Savannah doesn't does relationships, preferring to focus on her career. After a one night stand with Hex, he can't stop thinking about her, and sets out to get to forever with her. There are some bumps and potholes along the way, mostly in the form of his ex-fiancee. What a witch - sneaky and conniving, trying to bribe him. Savannah drove me nuts - she pulls away when things get touch - but I love her sass and snark. Hex is guilty of lies of omission, and his lack of honesty nearly costs him her love. I loved Savannah and Hex together; even when they were feuding, the sexual tension between them was off the charts. I really enjoyed this book, sitting up until nearly 3 am reading, literally unable to put it down.

This is the 4th book I've read written by Beth Mikell; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Hexon James Montgomery is the CEO of MK Steel and has his eyes on Savannah Deason but he has obstacles thrown his way. The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages between them. The flow of the storyline was great.

This was my second book from Jessa Ely in a matter of weeks, and she has me hooked on her extremely hot, sexy, and very lickable main men. I mean who doesn’t love an alpha male with a sweet and sassy side? I was literally swooning through this whole story, and thinking how lucky a girl would be to snag a guy like Hex. Yes, no joke, his name is Hex, and he definitely put some kind of spell on me!
Savannah is the epitome of a workaholic and tough as nails chick, being the female boss to a bunch of construction workers will do that to a girl, but on the inside she has many insecurities that not many know about. Out for a little fun one night, she has a one-night stand, not remembering much of it in the morning, including the sexy man in bed next to her. What she thought would be a forgotten tryst, turns into a chaotic mess. Hexon Montgomery, steel contractor, who just happens to be doing a job for Savannah, waltzes up to the job and she loses all train of thought.
Could they possibly have something romantic between them? What about the people and situations that will try and come between their HEA? This is a sexy story of finding love when you least expect it, and fighting for it, when others are trying to tear you down. I absolutely loved it, and rooted for Savannah and Hex’s HEA all the way through!

Yeah Good good, but not WOW.
Too much monologue, a little dialogue between H/h and when they said their words just not important for me.
when first i read, maybe yeaah 10% i hope it's good and so excited to read this. But when next page to next page i feel a little bit boring i think, yeah its too slow and their story its could be shortened.
The sex scene just flat, and not good for me hahaha yeah if you compare with many recent new adult books.
okey, i just tell abut this
Savannah is independent woman she doesn't do relationship, one day she go with her co-workers enjoy your day after work, get drunk and had one night stand with Hexon James 'Hex'. Just like that she even not remember too much about that, so bla bla they decided to say goodbye.
Fate, they meet again and yeah i like to think they will be many HOT acts but NO.
They have some traumas with the past, Hex get burned by his ex beautiful model too young fiance.
So when they became together, they have some walls between them. Afraid to give full their control and to scared get hurt, especially Hex.
Yup, i forget to tell but part of almost the end pages its GOOD, finally and the epilogue is GOOD too.

This is a hot and sexy read from Jessa Ely. A Rude Awakening is the first book in the Love & Lies series. The sex is hot between Savannah and Hex. I loved this read and couldn’t wait to see what was in store for Savannah and Hex. This is a great read and a good start to the series.

Was given an arc for an honest review. I really enjoyed this story. There were elements in which I was not happy with the hero, but he managed to make me still like him in the end. The writing was good so that I understood where both characters were coming from, their emotions written so well. I loved the banter and the sarcasm. I love good sarcasm! And I definitly felt the connection between Sav and Hex. It was emotional, and tugged at my heart. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great read! I truly enjoyed Hex upon Me...the sarcasm princess and her biker god. It's a purely emotional read and tugs at the heart strings. The nice thing is, everyone is different--no two people are the same. Love is that way and I was happy to see a unique slant within this story.

When I purchased this book I was really excited to read it. But I feel I was let down. The story between Hex and Savannah could have been really good. To me I just couldn't get a emotional connection with either main character.

No real connection between the leads. The h was supposed to be this strong woman but all she did was go weak kneed and say yes to the H no matter how arrogant he was. It was lots of sex little real story.
