Ah…...a truly sweet Christmas story. I enjoyed every word. And although it’s book six in the series it works well as a stand alone so get a copy, have some hot chocolate, and relax with this heartwarming tale.

I’ll admit I don’t typically read millionaire stories; I just don’t prefer them. But this one was well worth the read. Becca and Daniel made me laugh in their own ways. Becca is so curious, and Daniel is trying to be reclusive but it’s not working so well. Miles apart in their desires, can they become friends? It was fun to watch the story unfold.

Author Vannetta Chapman created some really intriguing characters, and put them in a really intriguing story line. If you enjoy Amish fiction, and especially Christmas stories, then I can highly recommend this one.

I loved the story plot and the characters of this book. The story flowed smoothly and I enjoyed the dialog and easy banter that went on between the two main characters. The theme of the book as I saw it would be make the best of where God plants you in your life. Be content and love and respect your family . In this book the characters had good and happy times but they also suffered setbacks and hard times too. The people of their community never missed the opportunity to help each other when needed.
Daniel Glick is a young unmarried Amish man. He comes from a dysfunctional family in Pennsylvania. Daniel and his family were Amish millionaires. Tired of being used for his money Daniel decided to embrace the life of a poor man and move to Indiana. Wanting to look the part of a poor farmer he bought a rundown house and half a barn that was ready to collapse . All he really wanted was peace and quietness and to be left alone. What he didn't count on was the large family who owned the other side of the barn or their beautiful daughter who had a curious mind and made it her business to find out who the stranger that owned the other side of the barn really was.
Becca Schuartz came from a very poor Amish family. Her main goal was to find ways to earn money to help her family have a better life. She was naive and would often find that instead of earning money she would be on the losing end of the deal. She had a driving sense of curiosity that often kept her from minding her own business when it came to her new neighbor Daniel Glick. Life was anything but peaceful for him as Becca would constantly question him about his life. She was determined he was hiding something and she would do whatever she could to find out what it was.
I would recommend this book to readers of Amish Fiction . Fans of Vannetta Chapman won't want to miss this book.

What an enjoyable story! I liked the uniqueness of the situation between Daniel and Becca. They both felt burdened by financial situations. Becca struggled with coming from a poor family and Daniel believed that an abundance of wealth caused his family to splinter. I really enjoyed watching the awakening of both Becca and Daniel as they began to understand what was important in life and what was not.

Becca and Daniel seemed like complete opposites for the first portion of the book, however, it became clear that they were not so unlike each other as it first appeared. They had a sweet chemistry that built throughout the pages of this book. I also really liked seeing how well Daniel began to fit into the Schwartz family. I definitely enjoyed this addition to the Indiana Amish Brides series.

My New Favorite Amish Romance

This is my new favorite Amish romance. The characters were do interesting and the author drew you in immediately. Even the animals had great personalities. Just a really fun book to read.

The Amish Christmas Secret is a sweet inspirational story written by Vannetta Chapman. I have always enjoyed stories by this author and this one was amazing. The characters are likeable and realistic. The storyline really makes you feel part of the story. This story touches on two ways to view the Amish, those who don't have much and those who are wealthy beyond belief. The author has done a terrific job showing how each has dealt with their personal struggles.

Becca Schwartz comes from a poor family and is always scheming to come up with a way for her family to be less poor. Daniel Glick buys a run down farm next door to Becca but he is by no means poor. He is a secret millionaire. As these two struggle to find their way in life events such as illness, a devastating fire, and revealing a secret cause many trials for them to deal with. The author has done a great job weaving these neighbors together.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

Not only is this a Love Inspired read, it's by Vannetta Chapman and it's Christmas mystery!
So many good things in one small book.
After so many crazy things going on in this world of ours it's wonderful to begin to read love stories about Christmas. Christmas seems to be a season of hope and love.
Also, this is the 6th book in the Indiana Brides. I went back and read stories 1 & 2 and realized that each story is about a different couple in Indiana. So I jumped right into this story. This is the story of an Amish millionaire, Daniel, and a finically strapped Amish woman, Becca, struggling to make ends meet with a comical rooster to boot. The mystery and the rooster made be chuckle as I read this fun book.
I loved it!
Make sure you grab a copy of this inexpensive book to jump start your Christmas reading!

This is one of my favourite Christmas reads this year. It's funny and thoughtful and full of faith and showcases the true meaning of Christmas in such an inspiring way.

I absolutely adore Becca though Daniel doesn't take a shine to her right away. " Becca Schwartz was free-spirited, energetic, and irritating." (p 32) Honestly, I laughed so much over those very Becca qualities and the situations they put her in. And poor long suffering Daniel who just wants to be left in peace. Ha! That's not happening ever since he moved next door to the spirited Schwartz clan and it's joke-spewing patriach!

It isn't every day I get to read an Amish millionaire story...well, I don't think I ever have before The Amish Christmas Secret and I'm impressed by the ingenuity of pairing extreme wealth with plain living. As you can imagine, there are all kinds of pitfalls which Chapman delves into with insight and compassion. On so many levels -- both from Becca's 'impoverished' perspective yearning to make life easier for her family and Daniel's harsh experience with how sudden wealth can have a negative impact. Lots of food for thought.

A charming holiday romance full of laughter and faith and the joy that comes from keeping Gotte at the heart of it all.

First, I have to say this: I almost always refuse to read a book that has anything to do with a “millionaire” in either the storyline or title. However, I knew that if Vannetta Chapman wrote this book it would be an entertaining one, so I made an exception to my rule.

And I’m glad I did! I absolutely loved the character of Becca Schwartz in this book. Becca is spunky; cares deeply for her family and friends; is a generous person and always ready to share what she has—-but she’s also filled with curiosity. If there’s a mystery to be solved, she’s going to solve it. So when Daniel, their new neighbor, seems to be hiding something, Becca’s doing everything she can to find out what he’s hiding. Daniel does not want anyone in this Amish community to know he’s a millionaire, so he buys the worst farm in the area. Daniel, however, has underestimated Becca. As circumstances keep bringing them together, Daniel and Becca both have much to learn about how they view themselves and allowing God to direct their paths.

This sweet Amish romance will make you smile. As you finish, you may find yourself looking around to see how you, like Becca, can share the blessings that God has given you. This is the perfect book to read during the Christmas season, but it has a message for us to remember all throughout the year.

Vannetta Chapman has done it again - given her readers another delicious read that's more than just an engaging Amish romance! My favorite quote is good advice that I've had to relearn recently: "Enjoy today. We're only able to experience each day once, and it'll pass in the blink of an eye." Becca and Daniel were headed full-steam in the opposite directions when they first met as new neighbors. She chafed at the poverty of her parents' large family; he resented the superficiality of life spoiled by easy riches. Each helped the other face an unexpected trial that taught them to value life as God has ordained it. They learned to live life simply, generously, gratefully....and it doesn't get any better than that. I finished this book with a sigh of contentment, and I bet you will, too.

The Amish Christmas Secret was a masterful and pivot story that kept me engaged from the start. Becca was determined to fine a project that would earn money to help her large family to have a better life. Daniel was secretive but definitely attracted to Becca after meeting her in the barn which he discovered was partly Becca’s family barn too. There are plenty of ups and downs, twists and turns that made this an amazing feel good read. The magic of the Christmas message is beautifully interwoven that made this my favorite by Chapman in her Love Inspired Indiana Amish Brides series.

The quotes, humor from Samuel Schwartz, discovering life is truly the way you view it with God’s love and perspective through these characters brought plenty of smiles and laughs. I highly recommend fans of Chapman and Amish fiction order a copy of The Amish Christmas Secret for a heartwarming story this upcoming Christmas season, or really any time of the year this is a delightful tale to read.

This is a sweet Amish romance written by one of my favorite Amish authors. I loved the two strong personalities that appear in both Daniel and Becca as they get to know each in their own way. Daniel is holding back, while Becca is open and caring. I even loved the appearances of "Cola".

I got a kick out of Becca's "projects" and her and sweet personality. The characters were such that you could really enjoy them as they interacted with one another. I love how the community was caring and helpful. That is something special that would be great asset to all communities coming together.

This was a very enjoyable book and a definite feel-good story, which is a great thing for Christmas and this year of 2020!

As normal,another great book by Vannette Chapman.
In The Amish Christmas Secret, there is a secret
that Daniel is keeping from everyone in the community.
He has told the Bishop about his inheritance but no
one else. The ups and downs in a large family has Becca
trying different ways to make extra money to help the
family, from raising chickens to growing hemp,
something she didn't know it was.
When a fire takes their home before Christmas, Daniel
finally tells Becca his secret and she is upset
with him.But after spending Christmas day with her
large family she forgives him. This is a must read book.
There are some spots you might cry a little but all
good tears. Fantastic book

THE AMISH CHRISTMAS SECRET by Vannetta Chapman is the sixth book in the Indiana Amish Brides series. It’s the delightful, heart-warming and often comical story of Becca Schwartz, an Amish woman still living with her parents on their farm, and Daniel Glick, who recently purchased the run down farm on the adjacent property.

Becca loves her family and although she doesn’t want for herself, she’s always trying to help others. To do this, she’s always coming up with ideas for new projects to help her family financially. Most of them not only don’t work, but some have actually had less than desirable endings. Like when she bought a rooster to raise and sell organic eggs and chicks only to have bought the most contrary rooster around. The only other thing that takes up more of her thinking time is her curiosity. Her new neighbor’s secrets – like why he bought such a rundown farm if he could afford such an expensive horse, why would he repair the barn while willingly sleep in a sleeping bag on the back porch of the house in cold weather, or why he refuses to give out any information about himself – makes her curiosity work overtime to find out the answers. Is he secretive or is he hiding something?

Daniel’s family had inherited a large sum of money. It not only made them millionaires (something very rare among the Amish), but it destroyed what little bit of family life they had. To escape their bickering way of life and the ill effects of having money, he packed up a few meager belongings and bought a track of land just outside Shipshewana, IN. He knew that everything about it was in horrible shape, but he also knew he had the skills, funds and time to fix it up. The isolation and honest work sounded like a little bit of heaven to him and he was ready for the challenge. The main thing was that no one was to know about his past life or that he actually had funds in the bank. He was just going live the plain life and enjoy his solitude. That is until he finds that a shared barn was half owned by Becca’s family and she was not going to be content to leave him alone.

When Becca and Daniel’s paths keep bringing them together, will an illness, a tragic fire and time together have them seeing the good in the other instead of what sets them off? Can Daniel learn the value of family, through the example of the Schwartz’ and see the type family he always wished his had been? By learning to accept help, can he learn the true meaning of community where other expect nothing in return for their help other than the hope you will pay it forward when there’s a need? Can Becca learns to accept Daniel as a neighbor, fellow church member and not to second guess his every action while understand why he keep his past and his riches a secret? Will she finally learn that her family may be financially poor, but they are rich in so many other ways?

THE AMISH CHRISTMAS SECRET is a fabulous well-written Christmas story that Vannetta Chapman. It’s a story of hope, curiosity, compassion, unselfishness, helping someone just because it’s the right thing to do, finding out what you have been searching for might already be what you have, sacrifices made in the name of love aren’t really sacrifices at all, finding out you can’t run from your past because it is part of you and true love. It’s woven with a wonderful thread of faith that can be applied to one’s life the whole year through. It speaks volumes about how the best presents don’t come in a box or wrapped up with a bow, they aren’t bought from a store or found under a tree. They are the blessings of family, community and faith. You are bound to fall in love with Becca and Daniel just like I did. How wonderful it would be to have someone like the Schwartz as neighbors. Loved this story from the first page to the last. This is the type of story that I can see myself reading every holiday season just for the reminder. Definitely gets a FIVE STAR rating!

Definitely a female voice, from the other side of the barn. Poisonous snakes were rare in Indiana, but it was possible that his neighbor had encountered a copperhead or timber rattler. He’d never forgive himself if she was bitten while he stood on his side of the barn enjoying his solitude.
He threw one glance back toward his home, then sighed and walked around the barn. If someone had asked him to guess what he might find there, he wouldn’t in a hundred years have guessed correctly.
A young Amish woman—Plain dress, apron, kapp—was holding a feed bucket in one hand and a rake in the other, attempting to fend off a rooster. The rooster was a beautiful Brahma, over two feet tall, with a red comb and golden cape. The next day, the local bishop—an old fellow named Saul Lapp who looked to be in his eighties—gave him a ride to Tim Beiler’s place. Tim was apparently the go-to guy in Shipshewana, Indiana, if one was looking to purchase a buggy horse.
Daniel didn’t even attempt to negotiate down the price of the mare. Constance was dark gray along her mane and from her hindquarters to her hooves. The rest of her coat was nearly silver. She was more muscled and longer bodied than the horse he’d owned in Pennsylvania, standing fifteen hands high and weighing in at 825 pounds. An American saddlebred, she was three years old and presented a nice gait. More important, her name perfectly matched her disposition.
He’d purchased the worst farm in Shipshewana.

The Amish Christmas Secret by Vannetta Chapman has Daniel Glick moving to Shipshewana, Indiana for a fresh start. He has a secret that he does not wish to share with the people in his new community. Daniel wants seclusion and peace which is why he purchased a property far from town. The house and barn need an extensive amount of work (a stiff wind could knock them over), but Daniel is looking forward to the challenge. He did not count on his neighbor’s second eldest child, Becca Schwartz. Daniel shares a barn with the Schwartz family and Becca uses their half for her projects. She is curious about Daniel who tends to avoid answering her questions. He hopes that Becca will take a hint. Daniel is unprepared for Becca’s determination, insatiable curiosity, and her desire to protect her family. When Daniel begins to fall for Becca, will his secret come between them? The Amis Christmas Secret is a fun story. The author created great characters. They are interesting and realistic. I enjoyed getting to know Becca and Daniel. They made this a humorous story (especially Becca). Becca is a woman with an abundance of ideas. She wants to earn money to help her family, but she is a little naïve (more than a little). I laughed often while reading this entertaining Amish tale. Carl, the rooster, will have you in stitches. There are good life lessons in this story. We get to see that it does not matter if you are poor or wealthy, we all have our problems. You do not need money to make you happy. Happiness is found within us and with those we love. I was thankful for the epilogue that nicely wrapped up Becca and Daniel’s tale. I was sorry for this sweet story to end. I would love a story featuring each of Becca’s siblings (there are eight siblings). While The Amish Christmas Secret is the 6th Indiana Amish Brides Novel, it can be read as a standalone. I have enjoyed each book in the series. The Amish Christmas Secret is an amusing Amish tale with a new neighbor, a raging rooster, a happy horse, a ramshackle house, money making machinates, rowdy relations, and a caring community.

The Amish Christmas Secret by Vannetta Chapman was a good book and I enjoyed it a lot. I’ve always Been one to love the Amish Christmas stories and this one will not disappoint I’m sure you will be just as drawn into Becca and Daniel’s story as I was, after all how can you not be pulled into a storyline when it includes a young woman trying so hard to help her family at the same time being a nosy neighbor to the ever so good looking guy next door who wants nothing more than his solitude or does he? I highly recommend this book.

Becca a young Amish woman lives with her Dad And Mom and several siblings on a run down farm.She is always trying to find get rich quickly schemes to help her family that live in poverty.A young Amish man in his 20's named Daniel moves into a run down farm next to them.Neither one of them is really looking for romance but it finds them anyway as the 2 families have to share a barn.They teach each other about life but does there romance stand a chance if he seems to be as poor as her family and she doesn't want to be poor like that.Is Daniel hiding a big secret from her that will keep them apart?Does this relationship have a chance?

Just when I thought Vannetta Chapman couldn't write any better she does!! What a delightful book!! The plot was awesome and I loved Carl the bad tempered rooster. The ending reminding me once again that God always provides.

Loved the book, Loved the Characters, Loved the Storyline.
A different Christmas story, with some turns and twists woven in.
Vannetta never seems to amaze me with her good Amish stories. Just enough goodness, sadness, curiosity, and whatever it seems to take to keep me reading, ...Just can't stop here to go to bed until I read 1 more....or was it two or three chapters?
Always disappointed that the books end too quickly!
