Some of these techniques were very refreshing and applicable, some chapters were full of philosophy which I sadly didn't really understand on any deeper level. The approach overall with its emphasis on the wider context of client's functioning and therapist's *letting go* of trying to control or direct the client's progress is, I think, a very good perspective to keep in mind. Also there was a lot about the therapeutic relationship with client, trust, relating, overcoming differences, boundaries and safety that I found really useful.
