I'm not going to review each and every of the 18, so far, books in this series because it would be exhausting. Suffice it to say, as I just this morning told my son, to have the talent to write a series of 18 books (so far) and each and every book be as engaging, thrilling and be able to pull a reader right into the story instead of being a spectator to it is so rare and his books do that. From book 1 to the current book 18. Also, these are not novellas or short stories. Each in this series is a full on NOVEL. I've been opened to genres I never thought I'd be interested in before and it's writers like Nathan Hystad that make that possible .... that make reading ..... an important part of my life.

This series is one of the best of the 21st century. Mr Hystad is an extraordinary writer - clear and concise; highly creative. Not a wasted word or sentence. Hence the reader will be turning each page and on the edge of their seat in each book.
The wonderful cast of characters continue to live on in each wonderful new story. For those new to this "universe," you will enjoy it very much. For those of us that have been together since "The Event," it continues in each book to be extraordinary. Psstt...if you are new, start at book one "The Event "- definitely tons of wonderful reading of tales throughout. The characters bind the tales together through multiple generations.

Space Opera at its finest, again!
Nathan Hystad’s second collection of the Survivor series books was even better than the first collection of 6 books! I had a hard time putting it down at night. As I neared the end, the last 100 pages, I took it slowly. I only read a little each day so as to put off the day of completion. These books are what excite about teaching literature to children. Their ability to take us outside of ourselves while at the same time allowing us to envision ourselves in the character. “Would I make that same choice? Could I rise to the occasion? “. Sadly, I will never know.

This box set took me quite a while to finish because each instalment of the story is long - fabulous, and great value for money.
I have reviewed each story separately so I will add that the series has plenty of action and adventure, is very well-written and switches from first- to third-person narratives, which gives further insight into the story and characters.
All the characters are well-rounded, believable and fit perfectly into the plot/s. There is a brilliant sense of place, while the imagination has no limits. It's grounded in 'doing the right thing' and moral fibre.
Engaging and enjoyable.
Highly recommended.

Though the usually find a need conflict that they can't walk away from.

A bit shallow here and there, but overall a worthwhile read
The second collection continues the story of Dean Parker and his close associates. While apparently borrowing from some earlier sci-fi , the arc holds together fairly well. At points the point of view flipped between Jules and Dean so much that at times I had to stop and figure out who was narrating. I will most likely continue with the series.

The Survivors Books 1 through 12
I have a five star rating because the stories in as can book were great and I could read one after the other for a good price. Now I discover it is an 18 book series and the last 6 are not on a box set. I am sorely disappointed that, if I want to finish the series, I'll have to buy each one individually. Not sure it's worth the +3.99 for each book. Great.read up to this point though.

The adventure
For me and my love for syfy this has been a wonderful adventure of an accountant named Dean Parker, who was thrust into a life he could never have imagined. The story line is always evolving and comprehendible. So far it’s twenty years in Deans life and I hope there’s twenty more.

Thoroughly enjoyed these books
Still feels like there is more to come. Loved getting to know the characters and really didn't want books 7to 12 to end. Will hope to see other books that actually make the series feel complete.

This series just gets better and better. I love it.
The author continues to come up with new ideas each book in the series.
It's fun to see the mantle being passed from one generation to the next as time passes.
I'll definitely continue reading the series.

Amazing how it locks you in the story and demands that you keep going to the end

I have to admit I enjoyed this 6 book series as much as I liked the first one. I liked it enough to get the next 2 sets of books, so it looks like I have 12 more books of the series to read.
