Ostoppbar: Löp det lopp du föddes för att vinna

Rate this book

Chris is one of my personal heroes. That said, she is a much better speaker than she is writer. She uses the analogy of a relay race throughout this book (beginning with describing watching the US women's team lose at the Olympics year after year due to some sort of failure in the exchange zone). I think the analogy is solid, but the danger of focusing an entire book around one analogy is that you absolutely beat it to death... and she did. By the end of the book I was thinking, "If I read the word 'baton' one more time SO HELP ME." My favorite sections from the book were around the feeding of the 5,000 and the anointing/preparation of David before he became king-- very insightful and thought-provoking for me. I also loved her perspective as a leader--"I hand batons only to those who are already running." That gave me a lot of food for thought. All in all, a decent book-- better because I heard the whole thing in my head in Chris's fabulous Australian accent-- but I will probably stick to listening to/watching her preach and teach rather than reading her books.

Left inspired and challenged

Sometimes I like to make living as a Christian so complicated. I am guilty of being the sideline Christian - daydreaming of the time in my life where I will be mature, stable and equipped enough to be one of the mega Christians who live on fire for jesus in everything. Chris Caine slapped me across the face in this book. She reminds readers that there is a divine relay going on - it's been going on for generations and it is our turn to run our leg of the race in THIS generation. It's not about my strength or earning God's love. Rather it's running in Christ's strength in me because of God's love in his victory to become more and more like him! I don't want to be on the sideline anymore. Thank you Chris Caine for this reality check. I highly recommend this quick yet powerful read to anyone!

This is a good and inspiring book, about learning to accept the work that God has for you, and to accept when it is time to relinquish your grasp on that task. I had hoped to hear more stories and more details in the stories of captives set free, and like others, I did begin to cringe before the end of the book at some of the word repetition; but the book is a worthwhile read. It opens a window into the world of the most devoted church of Jesus: people with the faith to be on the front lines at work for Christ, relentlessly freeing people from Satan's chains of slavery, one soul at a time. This reveals to the immature believer what is truly important in the big picture of life, and provides a glimpse of the people who have tapped into the Holy Spirit and thus understand the will and purpose of God for their lives in this big picture, this war between the truth and freedom of God, and the deception and slavery of Satan. Jesus has already won, and we're all invited to share in the victory--the remaining battle is for the freedom of the souls still held captive by the enemy. We are reminded that to fight effectively in this war, we must learn to obey our holy and all-knowing commander without hesitation, despite whether or not it makes sense to our mortal minds.

I really felt like I read this book exactly at a time when I needed to most. I had suffered a recent heartbreak and felt myself drooping, emotionally and spiritually. This book was like a breath of fresh air and my heart soaked up Christine's words. I loved this book.

In this book Christine Caine shares stories and advice on how to 'keep running' the race of faith, no matter who we are or what we are enduring. I did enjoy this book and the personal stories from Caine and the workers of A21. I think Caine is an excellent speaker but I found this book a bit repetitive and drawn out. I did appreciate the heart behind it, the passion and the encouragement to 'keep our eyes fixed on Jesus'.

Christine Caine in her new book, “Unstoppable” published by Zondervan helps us Running the Race You Were Born To Win.

From the back cover: You are in the run of your life
People of faith are lined up in lanes all over this globe, batons in hand, running the race that matters most in this world—the divine relay

The divine relay is tough. The track is treacherous. There are so many ways to mangle the exchange zones, to overshoot, to be knocked off the track, to drop the baton, to stop running. The church needs champion runners who never give up, who persevere no matter what they encounter, who run to win, unstoppable, no matter the cost.

If we pass the baton of faith fluidly in the exchange zone from person to person, from generation to generation, we speed unstoppable toward the finish line. But if we fumble the exchange, the whole team, the whole church, suffers. Some runners even stop running and walk right out of the race.

Discover just how important it is to get the “exchange zone” right, to ensure that no runners stop running and walk off the field, but that every runner becomes unstoppable in their dedication to carry their baton of faith to the next runner.

Remember when we were in grade school and we had relay races? I don’t remember the actual distances the runner had to run before the hand off of the baton but it was stressful to be in the race and very exciting to watch. Christine Caine sees the Church, (all of us), in a relay race. Each of us has a role to play in the business of The Body Of Christ. And then when our time is over we are t o pass our baton on to the next group up. I think the whole concept is fascinating and with each chapter Ms. Caine gives us true stories and eternal principles that equip us to run the race marked out for us. Sometimes we get tired in the race and we want to quit and walk off the track Ms. Caine is there to reignite us in our passion so that we keep running to pass our baton off properly and we all get the work done. I think that everyone should have a copy of this book and give it as a gift to friends and family so that their passion can be reignited as well. Everyone will be better off for it.

This was a good motivational read. Christine Caine spends the entire book encouraging you to embrace where you are and what you can do for the Kingdom of God. Her main point is to stay on your course(in your lane) and stay focused on your relationship with Christ so when its time for you to do your part you are willing to take the baton and run your race.

I enjoyed the personal stories she told about the victims A21 has helped, the staff members involved in A21 and the stories from her own life. It was encouraging to see how the members of A21's staff were given jobs that they didn't necessarily feel qualified or prepared for, but rather than give into fear or hesitation they embraced the opportunity and trusted God to lead them. I was also encouraged by the stories from the survivors of human trafficking. While their weren't that many and they were brief, I enjoyed the honesty and courage they showed in sharing their stories and how they are moving forward in their lives. To read the little snippets from their lives puts a lot of things into perspective.

I'm not really a fan of running, so I did get a little bit bored with the ongoing running/race analogy, but overall this was a solid book. Everything Christine Caine is encouraging us to do is practical and with some work can easily be applied to our lives. I would recommend this book to anyone just wanting to know how to do their part and why they should.

This book is written with a passionate and inspirational message. It shares the story of the A21 campaign. The purpose is to rescue those stuck in human trafficking and stoping human trafficking all together. It is a call to those of us who are children of God to get ahold of our callings. To realize that we each have talents and availability to give God. That our salvation is not just about ourselves but about God's bigger story. And God loves justice. We are called to participate. We are also called to leave a legacy to the generations to come. Christine likens our faith walk to a relay race. We are not in it alone and our part is very important. We must run well and be willing to do our part.

Helps the seeking Christian who feels burdened by or intimidated by life in general to reach out and grab the batons that God puts in our hands - so we can run the race that He wants us to run. I've seen Christine Caine speak - she is powerful in her presentation, powerful in her faith, and powerful in her gift to make you feel, well, unstoppable! When you are done reading this book, you will feel a little more equipped to just start doing something, knowing God has your back and that He has equipped you for your leg of the relay! I recommend this book, and also if Christine comes to speak in your area, make a point to attend. Well worth it!

This new book by Christine Caine is filled with amazing stories and powerful truths! I love her emphasis on grace throughout the book and that CHRIST in us is the power that makes us unstoppable through obstacles, setbacks, and passion-slayers. This isn't a "motivational" book. It's a truth-filled, inspiring tool to help us to run the race God has set before us.
For me, this book started off more slowly than "Undaunted" (still my favorite Christine Caine book so far). But it was well organized, contained dramatic personal stories of people running their race, and was filled with the powerful truths we need to be Unstoppable. Highly recommend it!

I love the example she shares from a college presentation regarding perspective. The professor projects an almost blank slide and asks the class what they see. In unison they all miss what is featured on the slide, a small black dot in the center, shouting out instead they see white space. Isnt that the way with us every day? We see most prominently what is lacking rather than focusing on what is very present, though it does not scream for our attention. Let us take a collective breath and individually start seeing and engaging with what is already here, surrounding us.

Christine Caine’s book is a chatty, informative treatise on Hebrews 12:1. She gives examples of God calling, qualifying and equipping ordinary people to be champions through her work with human trafficking. Relating our life race to an Olympic 4x100 relay readily transfers spiritual concepts into practical reality. She reminds us that achievement is not about qualifications, but about allowing Christ to transform us from the inside out.

Inspiring

I have heard Christine teach and share her testimony at Women of Faith, but it did not prepare me for her incredible testimony of faith. I was so blessed and inspired by her story and passion to do the work of God. I highly recommend this book if you want to be encouraged to run the race God has set before you irregardless of the obstacles Satan would place in front of you.

I heard Christine Caine speak at a Hillsong Concert. She was amazing, so I picked up this book to go along with her talk. The book has the same energy and passion as she does live. She uses real life examples of people running the race and backs up her stories with solid scripture on how Christians can run the race and pass the baton to the next generation. I enjoyed this book and would recommend this to Christians wondering what's next.

It’s truly an encouraging and challenging book for all true believers, to take on the ‘baton’ and run in the race that God has placed us in.
God has chosen each one of us, prepared us and placed us in whatever/ wherever we are, to reach out to the unsaved. As a believer, we’ve Christ in us and that makes us ‘unstoppable’ as we willingly receive the baton and join in (relay) race. It’s a wonderful book, don’t miss it, go grab one and read and be changed.

One of the most transformative books I’ve read in a long time. It truly spoke to my heart, and I look forward to reading it again. I know the analogy got to be a bit much for some, but for me, the visual just really fit in so many different ways. I am left challenged, encouraged and changed— absolutely unable to be a sideline spectator of the life and calling God has given me anymore. Highly recommend!!

Once again Christine Caine writes a book to encourages us to start running the relay of life and accepting and passing the batons God gives us. Her stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for the Kingdom was heartfelt. It also challenges us to stay in the race and pick up the batons we have dropped and finish what God calls us to do.i

Christine Caine is an amazing woman of God. Nothing wrong with the book at all, but I have to say that it didn't speak to me quite as much as "Undaunted" -- well, until chapter 10. Chapter 10 on nearly had me in tears, speaking to my heart and personal situation as I deal with grief that comes in waves. If anything, the book is extremely encouraging, particularly the last few chapters.

Key verse- "And let us run the race with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on JESUS, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith." Hebrews 12:2
Key point- As long as we have breath in our bodies, we can and must breathe God's love into this world!
I will definitely read this book again.

It's a simple book with a powerful message. Six of us read it and then met over brunch to discuss. I love the analogy of passing a baton and staying in the race.

As a reminder of the message that she conveyed about the psychology class question, we made index cards with the black dot on front and the Hebrews 12:1-2 on back. We made two- one for us and one to pass on as a baton with a message.

The beginning of this book hit the ground running. (Pun intended.) I mean, who didn't look up the video of that fantastic 2012 4X400 U.S. Women's relay team after that introduction? I loved how Christine Caine wove the analogy of running a relay race and being a champion of faith throughout the book. It's the one thing that stuck with me after I was done reading.

This was a great book. In it she wove in many stories about A21 and how she and her team are actively involved in rescuing ladies out of the sex trade. I was left challenged and encouraged as Caine did what she does so well as she expounded upon the scriptures and made them super applicable. Great book!

I really enjoyed this book. A very inspiring and powerful read. If you don't like change, happy with your ho hum life, comfortable rather than called... then this book is not for you. But if you are seriously hungry to run the race you were born to run... then this book is a must read.

Largely unreadable. The major problem is that it was a pamphlet disguised as a book. The theology was fine. The book was not. It took me 9 days to read not due to length or complexity of thought but due to sheer boredom.

I loved Undaunted so I had high expectations for this book. Unfortunately, it won’t go down on the “must reads” list but it was cool to see how things I had just read about came up in conversation. God definitely used it even though it wasn’t my favorite.

Great analogy to our Christian walk.

I enjoyed reading about passing the baton of faith. I especially liked the testimonials of those involved in A21 and the move towards freedom for the victims of human trafficking.
