After Vexx White and his fellow dungeoneers survive their latest brush with death, a chance encounter with a woman at the market leads them on their next wild adventure. The mission she describes is dangerous, and all she has to offer is a mysterious amulet in exchange for the rescue of her missing husband. But something about the amulet intrigues Vexx, and against his better judgment, he accepts her quest and vows to reunite the lovers at any cost.In “The Missing Elf”, the third installment of J. E. Thompson’s The White Chronicles, the dungeoneers’ lust for adventure takes them to distant islands and over the rough seas as they battle their way towards the fame and glory that always seem to be just over the horizon.
Surprisingly good. After the disappointing book 2, I had low expectations for book 3. To my pleasant surprise, this was actually quite good. The authors story-crafting has improved and this book was filled with multiple adventures keeping my interest. Whilst both female leads are still underdeveloped they are portrayed with more depth and in a less demeaning way than in previous books. If the story carries on in this direction then the series could turn out quite good. It's still no masterwork of literary genius, it never will be, however, it's becoming an enjoyable casual reading experience. I rated the previous 2 books 3 star, this one gets 4 !
