Kolam is an Indian art form traditionally drawn using rice flour on floors of houses or in courtyards. This story is about a little girl, Bhoomi, who falls in love with her mother's kolams and decides to learn the art of drawing kolams. Join Bhoomi in her quest!
If you want to introduce your children to the roots of our way of life, look nowhere beyond Bhoomi learns to draw a Kolam. With beautiful illustrations, the author takes us through the eyes of a little girl Bhoomi who is fascinated by the art of Kolam (a traditional form of drawing outside houses). By listening to Bhoomi’s curious monologue with her mother, we the audience go through a journey of discovery! For kids and adults alike, this is a super read! I hope the author continues with more tales from Bhoomi’s view in the future!
It's a superb story and in very simple words, best for the babies to read out to. I am so glad I came across this book on FB & immediately downloaded on kindle. Eagerly waiting for paperback version. The joy that the Bhoomi has while jumping over it & excitement of learning to draw the Kolam is really where a child's innocence lies & her try to learn to make one. Its special for me because its the first story I read to my 2 months old daughter & we did enjoy it together esp. "One Two Three Jump.."part. Looking forward to more such stories.
