2 DNF @48% Stars

Second DNF of the day which means it's probably time to take a break😭 it started out decent and I was actually invested but the heroine was eh. I don't mind daddy talk but just like any word, if it's repeated a certain amount of times, I get very annoyed. This book is only around 260 pages, and the word "daddy" was said almost 130 times which was very ugh.

I also don't like how the heroine was so quick to start calling him that and how quick she decided to get on board with everything and sleep with him for money. I would have liked at least a tiny bit of internal struggle. I can't even remember if she ever called him by his name or not, it was always "daddy" or "sir". I did like the hero more, but he couldn't save the book for me.

The sex was okay, but then the book became all about sex. Like literally nonstop. And it was also a little too vague I felt like. It was more of some foreplay/punishment, then short sex, or sex, take a breath, then sex again and again... And each sex scene just felt the same. So ya, it was definitely too much.

Struggling romance writer Katie meets billionaire Darius via a classic case of farcical mistaken identity: she's in his hotel to find inspiration for her latest book; he thinks she's a professional escort. Strongly attracted to each other, they enter into a DD/lg contract; the rest of the book follows their burgeoning relationship and the many, many, many contrived complications thrown in their way.

If you're looking for very light DD/lg play -- there's absolutely no Age Play here, aside from the term "daddy" and some spankings -- between two likeable characters, sprinkled with some self-reflexive humor, served up with a side of fairy tale romance a la Pretty Woman, and ending in an HEA, you may enjoy this. For me, the entire storyline was simply too many "instas:" insta-lust, insta-love, insta-I've-never-in-my-life-been-in-this-situation-and-I-don't-know-you-from-Adam-but-I'm-so-fine-doing-absolutely-anything-you-want-t0-me-that-I-won't-even-ask-what-it-is.

In terms of prose, while this book certainly contains the authors' strengths (Jane Henry's possessive heroes and Shanna Handel's relaxed humor), it also contains their weaknesses (Ms. Henry's repetition and Ms. Handel's abrupt transitions and tendency to pile on plot points in rapid succession). Because everything in this book happens to0 quickly -- the relationship-building, the manufactured crises, the unraveling of said crises -- there's very little to connect this reader to the characters.

3 stars. It's consensual; it isn't harsh; and I appreciate that no one slut-shamed the escorts. That said, this book came across as very slap-dash, and the sheer number of very tired generic tropes () means that it's eminently forgettable. YMMV.

Darius is a billionaire who owns an hotel in Vegas, he is bored and alone pondering on his life when he looks at his monitors and sees her. Katie is a romance novelist who is having writers block and is searching for inspiration in his casino. There she sneaks into a conference to grab some food when she soon realizes that this participants are high class escorts. She is invited to Darius's penthouse where their story begins. It is hot sexy, intense for this naive young woman., but she is looking to be loved and Darius her daddy dom might be whatshe is looking for. Deliciously naughty and intense scorching hot chemistry between these two characters makes this a must read, that you will have problems putting down! Ivolunteered to review this story.

A SWOONWORTHY love story that romance readers shouldn’t miss!
BE MY BABY GIRL, a new billionaire romance by the writing team of Jane Henry and Shanna Handel, is an incredibly sensuous love story for the eighteen and over crowd! Beginning with a young romance writer’s suffering during an extended and exceedingly horrendous period of writer’s block, BE MY BABY GIRL takes readers through the ups, downs, and (un)timely consequences of her choices. Out for a night of seeking inspiration to help overcome that horrendous block, heroine Katie’s growling stomach overrules her decision-making and places her within a conference of escorts where she is seen by Darius Morrow, the billionaire real estate mogul and owner of both the nightclub and the hotel in which the conference is being held. Before the escorts begin their evening activities, Katie is sent up to Mr. Morrow’s penthouse, and the most amazing tale of mistaken identity leading to true love ensues. Fraught with bumps, misunderstandings, and a backstabbing ex. the relationship seems doomed, but the creativity of this talented writing team is unthwarted. However, you will have to purchase your own copy of BE MY BABY GIRL to see the amazing way this love story twists. The characters are blissfully human making mistakes, assumptions, and trying selflessly to put the needs of the ones they love before their own. Yet, through all of their missteps, unexpected wrong turns, and even the blissful moments between them, there is a phenomenal HEA waiting in the wings! The writing is eloquent, descriptive beyond the pale, and will keep readers fascinated throughout the novel’s page-turning story. Additionally, I found myself giggling, laughing out loud, and sighing on a number of occasions. While I volunteered to receive an advanced copy, I have already purchased my pre-order of BE MY BABY GIRL so it can be placed in the FAVORITES collection on my Kindle. In addition, BE MY BABY GIRL has received a 5+STAR “DO READ” rating along with this voluntary review! Get your copy of BE MY BABY GIRL today! Happy pages! 😉

Pretty light story some steamy scenes and couple dramas.

I was alittle confused because in one part Darius said he knows she's not a escort but they keep saying she is one? I thought her lie was found out the first night? Unless I read that wrong? Another con for me to much daddy word. Few times she used Darius name but wish the daddy word was cut back in few.

Katie writing days are stand still she has some major writers block so she thinks she should go to strip to see if she has any inspiration. Leading her to a sugar daddy convention that also leads her to Darius billionaire hotel owner. Their night starts off steamy and very one night. And both cant seem to get enough of one another seems like Darius has another chance with his girl. And he takes it and there is drama in that part since they are going to his hometown and a cold heart ex is there because well shes just a bitch. But once they get home another drama happens

Pen name is leaked, story is leaked and the heartbreak is real when they seperate.  And boy I felt bad for both. Kinda glad Gran smacked some sense into her grandson lol.

Low angst, ow drama and No om drama, no cheating, qdrama, sexy times, No virgins

Be My Babygirl was written by Jane Henry and Shanna Handel. They wrote one hot book with all my fave things.  Billionaires, Daddies, spankings for naughty girls, hot sex,  little secrets, misunderstandings and a HEA.  Jane will continue to be on my must buy list.  The book did not disappoint!

"Again... I choose wine." I loved this line a few times from Katie, looking at her choices she thinks that wine will save her from Daddy. The thoughts that came out of her head... "kinkasaurus Rex". Katie muddles her way through the one night opportunity with Darius as she needs it, but after that one night, she's still wanting more and she's discovering what she likes. The scenes are hot and steamy and Gram is that one character that can bring you to your knees. I enjoyed reading this story, it's a Cinderella tale with spice and a happy ending.

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I love Jane Henry. I've never read Shanna Handel before. Looks like I'll be checking her books out because of Be my Babygirl!
Love the characters. Katie is strong enough for Darius to dominate.
In the famous words of Tim McGraw "I like it I love it I want some more of it"
I hope this becomes a series.

This is a sweet, incredibly hot story.
A Billionaire and a starving author of romance books! It doesn't get any better than that.
These characters were really well written and their interactions were very steamy in their roles of Daddy and babygirl.
The story had drama, but not over the top. More of a misunderstanding and meddling sort of drama.
Overall, this was a great story!

It was an okay read for me with cheesy ending I didn't quite like
But I liked the sense of humor in this book - simple but kind, funny and coming from real life situation, plus I loved Gran as a book character.
If you're looking for DD/lg play, there's absolutely no Age Play here, aside from the term "daddy" and some spankings.

Yowza was I lovin’ this! So much that I read right through the night (to 2:15 am) and didn’t worry about sleep for work lol. Darius is a most yummy billionaire with a definite proclivity that he doesn’t seem to find anyone to share it with. Until he sets his sights on Katie, a beauty who catches his eye so he figures he’ll have her for a night. Katie stumbles into a meeting, looking for inspiration (and food) and ends up finding way more than she dreamed of in a night with Darius. He awakens something in her she never knew was there, and they both start having serious feelings, but both are afraid to say anything. This is spicy & hot and swoony, and I loved every page of it 😍🔥❤️

What s way to find a Daddy Dom! This story hooks you on the first page when Katie gets so lonely and hungry. Darius has not seen anyone that even remotely gives him any interest. Not in a long time. Not until he spies Katie in the buffet line!
Things get really fun after that! A romance writer who’s suffering from writers block.
You’ll love all the action that takes place in the pages of this book. The Villains and the good hearted ones that make this story something special. The steamy scenes are so hot that cold showers are recommended afterwards! Enjoy this
Lustfull romp and share their journey to an HEA

Jane Henry and Shanna Handel have outdone themselves in this wonderful book I had the privilege to preview as an ARC. It has all the feels...a billionaire loner with a tragic back story, a struggling writer with a bad case of writer's block, and an unexpected meeting that can only change both of their lives. There's even a little bonus Easter egg of mention of the Bachman's!! A great story you're sure to remember and go back to revisit again and again. There's laughter, tears, a bitchy ex, a wise old grandma and a happily ever after.

I like Katie. She has such a sweetness and light to her. She really makes me want to be her friend, because she is just lovely. She really just has a sweet innocence to her that stays there no matter what. It really helped make this book both sweet and steamy.

Darius is a really good man who is really honorable. Most of the time I really like him, but I occasionally kind of want to dope slap him, because, well. But not even Daddies get it right all the time.

As I already love these two authors I just knew this book was going to be freaking awesome. I was right! I love the idea of a romance writer going to a convention and getting spotted and mistaken for a stranger profession. This couple goes through the ringer to end up with their HEA and boy do they deserve it!

The couple: Darius and Katie

Romance genre: DD/lg
Part of a series: Yes (Vegas Daddies)
Length: 268 pages

Plot: Katie is a writer - romance novels. She's looking for a little inspiration, so she heads into a local casino one night, and being a little short of money, finds herself heading to a room where a lot of other women are headed, but where, more importantly, there is also a buffet set out. While she's doing that, Darius, the owner of the casino, is up in his penthouse, contemplating his loneliness. He thinks he might need to spend some time with one of the ladies (you know what kind of ladies), but he doesn't really want that either. While looking at the security camera feeds, he sees Katie walking through the casino, and decides that she will do nicely. He has her brought up to his room, and realizes fairly quickly that she is not really an escort (a role she had decided to try on, for research, of course). They agree to spend the night together, which they do, although it isn't quite what Katie expected. It isn't what Darius expected either - he didn't expect to be so fascinated with her. She goes home, but he comes with another reason to see her, one that involves visiting his family. There is a plot point involving an ex-girlfriend, whereby she betrays both Katie and Darius horribly, and nearly breaks them up for good. The media is intrusive, Katie's career is taking off again, and someone better be a good girl for her Daddy, or else!

Character development: Darius is the sweetest - the sweetest ever!

“Of course I’m here,” I say with a smile I feel down to my toes. “I missed you.” My stomach clenches. I didn’t mean to say that. I walk over to her and reach for her hand. She reaches back. “Did you?” she asks, her head tipped to the side. “I’m glad, because I missed you too.” She stands up on her tiptoes and kisses my cheek. I swear to God if I had a ring in my pocket, I’d drop to one knee right here, right now.

I loved him from the very beginning. He wants someone to love, and someone to love him in return, but he doesn't like the idea of people using him for his money. He wants something real, which is why using one of the casino's working girls isn't his favorite idea. He sees Katie though, from the very beginning - he really sees her. She needs that. She hides away, writing and trying to live vicariously through those stories (I get that!). They are perfect for each other: she physically melts for him in a way that he needs, and he does the same for her emotionally. This is a re-read for me, without question.

Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yes
Next book in the series: Always My Babygirl

Really a 3 and 1/2 star. I never really got into either character. Katie is too sweet until she gets stubborn, and Darius' character was not as well developed as I would have liked.

Katie is a starving author, literally it seems, and is also suffering from writer's block. She goes off for the night to a casino hoping to get some inspiration for her next romance novel. She sneaks into a private buffet line and finds herself eating with a bunch of paid escorts. To her surprise, she is approached by someone requesting her presence in the owner's suite. The billionaire owner, Darius Morrow wants her?

Darius can't believe he is actually hiring a professional escort but the curvy blonde checks all his boxes, boxes he didn't even know he had. He wants her under contract for the night and figures that will get her out of his system. Oops.

I won't spoil the story for you. As you can probably guess by the title, Darius has some specific requirements he wants met. Katie will find herself liking them, and not just for the money. This man uncovers a side of her she didn't know about. Not only that, but the experience will definitely give her fodder for her next book. Now she just has to remember that she is a paid escort, not Darius' actual girlfriend.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Whoever decided to put Jane and Shanna together was a GENIUS!!!! Katie is a romance Author with a touch of writers block. She heads out for a little inspiration and ends up as an escort! If that doesn't get the juices flowing, I don't know what will!!!! Darius is the owner of the casino Vegas, Baby. He's a busy man with a daddy kink and unfortunately he's been shamed for it in the past. So he only looks for one night stands until he sees Katie. These two come together and it is hot!!!!! Darius comes from humble beginnings and I love that he truly never loses himself. They could've written him as a cocky billionaire, but he is down to earth and SOOOO caring! Katie could've let all of Darius' attention pull into acting like a spoiled babygirl, but she stayed thankful. Their miscommunication nearly broke my heart!!! Together they are the perfect Daddy and babygirl. Gran is the best character in this book, hands down!!! Thank goodness for that woman and talking some sense into Darius. And that Tiffany 😑 she needs a spanking of her own!

I love reading both of these authors and this book, written by both, was a really good read. Katie gets caught up in something and meets Darius. The story is funny in places and was a nice change of pace from some of the darker books that Jane Henry writes. I loved most of the secondary characters with my favorites being Miranda and Gran. Gran was a hoot, totally loved her. But someone doesn't want Darius and Katie together and is willing to expose Katie. Will Darius believe her or the jealous ex? Loved how it all played out although I would have liked to have known more about what happened to the ex. A fast read, I think fans of Jane Henry and Shanna Handel will enjoy this story. I just need more in this world from some of the others now! LOL

I really enjoyed Darius and Katie’s unconventional story! Darius is the owner of a Vegas hotel and extremely good looking, wealthy and has a certain kink. Katie is a romance author suffering from serious writers block and is down on her luck. She decides a night out is in order to hopefully jog her brain into the creative path she so desperately needs. After a little mix up Darius and Katie end up with an agreement of one night. However one night will not satisfy them both. Feelings are strong but what is real and what is fake? And to make matters that more complicated there’s someone out to sabotage them.

A sweet little story, gentle read, but did not put it down. Has a certain innocence to it. Writing style not overtly Jane Henry's norm, but that's not a criticism, just different to other books I've read of hers. New to Shanna Handel, but definitely enjoyed the book. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

I really enjoyed this book. Darius is such a stern and controlled individual, but truly he is a lonely man who needs love, and the ability to care for someone. Enter Katie, sweet, cute, innocent, but has a side to her that calls to Darius' control. They both find that love can combat loneliness, and become forever.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

The story gave this reader everything she loves to see in an amazing tale. As an avid reader, I have enjoyed individual stories by these two authors and will have to say that they make a dynamic duo when writing together. I loved the tension, angst, passion, romance, and feelings that makeup Darius and Katie.

Katie is a loner, raised by a single mother after her father abandoned them, but she is also a fighter. She loves stories and has a way of writing that has made her dream of being an author come true. But she is also a struggling author, and needing inspiration, she researches local sexy men, and Darius Marrow, the owner of Vegas, Baby, becomes her role model for her newest book. Going to his hotel and casino for inspiration, she notices many attractive women heading in one direction and decides to check it out. A free buffet and a speaker, and then she learns it is an escort service, Sugar Daddies in the middle of it all.

“I was hungry that night.” Hungry for a story. For food. For love, I didn’t even know I was missing.”

Darius Morrow has gone from poverty to wealth, moving up the ranks, and yet, he is a single and somewhat jaded man. He has never taken his friend, Miranda, up on her escort service, but he is intrigued and contacts Miranda when he sees one of the girls.

The plot will have Katie seeking inspiration for a book, and before the night is out, finds herself in the penthouse of none other than Darius Marrow, as an escort for the night. Down on her luck, financially broke, his offer is too good to refuse; what would one night hurt? She will have the money needed to pay her rent and be able to write her book.

The story is a sweet and sexy Beauty and the Beast tale of two lonely people who have great chemistry. Darius can play the Daddy role, and Katie is his baby girl. When she doesn’t bulk at the terms, accepts his spankings, and craves more of what he has to give, it is like hitting the jackpot---even if it is for just one night. But will one night be enough?

“I felt decadent and spoiled—safe.”

Will Darius and Katie be able to pull off a fake fiancé week to appease his grandmother for her birthday? What happens when these two become more than just escort and client? What happens when jealousy interferes between them and causes a public scandal? Will this be the end of Katie and Darius? Nothing in life worth having comes easy, and these two must realize that if they are more than just acquaintances if what they are feeling towards one another is real, they will have to fight for it.

“If he loved me, if he really loved me, wouldn’t he have demanded we ‘talk this out’ as he always does? What was it so easy for him to let me go?”

“Unfortunately, love doesn’t always come easy, and we’ve had some bumps in the road. As every good romance author knows, sometimes, love is hard-won. And thanks to misunderstandings, and a jealous ex trying to sabotage us, we almost missed out on our own fairytale ending.”

The story is a Daddy Dom/little girl tale with two strangers becoming more than just lovers for a night. It will have several playful DD/lg spankings and explicit sex scenes. Best of all, this story is like a coveted fairy tale with the happily ever after ending.

I enjoyed this contemporary romance story set in Las Vegas.
It was a easy read with such a fun storyline. It was a lighter
read than i have come to expect from Jane Henry ,but it was
a great change of pace guaranteed to have you laughing out
loud at Katie’s antics.I also loved the inclusion of Gran, who
also added comic relief. As all good grandmothers do,she
knew that Katie was the right girl for her precious grandson.

Can a romance that started with a contract and a punishment
last?

Both Darius and Katie both came from humble beginnings ,
but that is where the similarities stop.Darius is a wealthy
Casino owner. Some would say he had his every need met,
but he yearned for more.Katie was a struggling romance writer
looking for inspiration for her next book.Never did she dream
that she would spend the night over Darius’s knees and in his
bed calling him daddy.

Darius was determined to keep Katie, but he will punish her first
before moving forward. One perfect night was not enough.Their
connection was soul deep. She rocked his world and put a spark
back into his life, but would the a jealous ex ruin everything that
was good between them.

Don’t miss this romantic Daddy Dom story by these two talented
authors.I truly found Katie‘s naïveté charming and sweet.Who does
not like a girl who enjoys her food and the simple things in life.
Despite all of his money, all Darius wanted was his own little girl to
love and spoil. He wanted his Katie.

A case of mistaken identity thrusts Katie into a world she never knew existed. Now caught up in a "relationship" with the most sought after man in Vegas, she must decide if the feelings are real. I really liked this book! It is not as intense as a straight up Jane Henry book, Shanna Handel adds a lightness that is appealing. Look forward to more from these co-writers. I received an ARC for my voluntary review.
