Please join me for some true tales of unexplained mysteries of the most cryptic kind. Is there a Time Machine in Brompton Cemetery? What was ‘The Beast of Mons? Who was Ingrid Cold? Who or what was ‘Subject C?’ What was the real secret between Queen Victoria and John Brown? Who was the Vampire of Highgate Cemetery? The Mystery at Arthur’s Seat, The Doppelganger of Percy Shelley, plus many more mysterious true tales...Mysteries which yearn to be solved. Some of these tales can also be heard on my podcast on Tales of Mystery Unexplained, and on Steph Young Podcast. Who doesn’t love cryptic and beguiling mysteries?Creepy Unexplained Mysteries
All of the mysteries were very readable some were longer than necessary and tended to become repetitious. They were repetitious factually and didn't detract from readability. I plan to read all of Steph's books I can buy.
This volume contains many tales that are interesting, if not well-written, covering unexplained events through the ages. Some will leave you shaking your head while others will leave you shaking.
Unexplained does not mean that there IS no explanation, only that it has not been discovered. The researcher and reader must rely on the information that is discoverable, and that is often insufficient to provide an explanation.
We know that Jack the Ripper existed. However, the surviving information does not supply his identity. Unless more information is discovered to this end, his identity will always remain an unexplained mystery.
There were a few words that needed correction. But all and all well written and researched. Interesting stories old and new. I especially liked the very old tales and the interests of Queen Victoria after the death of Albert. Her withdrawal from public life served her well in pursuing her friendships and pursuits.
I really enjoyed reading this book about strange events. Some items I've heard of before now. Even the stories that I had known previously had some new insights and details.
It’s been a while since I read a Steph Young book, so I was in the mood for more delectable mysteries. As always, her work suffers from an embarrassing lack of editing. Typos abound; paragraphs can take up entire pages; words are missing; Young rambles on at times.
And yet, the content is just so good I happily overlook it. If you want the most fascinating stories on Earth, Steph Young has you covered.
I wound up skimming this book, looking for a story that would capture my attention, but alas! nothing grabbed me. The writing style was good, otherwise.
🗑 Meh. I am sure other readers will be captivated and read this book, cover to cover.
