You're The Best Part
Gianni Life! It’s been one let down after another but I’m not one to complain. I’ve lost more than I’ve gained but still, things could be worse. I’ve lived my best life until life started getting the best of me. With no place to live and only a car to call my own, I’ve had to make some tough decisions. I learned at a young age not to depend on anyone, family included. Instead of crying about what I didn’t have, I made the best out of what I did have. Love was nowhere in the cards for me before I met HIM. I tried to run but I was never fast enough. After a while, I slowed down and let him catch up with me. He didn’t know my past but he didn’t judge me once he learned about it. He had my back, even when I wasn’t around. That’s loyalty. He had my best interest even when my own family didn’t. That’s love. He told me his innermost thoughts and I told him mine. That’s intimacy. Even after having his own heart broken once before, he still opened up and let me in. That’s trust. I was a small piece of the puzzle that he was trying to put together. And as he always said, I was the best part.

This is a new author for me and my first read in her catalog! Chenell did not disappoint at all! “You’re the Best Part” had the perfect amount of everything that makes a story enjoyable and entertaining. I enjoyed this book so much that I’ve downloaded a few other books to read by her.
The story embarks on the journey to HEA for Jacobi “Nix” Nixon and Gianni. Gianni had a very good life growing up but things took a drastic turn for the worst when her mother died and then 3 years later her grandmother followed. After losing the two people who meant the world to her she ended up homeless and sleeping in shelters or her car. Despite having family she found out quickly that she could only depend on herself and would never be placed in a situation that would allow what someone was doing for her to be held over her head. She was strong and determined still going to school full time and working to maintain her basic needs. For her, her current circumstances were for a season and she had faith that better times were ahead.
Nix was a fresh college graduate and had just been handed the reigns to own his grandfathers construction business and night club. He was a motivated young man that had everything except the love of a woman to share it with. With the example of black love that he witnessed in the relationship of his grandparents he was ready to be a one woman man. One night the bottle girl that flew under the radar and minded the business that paid her worked his section and he instantly knew she’d be his.
I loved these two so much and they definitely had their fair share of snakes in the grass and hurdles but the one thing I appreciated most with this author was that they never broke up. They ensured every issue side by side and trusted each other. There was nothing that could be said of the other because the start of their relationship was built solid! I HIGHLY recommend this book! You will not be disappointed!

Another 5 star read
I can guarantee a 5 star read whenever Ms.Parker drops a new book and this one didn’t disappoint. I loved that after everything that Gianni went through she found the man of her dreams in Nix. Nix kept trying no matter how many times Gianni shut him down! I love a happy ending and when the underdog wins!! Great storyline.

This was my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. I enjoyed this book from start to finishing, loving the ride Gianni and Nix took me on.

A Must Read
It took me a couple of day's to write this review after I finished reading. I had to think hard because I didn't want to give away the storyline. The story is very detailed but not slow, long and drawn out. This was a great and interesting read. Gianni went through a lot. From losing two of the most important people in her life, to dealing with hateful, trifling, scandalous, and selfish family, learning to love with no conditions or restrictions. With family like Kori. You don't need enemies. Babyyyyy I cussed Kori trifling, sneaky, messy, and ill mannered behind out like she could hear me. That chile lie more than a rug too. I can see why Gianni disliked her brother Greg. He was a fulltime creep. Nix had to work overtime to get Gianni to open up. She was guarded as she should be. One thing I can say though is that everything she was going through. Gianni remained true to herself and reached her full potential even with the haters and naysayers whispering. I don't see how Nix didn't know Dior was a few fries short of a happy meal when they were together. Dior was conniving and manipulative. I felt a little sorry for how her father did her though but the drama she was trying to cause between Nix and Gianni was uncalled for. Dior made her bed and she had to lie in it. I laughed at Quick and Nichelle. They were hilarious but Quick pissed me off with what he did to Gianni. Nichelle was blunt and outspoken. Whew po Al!!! He was living life for everyone else except himself. I was floored when his truth came out but was happy when he decided to live in his truth because he was miserable and about to lose out on the best thing that happened to him.

Another GREAT READ
I am never a dissatisfied reader of Ms Parker. Gianni did everything right. Patience and living despite her circumstances and very humble and determined to get thru college. Her family. Not worth spitting on. But she did spit all over them. Especially sorry Kori , when she got with and married and had all his babies. He was so extra when he finally got his girl baking. Lol.. Also.. The lives of Al and Danny finally So got all the way happy when he finally accepted his truth about being gay.His mom so holier than though attitude and worried about herself, yep those pastors are the worst people sometimes she better not need them for anything. Danny was a pistol and played no games about Al and his daughter Alexa. Now to Dior... After all she did she did she should have left the state after her prison bid for her dads murder. Yes she had a rough life with him but she needed serious psychological evaluation serious. She lost everything and was a thief. Not just of Bud. But her sisters funds as well. Finally Nix.. What a good man with a great mind. And he helped Gianni mentally. He had a GREAT family dynamic his grandparents who raised him.. His biological mom was hilarious. His dad Quick. Hmmmm he could not be around him after what he did to Gianni over his brothers each really surprised he did not best his ass.. Whew.. Thanks Chenell for always writing great complete stories.. All characters have Closure....

You're the Best Part
Aww! I don't think I've read a book yet that I didn't love by Chenell. Gianni definitely had a story to tell and never allowed her circumstances to define her. Lawd knows I wanted Gianni to beat Kori down at least once. She took jealousy and lying to all new heights with all the bs she was doing. I liked Nix and how he lived by his own rules. His parents were a trip but his grandparents definitely raised him right. Dior was as dumb as they came. She messed up her relationship with Nix but couldn't seem to let go. She had a lot of nerve and her life quickly began to spiral. I liked Al and Danny and it was unfortunate that it took blackmail for Al to live in his truth. Nix had been giving good advice for the longest and Al never took heed until Dior decided to be underhanded. Greg's ole perverted ass got what he deserved right along with Ronnie and Biggie. I didn't agree with how Quick handled things but he was able to get the answers he needed. Heavy was looking out for Gianni without knowing the connection they had and she was finally able to meet more of her family as well. Gianni and Nix came from different backgrounds but they truly were the missing part that the other needed.

The best part indeed! *spoilers*
Let me just say... Chenell never disappoints! This book was by far one that kept my attention from the very first page. I thoroughly enjoyed the ups and downs and the drama. Gianni had it rough! Her cousin Kori really rubbed me the wrong way they entire story! She was a true snake, but karma had its way with her. I love how Nix pursued G. He didn’t hit her with the typical “I have to have you” vibe, instead he earned her piece by piece. He was a true gem and they both deserved one another.
Now that Dior, Greg and Quick.. whew Lawd! Dior was hurt and needed help! I can’t believe she killed her daddy and the other lengths she went through to get Nix. She was bogus! And Greg... he deserved a pine box! He was such a poison. I was shocked to see how Gianni’s past linked her to Nix’s family, but Quick wasn’t feeling her. His actions was extreme. I’m happy that he finally apologized and found peace too.
Overall.... this book was a breath of fresh air! I enjoyed the passion between the characters and how Gianni didn’t become a weak female because of her circumstances. Adding Al and Danny was a bonus!

This was really cute
This story was actually very cute and good, but hey it’s a Chanell Parker, so no surprises there at all.
Gianni was cute, strong, independent and smart. She had it hard and at the beginning, even after and her resilience is what kept her going and she got rewarded well at the end for all of her patience.
Jacobi “Nix” is bae all the way. I was worried that he wouldn’t be right, but he was more than that. Alpha, strong, educated and boss like...
This was a touchy story where several areas was just touched upon. There was sickness, living arrangement, jealousy, envy, greed, loyalty, education, sexual orientation, prostitution, and the list goes on, but one thing was for sure, everything and every one got dealt with.
Quick and Gio was the bomb and Nechelle wasn’t too far behind. The best all around. Dior got exactly what she deserved and I was annoyed that Kori got away with no consequences, just a slap on the wrist....
Now I can’t wait for another book to drop!!!

Consequences to the actions…
Gianni had a rough life after her mother passed away from contracting AIDs from one of many clients from prostitution. The fact that her own brother pimped his mother out because he felt that his mother never shared the same love for him as she did Gianni. Which was kind of true. There were so many things to unfold in this story. Although Gianni grew up with her cousin Kori, Kori had always been jealous of Gianni even though Gianni didn’t figure that out right away until she and her cousin both fall hard for club owner Jacobi “Nix” Nixon. I personally feel that Nix was a bit on the childish side for how he handled his Dior once secrets were revealed. I felt that his revenge was really grimy. He didn’t really had to do her the way he did. However, Dior was off her rocker! For much reason though. Her father holding her accountable for her mother dying while birthing her and making her guilty her feel guilty unloved and unwanted would make anyone crazy. I really enjoyed this story!

Phenomenal Writing
Ms.Parker never disappoints!
So uplifting to read about a young lady with morals and values,Gianni’s story is so inspiring. Her story is a testament to let others know that being humble,ambitious and treating people right,will work in your favor. Nix’s care and loyalty was so refreshing,an example of how a man should truly treat his wife.His support for those he loved was simply amazing.The twist and turns had didn’t let me put down this page turner.
The parents and grandparents role were highs and lows,but parenting doesn’t come with a manual,so we all don’t get it right.
Nichelle and Quick were something else(although I was frowning at Quick just as much as I was cheering him on). Playing favorites with children not only scars the children growing up but those scars can become lesions in adulthood. Dior,Greg and Ronnie were all product of bad parenting or lack of.
Money well spent so 5 stars was a no brained,Thank you Ms.Parker!!!!!!!!!!

This book is so good. When I started reading I didn't want to put it down. The way that Nix loved and cared for Gianni was that real everlasting love. I'm so glad that they never let anyone come between them not even family. I loved the way Gianni found her dad and had a whole family out there showed her real love. Not fooling with her slimy cousin and aunt was the best thing ever. Her brother also got his karma. I understand that Dior went through a lot with her dad but she didn't have to kill him but I guess she just finally snapped. I feel Quick was wrong for letting Nichelle make him chose between her and his other son but he was the man he should have put his foot down. I have so much I could talk about but if I keep on I would be done told the whole book lol. Chenell as always you have done an awesome job. I'm already looking for to your next five star.💖

When you pick up a Chenell Parker book, you already know what it is! Lit with plenty of drama, but also a good love story. Poor Gianni just when through it her whole life! However, she was humble, determined and ambitious in her attempt to change her circumstances. Her cousin Kori, was just trash! She was doing too much! Why hang around your cousin if your hate game was going to be so strong? just move around! Loved Nix from the beginning! He was just a good man, who was raised right, and loved hard. He saw something in Gianni, and pursued her strong. Now, some of his actions in that attempt, made me give him a side-eye, but his heart was in the right place. Their love was beautiful, and Gianni deserved all that Nix had to offer. That damn Dior was a whole mess! Where they do all that at? Glad Al finally decided to walk in his truth. He deserved happiness just like everyone else. Really good read! 👍👍👍

Absolutely loved this story for two reasons, one the under dog is the main character and two long lasting relationships aren't always the final destination. This story is the best happily ever after I've read in a while. This author delivers every single time, some stories she start out on A three and knocks it out the park half way in. Baby when I tell you Nix don't play behind his girl read it and find out. And that ole messy cousin of Givanni got exactly what she was looking for. But now I just need an additional story on Nischelle and Quick cause baby where in the check did these characters come from? His parents were straight up crazy but loyal to the one's they loved. And Nix ex is irrelevant so I'm not mentioning her. Very good read as always.

The best parts of them
Another wonderful story by this author. This book is wild and crazy, especially when all of the different connections are revealed. Gianna is a survivor that's determine to make a good life for herself despite her setbacks, only making her stronger. She's resilient and has good fortitude. Nix is a good hearted man that plays no games. I love how he is protective over her before truly getting to know her. Once their paths link, it opens the door to being love the right way while navigating good and troubled waters. The supporting characters are strong and complex. I enjoyed reading this story. Nix and Gianna's puzzle pieces came together and frame the best parts of them.

I never would thought that Dior would turn out like that. That shit was crazy. Al, now I definitely didn’t see that coming but I like them together. The type of love between Nix & Gianni was real. Sometimes we don’t realize how much we miss the small piece to the puzzle 🧩 having the best part of the puzzle is always a blessing. LOVED IT
This was a great read that didn't disappoint. Very well written, great storyline and character development. Chenell Parker knows how to tell a story with a nice flow and will keep your attention from beginning to end. Although it seemed as if Gianni was never going to catch a break in life meeting Nix was the best thing towards a brighter future. I loved Gianni's determination and the fact that she was independent. What I liked about Nix was his business savy and his love for family and friends. He refused to let anyone get over on him. There were a few bumps along the way but one thing was certain these two were meant to be to complete the missing pieces of their incomplete puzzle. Beautiful story of finding that perfect love after overcoming hardships and broken hearts.

Although it seemed as if Gianni was never going to catch a break in life meeting Nix was the best thing towards a brighter future. I loved Gianni's determination and the fact that she was independent. What I liked about Nix was his business savy and his love for family and friends. He refused to let anyone get over on him. There were a few bumps along the way but one thing was certain these two were meant to be to complete the missing pieces of their incomplete puzzle. Beautiful story of finding that perfect love after overcoming hardships and broken hearts.

Satisfied Reader
Nix and Gianni both were dealt with bad hands at life but they played it the best they knew how. Turned out to be a full house. Kori always been a hater eventho Gianni saw good in her. But Nix read her like a book. Dior was just trash and didn't know she had it all. Now she's paying for it. I didn't like the way Quick handled Gianni but he's also paying for it. Nichelle was his safe haven or he wouldn't have cherished his newfound memories. I'm so happy for Al and Danny they deserved to be happy. This author always come thru and give us just what we've been waiting for. A Great Book

Good BUT
The book was a decent read. Gianna got her happy ending and I was happy for her and Nix. I hated how Dior went from a decent woman to being shady. I understand her hurt but as women we have to learn to let go even when we don’t want to. Kori and Karen just a lost cause. I like Nichelle BUT as a mother she didn’t want her son growing up without a father and Ronnie shouldn’t have had to grow up without a father due to her not wanting accept Quick cheated. Quick was less then a man when he chose a woman over his son that he refuse to acknowledge which caused animosity in his other son heart.

Great Read
This standalone was so very good from beginning to end. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. It was well written and flowed at a steady pace. Held my attention and I couldn't put it down.....a page turner. Gianni, endured so much, but she defeated the odds and came out on top. So loved her and Nix together. He's exactly what she needed after losing everyone she loved. So loved everything about this book and how everything turned out. Highly recommend this standalone, if you're looking for a great love story with some twist and turns and a great plot. Great job Chenell Parker.

Crystals review
I really enjoyed this book it was awesome the story line the characters the writing itself was clear and Chris crisp I didn't see any grammatical errors it made sense I was in wondering what happened to this person or that person or what happened in this situation of that situation I wasn't lost I was completely and tuned and you covered every single area in this 1 book without having to have part 3 4 or 5. I feel good reading a book and the main character wasn't a drug dealer game banging murderer Great job!! I usually leave stand alone books wanting more don't get me wrong I want more but I'm satisfied and full Thank you

So different👏🏾👏🏾
This was a very good read I was caught up in every character. This was a great love story. Gianni had a heart of gold. Nix knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to get it. It took awhile but I’m glad Al learned to live in his truth. My heart went out to jaron he did a lot of wrong but Quick did him dirty and it led to tragedy. The only thing that bothered me was how no one ever made quick live in his full truth. Nichelle made mistakes but I loved how hard she went for her son. 👏🏾

Never a disappointment
I will always love Chenell Parker. Her writing and storytelling is so smooth and I love the flow of it. Now I was like both Nix and Gianni are both with someone but the way they came together was kinda cute and crazy especially with the lies floating around. Gianni is definitely loyal because she would not give in and I liked that about her. Nix was persistent and he wasn't giving up. When they finally got together things were good with them. They communicated well and got along great.

My favorite author did it again!
No one does storytelling like Chenell Parker! Her ability to weave and construct a story and tie those pieces together to bring her readers full circle is uncanny. She is the best at what she does! I have read all of her books and haven’t been disappointed yet. I love how she’s able to show us all sides of her characters. She pulls us into the very fabric of their being. In this story though, I did feel sorry for Ronnie. I felt like he got the short end of the stick. However, the book was good and I can’t wait for her next book.

Worth the read
This book didn't disappoint.. I loved how the story flowed as well as the development of the characters. Gianni was dealt a hard hand at life but she was always optimistic. Her aura held Nix captive and he didn't care because Nix went above & beyond for his boo. It really be ya family that do you dirty because Kori and her mother was trifling . Nichelle & Quick were the best parents but were the craziest when it came to their family. Danny & Al finally got thier happy ever after they deserved. That girl Dior was nothing but psycho 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️.

As always I really enjoyed this novel! Gianni and Nix both had trust issues but once they got past that, they were in a good place. No amount of hating on their relationship by others or past problems could tear them apart of test their love for one another even though to some it felt rushed! As usual the fight scenes were hilarious and some real life issues were definitely dealt with! I felt like as usual everyone got what they deserved! The best part was they had their big family at last. Great story as usual Chenell!! Can't wait until the next one!

Great book!
So much was going on in this book that I don't know where to begin. At times I liked Dior but other times I had to give her the side eye. Her dad was wrong for treating her like that. Kori was envious and jealous of Gianna I was happy when Gianna started seeing her cousin for who she really is. Gianna's story started out bad but she kept moving forward and never gave up. I liked that about her. And never blamed anyone for what she was going through. I a Nix in my life. I just loved Nix and I happy him and Gianna got their happy ending!

Excellent!!!
Omg!! I couldn't put it down, I read this book in five hours.Gianni was such a strong woman and my favorite from the beginning. She went through a lot but it didn't stop her or turn her heart cold. I happy Nix came into her life they just belong together. Dior had a rough childhood but she needed therapy, sis was crazy. Chenell Parker never disappoints. I loved it!!!
