Meg Walton, witch and donut maker in the little town of Enchanted Bay, is worried about her boyfriend, police detective Connor Smith, has lost his confidence.
And for a police detective, that could potentially be fatal. Hesitating at the wrong moment could get him killed.
Connor, until recently, was under a werewolf curse. He locked himself up in a cage in his basement during the full moon to avoid killing innocent people when he was in wolf form. Recently, Meg and other witches managed to lift the werewolf curse, and Connor is a normal man again. As grateful and happy as he is, he's worried that the loss of the wolf has cost him his confidence and effectiveness.
Meg wants to give him his confidence back. She's looking for a spell with minimal or no side effects that can give him a needed boost and get him back on track. Can she?
I'd never say these stories are great literature, but they're light and fun, and always a good bet when you need some distraction or a boost in mood. This one does the same. A visit to Enchanted Bay is a good addition to the day.
Recommended.
I received a free electronic galley of this story from the author.
Enchanted Bay may be a small town, but the number of murders is right up there with much larger cities. Meg just cannot let crimes go unsolved and being a witch definitely gives her an advantage over the usual amateur investigator. With her detective werewolf boyfriend, Connor, and her talking cat Penelope, Meg is prepared to solve all the murders that Enchanted Bay has to offer. If the case is proving difficult, there is always her donut shop for a place to sit and discuss the suspects and grab a little sugar boost. She really likes everything in town to go smooth, but maybe this time she really shouldn’t use her magic to meddle.
I really enjoy the Enchanted Bay books. There are good character interactions with some plot twists to add interest and chuckles along the way. My only complaint is that the endings always seem a little rushed even for a cozy. The stories flow along nicely but then wham, bam, case solved in one or two pages when I would like it to be a little less abbreviated. That being said, this is still a really enjoyable book that will make any cozy fan happy.
Meg's boyfriend Connor used to be a werewolf. During the full moon, he'd lock himself into a cage so as not to harm anyone. Oh, by the way, he's a police officer. She cast a spell to remove his ability to change and one of the unseen impacts is that he has lost his confidence in himself.
It's Halloween night and he is required to work. Meg decides to case a spell that will provide him the confidence he needs but without his knowledge she's done this. You need to read this to see all the things that occur this Halloween night for Connor.
This is so quick and so fun, it was over before I knew it! This novella features Meg, a witch on Halloween. She recently has noticed her boyfriend has lost his confidence and with the full moon approaching is concerned. Now the question is should she let him deal with his feelings on his own, or use a little magic to help things along? It's quirky and fun, a light listen that is pure entertainment. Stephanie Quinn brings it all to life with an enjoyable narration.
Thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns in this story and in the series as I watched Meg and Connor's relationship grow. Loved how they work their way through the obstacles they encounter. If you're looking for a lighthearted, fun read then you will definitely enjoy this book/series. Would recommend.
Hectic Halloween Hijinks (Witches of Enchanted Bay #12) was another great read by Amelia Morgan. It’s Halloween and Meg would like to just have fun, but unfortunately craziness seems to be afoot. Meg is a witch and doesn’t know if she has to step in with some of her magic. I cant wait to read more by Amelia Morgan.
My second read in the Enchanted Bay Cozy Mystery world. I enjoyed Meg's newest tale. She used her magic to help protect her fiance amid the crazy Halloween adventures. This was a quick story with some giggles and some gasps.
I received an ARC as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Focusing more on Connor due to his lack of confidence after he rid himself of his curse , Meg try's to help with a spell to keep him safe this Halloween night
Hectic Halloween Hijinks (Enchanted Bay Witch Cozy Mystery Book 12), my seventh short read/listen from author Amelia Morgan. Another well-written & enjoyable, a cute, clean cozy mystery. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Stephanie Quinn as I have in all books narrated by her, although this may be her best work to date. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author and since I own other books by her it will be easy. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
