Lexi and the team are called in to investigate when a good-luck charm has been stolen from the Mob Museum in Las Vegas and the magical wards around the city are beginning to fail.
But when Lexi takes off alone after the thief there are disastrous consequences and she must accept that her life may have irrevocably changed.
It’s not long before old enemies appear and Lexi’s team must go undercover in a care home for elderly supernaturals to find a kidnap victim.

The Rising Legacy is the third book in the Legacy of the Shadow’s Blood series by E. G. Bateman and Michael Anderle.
Okay I was half kidding in my previous review when I talked about her getting an animal sidekick. But I so called that! Honestly, Limpet is the best. I adore that little face eating cat something fierce.
I’m curious about the story people keep mentioning, something about a sorcerer who snuck himself into the process that created the Legacies? And what it means for Lexi.
This book finally put Caleb Deane to rest, along with Azatoth. That brutal end (for both of them) was sweet, sweet justice. It was pure perfection. Nila was a definite surprise, though. She added a healthy dose of mystery and suspense to the story.
Having a bunch of geriatric supes become the majority of the cast was rather hilarious and entertaining. Anne is and will always be a badass. Albert is too cuckoo to contain. And I can’t help but adore Phyllis and Patrick. Our author duo cranked up the hilarity in this installment to astounding proportions. I spent most of the book giggling my head off, @ 2 am so my boyfriend is probably not happy with me right now.
I’m glad that Lexi was able to save her sister and Bryan, in the end. That they worked out what happy looked like for them. I wonder where Lexi’s hunt for their birth parents will lead. If she’ll find them dead at the end of the tunnel? Or a part of the problem? I think the latter is more likely, honestly.
Also, what the Council will do? To replace Caleb? If they’re involved in anything else remotely fishy? If there’s something to worry about in regards to the Fae Elders, and Delores’ suspicion that they were tracking her?
Lexi was a dud. She found a twin and got weaker. Then not weaker, but different. The old Lexi was becoming something new. New is not always good. Nor is it always bad. Sometimes old things just evolve into something new to discover what they will become. Now if Lexi can survive this evolution and keep her new found sister, long lost brother/brother-in-law, friends and a bunch of old people from dying.
I smiled the entire time I read this book. The stories just get better and better. The new people, some who come and some who stay, are so interesting. I am on my way to book 4 and hoping for more.
This is a very interesting look at a dark sorcerer and the friendly demon she has working with her against unfriendly demons and others who mean to harm anyone.
