I honestly don't even really know how to begin this review. I have SO many thoughts, so many feelings, and just SO much to say.....but I don't want to say too much.
Hypothetically by Dr. Rebecca Sharp is an absolutely PERFECT read. It may be short, but it carries everything that a regularly sized novel does. &I also love the fact that it can function as a standalone, but ALSO provides lovers of her Odyssey Duet, a look at the relationship that broke Troy.
&TBH, Once I realized that Damien is Troian's father, and that this is his and Lilith's story, I was a little apprehensive. I had set feelings for these two characters, because of Troy's story.
But, I am SO thankful that I pushed those feelings aside and gave the story the chance it deserves.
Rebecca can SERIOUSLY rock a forbidden/taboo romance. She could write in that trope 24/7, and I would NEVER get tired of reading her books, and I hope to see even more of this trope from her in the future.
Hypothetically focuses on the forbidden relationship between Lilith, and her dark, broody, stern faced, DIRTY TALKIN', Best Friend's Father, Damien Milanovic.
Damien is an accomplished chemist, and Lilith carries a similar interest, right along with her best friend Troian.
Lilith's want to look at her feelings for Damien as a sort of experiment. She says that she wants to learn what it is that is causing the attraction to her best friends father, but underneath it all....its obvious that she wants to do a lot more than just experimenting from a comfortable distance...she wants to be all up in Dr. Milanovic's personal space....and apparently he wants the same.
Needing an internship to finish up the school year and graduate, Lilith interns right along side Damien...and well. Things heat up, in MANY ways.
But, there is SO much more to these characters, the way they interact, the deep meaningful words they speak, their deeper feelings.
It is a moving read, and if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!
If you loved the Odyssey Duet, you NEED to read Lilith and Damien's story. &While I was unsure as to how I would feel about their story.....it was so much more than amazing, and made me see and better understand exactly what went down behind the scenes in the Odyssey Duet.
&It is so great to be back in that world again. I would LOVE a novella of Troy & Leo now, as parents and husband and wife. With Lilith & Damien in it as well.
But anyway, back to Hypothetically....GET IT. Get ALLLL up on this book. Even if you haven't read the Odyssey Duet, it works perfectly as a standalone. Just snatch it up, and enjoy the forbidden/taboo romance, with an unexpected broody alpha hero, with a mouth that will have your kindle on fire!
