After centuries of torturous visions from Fate, party boy EJ, hides his guilt behind a perfectly crafted visage. When a woman appears in his dreams, full of sunshine and innocence, he thinks it's another punishment. But when the dream warps, EJ must question not only his destiny, but also his aversion to commitment.
Dreaming of a sexy book boyfriend is the closest thing Hailee has to a happily ever after. Years of running from her mom's imaginary demons ensured that. But when tragedy strikes and Hailee's caught in the middle of a brutal war, all her hope falls on the reluctant hero she thought was a fantasy.
As an ancient battle threatens to tear them apart, EJ and Hailee must fight for their happy ending before their nightmares become a reality.
Each book in the series features a different main couple with a swoony HEA (no cliffhangers!). But if you’d like to follow along with the baddie’s story, the series is best read in order.

The hot, rockstar-esque, charmer of the Fallen Guardians has finally got his own book--and what a book it was! An emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, I was blown away by Laelyn's EJ. His initial self-loathing broke my heart, but by the time the book ended, he found redemption in his own eyes. I may also have made a sneaky bet about his real name. Hailee, his Dumahel romantic interest, is a woman on the run and EJ's chosen to protect her, much to his consternation. Responsibility is something he's avoided like the plague, burned one too many times by Fate's cruel punishments.
Hailee is searching for her twin sister after an attack on their family by the Fallen. Alone and on the run, her soul connection with EJ is the only thing that feels right in her broken world. Sweet and far too trusting, Hailee is the kind of woman you want to smack over the back of the head, until you realise she may be being manipulated by a higher power. At that point, I wanted to smack Fate instead.
For those fans of Laelyn's, in terms of the series narrative arc, this is the book in which some of the threads Fate has been spinning become visible. And Blain's goals are called into question. TBH, at this point I don't know which of them is the bad guy, and I like it!
So, BRILLIANT work, Ms Laelyn. Now get back to work please. I need Book 4. And just saying, I'm not sure if I should 'trust in Fate', because I'm pretty sure 'Fate's a Bitch'.
After centuries of hellish visions, EJ is convinced that his latest dreams are just another torturous punishment from Fate. Hailee is about to discover a world she didn't know existed, when tragedy strikes her family and secrets are uncovered. Her only escape from the craziness of her life are her dreams that feature a fantasy guy that is nothing like her favourite book boyfriends. Hunted by one side, hidden by another, is she about to become the centre of a brutal war? Can they battle through the darkness and find their happily ever after, or will those hellscape visions become a reality?
The third book in the Fallen Guardians series is just as compelling as the rest. I enjoyed being back in this well crafted world with the whole group. While reading the first two books will give you more background and familiarise you with the characters, this could be read on its own too without any confusion. EJ is an interesting character. Definitely book boyfriend material. He has a carefree rock star vibe meets designer grunge bad boy thing going on. Equal parts broody & playful. I always found myself worrying about EJ. His visions seem very dangerous. What if he was driving or swimming when they happened? They make him far too vulnerable. EJ is a reluctant hero with a solid aversion to commitment. He puts on a believable facade, covering up his feelings with a party boy persona. A love 'em and leave' em type that will only commit to back room hookups in his favourite club. But under the surface you get a glimpse of something more. His cringing and lighthearted mockery towards his brothers romantic happiness smacks of jealousy, but with a definite undercurrent of longing. Hailee has a fascinating ability that instantly had me intrigued. Being pulled into dreams is an interesting element. Having them be tangible enough to wake up with evidence brought back from the dream construct is thoroughly compelling. Her twin Ebony however didn't feel like a real character until almost the end. Perhaps because we don't officially meet her until that point. Before that her existence is more a factoid, with no sense of her as a full character. I assume the next instalment will see her character become more fully built. I love the guessing game trying to figure out what the initials stand for. I found myself throwing a few guesses out there too. I enjoyed seeing the brothers and Raine again, even Blaine, and especially Gabe. Cole is interesting and i look forward to seeing these characters grow and develop as the series progresses. I could not put this one down. Another fantastic story from Cassie. Full of heart, action, sexy Guardians, and a good dose of steam too. A definite favourite in the realm of paranormal romance. I've said it once and I'll say it again... "boys with wings are heavenly".
Unseen is book 3 in the Fallen Guardians series and while it follows and focuses on a different couple, there is a general storyline that I feel would be best appreciated if the books were read in order. If that’s not a big deal for you, like me, feel free to dive right in. At first, I was a little lost with all the characters but I quickly caught on and it became a non-issue for me.
UNSEEN was my first-ever Cassie Laelyn book and there was something about her writing that had me captivated. The moment I started reading, I wanted to do nothing else but read. I was all in, fully invested.
Which leads me to EJ. There was something about his character that fully drove me in. He was mysterious, sexy, and sweet all in one hunk of a guy. Hell, even his almost-kiss with Hailee had me swooning. Yep! An ALMOST- kiss. That’s how amazingly well the author developed the chemistry between them. It sizzled!!
I also loved Hailee! Turning 25 years old, only to realize there not only was this whole other world she had no idea about, but she was very much a part of it! Talk about a rude awakening. Luckily though, she had EJ to not just guide her and answer all her questions, but protect her along the way. And what a journey it was!
Suffice it to say, I will be checking out the other books in the series because one thing is certain: Cassie Laelyn has gained a fan!
I'm so happy we finally get EJ's story!! I was so worried going into this book. EJ has the most tortured past of any of the Fallen Guardians, so I was really hoping he got a wonderful HEA. Fate knows he's earned it!! I liked the medium burn of their relationship. I also liked that they connected through dreams, that was a fun twist to how they met. Overall I thought it was a good addition to the series and I enjoyed reading it!
Mind Blown!! When I say Cassie Laelyn has written a book of epic proportions, this is the book I am talking about. I love The Fallen Guardians and EJ and Hailee are my all time favorite couple. With each book I think I have seen the best and yet this story proves Cassie has more than the best to give. The amazing world building in this book blew me away. The swoon is real! So real! Something about an angel in a beanie and rockstar jeans. Hailee stole my heart with her love and devotion to her loved ones. Her remarkable strength. You can feel the torment, pain, love and trust in these characters. I cannot express my love for Cassie's writing, her characters and her world's.
Move over Raven, there’s a new angel in the house. EJ’a story was everything I hoped for and more. Cassie really bought her A game with Unseen. This series just keeps getting better and better and I cannot wait for more.
Each story gets better and better. Unseen was all kinds of hot, sexy, witty, and amazing! (And for some unknown reason, GR wasn't allowing my 5 stars! Fixed it, thanks to the diligence of a friend!) It was definitely a 5+ star read!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Hailee has spent her life never putting down roots, thanks to her mother's strange need to keep moving, and finds solace in her book boyfriends. But Fate will soon throw her into the path of EJ, an immortal Guardian barred from returning to Heaven and more interested in living it up than in being someone's knight in rockstar jeans. The growing attraction between them might just be hotter than where they're headed...
I didn't think I'd enjoy EJ's book, but I was very wrong about that! I think Hailee might be my favourite heroine of the series so far - perhaps the book is my favourite of the series too. Laelyn is settling into a comfortable rhythm with her romances and the pacing is just right, with nothing ever dragging on too much. I'm often wary of insta!love situations, but I did enjoy this one.
The Fallen Guardian series from my dear friend Cassie has been a guilty treat of mine. I’ve been loving these guardian angel characters of her for quite some time and when a major supporting character that you loved from the very beginning finally gets his story told, you drop everything to read it. EJ is the party boy of the group. He suffers these terrible visions that show him awful things before they happen in hopes that maybe he can intervene and stop them, but he always seems to be too late.
These experiences have created a hardened man that believes he isn’t worthy of anything good. He fails at everything he does and blames himself for why he and his Guardian brothers are stuck on earth, banished from Heaven, with the sole purpose of protecting mortals from the Fallen Angels. Until he starts having these vivid dreams, instead of his visions, that seem much more real than anything he’s experienced before and he meets Hailee. A half-immortal Dumahel that just reached the peak of developing her unknown powers and is a dream-walker. She’s unknowingly pulling EJ into her dreams. But she and her twin sister are in very serious danger and EJ will do everything possible to keep her safe.
What I loved most about this story was the deep theme of redemption and forgiveness. Self forgiveness that is. EJ has spent hundreds of years on Earth blaming himself for all the bad things that happened to him and his brothers and in turn has closed himself off from feeling happiness and love. Instead spending his days in a drunken stupor and irrelevant sexual relations. But his meeting Hailee starts to change all of that. He starts to realize that things are not all his fault and that he does deserve happiness. Even is he has to enter the gates of Hell itself to save her from the biggest threat she’s ever had to face.
It’s an intense journey of self reflection and emotional passion that had my heart racing. I’ve loved EJ since I first met him in book 1 and I just knew his story would be an emotional journey for me. Hailee is the perfect fit for him – she balances his hardened ways with her light and airy personality but because of the difficult experiences she’s had in her own life, she can handle his tougher times and keep up with him.
Oh be still my beating heart. I have waited for EJ since I first met him in Unforsaken. He stole my heart right away. I waited patiently and fell in love with Aric and Willow in Unforgotten. It was shortly after that, she informed me that she finished EJ's book. I can't count how often I driven Cassie crazy waiting on the publisher to get the book to her. When she got it and let me read it first... I was blown away by her actually putting a shout out to me in the book under dedications. Now the book just wow! I was expecting amazing and wonderful. I never expected what I got. Sunshine, Roses, Flutterbies, lots and lots and LOTS, did I mention lots of FEELS. I loved how EJ and Hailee fell in love and how quirky she was. It was funny to hear him deny for the longest that she was his soulmate, and all the hell he put the others through when they found their mate, only to have him turn into a love struck fool when he finally accepted it. They had so much in common and she always saw through EJ's façade and when something was wrong with him. He needed his happy ever after with all the hell he endures having been cursed with the visions. Maybe now that he has Hailee it won't be so bad on him. Can't wait for the next book, but Cass... I don't think any book, no matter how great it is will top my EJ. =0) <3 >3 >3
Unseen is the third book in The Fallen Guardians Series by Cassie Laelyn. It is narrated from the dual POV of EJ and Hailee. This is the first book from The Fallen Guardians Series that I have read and I absolutely loved it. I loved EJ and Hailee so much!! The two of the, were made for each other and I don’t think I’ve ever cheered for someone as much as I did for them.
I loved all of the other characters and I found them to be very interesting especially Raine with her tough girl attitude. I also really liked the idea that fate is a person. I can’t wait to read to Unforsaken and Unforgotten so I can learn more about the other characters. I definitely can’t wait to see what comes next.
Unseen is a beautifully written book that has mystery, romance, a whole lot of action and intriguing characters that will make you want to stay living within the pages of this book forever. Unseen will draw you in and leave you craving for more. I am never left disappointed after reading Cassie’s books because of the care, effort and heart that is put into each one. This is why she has become one of my favourite authors.
I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.
After being banished from Heaven by Fate, EJ is forced to endure terrible, blood-filled visions that always arrive too late for him to affect the outcome. EJ hides his guilt and pain behind a jokester/party boy image, but when he starts experiencing visions of a woman on a beach, he begins to question everything. Hailee has spent years running away with her mother and twin sister from her mother’s imaginary demons. Reading romance novels is her one true escape, and she dreams of the day she will find a hero of her own. When her mother’s demons finally catch up to them, Hailee is thrown into a war that she doesn’t fully understand.
EJ and Hailee have one of the sweetest relationships that I’ve read in a long time. That’s not to say that they don’t go through some pain and heartache, but you could just tell that they were meant for each other right from the very beginning. I think they had one of the very best first kiss scenes ever and wish I could have a do-over with EJ for my first kiss 😂 I can’t get enough of this world that Cassie has created and I’m so excited to see who’s book is next-I’m hoping for Blaine or Cole because I need more of them in my life! I highly recommend this series if you are a fan of paranormal romance!
Well, first off, I’m going to come straight out and say that EJ is my favourite Guardian, hands down! (Don’t tell the others, I don’t want Raven to get mad about being replaced.)
This story had me from the start. I had an instant connection to EJ that just deepened over time, and I loved his squishy heart. Tough guys with marshmallow interiors are a huge weakness for me, and EJ delivered in all the right ways. Hailee was his perfect match, with more than enough fire to put EJ through his paces. As events unfolded, I found myself frustrated with Hailee in all the right places... and wanted to put my fist through Asher’s face. Once again, Blaine popped in to do his thang (and I do so love his thang) by being the most fabulous villain that he is. Every scene he’s in, I ended up grinning because how can you not like Blaine? The best villains are the ones with complexity, and he definitely has it in spades.
Awesome work by Cassie on this latest installment in the series. Well written, excellent pacing and engaging characters.
Fun times ❤

Dreams of a sensual paradise become hellish nightmares when EJ and Hailee meet.
Convinced it’s just another form of torment thanks to Fate’s torturous ‘gift,’ EJ figures the beautiful woman he ‘sees’ is just another of Fate’s cruel games. So, he does what EJ does best–hide behind booze, meaningless relationships, and emotional detachment. When EJ realises Hailee truly exists, all that carefully constructed control disappears.
Hailee’s dreams of a gorgeous, sexy man take on a whole new meaning when she discovers he’s real, and so are the demons her mother’s been hiding her from for years. When EJ rescues her from a disastrous situation, a new world is revealed, and suddenly she can’t tell what’s true and what’s fantasy anymore. All she knows is that she and EJ are in danger, and time is running out for them both.
A new book boyfriend to ‘fall’ for... Not sure I need to add more than that. No? Okay, add a little emotional torture, a swoon worthy guy, a love story that puts your heart through the ringer and a twist that makes you question the meaning of true evil. Good luck stopping at one chapter. My favourite in Ms Laelyn’s series so far.
I've always been a big fan of fate but fate is darkly cruel in Unseen, a b*t*h if you will. I'm not sure how I missed this amazing author so since this is my first book by her, it's safe to say that I came fashionably late & will be going back to the beginning later tonight. Anyway, let's talk about EJ. He captured my heart from the jump, so experiencing how he feels about himself deep down just about brought me to my knees not to mention what fate is doing to punish him was over the top evil keeping him in darkness. Hailee has always found solace in her book boyfriends, but lately, she's dreaming about a guy who isn't her norm, but little does she know that he's going to play a big part in her future. Her family is attacked which brings some big secrets to light, and as she's trying to wrap her head around it, she's also on the lamb trying to find her sister, which brings EJ to her as a protector along with some others since she's being hunted. And now the question becomes; which side will win in this battle?! You know how to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
This is beyond good! Astounding! I can not get enough of these angels and honestly who would not want to? This series has gone beyond good and delves into the realm of PHENOMENAL! I can not say enough good! This paranormal is such that it is totally engaging and remarkably written! Cassie has written a joyous story that will have you on the edge until the very end! It has an amazing storyline and is written such that there is no comparison out there! If you have bene keeping with this series you know that EJ is broken and feels not worthy, but Hailee is remarkable in teaching of redemption and having a balance he needs to be able to change his depressing image he has created. She ensures that he is worthy and his worth and value are as such that he knows who and what he is doing is for the good of all. I absolutely love this series! I know you will too. Get this series! I HIGHLY recommend this series and this author!

EJ, bad boy (or as close to a bad boy an angel can get without turning Fallen), is tortured by his visions from Fate. Until he meets a girl in his visions, a girl that he is drawn to despite how much he tries to denies it. Hailee woke up on her 25th birthday to her whole life and reality being turned upside down, and soon the only one she can turn to is the mysterious man from her dreams.
It is a fascinating universe on the edge of our reality where guardian angels figth fallen angels. I loved seeing the interaction between the guardian angels when EJ tried to deny the obvious connection to Hailee. And I adored Hailee, she was sweet, just ...good, loyal and a figther, she was just what EJ needed to balance his broodyness and self doubt.
Highly recommend!
*Can be read out of order.*

Ah EJ the forever flirt and carefree Guardian who loves to drink, joke and be a ladies man, wow there is soo much more to you and it breaks your heart as you learn more about him and his time in heaven as well as learn more about how Blaine fell also. I loved the premise of the Dumahel but also found what happened to Hailee, Ebony and their mum was just tragic and felt fully invested in seeing where things would go for Hailee and Ebony and hope that EJ and the others can help. EJ deserves to be happy and the way he holds himself back makes you want to shake some sense into him and you feel torn for both he and Hailee with the situation they are in and when things heat up (pun intended) your not sure exactly how things will end. I soo cant wait for the next book as I need to know what happens next!!!!

This is the third book in this wonderful series about angels sent to earth to try to get Blaine a fallen angel back to earth We finally get the third angel EJ story
Ej is a bit of a playboy he is the one who realised that Blaine was about to fall and never said anything causing him as well as Raven and Aric to be sent to earth and fate wasn't happy with that no she has been punishing him with visions ever since But now he is having visions of the same woman over and over he soon realises that in fact he is been drawn into the dreams of Hailee but she is no human she is in fact half human half angel and part of a twin one dark one light and Hailee is the light one can he track her down and keep her safe and then can he and his brothers track her twin Ebony and save her as well You will have to read to see
In this installment of the Fallen Guardians series the Guardians are back and it’s Ej’s turn and he reluctantly finds his soulmate Hailee. Hailee, her twin sister and mother had been on the run her whole life. She was the responsible sister taking care of things because her sister was wild and carefree and their mother was always a bit paranoid constantly saying something and someone was after them. They never believed her until the night she saw her mother murdered by a Fallen. This exciting and interesting story where Fate assigns her guardians to protect their innocents from the Fallen led by Blaine. Blaine has Hailee’s twin brought to hell which leads EJ and Hailee on a dangerous, deadly and complicated mission to save her sister. A choice must be made. Good read

This was such a great story. I loved the banter between the characters, and Hailee certainly struck a chord with her love of book boyfriends. EJ keeps insisting he is not the hero in one of her stories, but his actions speak much louder than his words. The richness of their budding relationship and the glimpses of EJ's tortured past kept me reading, and I loved the way Hailee kept trying to guess what EJ stood for. I figured it out before her, so that was fun for me. I also loved EJ's interactions with the other Guardians, and Raine in particular. (Can't wait until we get to read her story.) Plenty of heart wrenching moments and lots of steam make for a great mix. A five start read all the way. (And I'm with EJ about sandy beaches.)
Unseen is the first book I’ve read from this author and I was blown away! I was immediately hooked and couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. I plan to read the previous and future books in this series to get a better understanding of this fascinating universe this author has created! EJ and Hailee are perfect together and totally swoon-worthy!!! Both have past trauma and deal with things in different ways, but together, they balance each other out. Hailee is such a wonderful FMC — likable, relatable, and just super sweet. EJ was the typical party boy blaming himself for so many things. I loved their connection.

Cassie saved the best for last!! This series has been amazing but this book was by far my absolutely favorite!! The writing of this book was kind of fun with the H and h meeting in a dream world. Hailee and EJ meet through dreams that feel like reality. EJ is probably the most broken of the Guardians and ends up matched with an innocent and pure soul who is being hunted by the Fallen. His one goal is to keep her safe. So many twists and turns in this story that leads to the ultimate conclusion and I couldn’t have been happier with this book!

I thought I was prepared for EJ's book but I was wrong! It's an emotional rollercoaster that I couldn't put down. EJ is my favorite Guardian and his story doesn't disappoint. Sexy, funny, sweet, and so much more is behind that playboy facade. Hailee wasn't what I expected at first. She develops into her own and their love story is amazing. There are a lot of revelations in this one. Things are setup for some epic future storylines. I can't say enough good things about this series. Its original and completely engaging. I can't wait for more!
This was book 3 in the Fallen Guardians series and while it was clear that I was missing out on a lot of background information during the first chapter, I was easily able to catch up with the story after that initial chapter and now I can’t wait for the next book to be released.
I loved tortured EJ, the guardian who gets visions of events he can’t change, things that torture him because of this. When he starts getting visions of Hailee, he’s in complete denial for a time about what it could mean.
Hailee was a good character, I thought she took everything in her stride, way better than I’d have taken things if I’d found out I was immortal and someone was trying to kill me.
The relationship between Hailee and EJ was sweet and sexy and I enjoyed getting to know them.
Good verse evil is a major theme in this story, as well as trust, in self and others.
I can’t wait to see how the war between the Fallen and the guardians plays out, and what Fate has in store for everyone.
Thanks to the author for a digital copy of this novel in return for an honest review.
Absolutely loved this book! This is the first book I have read in this book series and holy cow now I need to read the first 2!!! I loved everything about EJ and Haliee. They are definitely made for eachother. I loved how the book is written in the POV of both Haliee and EJ. Love seeing both sides of the story unfold! This is definitely a page turner. Filled with romance and turmoil. If you enjoy PNR u r gonna love this ride! Must read for any Romance and PNR lover. I'm definitely a forever fan of Cassie Laelyn!!
Hailee's life was all about working and moving unfortunately her poor mom couldn't or wouldn't let them stay in one place for very long. Fate had been torturing him for what seemed forever and a day. So EJ the so-called party boy had mastered the art of hiding and projecting the right persona. Dreams were all Haliee really had but soon real soon she'll finally understand everything in her life has brought her to this moment.

Another fantastic book by the talented Cassie Laelyn. This is EJ's book. He learns about himself is able to finally move on and learn that not all his visions are that - visions. He meets and protects Hailee, who as much as he deigns it, they are mates. The question is...What does Fate have installed? Do yourself a favor and download a copy of this entertaining book. You will not regret it. A page turner, with plenty of action.

This read is something I was overdue for and had no idea. Cassie & EJ’s story is one that I enjoyed thoroughly. The rollercoaster of a ride had me hooked and I found myself relating to Cassie in having experienced the constant movement which prevented her from being about to really have roots anywhere. All in all she and EJ were characters that even amongst what they’ve been dealt with, they continue on.
