An avid consumer of all things horror, Joyner enjoys reading books from the paranormal and occult subgenres and watching horror movies. Likenesses of the horror classics like Michael Meyers, Pennywise the clown, Jason Voorhees, and Chucky line the walls of her office along with more recent cinematic terrors such as Annabelle, Valak, and Kayako Saeki. Guarded by her cat, Phoenix, Joyner uses this creative sanctuary as a writing retreat and a home of operations for her other career as a freelance fiction editor.

Be looking for the launch of her new series in January 2022!
Deliciously creepy. A little confusing but never boring. I couldn't put it down and it definitely left me wanting more which any good prequel should do.
Hushed is the prequel for The Hushed Horror Series. It is a creepy story that begins with a horrible rape. Somehow that incident blends into an evil form that brings rot and stench with it as it takes revenge on those it despises.
This story has equal parts of evil, the unknown, and horror in it. I love a good horror story and I believe this series meets my standards in a very unusual way. I’ve been known to be the only one in the theater for horror films and I love it! I am anxious to continue this series and have my questions about this repulsive form answered! Was ok, I was kinda confused tho, maybe cos I gave a gap while reading it. Just glad that Lana got her revenge indirectly and pistol got what was coming to him.
I signed up for the author's newsletter, and got this for free. I went into it totally blind, not even reading the blurb. I was confused at times. It starts out 20 years earlier, and something evil happens, but I didn't get a clear picture as to how the evil attached to someone. Then, years later, something bad happens, and a creature appears seeking revenge. The story unravels bit by bit, giving us hints as to whats happening. It's what I would call a perfect prequel because it leaves you wanting more and curious as to the events in the next books
