I just love these little style books - They are a light read and I always get a few new ideas. This time, I got a few great Pinterest and Instagram accounts to follow as well as some ideas for style courses. I marked my pages and took some notes. I especially need these reminders as I spend so many days working from home in "comfy" clothes. I am actively looking at my shoes and accessories - I even put a scarf on yesterday. :)

This is the second book that I have read in this series. Again very easy to read. And again, you can pick and choose the order of the chapters you wish to read and in whatever order suits you. For those who wish to improve her personal style Chapter 2 is one of the most helpful. And most of the rest builds from there.

Great read to inspire us to be our best selves! We would all love a more stylish version of ourselves, and this book gives us tools and ideas how to achieve it! Plans can be as easy as taking inventory of what’s in our closet…to a more structured & methodical building of a capsule wardrobe. However even minimal changes can make a difference! Will be fun to put some of this great advice to work!

I won a copy of this book through Goodreads Giveaways and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a quick, light read and it’s full of tips. I think some folks would find it very helpful but it wasn’t what I was expecting. After the first two chapters, it mostly moves into territory that isn’t for me—it feels more like “fake it till you make it” type tropes and advice like “just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear makeup and accessories and great shoes AND make sure they’re all really great quality!” While that certainly works for some people, that is most definitely not my personal agile and the idea that I have to put on a face of makeup or a pair of leather flats to elevate my relaxation style sits badly with me. It feeds into those classic misogynistic ideas of how a woman *should* look and I’ve never liked those. The first two chapters give some good tips about how to find the type of style that really suits you as an individual and then build on that to create outfits. Those are worthwhile (to me) and the rest is shippable.

I received this as a Goodreads Giveaway on Kindle.

The book is well-written and has some good tips, but it was not what I was expecting. I was expecting more pictures of style ideas and visuals of how to style things in various ways. Maybe suggestions based on styles/genres, how to make celebrity styles your own, etc. Similarly, there are a few chapters that seemed more like "life advice" than fashion advice. Although she touched on important topics in these chapters, I just wasn't expecting to see them as I thought the book was only about fashion. The author mentions from the get-go that she's not an expert in any of the fields she discusses, so, to me, that discredits the book a little bit. I appreciate that she fully discloses this, but it would have been nice to have her include tips, ideas and direct quotes or short excerpts from experts to back up her ideas or to give a different perspective.
