A wolf shifter, a demon, and a harpy all walk into a hotel. It’s not the start of a joke, it’s a clusterf*ck.

One favor throws Zephyrine into a situation that has her questioning the main rule that harpies cling to; men aren’t for keeping. But accidents happen.

How’s a harpy supposed to say no to a hot night with not one, but two men?

Greg is sure he’s found his soulmate, but his wolf doesn’t seem to agree. That is until a harpy walks in and turns his world upside down.

What’s a wolf-shifter to do when his wolf wants not one person, but two?

But Asa isn’t going to let Gregory go without trying everything. And if that means adding a feisty harpy to their bed, he’ll be damned if that stops him.

How’s a demon to get his ex-lover and harpy guest to stay?
By seducing them of course.

Get your paranormal love on for this MMF story
Swords will cross.
Mating marks will be traded.
And maybe, just maybe, a harpy will decide that some men are for keeping.

Hot, hot, hot PNR about a polyamorous harpy, werewolf, and demon. I loved all three characters, especially Asa the demon, and found the worldbuilding to be interesting, albeit problematic, especially regarding harpy culture.

I super enjoyed the first half. But then it became a plot, which is not my favorite. The trafficking subplot also felt like an afterthought—I was much more invested in Zeph figuring out how to have two mates when it went against harpy culture and seeing Asa and Greg wrestle with their respective insecurities.

The set up for Mace and Sophia’s book is all kinds of enticing and I’m looking forward to reading it soon!

Character notes: Zephyrine is an Iranian-white harpy and software developer. Greg is a white werewolf and baker. Asa is a 150 year old white demon and investor.

Content notes: surprise pregnancy , on page labor and delivery (all goes well, including one baby who was breech), kidnapping and imprisonment of FMC, threat of forced abortion, explosion (FMC is safe), villain is an enslaver, trafficking subplot, broken wing from being zapped while flying, on page sex, D/s, MMF menage, voyeurism, exhibitionism, orgasm control, mating bite, DP, painful sex (use more lube!!!), alcohol, transphobic line , discussion of male children of harpies used to be killed or abandoned in ancient times, FMC’s grandmother disowned her mother for marrying her mate/FMC’s dad, possible internalized homophobia, ableist language, reference to someone being hexed with a stutter as a punishment, reference to past fatshaming of secondary character, reference to a harpy who was killed by her partner

This was very fun! Definitely some pacing issues. Some actions happened so quickly and without any build up, which left me feeling like I had accidentally skipped pages but the story itself was very fun. I enjoyed all the characters. I thought the writing for them was a lot smoother than the plot writing. The world building wasn’t super developed but what we did get was interesting and added to the conflicts in the story. I would definitely read more from this author!

It was pretty much smut with a little background story to spice it up.

I loved the characters and I love this world Lark created, but don't expect too much from it because the hotness is very much the main thing here.

I discovered this author one night while mindlessly scrolling #BookTok, so I scurried over to KU and found her book.

What I liked:
-The individual characters were really great. When the story focused on each MC, I found myself wanting to know more about them.
-The harpie family history, that was fascinating.

What I had a tough time with:
-There was a little too much going on at first and I was confused with the world building.
-It's a rh, pnr, with magic, sulkies, witches, fae, harpies, demons, and werewolves. I could have missed a few.
-I would have liked to have seen much more character development in this story, and a deeper connection between each of the characters rather than so much sex.

I needed more of a set up before I felt like Asa was making a point, rather than trying to please her. Sexual manipulation sucks.

It also rubbed me the wrong way that Asa is such an ass to Greg. I get the whole broken heart thing, but he seemed like he already had the answers to the triad and could have reached out to Greg at any point in the past few months and told him what he suspected. Was it pride, was he too alpha to admit that someone left him?

Maybe I'm used to more traditional pnr, but I enjoy my possessive, alpha, no-one-but-touches-my-mate kinda werewolf.

I thought I didn’t want to read this book because it’s poly. However, after reading other books with sexy found family, I gave it a try! I really love these three people. Lillian Lark does a great job with providing a fairly quick start to the relationship and enough depth with various emotions and issues. Add to that we got some adventure and it was a joy. Now I want to read the book after this all over again.

Short and sweet!

A lovely, sexy menage. While there are certainly a handful of misunderstandings they are revolved in a reasonable manner for all involved, and given how short the book is nothing is too dragged out.

Re-read this 12/13 - I randomly thought of this book last night and had to read it. I enjoyed it a lot more on the second read - I love when that happens!

While I still think the relationship development was rushed (this book is 191 pages so, to be expected), Lillian does a great job at giving each character a personality, voice, and their own fears. I liked the world this book was set in among magical beings (and it crosses with her Stalked by the Kraken book, which I loved) - and I've never read a book about harpies so their bloody history and matriarchal society was super interesting.

Rounding up to 4 stars

--------

This book had a ton of potential - the plot is really captivating.

While doing a favor for her sister, harpy Zeph stumbles into a complex love triangle of sorts - on first meeting wolf shifter Greg he knows she’s his mate, BUT he previously found (and broke up with) the demon Asa who he also thought was his mate. I loved the idea of confusion and angst and second chance romance between Greg and Asa, who had obviously been so hurt - and the complexity of adding a third person to a relationship that has been so broken. How will Zeph fit with them? Will Asa be jealous? How can a triad be even?

The abrupt and short POV shifts especially at the beginning of the book felt jarring to me. There were certain phrases in writing (usually in non-dialogue parts) that made me kind of go “??”. The actual relationship development was very quick - over a few days they went from just meeting to mated to

2.5⭐️ Review:

“She is going to be the bloody end of you, of both of us.”

Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this book nearly as much as I did Lillian Lark’s other books. While this one wasn’t bad, it was just kind of rushed?

Every sentence felt like a new conflict or problem arising one after the other with no breaks. Then each conflict had conveniently placed solutions.

So, while I did like the characters, I didn’t care for the writing or plot in this one.

I did like Mace, though. The epilogue intrigues me enough that I will be reading the 2nd part to this universe.

MMF. I felt the relationship between MM was the strongest. I got the impression they added the F mostly out of coincidence. The spice was definitely there. Not so much of a plot. Paranormal romance were their biggest problem was unplanned pregnancy. I think this could have been a pretty cool story with some great background, but it focused pretty much solely on the pregnancy. Not what I was looking for.

Three of hearts by Lillian Lark

Would deffo recommend this book to anyone who likes pnr (paranormal romance).

This book follows three main characters (Zeph, Greg and Asa) and their love story. Asa is a demon Greg is a wolf shifter and Zeph is a Harpy.

I immediately fell in love with Zeph, soon I fell for Asa and Greg. It’s available on Kindle Unlimited so if you have that I would deffo recommend you check it out, even if you aren’t the biggest fan/ haven’t gotten into pnr type of books I would still recommend.

This book also introduced me to the mythical creatures Harpys (I love them now)

This books imagery is genuinely fantastic and it’s extremely easy and fast paced read.

The plot was a generic one but instead of two, there’s three lovers (a triad as the book refers to it), could’ve tried to work on the plot a bit more, but it was a solid one that (to my knowledge) doesn’t have any loopholes.

The characters are beautifully written but throughout the story I wouldn’t say this book had the best character development. I felt the book was missing something but right at the moment I can’t quite put my finger on it. I would say I thought the book was good, good for a authors first book(I think its her first book but I’m unsure). This is the first book to an ongoing trilogy (again might be wrong). I am emotionally invested in these characters!

Recommendation: 18+, pnr fans, paranormal fans, romance fans, ACOTAR fans, chapter 55 fans (we all know what I’m talking about) and lgbtq+ fans.

EDIT: I feel like maybe the romance was a little rushed, not forced, rushed. Maybe if the author took more time to develop the relationship further... but again cannot stress this enough, I THOUGHRLY enjoyed it.

Star rating: 3.5 stars out of 5

DNF at 35% when Greg found out his great-grandparents were also a triad.

I found all the action and lack of communication to be rather contrived, and the insta-lust seemed like a false foundation for a serious relationship between the three main characters - the FMC harpy Zephyrine and ex-lovers demon Asa and wolf shifter Gregory. After Greg's mother matter-of-fact told Greg that having two fated mates was no big deal, I had to quit since all the info-dumping was quite boring. I read a few reviews with spoilers from others that finished this book, and the rest of the plot didn't sound like it would be my cup of tea either.

Reading the author's note, this appeared to be their first paranormal and menage romance. It was definitely a lot less enjoyable than the other writing I had read in their Monstrous Matches series, of which the first book actually takes place before this story chronologically.

Three of Hearts is a paranormal, MMF, fated mates, fast burn novel telling the story of Zeph, Asa and Greg.

This is a very well written story, and I was fully invested from start to finish. Although it is fated mates/fast burn, the characters have depth and their own unique flaws and issues that are worked out over the course of the book. You'll also find some danger and peril, prejudicial family members, and smoking hot bedroom scenes.

Looking forward to the next book in the series!

A lot of drama and insecurities all round on this one. A harpy, Demon and a wolf. Strong on the MM. I liked it when Asa took charge and got them together, but he really knows how to mess up. Bounced between sweet and annoying and just really wanted to smack their heads together. Add in the disapproving family drama and the trafficking bad guy, there is a lot going on. Curious about Mace.

I really enjoyed Three of Hearts, being a lover of PNR and MM generally. This was my first foray into a harpy love triangle, but demons and wolves work well for me any time .I particularly enjoyed Lilian’s writing style, which was easy to read and descriptive enough, without being verbose. The steam factor was and no real triggers, save for an unplanned pregnancy. The only downsides for me were that it was a bit of a fast burn, ‘instalove’ scenario, and I’m a slow burn gal, and it had a bit of a novella feel, with so much more still to come (not a bad thing really!)

I wasn't sure I'd enjoy reading about a Harpy, but this author has created fully fleshed out characters that drew me in and kept me coming back for more!
I'm definitely a new fan of Lillian Lark. She weaved a wonderful tale and made my heart do things it doesn't normally do anymore. It pounded and skipped a bit when I realized that I'm into praise kink! Oh Asa... you dirty demon. Where can I find a devil like you?
Don't get me started on Greg. Who doesn't love a big old cuddly wolf shifter?
I look forward to the next book, can't wait to see how Sophia handles Mace. (Or is it gonna be the other way around?)

Love Triad with a Paranormal Twist

I discovered this author and book thanks to TikTok. The author does videos of recommendations based on different types of genres and when I saw one was her book, I had to give it a read. We have a love triad, mmf style, between a Harpy, Demon and a Shifter. I don't think I've read a book with a Harpy in it before and I really liked this since it introduced me to new paranormal/fantasy concepts I wasn't as familiar with. The only thing I wish the characters would have done better was COMMUNICATE. They were so good at calling the other person out for not doing it but each one of them was terrible at doing it themselves. This book ends with HEA, no real cliffhanger, but an epilogue that sets up the next in the series.

Don't love the surprise pregnancy but the author was kind enough to put a content warning for it. I wasn't expecting so much of the book to be about the time Zeph is pregnant though.

My main issue was pacing and the tacked on subplot. This is her 1st pnr however and I love her later books :)

Another great read from Lillian Lark!

*Insert deep voice...* From the author that brought you Stalked by a Kracken.... Another tale to add onto your TBR.

📚 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Fantasy/Magic/Paranormal

📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Zeph is a harpy bound by strict traditions of her culture... including never settling down. When she meets a wolf Shifter who claims she's his mate, it's already alarming. But the fact that he's already mated is another issue unto itself.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: It's no secret I loved Stalked by a Kraken, mostly because I love Lillian Lark's style. She uses the idea of soul bonding and fated mates - all things we readers love, and creates stories that are solely focused on that insanely feral connection.

Three of Hearts was also another example of Lark's ability to write sexual fluidity. Greg and Asa have been together and been apart. Bringing Zeph into their already complicated pairing makes for more angst. But I love how Lark writes this world, makes it easy to understand and really let's each character breath.

I loved Greg and his wolf side. I loved Isa and his dominance but vulnerability. And I adored Zeph and her harpy qualities, along with the way she challenged the boys. Another great magical romance!

🔮 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲: Easy

I typically do not read a lot of paranormal romance, but after seeing a few excerpts from this book, I was curious and decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did! This MMF demon/shifter/harpy romance drew me in from the very first page.

In Three of Hearts, Asa and Greg had been in a relationship but Greg's wolf was still searching for another mate so Greg let Asa go. Greg thinks that his wolf has found his mate in Zephyrine, so when she literally falls into Asa's hands, Asa proposes that she stay with both men. Zephryine is a harpy though and harpies don't mate, so she needs a little persuasion to join this triad. When faced with a huge surprise, the admonishment of Zephryine's extended family and an unexpected danger, will these three somehow make their new relationship work?

Since I don't read much of this genre, I was worried that I'd be a little lost with this storyline, but that wasn't the case at all. The author does an amazing job of building a fantastical world without making it too complex. I enjoyed all of the characters, and although shifters have never been my thing (I've always been more of a vampire girl), I especially liked our wolf Greg. There were plenty of funny moments, action, a touch of suspense and a lot of steam in this insta-love romance which made it a very quick and enjoyable read. This is the first book that I've read by Lillian Lark and I'm definitely interested in checking out more.

"She is going to be the bloody end of you, of both of us."

Just like all of the previous Lillian Lark books I've read, I enjoyed myself. But I will say that so far - this is my least favorite one. But don't let that stop you from reading because I had a great time and still devoured the book in a single day.

Things that I liked:
Zeph & Greg's family dynamics
Asa as a whole, even though he can be a stupid head
The way that these three worked together
*Potential Spoiler?* I also actually didn't hate how the accidental pregnancy trope worked in this book
Greg's possessiveness - it's a weakness for me in fictional characters so no surprise there

Things I didn't like:
How quickly they came together? But I realize that this isn't like a crazy long book so it does sort of make sense. I just would have liked a little more pushback from Zeph personally.
The plot seemed to move a lot faster than the other books during the main part of it so it was done and over with a lot quicker than I was expecting.

So overall, it's not my favorite out of the other books of hers that I have read but I did enjoy myself and am diving into my next Lillian Lark book.

I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger...

But there is a definite introduction to the next book in the epilogue.
Good MMF! The M&M relationship was established before the F introduction, and what an introduction was!
The harpy family seems to be guiding this story collection. There was a very good introduction to her family and harpies in general.
The wolf shifter, unlike every other shifter story I have ever read, does not have a ferocious bond with his pack. He's not a lone wolf, but, he has left his pack to be on his own, though he is still close to them.
The demon shifter, he is basically the alpha of the triad. There is more to his past. I think that may be explored in the next book, which deals with his life long friend/companion Mace.
It's a good story, I will probably continue the series.

I really enjoyed this book! I love MMF and it just makes me super happy when all three people are in love with each other. Zeph, Asa, and Greg all fit together so well and I loved reading their story. The sex was also really hot. I’m kinda sad it’s over but I think the book was just the right length. It was insta-love and fated mates but I still really felt the connection and love between them all.

Other than the storyline, I really enjoyed the writing style too. I loved the alternating first-person POVs.

I was really intrigued by the epilogue and I’m excited to read Sophia and Mace’s story. Seems like it’ll be a nice enemies-to-lovers sort of book. ;)

Lark did an excellent job with world-building - how many NPR books do you know with harpies?? I love the dive into mythology and the creation of the harpy culture. There were a lot of steamy scenes with all three characters, so pretty dang smutty. If you like fated mates tropes and cross-paranormal matings, this book should def be on your list.

I wish the book was a bit longer and more developed on the external plot. Most of the plot is simply the characters sorting out their relationship. I would have loved to see more action around the bounty hunter plot. We also don't get much into Asa's background.

ARC Review- 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved this new book from Lillian Lark!
It’s about 3 fated mates- a harpy, a demon, and a wolf shifter. Two meet through a job, two have a past, and all of them are 🥰🥰🥰 together.

This was really emotional and I loved getting to know the characters. The relationship had ups and downs but I was rooting for them because they were clearly meant to be ❤️

It’s super hot and has great M/M and group stuff! lots of dirty talk and power play in the bedroom. Biiig fan.

Highly recommend this for your next paranormal romance read 🖤

Stop what you're doing

But seriously. Stop whatever you are doing and buy this book. Borrow this book. Move it to the top of your TBR list because I swear this won't disappoint.

I've obsessed with Lillian Lark these past few weeks but I didn't bite the bullet to read this book yet because for some stupid reason I hesitated. Was I in the mood for a MMF paranormal romance? I didn't think so but look, it was great.

Superb. Fantastic. One in a million. Heartwarming. Soothing. Leave you with butterflies in your chest.

This book was everything. Perfect blend of spice and plot and the characters were truly out of this world. These alpha men who show their insecurities and actually have feelings vs I alpha, you submit is so refreshing and so needed!

Tender and Spicy

New relationships are rough, but relationships between three supernatural beings are even more difficult to navigate.

I've never been on a poly relationship, but I imagine jealousy is common at times? How do you find your identity in the polysphere? How do you ensure that everyone's needs are met? Being with one person at a time is hard enough for me. I assume good communication is necessary?

This book is all about addressing insecurities and making a poly mmf relationship work and it felt both practical and sweet. I found myself tearing up a little at times, just for the aching all three characters feel for each other. It was all spicy with some tenderness thrown in and I loved it.

I'm excited to read the next book and more of this author's work. This was only her second book, I believe, and it was great. 💛

I am so disappointed that this book isn't longer! I fell in love with this beautiful, mythical triad, their deep emotions and hurts, their need for acceptance and love. The sex scenes were so perfectly interspersed throughout that this book was too quick of a read.
The combination of smashing traditions and learning to trust one another and the supporting cast of these 3, set in a world of paranormal creatures, magic and modern technology, made me want more.
Lillian Lark has made me a lifelong fan, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

★ Mates to be ★

—>>> Harpy culture rules when it comes to Greg and Asa realizing that the loner Zephyrine is fated to be theirs, but then all their fears cannot be contained and will require all their energies to unravel. A little danger and suspense with regards to a slaving ring, and Zeph realizing that being mated to her two men is a place where she wants to be, by being brave enough to buck harpy culture to pursue their happiness. Engaging first PNR menage romance from this author!

Quick and beautiful story!

I’ve never read about a harpy, but I am so glad now that I have! I loved this story of Asa, Greg, and Zeph. It’s a paranormal MMF story, and Lillian did an AMAZING job with the world and character building. I teared up a few times and I was not expecting to feel so much emotion about the characters! I can’t wait for Sophia and Maces story! I highly recommend this book if you enjoy a great story with plenty of 🔥🔥🔥
