Ghostly Wedding

Rate this book
Harper Harlow and Jared Monroe fell in love fast and hard. Finally, their big day is here.

They just need to solve a murder before they exchange their vows and take the next step to happily ever after.

Peter Humphrey, an insurance salesman from a neighboring town, appeared to be minding his own business when a woman came out of nowhere and struck him down while he was crossing the street. Harper witnessed the accident and vows to solve the murder before it’s time to leave on her honeymoon.

It might take more work than she realizes, though.

Peter was a normal guy, a father who doted on his daughter and was friendly with his ex-wife, and yet somehow he had a secret. His ghost points Harper toward Montgomery Manor, toward a woman who suffered her own tragedy almost two decades before.

On paper, Peter’s murder and the Montgomery tragedy shouldn’t be connected … and yet they are. It’s up to Jared and Harper to figure out how if they want to enjoy their wedding and what comes after … and they’re both determined to do it.
Some things are meant to be. Harper and Jared believe their union is one of those things.

Prepare yourselves, because this is one wedding you’ll never forget.

Ghostly Wedding is Book 17 in the Harper Harlow Series.
Jared and Harper are finally getting married!
This is a long running series that I absolutely loved . I loved reading about the evolution
of Harper and Jared's relationship.
Before the wedding, there are two mysteries that Harper is helping to solve, before she says I do.

Of course Zander and Shawn are there .

The characters are fantastic and they mysteries are intertwined in a flawless way.

Love this series.

Entertaining Paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. If I can cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Harper Harlow is a young woman who can see and speak to ghosts in the real world as well as on occasion in her dreams. It’s only a few more days until her and her fiancé Jared get married. Something Happens and a new case is created that involves Jared and his partner and also drags Harper and her best friend Xander into it. Read on and see what adventure harbor in the game can get into you before her wedding actually happens. Check it out

Ugh

It was okay - not good but not horrible. It was the same old, same old. A current mystery (that wasn't very mysterious) mixed in with yet another missing person from that area. I grew up in a small town & in my whole county in all my years of living & I'm in my mid 40s there has only been less than has happened in her area in her less 30 years of living & other than Quinn - they were all young woman who disappeared but that doesn't seem odd to anyone?! Anyway, it was very predicable. The thing that bothered me the most & almost made throw my kindle across the room was the fact that Jared said he had 6 weeks vacation time accrued not including the 2 weeks for the honeymoon. He's already take more time than someone with barely a year at that police department should have & 3 weeks of it was right after he started. I mentioned this before but how does someone who without counting the smaller trips has taken a month off in his first year of work in Whisper Cove already have accumulated 8 more weeks. So I reached out to different police officers that in know in various areas in the US & they laughed at me when I asked if it was feasible to have that much vacation time when he's also had off most nights & weekends - there are so cases where they earn time off cause they worked & are salary but that's usually when they are pulling in tons of OT (& most police contracts allow OT) so unless Jared worked late all the time - which he doesnt cause he's home with Harper every night & most weekends. How much time does Mel have accrued if rookie Jared gets so much time off?! We won't ever know cause apparently only Jared gets to go wherever whenever he wants. I beat this dead bush before but it really irked me. If these books were more spaced out - like not taking place days or weeks after the last one I might have been iffy but could deal with it. It's just stupid & an uncreative way to make it so Jared can go wherever he wants to suit Harper. Lastly, the editing it brutal. How do you miss so many errors?! And big ones like using the wrong name when talking to someone?! I noticed it throughout the series but this time I'm calling it out. Cami is the daughter. Denise is the mother yet when filling Cami about what Denise dead - Cami's name name is used instead. Does no one read these books before they are our published that pay attention to that stuff?! The wedding was nice. Weird cause there didn't seem to be a bridal shower, bachelorette or bachelor party (even though Zander talked about throwing one in a previous book), & no rehearsal dinner. Her parents weren't even around before the wedding. As a matter of fact, there was no mention of Jared's family being there. He spent the night before with Shaun but not the other groomsman that came across the state to be there for him & didn't even see his mother or sister before the wedding. Like, did they not come early & risk travel delays flying in on the day of the wedding?! I know solving the mystery was "so important" but they just did what they always do & ignored everyone else that should have been in town to celebrate their wedding. It would have been better if they tried to juggle family things mixed in with solving these 2 mysteries. Like Harper being later for the rehearsal was she was running around with Zander at Montgomery Manor or forgetting about her bridal shower that her mother who just the last book was trying to force a big todo for the wedding (that was conveniently dropped) had for her but no - weeks before her wedding she was off camping & her mom wanted to change her wedding venue - weeks before mind you. In the beginning of the book Harper was so stressed about wedding details & all the things she had to do but she did none of them except pick up her dress. If it doesn't work with whatever current story the writer wants to tell she disregards it. Not that I enjoy her mother or even Zander cause they are pretty unlikable but her mom was non-existent until the wedding ceremony itself. It didn't even sound like she was there when Harper was getting ready. Why gloss over the details?! You stru g people on for all these books & a little over of year (although Jared says not quite 2 years in this book but it was spring when they met & it's only the following summer & he had just moved there when they met ) & then skip most of wedding except the actual ceremony. If you want people to care about your characters give them more than a couple pages of the ceremony which was just them saying to each other the same stuff they say to each all the time. It wasn't original. Anyway, I guess we'll see if the time off before the next one in the series lightens my immense dislike in the series as it current stands.

So much emotion!

This book in the series was very emotional and very much a tearjerker. It is a few days before the long awaited wedding of Jared and Harper.
Harper has a few last minutes things to do before the wedding. The main thing is to try on her wedding dress to make sure it is fine and ready for the big day.
During her fitting, she spots a red car speedily driving past the shop . Suddenly they hear a scream and find a man in his early 40s has been run over and been killed.
The accident is declared a murder and thus an investigation begins.
A connection is made with a manor nearby.
Harper discovers the lady's pregnant daughter has been missing for the past 17 years. She and her child has never been found. Are these 2 mysteries connected and if so?
Will these mysteries be solved before their wedding day?
It was a fantastic book. I would say it is the best ever book so far. It was really emotional and I literally couldn't put it down. Even though it was very late at night I had to read til the end. The battery in my Amazon fire died just before I finished. I could have cried.
The book was written beautifully.
I guessed part of the mystery and it was so sad.
Loved it. Fabulous read.

Happy Ever After.. bittersweet

As the wedding of Harper and Jared nears Zander refuses to take on any new cases at GHI to ensure that Harper doesn't end up injured before her big day but, as it always seems to, fate decides to intervene in Zander's plans.

While going for her final dress fitting Harper and Zander witness a fatal hit and run; the victim has no id and no one seems to recognise him. Jared and Mel are struggling to discover who he is until his ghost speaks to Harper in a dream. All he can recall is his name, Peter Humphrey, and a place "Montgomery Manor, it's important" but he doesn't recall why.

Montgomery Manor is the home of Lila Montgomery several years previously her heavily pregnant daughter Penny vanished without any trace. Lila doesn't know Peter and is still grieving over Penny's disappearance living a sad and mostly solitary life.

No matter Zander's ideas about avoiding trouble Harper is sure that somehow Peter can solve the mystery of Penny's disappearance and she's not got long to solve it before Jared whisks her away on a surprise honeymoon.

The lead up to a wonderful wedding was a wonderful mystery and Harper was right in the thick of things.
Harper and Jared have been destined from the moment they met, they really are perfectly suited to each other and I seriously loved them as a couple, they just come across so genuine and real, and sweet. I also love Zander and Shawn and these four together just make this series funny, and enjoyable.
This book was always going to be a winner for me because the wedding would happen at the end and Lily Harper hart did not disappoint at all.
The mystery was intriguing, one last murder to solve before marriage, one last ghost or two to help before the big day and one more time to try and stay out of trouble before tying the knot.
Harper saw the hit and run... she had no idea the mystery this would unravel and it was full of twists and turns to keep readers guessing.
I really enjoyed everything about this story and especially the ending.

Once again Harper and Zander are in the thick of a murder mystery, with Harper looking for a ghost to help solve a mystery. It’s the run up to Harper and Jared's wedding and of course it wasn’t going to be spas and relaxation for Harper and a nice chilled week for Jared!
Harper and Zander are at the wedding dress shop when they hear a loud revving of a car engine, they look out of the window and see a red car speeding by a loud scream and of course off Harper runs and where she goes Zander follows.
In the aftermath Harper has to follow through, she can’t just leave it to Jared and Mel to solve. Of course it helps when a ghost can help a bit.
A twist I didn’t see coming, a great book, never gets old, I love all of the series’s where you get to know the characters and understand their motivations you begin to feel invested in their lives, that’s where a great author can take you.

At long last, Harper and Jared get their big day. Of course, there's a mystery to solve beforehand and wouldn't you know, they solve it in time to enjoy their wedding. Yeah, this is a cheesy series, but I love it. It's a nice little escape from reality. Although, I do hate that Zander is becoming Flanderized (Zanderized?). At the beginning of the series, he was dramatic, funny, and charming. Now, he's whiny, immature, and downright annoying. I hope the author gets him back to his old self.

Wonderful

This book is full of mystery, love, fun, and wacky characters. I absolutely loved the ghosts and characters. What I was upset about is the author using the wrong character name on page 210 during the story and it not getting corrected by any of the proof readers , editor, or author before print. This happens quite a bit lately in books I read. But I loved this book and recommend it to everyone.

Another fine story

I just love Harper, Jared, Mel, and Shawn. The mysteries are compelling and heartbreaking and thoughtfully written. There are a few instances of using incorrect names, which is surprising from this author, but they don't disrupt the flow of the storyline. Here's hoping major-pain-in-the-butt Zander doesn't crash the honeymoon...and WHEN he does, Harper finally gets her priorities straight and sets boundaries!

what could have been a 5 star wedding story-3 for inconsistencies

I have really enjoyed this series, I could actually see it as a Lifetime movie series. But the grammatical, inconsistencies have increased as the series has progressed. Names of characters switch, Peter becomes Cami, or vice versa. He’s become She’s. A night time wedding under the stars on the beach, becomes 1 pm.

Great

Loved this addition to the series. It had a good mystery and lots of great character interaction. I read through it much more quickly than I usually allow myself, (partly being sick I had more time) and mostly I just couldn't put it down. Recommend this book and series. Recommend all books by this author, also her Amanda M Lee books.

Cutting it close

These characters never fail to keep me on the edge of my seat. Just days before the wedding they have a murder or two to solve and a couple of ghosts to cross over. Never a dull moment, but they pull it off with time to spare. I can't wait to see what they get into next.

Woo hoo!

I highly recommend this fantastic book and the series in which it is to all readers who love paranormal mystery romance. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in this series. Enjoy!
If this is the first book you found, it can be read as a standalone, but you will have missed all the funny and heartwarming antics of these lovely characters.

Interesting read

This was definitely an interesting read due to the subject matter. The author is correct that we always hope for the child. If you've been reading this author for awhile then you already know it ends on a happy note and this one is even happier since Harper is getting married.

This series is the best...the author is a fantastic writer and her sarcastic characters make me lol. This one was sad in terms of the mystery of the kissing daughter, Penny and the twist at the end with Cami and her grandmother Lila (she didn’t know she had) was bittersweet. Look forward to the next installment...Ghostly Honeymoon perhaps!?

Another winner

I want Zander for my best friend and Jared is definitely one of my book boyfriends. I love the interplay between all the characters. LHL always manages to transport me into the pages of her book, to the point that when the story is over reality can feel like a letdown. Can't wait until the honeymoon, I know Zander will find them!

Wonderful, ghostly, and heartwarming!

Totally enjoyed the story line. Had years when
they got married! Now we can get more ghosts
in the story lines since they're married -- right?
Zander is as always my favorite character. He's
so full of himself, but a truly wonderful soul!
Next is Zander and Susan's wedding. Can't wait
for that one!!! Great series!!!

Good read

Book 17 finds the wedding planning being interrupted by a hit and run that turns out to be a murder that could possibly be connected to a cold case. It's a fast pace to solve both before the wedding. There is loads of angst, not much danger, a new ghost, mysteries, and finally the wedding. Highly entertaining.

The Wedding.

It's just days before the wedding when Harper and Zander witness a fatal hit and run, and the ghost comes to Harper. With a skillfully written plot and the need to solve the latest case before the wedding, we get another great book in this series.

Great mystery

As any reader might suspect, the book is not about the wedding, but rather one (or is it two?) last case before their wedding day. And it's a beautifully done case, involving Harper and Jared, showcasing their complementary talents and caring hearts.

This was beautiful

I loved all of the banter and laughs all the way up to the sweet moment of the wedding. Zander was his usual self and brought me most of the laughs. It was well written and an awesome build up to a beautiful moment all Amanda/Lily fans have wanted. Well Done!

Book 17

With Harper and Jared's Wedding only single digit days away, there of course has been a murder. Practically under Zander and Harpers noses! The ghost comes to Harper in a dream and entwined itself in another case.
A great story, lose yourself in it!
