Growing up as a shifter, you are always taught that finding your mate is an amazing thing. What happens though when your mate rejects you? When you don’t get that happily ever after you’ve always dreamed of? Will fate somehow bring your souls together or will you forever be alone?
Beth is a single mother of two, who has worked in a custom cabinet shop since she was young. She always has so many ideas flowing in her head, but never thought that writing was a reality until some other amazing authors pointed out that she could. She loves all things paranormal, and has a very unhealthy obsession with chocolate and doughnuts. She can usually be found chasing after her kids, typing like a mad woman or lost in a book.
I have a love hate relationship with anthologies because the short stories in them are difficult to do well. I did like the first story Bearly Rejected well enough. Hallow-versary was just a confusing mess for me. Turn About was an okay story. Their Forbidden Secret was one of the better stories in this book. My favorite one, and the reason it went from 2 to 3 stars was A Twisted Secret. It is also the reason I will be reading the part 2 anthology.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this anthology. I wasn't sure if it would be a whole bunch of sad stories but I loved them. A great group of authors. Here's what I thought about each story. Bearly rejected: Jewles Arthur I really enjoyed this short even with the cliffhanger...I love a good bear shifter. I can wait for the books to come Hallow-versary: Amanda cashure I have not read mating the mob but if it features the guys from this short...I'm all down. I want to see what else these Australian shifters are up to. Turn about: Miki ward This story definitely comes with a lesson. And kindness pays out big time The forbidden secret: Bella Claire Can't wait for the continuation of this book to come out. The hunt is on and I can't wait. A twisted secret: Alexis Taylor and Beth Hendrix Ok. I really need the continuation of this book. Because I have a theory and I need to see if it's true.
Can't wait until part two comes out to see what happens with these stories
Sadly, the only part of the book that had plot or character was chapter 1. Alana grew up with Justin, who was her fated mate. He met someone else. By the time Alana meets the other characters, the author is using cartoon character short-hand in lieu of writing a story. It’s insta-love with exactly zero plot or story.
The next book in the collection starts with a disclaimer about Australian idiomatic English, at which point I called it. There are better books.
While some of these stories are about rejected fated mates, others are finding seconded chances. Either way you will feel some separation anxiety with the cliffhangers in a few of stories!! ** nail biting ** They are so good those darn Clifford will have you shouting out "Curse you!!" because you want more of that sweet story. Man, BBB you get me everytime.
This book of anthologies was a hit and miss for me. A few of the stories were a 3 star read, and one of them was a one star, it was so confusing and didn’t make sense. However, 2 of the stories that nailed it out the park for me & would be 5 stars alone are Bearly Rejected by Jewels Arthur and A Twisted Secret by Alexis Taylor & Beth Hendrix! Don’t get me wrong...I love these anthologies and don’t expect them all to be favorites, but I give them all a chance.
I was so excited to read this series because I was really looking forward to a rejected meets series but all the stories I had to stop reading and was just terrible the 1st one I barely made it through and the rest I just I stopped it was I really hope they do better with part 2
1 Star = DNF. 2 Star = Finished. Didn’t really enjoy. 3 Star = Finished. Story was neither good nor bad. 3.5 Star = Finished. Story was good. Will probably pick up next in series if there is one. 4 Star = Finished. Enjoyed story & will definitely pick up next in the series! 5 Star = Bloody LOVED it! ❤️
All of these stories were poorly written. The characters were one dimensional, the writing styles were stilted and the was no world building or character development. I understand that they were short stories, but there needs to be some sort of actual storytelling involved.
I love to hate anthologies only because cliffhangers... ugh the dreaded cliffhangers! haha I did enjoy this book series, I wanted to know what happened in some and I have my ideas, but knowing these authors its not going to turn out like I thought!
The first and final stories in the anthology were good, everything else was terrible. In addition the first and final stories were incomplete. With additional parts in different books. All in all, not worth the read.
This one I wasn't quiet sure what to expect going into the short stories. But once again BBB has some amazing Author's and stories in this set. This was the first of any rejected mates books I've read. I absolutely can't wait to dig into the next set!
I really liked the first story the second was a rambling mess, the third was kind of boring then there was the childish fairy tale, the last story was too short but good.
I thoroughly enjoyed these short reads. Making me want to read more of the stories. These are all new authors to me and can't wait to read more by each of them.
This is a collection of stories but some are cliff hangers trying to drag you into the next addition. I liked a few of the stories but no resolution to the story made it not worth your time.
