I constantly feel like someone’s watching me, and between this paranoia and the panic attacks, my new life has not been easy. It’s a constant battle to hold onto my fragile new self-control.
Enter three vastly different, equally stubborn men to complicate my life, each one evoking feelings I thought I’d know. Who are they and why am I drawn to them? I want to move on from my past, but I’m scared to let them in.
If I could just find the time to sit down and figure it out, perhaps I could solve this riddle, but an old threat has found me, and my time is running out...who do I turn to for protection?

I made it to 63%. It just couldn’t hold my attention anymore. The writing is ok and the plot it good. It’s just some of the stuff is so obvious and the mfc seems dull if she’s not picking up on All these signs. Idk.
Annika is a nurse and a survivor. She was abused during two years by her ex-boyfriend. Since it, she lived with her friend Valerie who helped her dealing with her panic attacks, anxiety, and nightmares. Annika got to know three mysterious hot guys. Of course, one of the is a jerk but luckily the two others are sweetheart and were immediately attracted by her (it's reciprocal😉). But Annika isn't a simple human and she discovered it the hard way... After reading this book, I was a bit taken aback by how many panic attacks did Annika. I mean, everytime something was upsetting her, BAM! Panic attack! At the beginning it was realistic considering her past but at the end it's a bit too much🙄 Let's say that Annika is, for the moment, a kind of anti hero: no badassery here, just a defenseless victim but she still was brave and I'm sure she will take confidence in her. I liked how Annika dealt with Luka and his assh*ol behaviour. Just let him go girl! You don't need him! The storyline flowed nicely and the multiple POV added a lot to the book. The world buidling isn't very developped: the story took place between Annika's flat, the hospital, and the guy's flat. Mild cliffhanger at the end.
Not a bad story but definitely could use some editing to polish the writing. There are a few instances where things only a couple pages before are repeated in a similar way. That got kind of annoying. Also the telling vs showing was somewhat annoying as well. However I was interested in Annika’s story.
The other issue I had with the book was that most of it was spent getting to know Annika and her potential mates, but this is supposed to be a paranormal book and everything basically led up to the end but didn’t have enough tension or action for me to be satisfied with where it ended. Where it ended is truly like the climax of the story, and should have continued. I’m over cliffhangers and prefer when authors tie up loose ends in the minor sub plot and then still have the over arcing plot for the series. That would have been nice.
The reaction of Annika after seeing her patient killed in front of her was a bit less than it should have been. She has nightmares but about her ex, she doesn’t have much freak out over seeing this happen or the shooting at the hospital. I’d like more to have been done with Annika’s reactions.
On top of this Annika noticed her bff Val’s odd behavior but never once speaks up and confronts her about it. I really dislike when characters are that obtuse. She brushes it off like respect, but there’s a certain amount of time someone can speak riddles in front of me before I ask them wtf they mean.
I’m still interested to see where this goes though.
This book gave me all the feels! Annika's constant struggle with self worth and panic attacks are something that a lot people struggle with on a daily basis. As someone who struggles with self worth, this was amazing to read! Not only do you get a deep inside look into the mind of someone who's been mentally and emotionally abused, but you also get to see from the outsider point of view.
Annika second guesses everything that comes her way but she doesn't need to and when the right people enter her life and accept her, flaws and all, it flips the script for her. She struggles to accept their acceptance of her, she doesn't believe she deserves such love and kindness but she does! They help her begin to see that as puzzle pieces of her life fall into place. Pieces that she had no idea existed.
I never wanted to put this book down! I dreamt about it, I devoured it and then grieved when it was over! I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment of this series!
I really loved Jasper and Cyrus - they were awesome. I feel like a Kingsley is really going to need to do some groveling. I liked Annie, and I thought her anxiety was handled in a realistic way. I did feel it started a little slow, and I was kind of annoyed with everyone keeping secrets - especially since they were doing it so badly, like every time they they were overheard 🙄But by the end I was invested in Annie/Annika’s stoey and I’m glad book 2 is already out :)
I thought I would like Annie’s story more but it felt surface level and mechanical to me. I didn’t really connect with the characters and even actually liked them much either. I’m left a bit disappointed as the blurb sounded so promising. Not sure I’ll keep going with the series.
I legitimately loved this book, way more than I thought I would and for a debut novel it's super impressive. I will definitely be recommending this book.
Before I begin my review for Misfit Princess (Misfits of the Fae Realm book one) by Daria Binx, I would personally like to thank the author, the publishers and Booksprout for the opportunity to read this ARC and I have reviewed it honestly.

After escaping a mentally abusive and gaslighting boyfriend, Annika finds herself plagued by extreme anxiety and overpowering anxiety attacks. Enter a world of demons, fae and undeniable bonds as Annika finds herself feeling a strong emotional pull towards not one but three handsome strangers.
Misfit Princess features, but is not limited to, the following themes: ○ NA fantasy ○ Paranormal romance ○ Reverse harem ○ Anxiety ○ Anxiety attacks ○ Soulmates/mates
My overall rating for Misfit Princess is…
4.5 Stars!
If I'm honest, it took me a little bit to get used to Annika and her anxiety, but as more of her history is exposed and more anxiety plagues her I felt myself connecting with and understanding her on a deeper level. I became emotionally invested in this utterly unique paranormal tale. Binx uses words as weapons and creates an unpredictable story with dark themes, rustic romances and an easy to read writing style.
DNF because oh man... 😬😬 I think everything after the sample pages are cringy. As in every other sentence I cringe and think nooo. Just writing this I'm remembering the words and cringing. Which sucks because I really liked the storyline. I just can't get passed the writing. Its as if it was written for an English class or something and they didn't attend the lesson for realistic writing. I'm not sure of the right words for the writing, but when you use can not and others like that instead of can't, don't, those types of things and its not because the people are proper that's just how they all freaking talk! Its a no for me. Then everything is just twisty. I understand the low ratings now and should have listened. Shoot I had even seen I'd previously tried to read this and stopped but I hadn't left any comments or reviews so I didn't know why I did. I regret that now too. I hate leaving bad reviews but since I read so darn much and reread things that it helps for me to be able to see my own words when I look the book up on Goodreads. Lesson learned .
Worst 7% of a book I have ever read. A patient literally is in front of her dying and she thinking the doctor is hot. Has the author never met a hot guy before? FMC literally learned his name and had a vision of them having sex after.
That’s like so gross. She didn’t even know him. Also she was listening to the radio about people who died and the next second she’s signing and dancing to music. Literally the next line. And then two lines later she’s exhausted from work and can’t hardly open her door to her house. Like make up your mind. Are you dancing or tired???
This MUST be the authors first book. The writing was juvenile and jumped around way too much. Do NOT recommend.
Umm. I just did not like this book. It was really fast and chaotic. I know the FMC went through some bad stuff in her last but the way she bounced from being confident to panic attacks all the time was exhausting. And how one her soulmates was trying to deny her and refuse was stupid. She is your soulmate buddy! Like hello? Are you an idiot!? Just not the book for me. I won’t be going on to book 2.
There’s a frustrating lack of contractions throughout the writing, including the dialogue, which -coupled with at times awkward sentence structure- makes the reading feel really stilted and choppy at times. The characters don’t have much depth to them other than Good Looks and I’m well beyond the first five chapters. There’s nothing compelling about the writing or characters for me. It’s a DNF.
This book has a lot of potential but didn't quite hit the mark for me. I get wanting to keep the story mysterious but without world building or any back story on any of the characters it makes it hard to connect with them. Any background given is vague. Unfortunately this is not a series I find myself continuing.
This book wasn't bad per se, but it wasn't really good either. It just felt kind of shallow. At the end I was left with no real sense of who the characters are or their connections, beyond being fated soulmates. It was all just very...flat.
Very hard to read. I got about 30% in and just couldn't push myself any further. It has potential to be an amazing book but its way to slow, to much internal dialog and a little confusing at times.
For a first book I've seen worse. Things I didn't like: The author clearly struggles with what she wants her characters to do. One moment there is the horror of death and bad news and the next its dance party. Then she is dancing and bouncing all over the place and suddenly she can barely drive she is so tired. One of her soul mates wants to refuse the connection. Why? There was never a really good reason as to why. He claims to not be relationship material but its kind of a lame excuse. You don't really ever see it. Its obviously just there because that's the cool thing to do (have one guy not into the whole thing) The fmc has weird moments where she acts out of character and snaps at the other characters out of the blue. It doesn't really fit the character and feels off. Not just that but if someone were to do that to me irl that is a huge red flag and I'd be nope-ing away from her. The whole lets give my powers to Annika thing because you will need them and are my long lost sister is very lame and out in left field. Whole thing happened very suddenly and I was kind of disappointed that the fmc is now like every other heroine in this genre and gifted with some crazy powers.
What I did like Finally a fmc who isn't rude and mean because its the cool thing to do Yay a fmc who has faults A tiny bit of character building for the guys. Not a lot, but enough that for some it hooks me. All in all...not a bad book. Not a great book either but somewhere in the middle. Im gonna give the next another go
Okay, so I this book is written as an easy read. It's easy to understand and it's sweet and cute.
If I were to compare the writing style, I'd say young adult. I like books like this sometimes because I don't have to think so much and can just enjoy a sweet story.
It is a little cheesy but I needed a book to just get lost in after a horrific few months.
We have Annika, who lives with her friend Val. She's come out of a verbally abusive relationship and her self esteem is very low. She works at a hospital as a nurse and meets a stunning new doctor, Luka Kingsley. She has some major instant chemistry. After her shift, her friend Val starts saying some questionable things and we don't really have a lot of clues to go on to figure out what might be happening. But Val suggests they go out. It's then that she meets a man named Cyrus and has the same electrical chemistry as Luka. We then find out that both of these men live with Jasper, a morgue worker at the same hospital. Things start to unfold of a destiny that is to be played out. We are along for the ride as information is fed as the story goes along.
I hope the series continues in this same aspect because it was just an enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed book one of what appears to be an intriguing series. In a market that feels overrun with outright bully and darker romances this was a refreshing read.
The guys are protective and upfront; decent fellows, for the most part. Again, a refreshing change from the a-holes found in most books. I liked that Annie is an openly vulnerable character: it made her relatable. She is the quintessential damsel in distress. Val lends an air of mystique while still remaining supportive. On the other hand, Stacia character felt one dimensional and fell flat for as big of a roll she played in the plotline. I wish her character had been introduced sooner. With the way things unfolded and the cliffhanger at the end I definitely want the next book.
It's too soon for me to say whether or not I would recommend as I don't judge a series until it's further along, this is one I fully anticipate continuing.
How is she allowed to be an ER nurse when her panic attacks are so extreme? I'm not faulting her for having them, she had a really rough relationship (I guess...it really wasn't explained thoroughly), but I'm honestly worried about her patients. She has a best friend who has lied to her pretty much her entire life and is still keeping secrets even though she knows it will get her hurt. Oh and what kind of father sends his daughter out on a mission he knows will get her killed? Even if it is for another daughter. So you just decided which daughter gets to live? The powers didn't even help Annie during the attack...so what was the point?
Things I thought funny/awesome: I enjoyed the nicknames for the guys. They made me smile. A vampire mortician.

This book was very cute and I feel it has a lot of potential to be great. Annika is a sweet but scared woman, trying to heal after an abusive relationship and find her inner strength when she meets her three soulmates. Of course, she’s oblivious to the supernatural world and her own origins, so she doesn’t know Luka, Cyrus, and Jasper are her soulmates. I really like the characters and the potential of where the story could go, but for some reason this book kept losing my interest and it took me a while to read despite wanted to love it so much. The writing felt cliché/immature at times. It may definitely be the series for you, I just struggled to really be captivated by it.
Spoiler alert! This storyline has so much potential. But it was all over the place at times and everything happened to quickly. Annika the FMC has panic attacks because of her abusive ex, they seem to start with really realistic but further on they happen all the time, so it ends up feeling not so realistic. Three guys appear in her in her life and turn out to be her soul mates however she doesn't know this but the guys and her bestie do. She thinks she's human. Even though their were so many clues that something was going on she didn't even question anything which was annoying. Loved Cyrus and Jasper they were protective and loving! Hoping book two will be better
This was a good debut. There were interesting characters and an intriguing plot.
My favorite character was Jasper. He was fun yet protective and caring. I liked Annika also though she mildly annoyed me at times. Luka massively annoyed me but I suspect with time I will like him. I am looking forward to backstories on Val and the guys which I will most likely come out in future books (I hope!).
Throughout most of the book, I was trying to put the puzzle pieces together to understand what was happening and where the author was taking me. It worked for me and I enjoyed that aspect.
This book is a fun easy read and my first from this author because she is so new! It is a good story with a lot of past trauma for the main female lead...be prepared for a nurse with verbal abuse background and her journey to overcome it. I do not want to spoil anything, but the book is predictable but enjoyable. The 3 main guys are amazing and have special powers to help her overcome what adventure awaits. I cannot wait to read the second book. It is a slow burn but I have a feeling it is heading towards medium with all the chemistry in the first book. This is a good book to read if you need just a good emotional book with some spice.
I really enjoyed this book. I read it in a day and a half. Annie is a nurse working on a hospital. She lives with her best friend. There’s a new doctor Kingsley who works with Annie. They have an instant connection. Then she goes out and meets Cyrus who she also connects with. Something happens while at work. Then she meets Jasper who she also connects with. Annie has some stuff she is working through. Weird things kept happening to her. Something is going to happen but will the guys be there in time to save her. Read the book to find out. Will Annie and the guys get together? Will they save her in time?
I am a newbie by this author and I was just browsing when I stumbled upon this book!! I read the blurb and seen this was this authors first book thought why not it sounds pretty good! I mean a damaged MC, slow-burn paranormal RH!! Heck yes!
I am so glad a gave this book a shot! The MC is healing from a mentally abusive relationship when she meets her sole mates. This book has amazing chemistry between characters, a great storyline, multiple POV’s and is extremely well written!! But that ending is quite the cliffy!! I can’t wait for book 2!
Let me just say as a debut novel this was a good one! Things were a little confusing in the beginning as I didn’t understand what was going on and things were moving fast. The instalove soulmates was a little hard for me too. I kept reading and as it became clear this was Fae, it all made sense to me, even the soulmates. I got more and more intrigued as it went. The guys each with different personalities and the way they react to Annie. The dreams Annie has. I’m pretty intrigued to see what happens for this group of 4 after finding out who she is!
I really enjoy reading books that are not full of spelling errors and or missing words. The plot is the typical reverse harem books. I had my fill of the romance books of my childhood and at first this reverse harem theme was refreshing. Now though, they're just as repetitive as the first ones to were.
That doesn't mean it wasn't a well written book. The author did a great job of capturing and keeping my interest. For those that still enjoy this type of book, I highly recommend it.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This story is about Annika who is a broken woman that is trying to get her life together. She is helped by each of these men in their own way. I thought the storyline was very well written. The characters had a connection that was sweet yet steamy. I cannot wait to get the next book in the series.
