One boy can end the war, but which side will get to him first?
Born of an illegitimate relationship, four-year-old Sebastian was never meant to have survived. The Other society regards mixed breeds as both an impossibility and an abomination. Worst of all, the enhanced strength and power of any such creations poses a danger to Humans, who would stop at nothing to annihilate the threat.
Yet, unbeknownst to his birth parents, from whom he was stolen and declared dead, Sebastian has not only survived under the care of those who have secretly been raising him, but thrived, showing signs of possessing unique gifts and abilities. He leads a happy, carefree life, ignorant of the power he yields or of the parents who still mourn him.
As danger looms and an inquisitive Sebastian finds himself in a precarious situation, Cade MacDonald, his father and alpha of the wolves, finds signs that his son might still be alive. Confronting Sebastian’s tiger mother, Gemma Davies, about what he has uncovered, he sows the seeds of doubt in her mind.
Could their child truly be out there somewhere, alive and well—and dealing with magic whose treacherous power he doesn’t fully grasp?
My name is Mason Sabre. I have been writing since I was a small child and discovered I could have a million adventures at the stroke of my pencil (I wasn't allowed to use pen back then). I have written more stories than I could even publish, some of them I wouldn't ever put out, but I have had a blast writing them. I love writing, I love reading. I love to have a fictional adventure. When I am not doing that I am with my children or studying. I have a lifelong love of learning too.
I live in the North of England. It's a little chilly here and a little wet, but it is what I call home and where pretty much all of my stories are based.
SEBASTIAN, Mason Sabre's next instalment in his epic Society Series saga, was everything and so much more. Knowing that this series is starting to reach its conclusion leaves me with a heavy heart, although Mr Sabre still had me sitting on the edge of my seat with the story of Sebastian, as four year old boy who holds many magical secrets.
Sebastian may only be a little boy, but his personality, his strength, his actions and thoughts, often has the reader forgetting this. He's trying to navigate a world that he has been hidden from, a world that is not accepting of his kind. The experiences Sebastian undergoes throughout this story endears him to the reader's heart. It's traumatic, yet vital to the storyline Mason has set up. Sebastian has a child's innocence, a view of the world that we, as adults, seemed to have forgotten.
Even though Mr Sabre has answered many questions, there are still so many secrets yet to be revealed. Sebastian's story will bring forth tears, anger and frustration. As usual Mason's writing wraps itself around the reader and has them believing that they, too, are a part of his magical world.
Brilliant, exceptional, mindblowing ... this is not a story to be missed. I cannot wait for the next instalment in this magnificent series.
I've really had to think about how to review this book, seeing as much of it is told from the perspective of a four-year-old boy, Sebastian. This perspective brings a unique quality to the series and something many readers may shy away from. I know I was hesitant to read it, despite being a fan of this series. After all, who wants to read the musings of a small child? Even if he is special?
Let me tell you Mason Sabre is brilliant at creating this character. While he may be young and naïve to the world, Sebastian engages you in such a way that you forget he's only small. He doesn't ask the reader to mollycoddle him, but rather to follow him on this journey to discovering what and who he is. Sabre masterfully utilizes all of the tools at his disposal to deliberately depict a child's understanding of the world around him without creating a children's story. Sebastian is a dynamic character, surrounded by familiar faces and venues, allowing a unique and wondered perspective to what we thought we knew as readers. In doing so, he also reveals answers to long-asked questions and creates a whole new layer of mystery.
This book has it all: action, adventure, mystery, romance, suspense, and so much more. You don't have to read the previous books to enjoy Sebastian, but it is strongly recommended you do so. The Society Series is a must-read for any fan of urban fantasy or paranormal romance.
Another sleep deprived night thanks to the unrelenting need to read this story in one sitting. I physically and mentally could not put this book down once I began reading. I have been a fan of Mason Sabre’s Society Series for some time and I genuinely enjoy all his books, but this one really made me feel visceral emotions. I almost felt as if Sebastian was my own child and I had to help him. My heart ached for Kathy and Jeff and how their world had been turned upside down within a matter of moments. I am always in awe at Mason’s writing style. He has made these characters feel like they are true friends. While I will be sad to see this series end, I cannot wait to find out to finally have all answers revealed in this incredible saga.
I liked this story very much. I read it as a standalone story. With everything I had to infer and having yet to read the first 18 books in the series, I recommend that you read them before reading Sebastian. I believe that you will understand and enjoy Sebastian much more. As I am able to afford those 18 books, I will buy and read them before rereading Sebastian. Recommended.
Kudos to Author Sabre for tugging on my heartstrings in more ways than one. 🤓
Wow what an incredible read.. the story will touch you beyond any before. Things are coming together and what is revealed in the end.. speechless but made me happy in a way because this fantastic series is reaching its end. I just know one thing.. I’ll definitely miss it.
Incredible!! I was completely blown away by this book! And the way it ended OMG!! Society fans this book is an absolute must for you!! Sebastian is a special little boy! Not only because of who his parents are, but what it seems fate has in store for him. I love how each book is a complete story, but gets you ready for the next book in the series! Absolutely love it!
The Society series is one of my all time favourites, but holy moly, this installment is epic!
Mr Sabre has weaved a story that will have your emotions all over the place. The fear and anger for what happens to Sebastian, had me at the edge of my seat and I couldn’t read the words quick enough! The characters feel so real and their feelings became my own.
Things are slotting into place with a few tantalising clues and teasers superbly placed as we speed towards the conclusion. I am now pining for the next book.
