match with the sinfully gorgeous Alec on a dating app, I have no idea he’s a billionaire prince. Surprise!
I’m not looking to become a queen. But when our night at the bar turns into a getaway at his palace, our attraction sparks more powerful feelings than I expected.

Blurb: I wasn’t looking for a king. And now he wants me for his queen.
I’m here to party. That’s why I got on a dating app in the first place. For quick and dirty fun, not a high-speed escape from New York City.
I didn’t swipe right to meet a prince on the run.
But that’s exactly who I found in my favorite bar.
The thing is, he’s just so…hot. So soul-meltingly gorgeous. And I swore I’d never commit to anything, but what’s a spur-of-the-moment vacation to his royal palace?
It’s a transatlantic flight, not a ring on my finger.
While Jessica may have gone to a rich school it was only due to her scholarship that she was able to attend and make a good group of friends that she stays connected to after school. Jessica isn’t perfect she has issues, including an ex or two who are less than stellar in the boyfriend department but she’s grown from the experience and when she uses the dating app it’s for nothing more than a hookup.
Alex is on a much-needed break from the royal life arriving in New York determined to keep his true identity a secret he signs up on a dating site determined to have as many one nights as he can while taking a break. Neither one expected that their one steamy night would turn into more than just that. When they can’t move on it turns into another night out together and a blind date puts them together yet again. Things spiral out of control when Alec’s true identity comes into play and Jessica is forced to make a choice that could change her life forever.
I’ve had Dirty Royal on my kindle for over a year but never seemed to get around to it just yet. I’m a huge fan of a billionaire who finds love with your everyday girl it just works so well. Jessica and Alec have this sizzling chemistry right from the start that transitions into the bedroom but they also have that spark outside as well. I like that the author give just enough of the bedroom to tease us but not enough to overwhelm the story it’s a perfect balance. This is my first book by the author but as I’ve purchased a few I was super curious to check it out and it doesn’t disapoint it actually exceeds my expectation. I truly loved the authors writing style shes created a captivating story with great characters and a perfect happy ever after. I’m looking forward to exploring other books by the author highly recommend checking her books out.
I can't say that I loooved this book. It was nice, but not what I expected. I don't know ... Maybe a little bit more kinky :)) the intimate scenes between them are fast forward and usually I like to see more of their connection. Their chemistry. It felt lacking at some points. And at the end, I had that feeling that she forgave him too easy. All her plans and the things she wanted for herself in Seattle, gone just like that? In one minute? Just because he said sorry? And then again fast forward to the epilogue... But since I got it for free on Amazon, I can't say that I'm complaining. It was ok.
Dirty Royal is a sexy fairy tale about a beautiful American and a prince who fall happily in love until a family tragedy causes an upheaval in their lives that they might not be able to overcome. The characters have their flaws - Jessica seems a little flighty and Alec has a bit of a temper, but overall they are likable. The story is pretty straightforward and romantic. This is the third book I have read by Amelia Wilde and I find her writing to be easy flowing and involving. I enjoyed this book very much.
Jessica was spontaneous when things didn’t feel right she would up and move. After being in a relationship with Michael who was short tempered and fly off the handle in a drop of a hat. Jessica would not stay in a relationship after her experience with Michael. Jess set up a dating app and met a guy. Christian invited a guy he met at the gym. Jessica couldn’t believe her eyes. It was Alec who she met. She left with him. Alec was tired of his royal responsibilities. His father and brother were on his back. Alec decided to be spontaneous and ran to New York without them finding out.Nate his friend he has had forever is now a guard. He keeps tabs on him. The paparazzi found out and Nate told him it’s time to head back home. Alec spent the night with Jessica and she heard Nate call Alec your highness. Alec doesn’t want to be without her. He ask Jessica to come back with him. This is unlike something she has never seen before. Things are different. His father and brother are pressuring him to send her back to New York. He refuses to send her away. He hires an assistant Claire to help Jessica with everything. Things change when his brother Marcus dies and Alec will be crown Prince. This book is good. Making me want more. Can’t wait to read the next book,
This has a lot going for it. It's fast paced. The couple are distinct. The writing is clear and concise. It is very, very explicit, however. Which I fully admit I should have checked before downloading. In the end, it is too explicit for me. I don't particularly like or dislike sex scenes but the sheer number was exhausting. The sex overtook the relationship to the point of the couple remarking on things they talked about, which we, the readers, didn't get to read because that's not what the narrative cares about. It's a choice. It's what some people like but not me. It's gotten to the point that I don't feel it's worth trying to skip the sex scenes. At this rate they'll take up about a third of the book and that's not what I want from a book. I want to read books. I want to enjoy them. It's not worth it for me. I gave it two stars for its good qualities but I don't want to rate a book three stars that I don't enjoy.
I did like this story, but it was a bit unrealistic. I mean if you can name a kingdom anything, why would it be as cliche as Saintland? Also, a few rolls in the hey and only being told there was actually conversation, does not create a bond to the reader. Show me their bond and the conversations that were had. Then one week in and it is all I love you and I will do anything for your kingdom. No way!
What I can say is that the characters were so well written that it was almost easy to overlook the rest. I loved both Jessica and Alec and their friends as well. The only one who should have been more outlined and shown was Marcus and The King. I feel their story was lacking and made for a bit of a disconnect.
For a free contemporary romance ebook using the title trope of "(adjective describing or indicating a sexually attractive trait) (noun that is usually a desirable career but can also indicate rank or proximity)," Dirty Royal is more or less as advertised. A quick, sexy romp through the sheets with a mostly surface-level story woven between descriptions of the main protagonist's sexual encounters.
At least, the first half of the book was largely focused on the romantic escapades of New York commoner Jessica and royal prince of made-up-European-landia Alec as they "got to know each other." The second half was where I'd say 75 per cent of the actual story-telling wound up in order to develop an angsty romantic conflict in order to rationalize the story's happily ever after as well as it's love at first sight (or sex, I guess) premise that saw both characters declare their undying devotion in a matter of what amounted to weeks.
But people don't read books like this for its realism, story-telling or structure. So it would be extremely unfair to judge it on that basis. No more than one would compare a children's cartoon to an HBO live drama. They are not meant for the same audiences.
Was it fun? Yes, I'd say it was a fun enough read through once I let it be what it is. I admit I'm not used to the sheer amount of sexual encounters and descriptions that took place to start Dirty Royal especially, but that is more a consequence of not usually reading this particular brand of romance and prefering trashy historical fiction romances, which has a different beat and story requirement in order to introduce sex into the plot.
Did it suck me in? No, but this is not my preferred romantic genre. And admittedly, I prefer a more balanced story-telling approach building towards the romantic encounters and sexual tensions that Dirty Royal ultimately deprioritized and backloaded for reasons only known to the author.
The characters lacked a lot of depth, but worked well enough as self-inserts to sort of hand-wave away the issue as minor, especially given what the characters are actually supposed to represent to the readers effectually. Nothing about them stood out, but at least nothing about them and their extraordinary existence and lives ended up irritating me.
It does what it is intended to do and it is what it is. I didn't have trouble getting through it and I was entertained in general as to how the story evolved. There were some things I found a little jarring but I am brokering it more to personal preferences and inexperience than it necessarily being an issue in of itself.
It did its job, nothing more.
Not the most effusive endorsement of the story, but I am not really the audience for this.
So why did I read it? For the experience. And it was more something to break up the cadence of the other books I was reading next to it, all in mostly different genres, with different intents behind it. And to give my brain a break from things.
Ummm, what’s happening to this blurb. The one on the book mostly matches the story... but the one here in GR’s only technically matches the story. It’s a completely different feel with the aggressive asshole, f this AND that.
Anyway, not great either way. But hollow and heavy on cheese. Most of it happens in less than three weeks and there’s no real processing of anything, just moving right along.
3.5 stars! I enjoyed Alec and Jessica’s love story, even though it was a little instant lovey. I loved the whole royal aspect of the story, I would’ve enjoyed more of that. I loved Alec’s character more than Jessica because he was dealing with so much drama and still tried his best to love her. I feel like Jessica’s character needed more of a backbone. But when she put herself first, it was the best.
I downloaded this book because I love a royal romance. I did enjoy this as it was an easy read - however, I did find it a bit too unrealistic despite the genre. This is a insta love story full of fluff, I think I just wanted to be able to root for the characters a bit more!
There's nothing better than a modern fairy tale, is there? Sigh ... So romantic, so magical, so ... fabulous! I love Alec and Jessica's story with its twisty plot and suspense. I only wish I could keep reading a little longer ... sigh! It's definitely a page-turner and a great addition to this series!
Overall, this was just fine. It was a pretty typical billionaire storyline, but it did read quickly. The romance between Alec and Jessica was very insta-love. The royalty storyline did add an interesting element. Apparently, I have read book one in this series, and have no recollection of it. I foresee the same fate for this book in terms of remembering it.
A love at first sight royal romance. It’s a bit different royal romance story with the ‘spare heir’. If you like royal story’s and New York trust fund kids story’s and steamy sex scenes then this is for you.
Fight or flight. That is what I thought of when I finished this book. She gave her heart. And it wasn't enough. It was to him. But losing his brother. He thought he needed to be someone else. Now he has to fix her heart.. Happy reading.
The romance was a bit far fetched and to insta lust. After spending two nights together she upends her life and gets on a plane with a guy she barely knows. Whilst the plot was enjoyable it was to unbelievable for me.
Fun and sexy. One night can changes our heroines entire path. Wanderlust turns to love, and fitting in becomes figuring out how to be a part of something you have never imagined. This is a great love conquers all love story.
My first read of this author. I enjoyed it from the get go. I’m not a fan of the c*** word but other than that, language used didn’t bother me at all. I would read her books again.
Awesome read. Alex and Jessica had a connection from the first time dating. A chemistry they couldn't deny. Definitely a page turner. I couldn't put it down.
