Well still I wonder what kind of beings are Diclonius? And I would like to know why Kouta forgets his memories.. Still art is horribly simple and story need some deepness..
Elfen Lied is not the best sci-fi comic that I've ever read. However, it's the most touching one. Okay I'll say fuck all these fanservices and that lame kouta with his fucking cousin. But I will clap for Lucy and other diclonius It's a story about humanity. (by the way the anime soundtrack is cool). It's a story about how dicriminative human is and the truth about our sadistic nature. The plot is not somehow special but the story line is catching. Can't drop it to the end. You deserve my respect to teach a moral and more ecchis anyway I love it. Rate 5!
This was my favorite part so far cus you actually get to see them fight. But yeah, it's kinda way too sexual for me. I'll probably still finish it though.
Synopsis: Lucy is a special breed of human referred to as Diclonius, born with a short pair of horns and invisible telekinetic hands that lands her as a victim of inhumane scientific experimentation by the government. However, once circumstances present her an opportunity to escape, Lucy, corrupted by the confinement and torture, unleashes a torrent of bloodshed as she escapes her captors. During her breakout, she receives a crippling head injury that leaves her with a split personality: someone with the mentality of a harmless child possessing limited speech capacity. In this state of instability, she stumbles upon two college students, Kouta and his cousin Yuka, who unknowingly take an injured fugitive into their care, unaware of her murderous tendencies. This act of kindness will change their lives, as they soon find themselves dragged into the shadowy world of government secrecy and conspiracy.
Review: A horrifically violent, gruesomely sexualized, shocking and depressing series that's further intensified by the horrific acts done to a group of young girls. The things we are forced to watch happen to them is sickening, which makes their bloody vengeance and murderous rampages almost justified, if it wasn't for the ridiculously high body count of innocent civilians and bystanders.
Everyone in this series is an extreme sadist, the type of people that would beat a puppy to death with a glass vase just to spite another person. I admit, the shock value can get tiresome and pointless in certain instances, but from the standpoint of a horror flick, it can be entertaining to see just how much you are able to endure. Reminiscent of old-school slasher movies with excessive splatter and gore. Shock value for the sake of shock value. It can get redundant, but it can also be entertaining if you're looking for simpler entertainment.
There are plenty of flaws in the series as well as very awkward and misplaced moments that drag down the overall serious tone, but it's something I feel happy having experienced. It's a great example of exploring the minds of very tragic and emotionally broken characters. These instances of incredibly sad, memorable and heart-wrenching moments are the saving grace of the series.
idk why but I love her pose on this cover. The art in this manga is definitely uh not the best but, I still find it kind of endearing. There's just something about their massive kind of droopy eyes, and the way the artist draws evil smiles. very fun!
hepsini bitirince goodreads challangeımı 10 arttıracagım👏🏻 su kucuk kızın neden altında pantolonu yok hic anlayamadım sanki sort vardı animede. evsiz 12 yasında kopekli kız donla geziyo dicloniusdan daha az gercekci olmus
This volume felt mostly confusing. Not sure what the story wants to be. At this point it feels like too many genres combined. The funny ecchi and the violence don't always fit together.

Oh Lucy, how amazing you were when I was a teenager. Elfen Lied was one of those animes when I was younger that everyone had watched. A time were and of the world genre like Evangelion, X/1999, Ergo Proxy, Appleseed, Blue Submarine, Gunnm, Trigun and so much more reigned supreme in avid manga and anime fans. I loved EL, this may have been my 5th or 6th times reading it. The grotesque psychological trauma the Lucy clones go through as science experiments for the destruction of mankind in order to place the Diicloni as populous of the world.
EL has many themes from social alienation, abuse, jealousy and revenge to identity crisis and the value of humanity or ones self worth. There are many stages and evolution to the story and characters. Although the story is complex, the anime and manga differs at some points, especially on the ending. I strongly recommend the manga over the anime for that reason alone.
Do I recommend it: Yes, a must for anyone looking for a classic for animes in general, in its era, and its genre.
3.5 Stars - Volume 2 picked up some of the slack that I found to be a problem in volume 1, but it also lost some ground because I really hate the cousin. Compared to the anime the art is so simple and at times incredibly lifeless, but there are moments when it looks fantastic which are usually during Lucy related scenes. This one continues it's slow descent into utter darkness bringing in new ideas as we meet Nana, another Diclonis. I'll definitely keep reading the series, but so far watching the anime is proving to be more preferred at this point.
The story continues a bit less violent and with the introduction of some new characters. I am not 100% sure if I like the plot with Kota and Yuka. Everything looks too cute and the boy stumbles from one embarrassing situation into the other.
The main story is great though and I can't wait to start with Elfen Lied #3.
This was such a dramatic and heartfelt series. I felt so bad for the characters. the author did a really great job pulling at the readers. the series was emotionally charged and action packed.
