ARC received from author

Another great Bandits' book. Jared is taking some down time but finds Liberty wandering around. She injured and has no memory, but that doesn't stop her from talking. Jared finds he likes her talking. Jared's team and boss, Ian, help figure out who she is. Along the way bad guys try to take her (who cleaned up that mess?). She finally remembers everything (boy was her family a piece of work) including where she hid what the bad guys want. Lots of action, love, sex, and a little angst thrown in. Loved seeing Ian again, can't wait for his HEA.

I haven't read any books in the series but Lynn is an auto-read author to me so I know I'm going to enjoy this one. And I did. Jared and Libby sucked me into their story immediately. Their chemistry is off the charts and the story is pretty fast-paced. I couldn't put it down. I might need to read the previous books and can’t wait to read more.

After a long grueling mission Jared wants to take some time to himself and get his head back on straight so he retreats to a cabin for the seclusion. Then he finds Liberty on the ground outside of his cabin, bleeding and with no memory of who she is and what happened to her. This is when the real adventure starts. Danger is lurking around every corner and in every shadow. As the chemistry heats up between the two wheel liberty get her memories back and figure out why she came to be at Jared‘s cabin? I highly recommend this book!!

"What makes you thinkg we're through when you remember?"
"When we're not in the same house, maybe it will be easy to forget me."
"I don't think you'll be easy to forget at all."

Well, let's start off this review by saying, the next time I find myself wandering through the snow covered mountains and can't remember my name, I hope one of Ian Black's men finds me too. I think I'd hit myself over the head if it meant running into Jared Fraser. Lordy, he is one hot man!!

I loved Libby! She's so strong and brave, and despite not knowing anything about who she is or why she was in the woods, or what trouble she might have gotten herself into, she found a way under Jared's skin and right into his heart.

And Jared, well, what can I say. He is everything a book boyfriend should be - tall, built, handsome, and protective. And he loves to read!! What more could a girl want? He would have done anything to keep Libby safe, and it could have cost him everything. I love it when the confirmed bachelor suddenly meets his match and figures out that, hey, maybe he can have it all!

The story line was great and full of suspense and action and I couldn't put it down!! Oh, and when you get to the end, keep going! You don't want to miss the bonus epilogue!

I can't wait for the next book in the series!! I need Ian's story pronto!!

Jared & Liberty are So Perfect

A frightened young woman with amnesia shows up at Jared Fraser's cabin on the Eve of a blizzard, interrupting his getaway. Fortunately, Jared is one of the good guys, working for the enigmatic Ian Black. (Snowbound, a strange woman with amnesia, and a sexy secret ops savior has to be my favorite setup.) Soon, the bad guys after her are after them both.

Lynn keeps the story zooming along, never a dull moment. The woman -- Libby-- is a chatty person, unlike Jared, who is quiet and contemplative. He thinks she's going to drive him crazy, but instead they just fit and find that something special in each other. But will he still feel the same when she regains her memory?

I have to say I've been a fan of Lynn Raye Harris for several years and I think I've read all of her Hostile Operation Team and HOT SEALs series, but I really have to say at the Black's Bandits are becoming my favorite. (That's like trying to choose between several favorite flavors of ice cream, though. ) Maybe I like Ian Black's band because they're a few years older than the team in the regular military. Maybe its because of Ian Black (& those tantalizing glimpses we get of this terrific character). I enjoy the cameos from previous Blacked Bandits stories.

Next up will be the man himself, Ian Black!

Building Castles in the Sky

As always, Lynn Raye Harris has created a thorough, suspenseful and exciting story. She uses harrowing adventures and charismatic characters to pull the reader immediately into the plot and keep them invested. Jared Fraser is an operative for the clandestine BDI (Black Defense International). BDI is a private security agency that provides security and protection for those on the side of right, at least they appear to do so. Jared is a handsome, book worm loner, but also a fierce warrior. On his way to a reclusive mountain retreat, after a disturbing mission he finds a lost, injured woman. His protective instincts draw him into helping her, trying to find how she was hurt, why she's lost and what he's to do with her. Liberty King is cute, damaged, bubbly and says she doesn't remember anything about herself. The story progresses through Liberty's recovery and James's transformation, while trying to uncover why Liberty is in serious peril. Using BDI's resources they find corporate fraud, kidnapping, attempted and actual murder. Mystery and violence is counterpoint to loyalty and trust, bringing our two protagonists together despite their differences and because of their love.

Black Knight by Lynn Raye Harris. This is Jared and Libby story. Jared found Libby hurt and bleeding in the snow in front of his cabin. She had no memory of what happen to her or why. Jared took her in and his protective nature kick in. As the days went by men were C owing after her, Jared and his team had to try and solve this mystery until Libby was able to help them. Tge more they were together the stronger their attraction. I But both have backstories to over come.. when they do watch out.. love these stories. Most of all I love Ian Black. Black Knight by Lynn Raye Harris is book 4 in the Black's Bandits Series. This is the story of Liberty 'Libby' King and Jared Fraser. This can be a standalone book if you wish to do so. Jared is looking forward to some down time and solitude when he returns from a mission. But what he finds is a women who is hurt and is in grave danger. Libby isn't sure what is going on with her life as she seems to have forgotten why she is in danger due to her injuries. This was a book that drew me into their story and wanting to see what was going to happen next. I do recommend this book.

He’s a Knight amongst Black’s Bandits😍

Jared returns from a mission and takes off for his time of solitude to get his head back on straight, when he happens upon an injured woman with no memory of who she is or how she got to his cabin😳 As time progresses, they realise she is in danger as someone is clearly after her when men arrive at his rented cabin with hunting dogs🤔

Libby and Jared are amazing characters and their chemistry is off the charts and between the sheets HOT😁Fast paced read as per usual by Ms Harris and no doubt my eagerness to devour this story as quickly as possible to find out who was next on the Black HOT horizon❣️

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

Black Knight is the fourth book in Lynn Raye Harris’s Black’s Bandits series. The book gives us Jared and Liberty/Libby’s journey to their HEA.

Jared is on his way to a solo vacation in the snow when he finds Libby standing in his driveway, disorientated and bleeding. Being the type of person he is, he immediately takes her into his rental cottage and tends to her wounds. As they communicate, it becomes evident that Libby lost her memory: she does not know who she is or how she got there. Jared’s sixth sense, however, warns him of danger, but there is nothing much to be done because they are snowed in. It doesn’t take long for three suspicious characters and their tracking dogs to make an appearance in search of Libby. Jared, of course, was not just going to hand her over just like that, so he goes on the defense, eliminating the threat and getting Libby to his home and ultimately the BDI office. The team starts to investigate and find a lot of red flags; hence, Jared is put in charge of Libby’s protection. The longer Jared and Libby are together, the more the attraction grows, and as the mystery of Libby’s past unfolds, the deeper their feelings blossom.

I liked the concept. Jared rescuing a woman with no memory and then protecting her against some shady characters while at the same time trying to solve the mystery made for a good plotline. And again, the author’s writing and ability for good storytelling were on point (as usual). I also felt that Jared’s character was more fleshed out; this gave him more depth than Brett and Cole in the previous books. Getting to know the remaining Bandits and catching up with the ones in the previous books gave me the feeling of meeting old friends, and that was nice. And, of course, this author knows how to keep the tension going as far as suspense and romance are concerned. Additionally, the glimpses of Ian and Natasha added an element of “I can’t wait to get to their story.”

Jared was a bit of a grump at the start. This is all good and well because I love the grump/sunshine trope, but I felt that Jared’s grumpiness did not work too well with the romance side of things. I say this because Jared (for a good part of the book) came across as 100% unfeeling, and this reader got the impression that he really didn’t care what Libby did or thought; this did not do anything for the chemistry required in a romance. Jared did come around as the story moved on, but that instant attraction and chemistry was missing for me. Like I lamented in my reviews for the previous books, Jared did not give off alpha vibes. Yes, the author told us he was possessive and protective of Libby, but his actions did not reflect that. In one scene, the Bandits suggested that Libby return to her place of work to collect the evidence they needed to bring the bad guys down, and despite the risk to Libby, Jared did not put up much of a fight—that is not something an alpha male will do. In this series, I miss the possessive feelings involved when an MMC detects another male sniffing around “his woman”; such scenarios portray the possessiveness nicely without being over the top. But that’s just me.

Like the FMCs in previous books, Libby just did not do it for me. I liked her personality at the start, but eventually she evolved into another version of Maddie, Tallie and Angie, and that was disappointing. The author told us that Libby was sunshine-y, but that was not the case (being a chatterbox and prying into Jared’s private affairs does not make a person sunshine-y). Libby was sweet, trusting, good, and all those other traits I usually associate with the Stepford Wife theme. Oh, and she also lacked “experience” in the bedroom, if you know what I mean (rolling my eyes here).

In Libby, we again have an FMC—who just met her new “circle of friends”—spilling details of her s€xcapades without much prompting. Is that really how women bond? I must have missed the memo, then, because I’ve come across this phenomenon in a LOT of these romance books, and it irks the heck out of me. Libby, being the accommodating and sweet woman she was, agreed to getting intimate with Jared, no strings attached. Then, as these things go, she later backtracked and asked him where he saw their relationship going. Seriously? She knew what the terms were from the start, and she was fine with it—again, the FMC being the aggressor in a relationship makes an appearance.

Libby also tended to “whisper” and “speak softly.” Why? And how does that signify strength in a woman (something else that Libby was sold as)? I also found Libby’s background and conflict—when it eventually came to light—flimsy. It might have been better if there was a prologue leading into the danger Libby found herself in, but the conflict and its resolution was too easily packaged and handed to the reader on a plate.

I picked up a few proofing issues (no comma between independent clauses, a missing word, questionable word choice [i.e. inactivated vs. deactivated). Also, where did Libby’s cousin in the last part of the book come from? All along, we were told that Libby’s family consisted of a brother and two sisters, with whom she was no longer in contact. Suddenly, in one of the last few chapters, we had Libby reminiscing that she could have called her cousin for support—this was puzzling to say the least.

I like this author’s storytelling ability, but the characters (specifically the FMCs) in this series are really not likeable. However, since I’ve been looking forward to Ian’s book for a while, I will give it a try and then decide if I want to continue with the series. Because of my issues with the characterization, I am giving this book a rating of 2.5, rounded off to a 3.

PS ...
START OF RANT: The problem I have with the women in this series is that they seem to be cookie-cutter versions of each other, just with different jobs and situations that place them in danger. They are too sweet, too accommodating, take the lead in progressing the relationship—all of which make them as dull as a dish without seasoning. Not only that, but it additionally makes them look desperate (for male attention) and lacking self-respect and pride. Tallie from book two indirectly “encouraging” Libby to pursue Jared—like she did Brett—also didn’t help. Unfortunately, the men are no different: bar a few exceptions, they are essentially the same character, and definitely not alpha. Ian, however, shows promise. I just hope I will not be disappointed in his book (which is next). And I sincerely hope that Natasha, Ian’s love interest, is made of sterner stuff than what I have seen thus far. END OF RANT.

Jared is driving to a cabin he rented and sees a woman standing in the middle of the road. She has blood on her and her clothes are not fit for a snow storm. Jared takes her to the cabin and she doesn’t remember who she is or how she got there. Jared has medic training and thinks her memory will come back shortly. Jared works for a security company Black Defense International or BDI. They are stranded in the cabin and whoever is after her, finds them. Libby is starting to get her memory back but it’s slow and they are hiding out at Jared’s house and working with his team to find out everything they can about Libby. Her memory comes back and they come up with a plan to get what she hid. When Libby is taken will Jared find her in time?
Very good story. Plenty of action and suspense and sex. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Jared is a loner and Libby is his total opposite, she’s bubbly and a little reserved but they fit.

5 stars as standalone, 3 as a series

Tropes: Grumpy (quiet)-sunshine (chatty), Amnesia, Forced proximity

Loved most of the story.

I'm trying hard not to think that the Black Series should have more action or be more intense than the HOT series but it's hard because I still think they should - the Bandits are a bunch of pussy cats. Sexy ones but still very tame. And I still don't like the 80% happening in every book!!! - WHY!!!! Are you trying to be like another author (that I don't like btw)? And why all the weird gay, not gay, gay jokes in previous books? Every story seems to have some reference to something "not gay". So ignore those things, and it's easy if it's your first book and it's a 5-star. But these books are getting very copy, rinse, repeat, and 3-star worthy.

Excellent performances by both Teddy and Erin but I'm just not a fan of Teddy in romantic suspense audios - his voice just seems off for this type of romance.

I’m fascinated with the idea of someone losing their memory and wondering if they’ll like the person they were. Will you like your job? Clothes? Friends? What could you change if given the opportunity?

Most of the book focuses on Jared and Libby getting to know each other and that included a lot of internal dialogue. I perked up when Ian’s team and their heroines made appearances. The few action and/or intense scenes also picked up the pace. Jared in action is a beautiful thing to behold. I wanted a lot more of the “Jared at the mountain house in action.”

Of course there’s a HEA and the prison cell full of HOT bad guys has a few more occupants. (Although no HOT crossovers in this book.)

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

It’s ok but...

I have been a fan of this series from the beginning with the books that have lead up to the Black Bandits series. It’s been a long time between books so it’s been disappointing that this story is quite generic to previous ones within the series. It would be good to read one of these books where the heroine doesn’t get kidnapped at least twice, only to be rescued again. I love romance books but it’s getting to the point with this series that it’s just a name change and similar story with every release.

The plot: sort of interesting. A mystery woman shows up at a vacation cabin after escaping from some bad guys and losing her memory in the process. Her rescuers is a former Soecial Forces dude who works for a global security firm of sorts. Most of the book is around her efforts to remember what happened while snuggling with the SF dude and solve the mystery. The story dragged while spooling out the amnesia bit so the couple could connect.

The FMC: Libby is a fairly strong lead who comes from a cultish family. She was kicked out of the family after refusing to be married off to a decades older guy. She's worked hard to build a life while having little education and opportunity. The one trait of hers on heavy repeat was her tendency to talk too much.

The MMC: Jared is another of the template written dudes in this series. He's the medic of the team, an alpha with a lot of childhood damage and an isolationist streak a mile wide. He's gorgeous, full of angst about his past inabilities to "save" everyone in his vicinity while seeking quiet to relax from his stressful job.

The romance: These two had virtually no connection at all. Jared wanted her because she had an attractive body but mostly because she was simply there. This was nothing more than proximity. He found her constant chattering annoying and stated that many times externally and internally. It really felt at times like he didn't think she was very smart at all. She wanted him because he was physically beautiful and she was lonely. There was also some push about his former call sign of "Knight" that he felt was unearned because of combat experience, so naturally her character was made to bring that up a nauseating number of times. Guess it was supposed to help him feel redeemed in some way, but it didn't work. The spice was barely spicy. He made a lot of comments while they were doing it, often pretty arrogant ones. There was really no chemistry. He ended up with her because his friends and their mates liked her, and he clearly settled. The get-togethers with the other women in this series read like a bunch of sorority sisters giggling and talking about orgasms. This didn't fit with the supposed ages, maturity, and experiences of these women from previous books. Disappointing at best.

The Resolution: The ending wasn't like past high tech/adventurous high points. Instead they sent the FMC back into her office to retrieve some evidence where she gets caught and whisked away by helicopter. All the global security/CIA/former Special Forces dudes didn't consider all the options. Seriously? It feels like the characters get more basic or literally stupid as this series goes on.

In particular, Ian Black, a former super spy extraordinaire from many other books and series, doesn't seem in control of things like in the past. This incredibly skilled sorta good/bad guy is now just another leader of others but isn't portrayed as he has been. His book is next, but I'm not sure I want to read it now. The thought of his character getting further dumbed down is sad.

This author has a big devoted fan base. I think readers deserve better. There's a lot of templated character behavior and thinner mysteries with every book. The series started stronger but it doesn't seem like that at this point.

So Good!

Never disappointing, always titillating and exciting, this story is deliciously intense right from the beginning! Who better to find a lost and confused woman than the dark, mysterious, warrior, Jared Fraser?

Libby is at Jared’s mercy since she has no memory of what happened to her, how she made her way to Jared’s cabin, or who she is, she depends on him to help her figure things out. Deep down she knows she can trust Jared. His gentle, but skilled treatment of her injuries proved what Jared told her about him being a combat medic and seeing to her comfort and well being has shown her he is a caring man as well. While Jared assures Libby he will protect her and no one will hurt her, he instinctively knows the hunters that came to his vacation cabin looking for a lost woman are bad news, he prepares his weapons and Libby for the fight he is sure is coming.

Jared is also a good cook with minimal fuss and simple tastes. He shows Libby he is a man of a few words and like his mother, he is also a lover of classic books some of which he brought with him on his vacation. He is secure in his own skin, with his own company and he likes quiet. Libby is a talker, a sweet, gentle woman who loves to talk. She doesn’t just ramble on, she talks about many things and even makes him laugh at some of the things she talks about.

When the men come back to the cabin with a friend and his hunting dogs, it is clear they are tracking someone. Jared knows that someone is Libby. I love how Jared assesses the situation and doesn’t hesitate to take the necessary steps to eliminate the immediate threat to Libby. I enjoy how Jared uses his resources at BDI to secure Libby’s safety and to also find out more about who she is and what she is involved in. Libby’s memory loss is a mystery in itself, but when unfriendly people hurt her and try to kill her, Jared, Ian Black and his team, know there is a lot more at stake than a possible domestic situation.

It is a testament to the kind of man Jared is to know that he is not going to let any harm come to Libby. He is determined and with Ian’s help, uses the resources within BDI and whatever other means necessary to help Libby recover her identity and find out why someone wants her so badly. I admire Libby’s subtle strength despite her fear of what her unknown memories might reveal. The comfort of knowing Ian and the BDI team make this story feel like a continuation of the family BDI has become. Full of action, suspense and heartfelt angst, this story is also packed with the sizzle of Jared and Libby’s hot, sexual chemistry. Great story and a fabulous HEA!

Well dang. I really tried to read this one slow and savor it, but it was just so darn good I couldn’t put it down! Def one of my favs! The action, the romance, the companionship, the plot (and how it thickens with Ian)!

Jared is quite possibly the most perfect man ever, and more my type than any of the other guys (and that’s hard to say!) Jared is an introvert who likes his alone time and likes to read his books. A simple man who wants nothing more than peace and quiet, so after his last mission (Colt and Angie’s story), he books himself a little vacation in a cabin to do nothing but read. Well Jared never makes it that far. He does make it to the cabin, but a woman whose obviously been beaten up pretty badly is standing out front, and Jared being the perfect man and medic that he is, can’t help but help her.

Turns out her name is Libby and Jared has an immediate fascination to her and wants to help protect her. Good thing Libby likes to read because she can’t remember anything and all Jared has in him is books.

Their story is really fun because of the conversations they have, it’s fun, lighthearted and just fun little banter between them. Libby slowly remembers her childhood memories throughout the book but eventually remembers everything, including why people are trying to kill her.

The action in this is spectacular. Libby gets kidnapped and beaten up (again) and it drives Jared insane. He sees that she’s been hit and beaten and goes into caveman mode and wants to torture everyone who touched her. This tall, dark haired, blue eyed, dangerous medic of a man is so in love with his woman he’d do anything to keep her safe, and she knows it.

As of right now, this is the last book out :( Mal’s book does come out next week and then Ian’s comes out in January, so I’ll have to try and keep myself busy until then :( we did get some sneak peeks of Ian and a little kiss scene of him and his woman, so I’m even more excited for his book! Until then I guess I’ll have to find some more hot, dangerous men books!

I really enjoy the Black's Bandits novels, and OK sure, it's mostly because you KNOW that Ian Black is going to show up at some point. (It's good to acknowledge one's weaknesses, after all.) But hey, I love his guys, too.

Jared was such an awesome, interesting character - why aren't there more stories in this genre featuring Air Force PJs, by the way?! (Cause if they're out there, I haven't found them, which is a darn shame - yowsa!) I love how protective and thoughtful Jared is. It's just part of his nature, and it makes him both vulnerable as well as gives him a source or inner strength. All of the Bandits are emotionally damaged in some way, and we get a good, realistic view of Jared's inner demons here.

Liberty was an interesting character, herself! Bubbly and sweet; smart and curious, she's a fresh, interesting contrast to Jared's ultra quiet Introvert personality. I love their dynamic. I also found Liberty's memory loss to be well written, with a very plausible cause.

The contrast between Liberty before her memories return and after was just heartbreaking! (Really well done: keeping the core of Liberty's personality the same, before and after. She's clearly still "herself.") Liberty was so much stronger than she realized, both physically and emotionally.

All I can say is, such a suspenseful ending, my heart was in my throat - I could NOT go to sleep until I knew it was all over. Was I exhausted the next morning? Yep. Did I care? Heck no!

In between missions, Jared Fraser likes to go to his remote cabin to unplug for quiet & his books. This time around, his quiet time takes a backseat when he comes across a bleeding woman who can't remember who she is or why she's hurt. He takes her in because that's the type of man he is, and as they're trying to put some pieces together, there are those who are hunting her. Luckily he has a job with a bunch of amazing people who have his back, so they're trying to figure out some details since poor Libby's memories are only coming in tiny bits at a time. Black Knight was a fantastic story that was perfect in my eyes as it had it all to make me happy. The twists coming in hot were definitely one of the high points since I could drop loud f-bomb after loud f-bomb, making the suspense factor is top notch. Next up is the interactions between Jared & Libby which were not only hilarious, but the sparks were also flying so it was just a matter of time before they're heating up the sheets. As they start piecing the whole story together, Libby is still in great deal of danger, so can Jared & his friends keep her safe?! You know what to do to find out! I CANNOT WAIT for Ian's story, but in the meantime, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Wow, Jared's story definitely did not disappoint! He is off on a week long vacation in a remote cabin, all by himself! he needs some time to decompress from his recent mission at BDI. Driving through a snowstorm, he pulls into the driveway, to find a young woman standing in the snow. She has light clothing on & blood running down her face. Oh & she has no recollection of what happened or who she is!
She is wearing a necklace that says Libby, but beyond that, they have nothing to go on. Jared's protective instinct is to keep her safe. When a few men show up on snowmobiles, snooping around, looking for a woman, he tells them he hasn't seen her. This doesn't stop them from returning later.
Turns out her name is Liberty & she is in more danger than either of them thought possible. This truly kicks in Jared's protective streak & he lives up to his call sign, Knight. He is her knight in shining armor, keeping her safe when danger gets too close. Can he continue to do so, when she starts to remember things & has to go back to her job?
This book was action packed, suspenseful, dangerous, exciting & oh so spicy! It is always fun to watch the tough guys fall for the beautiful woman who has stolen his heart! Enjoy!

Yet another phenomenal book by Lynn Raye Harris! Jared Fraser is the perfect blend of alpha male badass, a sexy nerd and sweet romantic...sigh! His quiet introverted escape to a mountain cabin is interrupted when he discovers an injured woman in the driveway.

Liberty ‘Libby’ King is an everywoman type heroine. She doesn’t have a kickass skill set or come from money, she’s a woman who has experienced pain as a result of the people in her lives not valuing her. Despite her past and her recent injuries she is a bubbly, chatty ray of sunshine in Jared’s quiet world. He finds himself attracted to her and attempts to not ‘take advantage’, but Liberty isn’t willing to pass up the opportunity to enjoy the sizzling connection between Jared and herself.

The storyline is suspenseful and brings the other BDI agents, their ladies and Ian Black into action. I’ve loved all of the previous books in this and Lynn’s other series and this one is equally good and is my current favorite - until her next release, of course.

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Jared & Libbie

His vacation schedule changed when he found an injured woman near his secluded cabin. No memory of who she was and what happened made it difficult to help. Add a dangerous snowstorm, chemistry, and you have a situation he's not been in. Wanting a woman he's protecting? Can't happen.

She's hurting and scared and insecure. He makes her feel better even though she doesn't know him. When men come looking for her she sees how protective he can be--then her memory brings in the rest of the team.

A good story with great characters, new and old. The story does stand alone if you are new to the series. The team is tight and always ready to back the others. Their women are the same. Their boss has connections as well as each of the guys. They'll have to call on all of them to save her and fix what's wrong.

If you like strong, alpha protective men, women who stand up for themselves, steam, and watching the bad guys get what they deserve you'll love this one.

Starting off with a mysterious hurt woman Black Knight (Black's Bandits #4) by Lynn Raye Harris is one suspenseful romance. No memory with men hunting her, Jared Fraser finds that within him is a knight, perhaps one with a tarnish armor but a knight, nonetheless. That is exactly what Liberty King needs right now.

I have always considered the HOT Series to be my favorite by Ms. Harris but this book tops them all. Characters with flaws but able to find the ability to not only complete the mission but with compassion too along with a being well developed make this an amazing read. Romance with steam this plot need has a dull moment. Only as you read on is the past revealed. Then there are heartwarming times as well as danger, mystery and unexpected love to be found. A page turner from the beginning when Liberty is standing in the cabin driveway with the car lights in her eyes. One unput-downable read.

The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Oh my, I loved this one! Action packed and I could not stop listening until it was done. Jared and Liberty were amazing and I loved their story.

Jared is in the mountains for an off the grid, solo vacation to reset. But when he finds an injured woman, he jumps in to immediately to help her. However, she doesn't remember who she is. But as time goes by, Liberty's memories come back and she finds out that she knows some information that could help the military but get her killed in the process.

Jared is amazing. He really is a Knight and I loved how protective he is. His protective instincts and the need to everything right is admirable. Liberty is a certified baddie, despicably how she escaped being kidnapped and then how strong she was at the end. And their relationship developed so naturally. From strangers, to friends, to more.

Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon were wonderful narrating this book! I'm always down for a protective, growly Teddy. Erin was amazing, per the norm. She's always so wonderful with bringing all the emotions to life.

Jared and Libby’s story was fast-paced, thrilling, and packed full of danger even as they found quiet and sweet moments to build a love for one another that was surprising. Jared was the perfect alpha male as he found and protected the lost woman that instantly stole his attention, but slowly the truth emerges and he begins to understand that perhaps fate has brought them together for a bigger reason. The love between Jared and Libby makes them both better people and reminds us that sometimes that connection is what we need to find our drive in life to do and be better. Libby has such an inner strength and light without being obnoxious about it that I found I really enjoyed getting to know her because she felt totally real to me, like someone I would like to know in person and be friends with. I am looking forward to seeing more of them in future stories, but I am really dying for the next one now after that epilogue between Ian and Natasha (totally cruel Lynn)! This series just gets better and better with the adventure and drama of the dark world of mercenaries and the mates that steal their hearts.

Jared “Knight” Fraser is every woman’s Knight in shining armor.
This is the fourth book in the Black’s Bandits series, and man do these books keep getting better and better with each one. This story is about Jared Fraser, who is sort of a loner and enjoys his peace and quiet after a mission. He was actually on his way for some downtime when he stumbles across a woman hurt and in need of help. To say that Libby King is the complete opposite of Jared would be an understatement. She is suffering from amnesia and while she is struggling to figure out who she is and what is happening in her life, she also can’t help but be drawn to Jared and everything he has done to help her. She is the light that Jared needs in his life. She also brings with her laughter and nonstop chattering. I loved watching these two grow closer and finally giving in to their passion for each other. Talk about steamy!! I loved everything about this book and now I really can’t wait to read Ian’s story.
