Age is just a number… until they call you a cougar.
Kat Winston felt sure of where she was headed—living the single life and loving her fast-track career—until baby fever hit. Approaching forty, she can’t ignore it’s now or never for starting a family, even if it means doing it alone. One thing Kat knows she should ignore… the younger man the universe keeps putting in her path.
Michael Cruz isn’t where he wants to be personally or professionally, but he’s got time. Determined to prove he’s as capable as the next guy, he’s nailing things down to make the roofing company he inherited successful. Twenty-eight is old enough to be the boss. Now if he can only find a way to prove this to Kat…
It’s supposed to be a fling, not the start of something concrete. But feelings have a way of building on their own.
When expectations collide with reality, will Kat and Michael give up on love or are they strong enough to fix it?
Jessie Harper writes steamy, contemporary romance with a slightly Southern flavor.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, she has lived all over the world—from Europe to Asia. She currently resides in Utah with her three children and more rescue animals than she ever intended.
Jessie appreciates a nice glass of whiskey, homegrown tomatoes, and well-delivered sarcasm. She hopes to never have to “bless your heart.”
I absolutely adored this book! Jessie Harper is a new author for me and I will definitely be checking out more of her titles. I smiled so much while reading this book!
What I liked: -Michael and Kat are great characters. They both are fully fleshed out and experience growth throughout the story. Michael is sweet, charming and ambitious. He is a hero who isn't afraid of his emotions and who is driven to support and encourage those he cares about. Kat is witty, independent and determined. I loved both Kat and Michael from the first chapter on. -Dialogue. The dialogue between all the characters was natural and entertaining, but especially between Kat and Michael. I loved their flirty back and forth, both when dancing around their attraction and when giving into it. -Writing style. I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed this author's writing style. She pulls you into the story and doesn't let you go. The pacing is perfect. The words flow smoothly. The transitions from scene to scene are seamless. Just phenomenal! -Sexy times. The sex scenes are full of sexual tension and very hot. The anticipation of giving in plus the chemistry between Kat and Michael was done perfectly. -Age difference reversal. Most romances that incorporate an age difference feature a younger heroine with an older hero. I enjoyed reading about an older heroine with a younger hero, as these romances aren't as prevalent. And I appreciate the way it was done here. The conflict arises from Kat and Michael being at different points in their lives. Most romances I have read that feature an older heroine with a younger hero are packed full of doubts and insecurities on the heroine's part that she isn't "desirable" to the hero or that she is somehow physically lacking something the hero can get from younger women instead. I enjoyed Kat's confidence in this regard.
What I didn't like: -Some of the fertility scenes were a little triggering for me personally but that is not the fault of the book. If fertility is a sensitive subject for you, be aware that it is a focal point of this book. For me, the story was highly enjoyable and the fertility scenes were handled well.
Overall, I highly recommend this romance. It has fun moments, hot moments, tense moments, heartwarming moments, everything!

Fix It, Book 3 in Jessie Harper's Finally Falling series, is absolutely brilliant. Kat is pushing forty and has decided she wants a baby - and will do whatever it takes to have one, even do it on her own. Just as she makes this decision, she meets Michael, the owner of a roofing company - but who happens to be twenty-eight, twelve years younger than her. When Michael and Kat keep crossing paths, she gives into their mutual attraction, deciding a no-strings-attached fling is a nice distraction while she puts the wheels in motion to have a baby. But life is messy, and it doesn't take long for real feelings to develop. Michael is the quintessential book boyfriend, an alpha male who knows what he wants - even when the rest of the world assumes what he wants to be very different - and who won't let anything get in his way. And while Kat is so stubborn that at times it is incredibly frustrating, she is such a strong, female character and so utterly authentic that it is impossible not to relate to her. Together, these two are absolute magic with chemistry that is off the charts.
This is a love story but also a story about family - and how when love is in the mix, it doesn't matter how a family comes to be.

Kat Winston loved her single life and the way her fast-track career was moving. But when she found herself almost 40, she realizes the time is now if she intends to have a family. She is even willing to do it without a husband. She just needs to ignore the younger man who keeps getting in her way.
Michael Cruz isn’t exactly where he expected to be personally or professionally, but he has no need to worry. There is time enough to adjust for the future. He has inherited a roofing company and is trying to make it the best it can be. He is 28 and knows how to be the boss. Now he has to convince Kat of that as they start off with a fling. Will that really be enough? Or is the love that started to develop going to be enough to drive them toward a real relationship and a family together?
It is true that age is only a number. Kat is hung up on her age and afraid that Michael is too young. But he has all the qualities she could ever want in a man. If they give it a chance, they may find a HEA and a family waiting for them!
This is probably really a 3.5 ⭐ - the writing was excellent and Michael was an absolute darling, far far lovelier than he should have been given the circumstances. However, there were a couple of things which dragged it down for me.
Firstly, although baby fever was mentioned extremely briefly in the blurb I didn't realise the whole plot would revolve around the FMC wanting to get pregnant, at the expense of anyone else's feelings. This is mainly my issue with not being interested in this topic so I didn't mark it down for this, however I did find Kat's single-minded obsession unhealthy as it clearly damaged relationships for her, causing angst in her family as well as issues with the MMC.
Secondly, I just couldn't really see why Michael fell for Kat so hard. Clearly they both felt they had chemistry, but there didn't seem to be enough substance apart from that for him to be so devoted - we don't see much other development of their relationship and feelings.
Third, there's a moment where Kat's brother misinterprets something and goes and punches Michael so hard he breaks his nose. There's never any proper apology or really any addressing of this behaviour at all. Kat steps in and defends Michael explaining away the misunderstanding but Michael is still expected to sit down with everyone at family dinner the next day and put up with it now that he's considered 'family' by her parents. I really didn't appreciate this casual, unaddressed violence against an extremely caring and kind person.
Overall it's well written, entertaining and enjoyable, and for anyone who likes the 'trying for a baby'/'fertility issues' story line then this might be a really good for for you. I read this because I love the reverse age gap trope so I jumped in at #3 in the series (which was fine, it worked perfectly as a standalone) - I'll definitely be checking out other work by this author.
I love a reverse age gap more than anything. So when I randomly came across Fix It on Amazon last night I was excited for it and immediately downloaded and started reading. I LOVED this book.
Fix It was amazing story that hit everything I want in a reverse age gap....super hot younger man, a successful woman and lots of hot & dirty sex. But it also has the most important thing...substance. It was such a good storyline that hits your heartstrings a little bit and made you love Michael and Kat so much. If you are a fan of age gap/reverse age gap the this is a DEFINITE read for you and a book I would recommend to everyone. w I
I went way past my bedtime finishing up this book. I knew how the story was going to end or at least, thought I did. Sappy, corny and just a good little fun read. Twelve year reverse age gap but who cares?? It was fun to read. Had good characters. Reasonable storyline. I would recommend this book to my sisters.
This is a very sweet book. Sometimes in older women younger men romances the age gap isn't much more than an initial obstacle. In this story it practically has it's own zip code. The author handles it deftly and of course we get our HEA.
It totally bugs me that it's considered a reverse age gap when the woman is older... Like the alternative is the norm. But, here we are. And this story makes it seem like it should be the norm. A nice take of a fairy tale guy. Just like I like it
Loved the MMC, who was the more mature, stable and emphatic half of this couple. The FMC was single-minded to the point of selfishness with no communication skills whatsoever. She was already grating and tiresome by the mid-point of the story.
Kat and Michael's romance hit all the high notes for me. Tender, sexy and fun. Loved the dialogue between them and the secondary characters were awesome as well.
Kat is an older woman who has been focused on her career. She gets hit with baby fever. Michael inherited the roofing company and is working hard to make it a successful business. He has drive and determination. He feels that his age 28, he could be a good boss. Now he just needs to convince Kat to take a chance on love with a younger guy. If Kat is willing to step out of her comfort zone, then she may get her own HEA.

This book 3 in Finally Falling Book Series is a amazingly well-written story that had interesting characters. These well-crafted characters are likable and realistic and have amazing chemistry. This is an interesting, action packed, intense and romantic romance story and a Reverse Age Gap. A must read standalone story in a series of books

I enjoyed the writing in this book very much. I like the family and friends feeling. I love the banter and the beginning and the wit and the humor. I love Mike and his attitude and his ability to stick with it. While I admire Kat and her push to get what she wants, I did get lost a bit in her selfishness. There is a one sided feeling to their interactions at times.

This was such a cute story! Michael is almost like the perfect man - caring, devoted and so sweet! I totally understand why Kat was hesitant but so glad that they slayed the demons so that they can reach their HEA. This was a very enjoyable read!
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a fair and honest review.
A entertaining read of a older woman and the younger man that must prove that they fit together. The story flows well, the characters are engaging and fit well together. Their chemistry is sizzling. What happens when this becomes real? This is the third book in this series. I will be looking for more to read. A great read.
Heartwarming and Heart wrenching From the awkwardness meet-cute I’ve ever read, to the most heartwarming epilogue, this book brings all the feels. With two big families, lots of drama, meddling and funny dynamics, the feel of this book is very reminiscent of BJ Harvey’s Cook Brothers Series. Kay and Michael are delightful together, and I can’t wait to explore more of Ms. Harper’s books.
An age-gap romance with a lot of miscommunication, assumption, hot chemistry, and an unnecessary separation period. When expectations collide with reality, will Kat and Michael give up on love or are they strong enough to fix it?

Another excellent addition to this series, maybe even my favorite of the three! Jessie Harper writes characters that are witty, charming, and easy to identify with. Her stories make me laugh out loud, and sometimes tear up a bit. She's a natural storyteller, and if this is your type of story, you don't want to miss this book!
I had a great time reading this storyline it’s well developed and flows smoothly. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages between them making this read a keeper.
