3.25 stars: a beast in the streets and the sheets
Ah. I love how OTT writes JP/OTT Hs who become obsessed with their h’s.
Elovissa’s supposed to get married. Her parents are marrying her off to a gross, greasy, ugly older man who’s rumored to have k!lled his last wife. If she doesn’t, she’ll be forced into slavery. The day of the wedding, she manages to escape with her trusty horse Pegasus.
But then gets captured by slavers days later 😬 and gets abused by these slavers 😐.
Kaeso’s a gladiator and just won his 98th match. He’s also enslaved but treated very well because he keeps winning people money. He’s a beast and he’s very confident in himself. Once he wins his 100th match, he’ll be released and given his freedom. Because he’s so good, he gets offered women left and right. But he always turns them down 👏🏻.
And then he gets presented with 6 virgins, one of them is Elovissa… and for the first time, he actually wants someone.
She’s his and no one’s gonna take her away from him.
I loooove how OTT he becomes. He’s JP and protective 🥹 but also 🥵. His dirty thoughts and mouth are just 🤤.
I love how much of a beast he is in the streets and in the sheets 😅😉. Jeeezus. Elovissa’s lucky 🔥.
Even when there’s betrayal, Kaeso’s proves just how worthy, manly, and alpha he is 💅. Don’t you mess with him.
And the epilogues 🥹 sooo soo cute lol and also 🔥
I wish we had more details of their lives in the epilogue. I don’t remember if we ever found out what happened with her horrible parents either or the man she was supposed to marry.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read.

Elovissa is suppose to marry Manius an older man in her village but she escapes and runs away. She is discovered and taken by a slaver. Kaeso is a gladiator and he has a deal with the emperor that if he wins one hundred times he will be set free. After his match they bring him some women. Kaeso doesn’t want them. But as the women were leaving he saw Elovissa and it was love at first sight for him.
I love historical love stories and this one was great! I was so happy Kaeso and Elovissa were able to escape their horrible lives and find happiness with each other and their 6 kids! Great obsessed hero and sweet heroine. Super steamy and sweet. I highly recommend!

My first gladiator story!
This was a lot different than the stories I have been reading. Definitely the first story I’ve read about a gladiator.
-no cheating
-virgin heroine but it’s not known if hero was a virgin. I wish it was made clear
-violence - fighting and h is treated as a slave. No sexual violence
-great epilogue 16 years later

This one was pretty fast pace. And steam.
Idk this one I couldn't connect with i tried so hard.. maybe it was the old school gladiator type vibe?

The treatment of slavery and the characters actions revolving around it in this story is really not handled well. It should’ve been more nuanced, and there was also a lot of internalized misogyny. I did liked the ott gladiator stuff though.

Different...but oh so good!
Gotta be honest, haven’t read too many romances set in Ancient Rome. And this was definitely a deviation from Miss OTTs other books. But I’m definitely not complaining!
Having a huge, scarred, nearly savage gladiator as the hero...who claims his sweet and gentle prize is enough to make me swoon down three sets of stairs! Loved it! The hero’s devotion and instant determination to rip apart the world for his female was enough to melt my heart. And then there were the sex scenes, which melted my kindle!
Also loved that the hero wasn’t a mansk@nk!! His past isn’t mentioned, but it’s apparent he doesn’t act like a dog. Heroine is a virgin, belongs only to the hero. There’s no cheating, no abuse, one tiny scene were the heroine is threatened—but not to worry, there’s a giant gladiator to fix the problem! HEA with epilogue many years out.

I think it’s time for me to take a break from short stories and go back to full length novels.
This was alright. If you are an expert in either Roman or Greek history or mythology, this will be very painful to read, as both are twisted up together and claimed as Roman.
Also, the man she’s supposed to marry at the beginning. I’m not sure what his name is because the spelling was constantly changing.
And I’m just not down with a penis bigger than a forearm. It’s not sexy.
With all that being said, the sex was so underwhelming. I don’t think any of this is worth the thirty minutes it’ll take to read it.

Elovisse está a punto de ser casada con un hombre viejo y horrible. Le suplica a sus padres que no la obliguen pero ellos siguen empujando. Así que en cuanto encuentra una oportunidad se escapa, solo que no acaba mejor, si no que acaba siendo una esclava. Pero cuando el mayor luchador de toda Roma pone sus ojos en Elovisse su destino está sellado, y ella no se opone para nada.
Este libro ha sido durito eh. A ver nada exagerado no penséis además siendo corto tampoco puede ser demasiado verdad? Pero no sé, tanto un protagonista como el otro tenían unos pasados muy difíciles y dado la época que era tampoco me extraña, así que me ha emocionado aún más que tuvieran su libertad y su feliz para siempre 😍.
Obviamente recomendadisimo para pasar el rato, cuando no he recomendado yo a esta mujer? 😏

After every fight his master offers him a woman and he declines every time. On this day he is offered six and is angered that his master does not leave him alone.
But his forceful bellow to remove them from his cage is enough to send them scurrying all but one, a little tiny girl with no fear but curiosity in her eyes.

Elovissa is arranged to marry a man she doesn’t love, so she runs away. But she is soon caught and enslaved in the flesh trade, until she’s sold as a virgin to a handsome gladiator. Kaesco is big and fierce and has not lost any matches as of yet. He is close to earning his freedom, but when he meets Elovissa, he redoubles his efforts to get free. When the two are threatened with separation, Kaesco must face his biggest opponents yet.
Sorta fun read. The erotica is good. Characters are nice but one-dimensional. Commitment to the historical theme of ancient Rome is so-so, with sporadic modern and archaic wording and such. I didn’t mind because this is primarily erotica, so you can’t expect too much.
I’m not going to keep this on my shelf but I would recommend it.
Sorta fun read. The erotica is good. Characters are nice but one-dimensional. Commitment to the historical theme of ancient Rome is so-so, with sporadic modern and archaic wording and such. I didn’t mind because this is primarily erotica, so you can’t expect too much.
I’m not going to keep this on my shelf but I would recommend it.

I usually steer clear of historical romances because they tend to bore me. But Olivia's? She kept me engaged and wanting to see how Kaseo and Elovissa's fate turned out. I loved how Olivia kept with her over the top alpha male character and all the steaminess that her stories have, but I really love how she stepped out of her own box and wrote something like this - completely new and different from her past stories. This is the perfect example as to why she is my favorite quick read romance authors. I can't wait to see what she brings to my kindle next.

This is definitely something different for me seeing it takes place in Ancient Rome... but the story is still 100% Olivia T turner, only this time the OTT alpha is a gladiator fighting to the death to save and protect what is his! Both slaves, both wanting their freedom but both not willing to part with each other to gain that... so what’s a gladiator to do when his Venus is being sold yet again... seek and destroy all and anyone that stands in his way...

This book is exactly why I fell in love with this author, it’s total escapism at its finest.
Kaeso is the fiercest gladiator a champion, but he’s thinking about his promised freedom that’s getting closer, the family he’ll be able to have, then Elovissa is presented to him for winning his last fight and he knows she’s meant to be his, but is freedom as close as promised.
This book is the epitome of everything I’m looking for in a read, I want to be taken to another place and OTT does it every single time.

Never disappoints
OTT does it again!! This book was SO good! It was different than her other stories, but it was even better!! A gladiator fighting for the love of his life?? What could be better than that? Different story, but same Alpha male love and a strong female lead! I absolutely love Olivia T. Turner's Over The Top love stories!!! I've read them all and can't wait for the next book!
