It Will Happen

Rate this book
How many times have you heard the words, “It will happen?”

For Laura and her husband, Scoop, the phrase that once brought comfort, hope and reassurance began to lose all positive meaning.

When they first started trying for a baby, they had no idea what they would be in for. After the heartbreak of each loss, when the world around her frustratingly seemed to carry on like normal, Laura struggled to cope with her inability to do something others seemed to find so easy. In this candid memoir, she shares her isolating experiences and talks openly and honestly about how she and her husband navigated the harsh realities of their rollercoaster journey to parenthood.

I started following Laura on Instagram after I experienced a missed miscarriage last year with my first pregnancy. I saw her book being promoted and preordered it ASAP.

Having a miscarriage is such a harrowing experience, Laura is such a brave lady for sharing her story and in doing so helps you to realise that you are not alone. I resonated with the 'ugly feelings', and lots of the thoughts that Laura talks about having.

This book should be read by those who have experienced miscarriage and for the family and friends supporting.

I am part of the worst girl gang ever, one that I don't want to be a part of, but one that I'm glad I found.
After reading this book I will always have hope in my heart that 'it will happen' 💖

A powerful story of Laura's very personal journey over many years documenting her memoirs of multiple miscarriage leading to her wonderful Rainbow Baby. I have never suffered a miscarriage but I know friends who have. This book has not only educated me on such a sensitive topic but has also shown me how to start conversations sensitively. It's also reinforced the importance of talking and sharing so you're not alone going through challenging times in your life. Laura's story details the highs the lows and everything in-between.

Laura is the co-creator of the worst girl gang ever and I found her story very hopeful, as I was somewhat familiar with her story already. The differences between recurrent pregnancy loss treatment and resources between the US and UK is interesting, it's hard to imagine something like Tommy's existing in the US, with all our political baggage around pregnancy as it is, but I wish it did.

Please read if you have been through recurrent miscarriage or miscarriage. I can relate so much to Laura and how she feels throughout the book minus the rainbow baby (haven’t got there yet) thank you for sharing xx

An absolutely brilliant and brutally honest book about pregnancy loss and the emotions that go with it. I've not started my baby-making journey yet but I felt this book has really helped me prepare for what might be ahead.

Since losing my daughter six months ago, it’s been hard to relate to others. While many have gone through a pregnancy loss, it’s still somewhat taboo and not talked about regularly. This book was very relatable and helpful. It makes me feel like I can continue on this journey. I learned about the field of reproductive immunology and am eager to bring this topic up with my doctor.
