He dreams of owning a ranch. She needs a fiancé pronto. Can the cowboy and the debutante find common ground? Or will their shot at happily-ever-after get stomped to smithereens before it even has a chance to begin?
Lucas Romeo has no time for love. He’s been down that road before, and it didn’t end well. When his sister Lexi fixes him up on a blind date with her friend Magnolia, things take a disastrous turn. Lucas has no intention of ever going out with Magnolia again—not if she were the last woman on earth. Forget that she’s stunningly beautiful. She’s also spoiled and entitled, the kind of woman who wouldn’t last a day on a ranch.
Then, Magnolia makes Lucas a deal he can’t refuse …
Jennifer loves reading and writing clean romance. She believes that happily ever after is not just for stories. Jennifer enjoys interior design, rollerblading, clogging, jogging, and chocolate. In Jennifer’s opinion there are few ills that can’t be solved with a warm brownie and scoop of vanilla-bean ice cream. Jennifer grew up in rural Alabama and loved living in a town where “everybody knows everybody.” Her love for writing began as a young teenager when she wrote stories for her high school English teacher to critique. Jennifer has a BA in English and Social Sciences from Brigham Young University Hawaii where she served as Miss BYU Hawaii. Before becoming an author, she worked as the owner and editor of a monthly newspaper named The Senior Times. She now lives in the Rocky Mountains with her family and spends her time writing and doing all of the wonderful things that make up the life of a busy wife and mother.
What happens when a prickly cowboy meets the belle of the ball?
I love the Romeo family and briefly met Magnolia in the last book, One Singing Bachelorette. Lucas is a grumpy, stubborn cowboy and when his sister matches him up with her friend, Magnolia, fireworks immediately explode--but not in the way one would expect. This explosive connection was fiery and entertaining, especially because it jump starts a delightful tale that captivated me.
I love the way Youngblood writes these characters. Their dynamic personalities light up the pages and all though there are some prickly and crusty exteriors, hearts of gold are beneath the surfaces--and that goes for both of them.
This enemies-to-love match was intriguing, especially with their secret background and the interesting reason for them coming together. With Christmas magic, a rigid grandfather, an eccentric and colorful woman, an ex-boyfriend...and don't forget a snowstorm...my heart was taken on a remarkable journey and I enjoyed every minute of it.

This is a sweet story that brings two strong-willed people together.
Magnolia has been sweet on Lucas since she was a little girl. Things didn't work out when they dated years later and they went their separate ways. Now she needs a fiance pronto and Lucas dreams of a ranch. Together they make plans for their future, but there is someone who doesn't want to see them live a happy life together.
This story was a pleasure to read. I breezed right through it. The characters were so good together and I really wanted them to find a HEA. There are some quirky characters they meet along the way, that I really enjoyed! This is a book that you want to read just for the joy of reading. It takes place during the Christmas season. Snuggle up with a blanket and hot chocolate and enjoy!

We were first introduced to Magnolia in "The Singing Bachelor" and not sure how to take her. She seemed "entitled." Only in her own story she seemed more likable. Thankfully, she dumped Roman, the one who Lexi wasn't sure about the first time meeting him at the fair since he gave her a once over, even being with Magnolia and her standing right next to him! Now, however, she doesn't just want a fiancee. She needs one! She refuses to even consider Roman and his cheating ways. So she calls her best friend Lexi to see if she can help. What she doesn't expect is to find Lexi has set her up with her brother Lucas! What Lexi doesn't know is that Magnolia and Lucas have history. What is it? Will Lucas help her out in her time of great need? What happens when Roman tries to weasel his way back into her life? How will her grandfather and her grandmother's attorney Eric react? What about her own father, Oscar? Who is Lillian, and how does she somehow save the day? Only one way to find out is to read this great story by Jennifer Youngblood! You will love every word! ❤️
This was such a great Christmas romance. I haven't read one book of Jennifer Youngblood's that I haven't loved. This has everything, romance, suspense and clean sizzle. I love how everything ties together and the characters from previous books are involved. It's like reading about friends. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author for the sole purpose of reading it. I share my honest opinion because I want to.
Such a sweet Christmas read! Magnolia and Lucas seemed doomed from the start. His sister Lexie could see something they couldn't though. I loved watching them discover their feelings and conquer the forces that opposed them. The beautiful Christmas spirit they unexpectedly stumbled upon helped Lucas and Magnolia to recognize their feeling for one another. Such a great addition to the Romeo family series!
The amount of unique and utterly unforgettable characters in this really made the story. I mean we are talking about far left field out of there. Magnolia’s family gave the term “controlling” a new dimension. This story really did take me on such a crazy ride I wasn’t sure where things were going. It all ends good and well even after the large rockslide of obstacles. It’s a fun story with a crazy level at moderate. Rating: PG, clean
Another great book in the Romeo Family romance story. This book tells the story of how a young girl who will be 27 on her birthday and according to her grandmother’s will, she has to be married in order to collect her inheritance. She meets a young man and they fall in love only to have her grandfather say he is not worthy of her but her ex is until they find out who he really is. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
A fun story with a cranky cowboy and a desperate debutante who needs a husband. Though they dated in the past and it ended because of a silly misunderstanding, the sparks are still there years later. But both are nursing broken hearts. Travelingbbto her grandfather's home they meet some interesting people who help them understand what love really is.
With the way things are going in the US, I have found I've found reading Christmas stories brings me joy. Between Covid 19 and our political unrest, who knows what will become of our country. So I'm escaping into Christmas. I loved how they got together and then realized they really were in love. I like the woman who hid her treasures. Great book, thanks.
Magnolia and Lucas reconnect after a long time. Can these two overcome past hurts to find a fulfilling future? What about a time limit for love? A trust fund in the wings? What if a conniving ex- boyfriend comes back into the picture with ulterior motives to sink his hands into Magnolia's inheritance. Read it to find out what happens:) Happy Reading!
I truly loved Lucas. I was happy to see him overcome his self doubts and his family insecurities. Magnolia had a strong personality. I was happy to see that she was a person with integrity, but also willing to accept Lucas as he was with all his faults. This is a great, fun, clean romance.
I am loving this collections of storylines that connect so many characters from other boos. It like hearing family stories. The characters are strong individuals . They face a it of challenges but they come through them with a little help a special friend. It was a fun journey.
I loved this book. It was a great one to read. The characters were great and it showed that love is more important than money. It isn't things that bring lasting joy. The relationships we have with the Lord and with our family and friends is what brings lasting joy.
It only matters what you become along the way -a line @ the end of the story & a good life truth. Stuff doesn't matter as much as character, honesty & good personal ethics. She struggles to know who she really is -inside; what does she truly want? The story shows her progression from wishing, hoping emptiness to knowing. Then she finds courage.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my honest and voluntary opinion. Lucas Romeo has no time for love and wants his own ranch instead of working for his uncle. Lexi’s friend high society diva Magnolia needs a fiancé to marry before her birthday in order to obtain her inheritance. Lucas and Lexi must first convince her grandfather they are serious. A story of love and acceptance.
This story is sooo different than what the cover portrays. Have you seen his hair? I actually loved this story and the many characters. I loved the chemistry between the princess and the cowboy. This is a really sweet, clean romance.
This is a refreshing and heartwarming romance with vulnerable and endearing characters that will steal your heart and touch your soul from the very beginning til the end.
Luke always wanted his own ranch. He didn't want to work under his cousin forever. Magnolia needed to get married to get her inheritance. While they had dated before things didn't end well. Great story.
Man, the story might be cute, but the English language has pronouns, please use them!! I got sick of seeing a sentence start with the first name of the character she was describing... after 6 short sentences in a row, I gave up!
This author has the gift of story telling that keeps the reader engaged! The characters are designed and developed to either love or hate! Super supporting characters . Can two people with a past pick back up and resolve their issues?
Magnolia and Lucas' story was so fun to read a few laugh out loud moments and of course a twist in the plot made it difficult to put down. Old Lillian sure put her spin on things. This is a sweet, happily ever after that you shouldn't miss.
Lucas and Magnolia have a past, a present, and a future. Honesty builds relationships and dishonesty tears them apart. These two find out what it takes to have a budding relationship last. read and laugh snd enjoy!
Most of the time when you read a series with more than 2 or3 books they are about the same. Not the Romeo Family. I have read 8 and I am surprised by everyone. Great writing Jennifer Youngblood.
I purchased a copy of One Fake Fiance by Jennifer Youngblood and this review was given freely. I loved William's colorful character and the heart warming ending.
Well, love certainly does find a way. Magnolia would inherit her trust fund if she married the day after Christmas. With her long time friend, Roman, that would happen…except she saw him out with another woman. Is $10 million dollars worth that? I think not.
Magnolia plans to marry Roman two days after Christmas until she found out that he was cheating on her. To receive her trust fund, Magnolia has to marry before her twenty seventh birthday. Magnolia is surprised to find out that her friend's suggestion for replacing Roman is her friend's brother Lucas. At first, both Magnolia and Lucas aren't too sure about the match but love always finds a way. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. I love this sweet romance. I also love reading about their trip with their unexpected stop at the small town of Remember. This was such an enjoyable read that I stayed up late so I could finish reading the book. This is definitely a book that I will reread in the future.
